This was a really wonderful romance. It was nice and spicy too, but not overly so. It was also full of sweet love, very romantic and also suspenseful. The heroine is Mia, a prima ballerina whose career is terminated due to a severe knee injury. She decides to move back to the town she grew up and open a dance school. There she meets Jaxson, a handsome single dad, and his daughter Sophie who starts ballet lessons at her studio. Jaxson begins to hang out with Mia and eventually the two begin datin ...more

Contractions! Contractions! Contractions! Learn how to use them, please!!

This book was too hard to read in that the writing style was stiff, just didn't flow like normal conversation. Also, I find it hard to believe Mia, being an adult, would get mad and stomp away every time the ex showed up. Also, what adult asks, "are you going out with him" (as in are you now exclusively dating) to a grown woman? This felt more like a high school book, but with insta love and sex mixed in.

A book about a ballerina with hot, steamy, luscious man candy? Umm, yes please!! Can you see me wriggling in my seat? Holy schamoly was this book good. Did I say good? No, I meant GREAT! Yes, a story that I can relate to. As an ex ballerina, I felt as though Annalie was speaking to me. We are both red heads as well, after all. Okay, we're not talking about me, but a girl can wish, right?

Mia is a head ballerina with the New York City Ballet Company. Stunningly beautiful with red hair and a danc

Ballet has always been a part of Mia Parker’s life. Professional dancer for the New York Ballet Company, Mia took her career seriously. But when one performance alters her future, the choice to go back home and start a dance studio arises. Along with two of her company friends/roommates, they travel to West Trenton, Louisiana. On this trip home, along with the success of the dance studio, falling in love just wasn’t on the agenda for Mia. But through a friend, she meets Jaxson Sinclair, who is a ...more

Can't even with this. I love dancer books but this plot is nothing special. Nora Roberts alone has done it once or twice. I don't mind that so much but when you combine that with an author who doesn't understand how to use punctuation or how valuable contractions are to any non-formal writing it just makes for an unbearable read. It sounded like someone wrote this intending it to be a term paper. after reading 15% of it and it just getting worse and worse i gave up. DNF

What I Loved: I really loved the characters in this book, not only the main characters but the supporting ones as well which really adds to the overall plot of a book for me. Mia the protagonist, is pretty awesome and I love that she so willingly took up the role as mother to the cutest little girl in the world. I also love the chemistry between her and Jaxson throughout the entire story because of course that lead to some pretty smoking sex scenes! I love Jax

This is the debut novel for Annalie Walker and bravo to her for doing a great job. While I didn't fall in love with the book, I really liked her characters and she balanced the story and romance quite well.

Mia is a professional ballerina. Making her dreams come true, she left Louisiana, went to New York and became a dancer with the New York City Ballet Company. Dancing kept her busy, other than her partner Michael and her best friends, Olivia and Jade, she didn't have much of a personal life. Da

I'd just read the last book in this series and had liked all of the characters so much that I'd wanted to go back and start from the beginning. Pointe of Passion is a sweet and steamy story of starting over again after life has dealt you some pretty harsh blows. Mia had dedicated her life to becoming a professional dancer and had succeeded, enjoying the spotlight as the premiere soloist in the NYBC, she loved everything about performing on stage. When a devastating injury ends her professional c ...more

First, I would like to thank Annie Walker for a providing me with this book so I could bring you this review.

Pointe of Passion by Annalie Walker is the first book in her series Dancing Desires. Rhythm and Rapture is the second book in the series. I plan on reading that one as well.

“What could be more important than spending time with me?” Wow, the prologue clutched my heart. No child at that age should hear their parents fighting period. I just wanted to hold her and tell her it would be ok.

This is a book that gives you what you want when you read a second chance book. It gives you the inside scoop to the tragedy and it gives you how they go about fixing it. Now I will say that there where times I was really happy with the two main characters but the author made up for it. Mia and Jaxson help each other get to where they need to be. Mia shows Jaxson that it wasn't his fault and that he is the man he is meant to be. Jaxson shows Mia that even though life gave her a big push down, it ...more

I hate to give a book less than 3 stars. I hate to. I especially hate to do it to this one, for many reasons. For one, she's a brand new author, and I know it takes a lot of time and effort to write a book. Another is that I was so excited when I found this book! I love a good ballet book, but it just didn't work for me. The couple had to be the biggest morons ever. Can they not communicate about anything instead of jumping to conclusions and being mad for weeks? Seriously. It happened numerous ...more

I received an ARC through SNS for my honest review.

