After everything blew up on Christmas, Liz walked away from me, and I let her. She said she needed space and a chance to pursue her dreams. But we both knew she was running from the mess she made. Now the political campaign she used as an excuse to leave is bringing us back together and I’m proving to her what she really needs—not just the hot nights, greedy hands, and und ...more

Sam and Liz rocked my world. I felt so many emotions in this series. Love, lust, lies, betrayal, anger. You name it, I felt it.

Sam was in a bad spot with his fathers governor campaign and the possibility of having a child that he has never met. I tried so hard to hate him but I just couldn't do it. He tried to do the right thing for everyone but it was out of control and the lies just kept getting worse.

Liz was was immature in the first book but by the second book I really liked her. She was hor

The conclusion to Liz and Sam's story was ok. I feel like the ending was rushed but overall I enjoyed seeing these two falter and get it together in the end. There was a bit of angst and a lot of manipulation by a crazy bitch.
I honestly dont know how anyone didnt see the crazy that was Sabrina. I mean she was a damned looney. I kind of wished George's character got more play because he seemed like the hottie guy next door. But Liz never stopped pining for Sam.
Sam was pretty good in the book. He

It wasn't exactly what I expected. This book was pretty hard for me to rate because I liked the story idea and also Lexi Ryan's writing style, but I was disappointed with the hero and heroine. There was no character development.

A weak hero + a weak heroine = Double messes

Here is Sam and Liz's tortured love and relationship.

Sam :
He loved her but he let her go. (without giving her a chance to explain.)
He wanted her but he couldn't forgive her.
He couldn't have her but he chased after her.

You'll need to batten down the hatches & hold on to your hats to make it through Something Real. A shot of whiskey & a cold shower may also help. To say this book is a tangled web of lies, deceit, family trauma, and heartache is an understatement. Sam & Lizzy have been through it all and found their way back to one another a few times. They have explosive sexual chemistry - there's no denying that. They ignite the bedroom and every other place imaginable. It's the relationship part t ...more

I love the way Lexi Ryan tells a story.
This was the perfect mix of heartbreak, scandal and HOTNESS!

It seems like the timing is never right for Sam and Liz. There's always something or someone trying to come between them. After the fallout in Something Reckless, Liz fled New Hope. Leaving behind Sam and all her friends and family. She's working on the governor's presidential campaign and just existing. Trying to forget about Sam. Even with a sexy neighbor next door, it's pointless. Sh

My English review

Leaving off of Something Reckless, the reader can’t wait to find out what happens to Liz and Sam. This book in the series wraps up Sam and Liz’s love story. Battling back and forth, with the political election part of their every wake and call moment of their lives, will what was meant to bring them together, actually tear them apart?

The constant tug and pull in this read keep the reader enthralled. Knowing more than both characters, most o

I felt like this author focused so much on all this additional drama and didnt focus on the romance part. I felt like there was no need to keep going back and forth (1 year before, etc)

I didnt love Liz for some reason. Sam was just okay but to me there wasnt really a love connection. I skimmed a few parts because I just felt like it was just one thing after another, obstacle after obstacle.

I despised almost everyone in his family but I guess this book just didnt do it for me. I feel li

It's rare that I finish and book and don't like it by the end, but that was the case with this one. I hated both of the main characters. Hated how Sam kept making Liz feel, like she was a dirty little nothing, hated how Liz kept letting Sam walk all over her and become the other woman. You would think with the way things ended I would have been happy, because the right person got theirs. Instead I was just glad to be done with the book!

Ana: 4 stars! This was not at all what I was expecting! As most of you probably do, after I finish a book that’s part of a series, I attempt to figure out in my head where the author might take the story next. Especially if I love the first part (or parts) of the story, which I did here. In this case, however, Ms. Ryan managed to take things in a different direction than I was anticipating. For me, it was a foregone conclusion that the drama a

We have already seen Sam and Lizzy already going through some challenges. The prologue of this one starts right after the big revelation at the end of Something Reckless. Then this story shifts forward as they try to pick up the pieces. Oh the drama, separation, miscommunication, hurt, and angst. Neither of them cope very well. Lizzy runs and throws herself into work and isolates herself. Sam has a few issues to deal with but also is spending quality time with a bottle. And just as thes

I was definitely nervous upon starting this one, considering the way the last one ended! Liz was dealt a whopper of a surprise as to the true identity of riverrat and let me tell you it was NO BUENO. *shudder* And quite creeptastic. I was really unsure of how Sam and Liz's relationship would progress in this one (if at all) because of the big reveal, but man I did not expect them to have to deal with as much as they did! This book is one giant manipulation after another and the twists and turns ...more

There is something about the way Ryan writes that turns me into this other person. A person who tears up, who’s heart beats rapidly, who’s breath catches when she reads. I’m not typically an emotional reader, yet Ryan’s books get to me. Every. Damn. Time.

