Any political system, democratic or otherwise, citizens unhappy with leadership. While public protests or electoral assertion are the desired forms of expression, there are some who take things to a new level, including the elimination of a leader through violent means. Dr. Ronald L. Feinman has written the definitive book on the subject of presidential assassination and attempts. The book factually accurate and is packed with engaging historical perspective and trivia. Dr. Feinman’s writing style is clear, logical, objective, comprehensive, and brings order to the chaos surrounding some of the assassinations and threats. It is very readable and captures the attention of the reader. The book sets the assassinations and threats in historical context, and ...more

Any serious scholar of the American Presidency must have this book. It is a very thorough collection of stories and facts behind every assassination and assassination plot ever hatched against an American president. Excellent reading. Very well researched and organized. I recommend it.

This was so interesting. Had no idea that so many presidents and presidents elect had been threatened. An eye opening peek into the power and risks of the most powerful office in the world.