I have never read anything from Annalie Walker, but I will be reading everything that she write now. She had me from the very beginning with Sophie's few of her Mommy leaving to bringing us to present day and Jaxson and Mia meeting. Jaxon and Mia keep getting others trying to keep them apart but their loves prevails. I also love how through out the book she starts giving hints to the next book. This is the story of two people who have suffered during their life and both ended up moving back home to try and return their lives to a somewhat normal type. Mia and Jaxson both end up home for very different reasons, but they both tried to get on with their lives. When their lives cross each other there is chemistry, but living in a small town is never easy and instead of working together on their relationship, they both are immature and let outside forces work against the good thing they cou ...more

I really enjoyed this story. It read like a good old fashioned romance. The path these two found on their way to love was a little bumpy and twisted but the ride was worth it. Mia had built her entire life around ballet until an injury forced to rethink her future. Now moving back home and opening a dance studio of her own, Mia is finding her way. Jaxson is struggling as a single parent and enrolls his daughter Sophie in Mia’s dance studio. This connection is exactly what Mia and Jaxson need but ...more

What a beautiful love story! The Prologue brought tears to my eyes it was so emotional! Mia is a talented ballerina that injures her knee and is told her career is over! My heart broke for her. She thinks this is the end, but in truth her story is only just beginning! She moves back home and meets single Dad Jaxson. Neither are looking for love, but they can't deny what they feel for each other. The story is for all the romantics out there and features some steamy scenes! Mia has some great frie ...more

I loved the premise of this book and have been looking forward to reading it for months. My first thoughts were that the story line was great but the writing was terrible. The more I read I realized it was the dialogue that bothered me most. It was so unrealistic. A limited use of contractions and an excessive amount of words made it sound too formal and not like something anyone would actually say. Then there were too many predictable and immature moments. I was looking forward to reading this ...more

I really enjoyed this book. I got it as a free book, but then once I finished I bought book 2. This is about Mia and Jaxson. Mia is a ballet dancer who has suffered a career ending injury. She moves back home to start a dance studio with her two best friends. Jaxson is a widowed father. His little girl signs up for Mia's classes and the story goes from there. There are some intense sex scenes that will wow you. There are moments of misunderstandings that will cause you to cringe because they rea ...more

Miscommunication and misplaced anger can be the end of a great relationship if one is not careful. Luckily, these two lovebirds have a sizzling hot passion for each other and nothing can tear them apart...or can it?
Another heated love at first sight book that can burn your fingertips as you turn the pages!! I love the heat between these beautiful people and enjoyed reading how dreams could come true in every aspect of their lives.

STORY TOLD FROM TWO POV JAXSON & MIA BK, MIA HAS A BAD HABIT OF RUNNING AWAY FROM HER MAN PROBLEMS, SHE WAS SORT OF ANNOYING. IF I HAD A MAN LIKE JAXSON I WOULDN’T LET A BI*CH SEE ME SWEAT THEY ONLY DO THAT TO UPSET HER AND SHE FALLS FOR IT. ONE THING THIS STORY SHOWS HOW MUCH YOU NEED TO COMMUNICATE WITH EACH OTHER IN RELATIONSHIPS. OMG PLEASE TALK TO EACH OTHER! I LOVED THE COVER IT’S BEAUTIFUL. ;D

This is a great story. I really enjoyed reading about Mia and her new life in West Trenton. Meeting Jaxson that night at the restaurant the reader knew these two characters were destined to be together. I loved the development of the characters and how the sub characters were developed as well. This seems like a great start to the series. It was great to read a love story that hadn't been told already! Looking forward to more from this author!

3.5 STARS
I found the writing a little formal at first, hence the 3.5 stars, but as the story progressed and I fell into the world of Mia and Jax I stopped noticing.
The story itself was fantastic,I loved the characters. I couldn't tear myself away from the story and I read the book in one sitting.
This is the first book of Annalie's that I have read and I can't wait to read the next one.

I gave up reading "Pointe of Passion: Dancer's Desire, #1" one third of the way through the book. The plot seemed interesting but the dialogue was sophomoric. The characters were robotic and unbelievable. Sorry, I couldn't recommend this book.

Same old plot, characters, yada , yada

First, enticing beginning, then all these type romances are structured alike. Infatuation, sex, misunderstanding, finally, TRUE LOVE. No depth !
