Arrows of Darkness has a much friendlier title than the previous book. Everything I said about THTBATSS applies to the sequel. The constellation naming sequence that appeared in the first book continued in Arrows of Darkness, but somehow felt less forced.

I guess I have to emphasize the Narnia-esque feel to both of these books, and it’s still suitable for readers of all ages. Now, I just have to wait until book #3 comes out. I’m glad I took a chance on these two stories when I saw them on NetGall

The series continues to be a wonderful fairy tale in the constellations. The story opens pretty painfully but with something that is unfortunately all too prominent these days for young readers. You can tell from the title and opening chapter that this novel is going to deal with the darker side of our hearts.

While sadness rains down upon his family, Jackson eagerly pushes forward to his dear Arcas where there is no personal pain just hopeful longing for a princess. Boy does he get a handful wh

Another fantastic read! This book starts out shortly after The Hunter, The Bear, and The Seventh Sister. Jackson is healing after his injuries in Arcas last time. His home life is dark at the moment, his parents are separating. He finds the stone to take him back to Arcas and the princess he can't stop thinking about. He just wants some light back in his life and what better than the land with three suns. Jackson waits until his dad leaves for the weekend and transports back thinking he'll be by ...more

Those who loved Narnia, I suggest this series to you. Darkness has fallen on Arcas as it has also on our young hero's home life. We meet frightening creatures that are trying to overtake the peace of the world made from stars. This series keeps getting better and better.

With a descriptive setting filled with all the constellations we see every night, Arcas never ceases to amaze my kids and I. The characters are well loved and the evil ones are just that. A truly wondrous fairy tale in a land th

This is a good sequel to the first. Jackson is injured from protecting Arcas and his home life isn't the best. He wants his life to turn around so he finds the stone that can take him back to Arcas and to his princess he can't not think about. When he gets back, however, he is welcomed by fire and chaos. There is a new ruler who worries only for himself and war breaks out. There are many twists and turns that you don't know where they are going to lead!

3.5 rating. I received this book in exchange for a review.
Better than the first one. I was pulled into the action and enjoyed the fast pace of the novel. Like the first one, I wish there was more show then tell and less narration.
The story takes a darker tone and leaves you captivated till the end. I would like to see where the series goes from here and what happens next.
