The year is 2045. Ann, a high-powered executive, working in an Artificial Intelligence International, is at the pinnacle of success. That is, until strange and elusive images begin to haunt her nights, slowly spilling into her days.
The robotic companion she created leads her to a startling conclusion…these disturbing images may be whispers and screams from her past lives.
With her scientific background, Ann is skeptical, but a visit to an ancient psychic plunges her into a cruel and primitive world before recorded time. She begins to experience this brutal landscape through her own eyes, even feeling the pain of childbirth and the savage murder of her primordial companion.
Shaken by the image, Ann comes face-to-face with Michael, a handsome, mysterious stranger who seems to know far more than he should about Ann’s harrowing mental state.
Fearing she is losing her grip on reality, Ann slips further into her nightmare world, interacting with Roman Emperor Caligula, Louis XIV and a Soviet spy syndicate during World War II.
Only the mysterious Michael holds the stunning truth that will save Ann from her visions, and propel her to an even more amazing future.

Although this novel is a sci-fi/adventure story, it is also a coming of age story, a coming of age of spirituality, of spiritual growth and understanding. Ann comes of age spiritually. Quoting the late great William Faulkner, "the past is never past"...... Without the past we cannot learn how to connect to our future, our spiritual future. The past has lessons we can learn and from that previous spiritual path we can enter into a new present and a profound future with infinite possibilities. Ann, the main characters is just experiencing her past lives by going back in time she is in fact soul searching and finding her own spiritual path and awakening beyond technology. I like the fact this novel (written with the exquisite artfulness of Jacklyn Lo) is a true testimony of no matter how far we transcend through our technological knowledge and advances we can only reach true ascension through the willingness to walk the spiritual path wherever it may lead and by making that choice that is the arc of true redemption in it's purest form.
I met the author of Redemption during my travels through Europe last summer. I am so glad I did otherwise I would never have had the opportunity to read Redemption. I haven't read so much the last few years, falling like so many into the snare of the smart phone, so reading Jacklyn's novel brought me back a few decades to when I used to rush home from the library to read Asimov, Clarke and Heinlein. I intend to change my habits. And so Redemption. Fits into a multitude of categories, part Sci-Fi, part mystery, part time travel historical, part fantasy, a little romance with a strong essence of the spiritual throughout. Its scope is broad, A spiritual journey in five acts, moving from the Palaeolithic to Rome to the Sun King to the horror of the eastern front in WWII all intersecting with Ann, our near future host who is like so many of us questioning her existence and her purpose. She enlists the help of a psychic and her portable AI , Rob, who has the serenity and wisdom of the Oracle at Delphi, to assist her in her quest. The narrative pace is jaunty, a real page turner. I especially enjoyed the ending. I really didn't see it coming.
Jacklyn Lo’s “Redemption” was a confusing book, beginning with the novel’s declarations of what it was supposed to be. On the Amazon site, it is described as a “supernatural time-traveling thriller with sci-fi and metaphysics.” However, the ebook title at the top of every page describes it as a “supernatural time-traveling romance.” After reading the book, I found it is neither. If anything, it is a story of someone using the supernatural to achieve personal growth. Here’s the highs and lows of the book, without spoilers:
The story is set in 2045, and the main character Ann is heavily involved with computers and artificial intelligence (AI). The author described Ann’s personal AI hard at work, processing “…a few seconds of research that covered over a hundred terabytes of data.” A deeper description of what was going on would have been interesting, perhaps detailing the hard drive “synapses” or the quickness at collecting data from around the world (to be fair, the author did mention in the opening pages that his AI was connected to the company databanks). Still, chances to develop a picture of the future are missed on several occasions.
As far as general sci fi, this novel (published in 2014) of life in 2045 seems behind where most scientists believe where we will be. Some of the futuristic offerings are here now, or anticipated to be in less than 30 years (such as integrated home systems and AI in robots that will converse with humans). With the current technology, it may be doubtful humans will be allowed to drive in 2045.
