I was quite looking forward to this novel and expected something a bit edgy, dark and not always politically correct - especially after reading a blog post from this author where she mentioned that she doesn't do one hundred percent perfect doms.

I discontinued 50% into the story, mainly because the dom, Julien, turned me off completely and fucking annoyed me to no end. I didn't mind the sixteen years gap between the heroes, heck, I love May-December romances, well, as long as one of the MCs isn

We can say that Brina occupies a unique niche, different than those of all the other authors of BDSM gay romances. It is true that her doms are rich, but they are not billionaires. They are immigrants working in unconventional areas. As for his young subs, they are uncertain about how to deal with their homosexuality and the dominant whom they fall in love with.

However, there is something I don’t understand in the way Brina described his young MC. At the beginning of Bend Over’s blurb, she said

This book was a lovely read in its own right. So much of it was delivered from Shane's point of view, and as an 18 yr old boy, he was still very young and naive. So for the majority of the book we are delivered the story through his maturity/mentality levels, which came across as pretty innocent despite his knack for always getting into trouble. It was endearing, and sad at times, his struggles, especially considering where they came from. Julien was a very patient figure, thankfully, as that's ...more

Don't understand how this book can have a 4-star is such a disappointment. The author had a great story line that would have been a wonderful read except she couldn't figure out how to develop the characters. To say that Shane was schizophrenic would be a compliment. In his 'dialogue' he would make a statement and then 2 sentences later would completely contradict the first sentence. The author also tried to create a BDSM relationship between Shane and Juliene but that isn't possible ...more

So many things in this book bothers me, it just got worse with every page turned !

I don't get why Julien doesn't tell Shane the truth, his explanation is just lame...
And then sets the "No Lies" rule. Also, selling drugs is bad but prostitution is okay ?!
What a hypocprite !

This is him talking to his f**king employee !! What the hell ?? O__O

"When rules are broken, I determine the consequences. And just so you know, I use corporal punishment"

No discussion to introduce Shane

Well done, Brina Brady! I will say this is much different than Rent Me and I was pleasantly surprised. She gives a different side to a Dom/Sub relationship, just proving that all relationships and agreements are different and singular in their experience. I've seen her post that her characters aren't your typical BSDM, and I say thank you. It was nice to read something different. I wanted to smack both of them a couple times, but that's because I was so into the story :) And the sex scenes in th ...more

I was so excited by the blurb for this story, and so disappointed by the actual reading of the story.
Since most of the story is told from Shane's point of view, we have to read it through the filter of an 18 year old who has been emotionally beaten by his past, and is very naive about the world and his sexuality.
Julien had moments of greatness, and moments of manipulative, hypocritical, douche-bag behaviours. I would have been okay with him manipulating certain events to get Shane to be with him

The blurb sounded rather promising. The book didn’t deliver, though.
“Julien's heart goes out to this gorgeous boy and he takes him under his wing”. Well, that’s one way to put it. Sounds harmless in the blurb. In reality, Julien manipulated Shane in the worst way. Apparently because he wasn’t sure Shane would want him and ‘had to make sure.’ Maybe he could have just asked? Shane spent most of the book behaving like a brat, unsure of what Julien wanted from him. Maybe he could have just asked?

This is the story of a scared young man Shane who runs away from a troubled homelife and ends up living on a California beach. The reader learns about all his raw emotions through his thoughts and deeds.
It's also the story of the seemingly tough-guy Julien who falls in love with the runaway. It's interesting to gain insight into the emotions of this Dom who is both rough and tender with Shane who wants badly to gain Julien's love and respect.