At the end of Something Reckless, Liz and Sam are both heartbroken. Twisted circumstances and political games have laid ruin to the the shaky foundation their relationship was built on. Five months later is where Something Real picks up

Liz and Sam's story continues on in Something Real, a satisfying, highly dramatic conclusion to their series. What an ending it is! Filled with lots of drama, relationships and friendships get tested, secrets are hidden, lies are told, people are manipulated and somehow, despite everything that goes on, the truth is finally revealed and true love is redeemed.

After the cliffhanger ending of Something Reckless, Liz has left New Hope and is living in Indianapolis, working on Sabrina's mother's cam

Let's talk about the cliffhanger that topped all cliffhangers in Something Reckless! WHO THE HELL SAW THAT COMING? I sure as hell didn't and I was absolutely SHOCKED! It was the most f*cked up ending with such a huge twist. It was absolutely brilliant but disgusting. I could not wait to see what would come of it in Something Real... Something Real is the conclusion of Liz and Sam's story (Something Reckless) and a raw, sexy romance that will pull at your heartstrings!

Something Real picks up not too long after Something Reckless, which ended with a lot of heartache and feelings of betrayal. I was breathless by the end, and couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next! At the start of our story, Liz is moping in Indianapolis with the political campaign while Sam is back in New Hope drowning in his sorrows

Going into this book all I am thinking is DAMN - how will all of this go down! I am so scared! lol

Something Real continues where we left off with Something Reckless. It is 5 months later and Sam still hasn't given Liz a chance to explain her side. But in another blow to any kind of reconciliation between Sam and Liz, a sex tape is leaked between Sam and another woman that could harm people's careers. While I don't agree with the actions taken to rectify this situation, I do understand how living

In the emotional and somewhat nerve-wrecking ending to Liz and Sam's story, I found myself incredibly torn about whether or not these two could overcome all the obstacles in their way. You can feel the love these two characters had for each other. It was almost as if their love was a secondary character in the story. It was always there, peeking around a corner, waving a flag, saying "here I am, but I don't think I want to get mixed up in that," pointing at the mess that always se

Oh this was truly depressing into about 80% in the book. I know that is the worst first sentence ever but it is so true.

Throughout this three book series I have been just thrown all over the place with my emotions. So what I want to happen actually happens but then you just twist around and does something oust and then he goes back to what how I want it and I am just so emotionally drained. Will I still request or recommend this book of course I will because it has some good quotes and things in

I've been anxious to see what would happen with Liz and Sam after the cliffhanger at the end of the last book. I can honestly say, I was completely taken by surprise at the path the characters went down in this book. It was full of twists, turns and revelations. (And sexy times, of course.) There was a healthy dose of angst and misbehaving characters that made me want to hurl my iPad. (But only because I liked them and wanted the best for them an

WOW. Every time I read a Lexi Ryan book I forget how freaking HAWT the scenes are....even when the characters aren't actually having sex. Just having Liz & Sam on the same page is scorching.

I really enjoyed this 3 book chemistry, great characters, good storyline. My only complaint...I think it wrapped up a little too quickly and a little to easily. Other than that though - I loved it!

More scandals...

Stand in the way of Liz's and Sam's love. Beginning where Reckless finished, both are still reeling from issues that broke them apart. Yet, with more scandals and the behind the scenes machinations of powerful someone's, they may never get together.
Will love triumph for the hot couple, or will love be crushed by outside influences? Rushed ending, but overall it is a good erotic, romance.; however, they must both be read. There is New Hope for Liz and Sam.

Something Real was the conclusion to Liz and Sam's story. I'm sorry to see them go but I can't wait to see what Lexi will write for us next!

If you haven't already read book one start with it before reading this one.

You will find heat and steam, ;-) excitement action, surprises and everything wonderful that I have come to expect from Lexi Ryan's writing style.

I thought it was top notch.