What was good sci-fi: Ann’s comfort with an AI was indicative of future culture, as she talked conversationally with it and even assigned human actions to them (spreading gossip). I also liked the idea of the restaurant allowing patrons to sample a smell of a dish before ordering.
The author placed Ann in multiple time frames, requiring a knowledge of how the people lived and how the societies functioned in those past eras. However, the reader is only given a superficial overview of these excursions in time, and some passages or events do not coincide with what history tells us would have happened. Cavemen would have at least seen fire, even if they didn’t know how to control it. A low born girl of the streets in 17th century Paris would never have worked her way through the system and become accepted at court (although on occasion a King would sneak a paramour up the back stairs for a quick tryst). A human living six days without water is not possible. Research could possibly have found ways around these types of issues.
The writing style is generally okay, and the use of present tense was effective in separating the past and present lives. Dialogue slowed up the story on a regular basis, with many passages containing conversations of little use in moving the story forward. About 77% into the book, the f-bomb was dropped and the characters began mixing vulgarities in the dialogue, almost as if the 20th century invented vulgar words. This far into the book, there didn’t seem to be any reason for characters to speak in this manner. As I promised no spoilers, it is impossible to describe the implausible and unsatisfactory ending.
What is mystifying is that the author appears to have genuine talent as a writer, and with adequate research and a tough editor to prune the fat in the dialogue sections, I would have felt much differently about this book. Replacing “romance” with “thriller” will not correct what a good rewrite would accomplish. Two-and-a-half to three stars.
Redemption is a much more than a thought-provoking novel!
Redemption novel by Jacklyn A. Lo is a great mix of different genres like sci-fi, history, romance and spiritual.
I liked how Jacklyn has blended the concepts of reincarnation, time travel and technology to make up the whole plot of the novel. The novel was engaging right from the very first page. The language is simple, which makes it easy to read for non-native English-speakers too. The writer has a bright imagination and strong writing skills, which made me feel that if I have been seeing the adventures of the protagonist with my own eyes.
The main attraction to me was Ann - the main character, who was a brilliant engineer. A smart, confident woman, who was working in an advanced Artificial Intelligence environment in 2045 (I am an engineer myself so I was particularly interested in her life).
Ann had a series of time travelling experiences where she slips into her past four lives, all of them so different and so amazing! I admired all hard choices, which Ann did in her past (and present) I couldn't stop myself from the tears running from my eyes feeling her sacrifices.
I liked an ongoing discussion, throughout the novel, about freedom and love, free will and fate, spiritual choices and God between Ann and his incredibly cute and smart robotic assistant Rob. Beside Ann, other characters played their role meaningfully in her life, like her friend man-eating Nina, her romantic interest Michael and the weird Psychic who helps her to drift into her past lives. Additionally, I’d say, the romantic genre in the novel dominates slightly than sci-fi genre.
Overall, it’s a great read. I definitely liked all the technology, spiritualism, mysticism and romanticism in the novel. As for her debut novel, Jacklyn did an amazing job. I’ll definitely follow her works in the future.
Review of Redemption Redemption is a unique novel that blends sci-fi, history and philosophy. The story starts in the future but the reader eventually goes on a journey through different time periods in the past, from Stone Age to the Second World War, as the main character delves into various lifetimes of experiences. The heroine, Ann is from the year 2045 and works for an AI department. She enjoys her work and bustling social life, though she feels that something is missing in her life, particularly because of a repetitive anxious dream about a spiral circling her in its ceaseless course. At the beginning of the novel, Ann is an atheist, however an open minded curious one and as the story unfolds, she begins to be more interested in faith and spiritual matters. I found the story so interesting that I could hardly put it down. I identified with the main character and particularly enjoyed her relationship with her AI assistant, Rob who is not only a marvellously engineered program, but also her friend with whom she can philosophize about free will and God. I enjoyed the metaphor of us being gods of the artificial intelligence and its correlation to seeking our own creator. Overall, I liked the philosophy behind the story, the idea of time-travel and multi dimensions, and the surprising twist in the end, which truly amused me.It’s an inner journey, a spiritual quest for redemption through recognizing values in life such as freedom, love, courage and peace. I loved that the story is in fact set in the future and past and not in the present, it's a refreshing approach. If you like mysticism, spirituality and visionary fiction, then this is really worth reading!