I enjoyed this book which is written in the perspect

Another great book by Brina! Julien see's this beautiful blonde boy and has this strong desire to protect him, to help him and to make him his. Shane has had a hard life growing up with a very strict father who has made him feel ashamed about the desires he is having for other men. Shane has a lot of growing up to do and needs to start making better choices in his life and Julien is just the man to help him. Great story and I am very anxious for the sequel! It will be great to see their love gro ...more

Shane this sweet screwed up kid living with a vile family. Julian, older, knowing he wanted Shane the moment he saw him, may have handled it the wrong way, but all he wanted was to love, protect, and dominant him. Shane needed his heavy hand, structure, love, acceptance and to feel safe at being who he is. Love this story, this was heartbreaking, loving, freeing and sexy as sin

very dramatic, intense book. I hardly could put it down. The only part I didn't care for was the repetitiveness about the Reverend. well written to show characters feelings. The story continues in the second book.

Awesome Read! Suggest this book to anyone who loves BDSM and budding romances. The author does an amazing job at showing how new relationship can be hindered by inner demands, family issues, and lack of communication, but that they don't have to ruin it.

Something about the way the two main characters met rubbed me the wrong way. I could not get into this one when I question how truly consensual the relationship is.

Shane genuinely acted like an 18 year old. He got tiresome - petulant, whiny, self-centered. Julien was too good to be true - patient, understanding. Stalkerish?

OK, this book was a bit of a mess. My eyes were sore after reading, since I've been rolling them so much. I filed this book under erotica, because it feels more like an erotic fantasy then a well thought-out romance.

Shane is 18 years old, and a very naive 18 at that. He is self-destructive, full of self-pity, calls himself a fuck-up and then act like one, and can't seem to learn his lesson. Julien is way older, and an experienced dom. In fact, he is the "Master of Doms", but he also act like a B

Another amazing book written by Brina Brady. She's been able to incorporate multiple components and emotions into a world of conflict, hate, homelessness, power, love, and the added touches of BDSM. The story line is strong and dramatic and the character development is brilliant. Shane comes from a childhood of abuse and a father who is a preacher trying to drill into him that he will go to hell with the path he is following. Shane becomes unsure of who he really is and his sexuality and because ...more

Fantastic read! Bend Over starts out with the eighteen-year-old, Shane, who has run away from home to escape his intolerant reverend father. Shane isn't entirely sure about his sexuality, but when he has a sexual encounter in a beach shower with an older French speaking man, Shane's only thought is that he wants that guy again. Although he doesn't' know it at first, Shane has made an impression on the man. Julien is the owner of a BDSM club and after his encounter with Shane, he has to have him ...more

This is the first book of the Bend Over series by Brina Brady.
I am a fan of the series already and this is only the first book. Shane just immediately got under my skin and stayed there. He is unruly, untrustworthy and defiant, but for some reason the way he is written you just fall instantly in love with him and hope for the best possible outcome for him. His lover and the man he wants to be his Dom is intriguing and I want to know more of his story, but in true Dom fashion, he keeps his cards

A sweet young boy, who was a thief and a drug addict, had a dark past. Keeping secrets about your past from your Dom is unacceptable. That's what Shane did: lied, steal and getting high. Julien, a very wealthy man, brings in this boy, tried to protect him from all harm but very demanding. All in all, both Shane and Julien fell in love with each other, and that love will never stop. Wonderful story! It made me cry throughout some scenes here and there. Shane faced his past like a man and did his ...more

Shane is a young runaway - inexplicably down to Julien. He's a headstrong, naive young man but will do anything to be with Julien - including entering a world he knows nothing about and completely giving up his way of life.

Many reviewers have noted/complained that Shane is too young to be forced/drawn into something he knows nothing about - Shane really is driving the timeline in my opinion - he is the one pushing for more, and I think the structure of the life Julien is offering is very appeal

Shane is lost but luckily for him Julien finds him. I really loved this story. Shane is in trouble which is due mostly to his strict upbringing not to mention the feelings he is having towards men which makes him have a battle within himself. Julien saves Shane not only from himself but from others as well. I loved how the story unfolded and how it showed Julien and Shane's love growing along with trust in their relationship. Great story, very highly recommended! Great, hot sex too!

Loved it though I didn't like how Julien got Shane to come around with the stealing of his money but it did all worked out in the end. Shane needs to grow up and really figure out what he wants. Does he want a party life or does he want love & protection from his Dom.