Redemption follows the story of Ann, a successful business woman who thinks she has everything under control. Well, everything from the nightmare that she keeps having: an endless spiral which really sets her off. Unable to cope with her bad dreams, she decides to visit a psychic who ‘makes’ her relive her past lives in order to get to terms with her current life.
As some of you have probably noticed, this book took me almost a month to read. However, that fact does not mean that I didn't enjoy Redemption! Quite the opposite, I found this book to be very entertaining and when I finally found the time, I read through it very quickly. It mixes sci-fi with philosophy and spiritual motives and it turned out really well. I feel like this is one of those books that make me question my own choices and motives. It was most certainly thought-provoking, which is exactly the thing that I keep looking for in books.
I won a free copy of this book - thanks Jacklyn A. Lo for sending this to me!
+Jacklyn A. +Lo has done a marvelous work at narrating the story. The flow of the story is truly +captivating with +simple +language. The +emotions of various scenes are described so wonderfully that you can't help feel them for yourself. Every +turn in the story, every +twist in the concept makes you hold your breath for the upcoming new +adventure.
This is one of those books that I can't seem to find the right words to express how much I enjoyed it. You are taken on a ride to the past, to the future and more. This book is easy to read and if you are a sci-fi lover there is no doubt that you will love this one!
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review via StoryCartel.
Redemption by Jacklyn Lo is a book which has supernatural, sci-fi, romance and spiritual fiction all combined in one. The book is set in 2045, where the main character Ann is a sales and marketing head at AII (Artificial Intelligence International) and works with robots and E-Assistants. The other character is the E-Assistant Rob, which is almost described as a real person. Rob is fun and human-like mobile device assistant, who is a constant companion to Ann. As the story is set in 2045, the high level of robotics and AI is part of the storyline. The author has tried to give a realistic twist of integrated home systems and computer driven cars and tunnels, though a little more innovation and technology could have been introduced. In 2018, we already have integrated home systems with computer driven cars. The best part about 2045 technology was E-Assistant Rob talking to Ann in real conversation, regarding spiritual and mental growth.
Though Ann is a successful and accomplished person in her professional life, she is disturbed by nightmares in her personal life. Ann goes through various previous lives in different era and tries to understand the reason behind her nightmares. She is taken to her previous reincarnations as a woman in Stone Age, a high priest in the Roman Era, a young girl in Paris and a soldier and spy in the Second World War. Going through her various lives is interesting and the author manages you to experience all these characters personally. While sorting and making sense of her previous lives Ann meets Michael. The character of Michael is mysterious and secretive, Still, it could help to have a little more background to him. The story line is intriguing and the writing for the past, present and future is done beautifully. The characters come to life and leave an impact. The past reincarnations use famous and known historical figures, though interesting it makes it less factual and difficult to believe. The technical world clashes with the spiritual world in the novel. The sync between these two is rough and needs a serious editing. Though an amazing writer, Jacklyn needs a good and harsh editor to make her work shine. A good research and editing can make this book into a best-seller. It is a good read with positive ending, though the Heaven and Nirvana felt a bit stretched to me personally. You could still learn a lot in terms of personal growth and life in total. I would recommend it as a one-time read to the people who read without fact-checking. I am looking forward to her next book with anticipation.
Redemption is not your typical sci-fi novel. Yes, it starts in 2045 with a successful AI engineer named Ann—but soon, the story spirals into something much deeper: a metaphysical and emotional journey across past lives, ancient civilizations, and spiritual awakenings.
What begins with disturbing visions soon pulls Ann into a whirlwind of vivid reincarnations—from a prehistoric world of raw survival, to the decadent court of Louis XIV, and even war-torn WWII Europe. Along the way, she questions everything: her identity, her beliefs, and the nature of reality itself.
This novel beautifully blends science fiction, historical fiction, philosophy, and spirituality, exploring themes like fate vs free will, the purpose of suffering, and the essence of redemption. Her robotic assistant, Rob, adds both humor and thoughtful commentary, often acting as a mirror to Ann’s evolving consciousness. The mysterious Michael introduces romantic tension while raising even more questions about what’s real—and what’s not.
While some historical moments could’ve used more depth, and the dialogue occasionally slows the pace, the imaginative scope and emotional resonance more than make up for it. I particularly appreciated the discussion of humanity’s search for meaning in an increasingly technological world.
If you're into time travel, reincarnation, AI, or philosophical fiction that challenges your worldview, Redemption is worth reading. It’s a thought-provoking debut that blends hard science with soulful introspection—and it just might leave you questioning your own journey through time.
This book was very disappointing. First, it had little to do with time travel and mostly involved reincarnation. Second, there were so many grammatical mistakes it became distracting. Along these lines, the characters in different time periods used phrases that were clearly anachronistic. Third, there were mild (and some not so mild) religious overtones that I did not care for. Fourth, the reincarnation aspect meant that the novel was presented as a set of short stories that occurred at different points in time. This meant that none of the stories or characters was well developed. Fifth, this book has to have one of the most disappointing endings I have ever encountered.
Jacklyn Lo’s debut novel, Redemption, is a fast-paced and somewhat trippy read—Artificial Intelligence meets New Age—which enters the burgeoning Visionary Fiction genre market (Reincarnation sub-category) with bursts of brilliance that bodes well for her future.
Skipping over any plot summary, which is included in several other reviews, I’ll comment on Redemption’s place in the increasingly sophisticated multi-lifetime fiction arena (think Kate Atkinson’s Life after Life or MJ Rose’s Reincarnationist series as examples). Ms. Lo’s plot structure in presenting the several past incarnations, which contribute to the protagonist’s current lifetime challenges and her future destiny, is simple, sometimes elegantly so, and linear, sometimes too much so to be credible or soul-shaking.
Ann, an attractive and accomplished AI executive with an electronic guru always on hand, experiences ever-deepening angst despite her material success. To resolve a disconcerting recurring dream, she makes a series of visits to a psychic, who lives in the seedy part of town, and, with little ado about the process, is regressed forward in chronological sequence through five lives in very different historical settings (she is even male, a castrated priest of Isis, in one of them). Each lifetime is a well researched and written vignette that corresponds to the spiritual principle (Freedom, Love, Courage, Peace, too obviously announced in the titles of the book’s parts) the lifetime is designed to imbue into the evolving soul on its path to salvation.
The end result of this collage, despite the futuristic setting of its binding story, is that of the medieval morality play, such as Everyman, where plots and people represent abstracts rather than specific characters. The book has sufficient substance and excitement to appeal to a young adult audience or to the curious who are new to the visionary fiction/reincarnation genre. Connoisseurs of the category looking for a more intricate treatment of the subject might, however, find Redemption’s route through the intricate matrix of our universe too easy in Ms. Lo’s depiction.
[Full disclosure: this reviewer is himself a visionary fiction/reincarnation novelist and member of the Visionary Fiction Alliance, and thus invested in encouraging authors to aim for superior quality in their VF works.]
Redemption by Jacklyn A. Lo is an amazing story of a woman named Ann. Ann at the beginning of her story is a true skeptic about anything and everything spiritual and non-materialistic, but when she starts having nightmares that leave her sleepless she agrees to visit a psychic with her best friend Nina, mainly out of curiosity. After the first visit to the psychic she remembers one of her past lives. With the help of an AI companion named Rob she starts to research spiritual topics and God. What she finds out makes her question her current life decisions and in the end through discovering her other past lives causes the end of her Redemption through the series of events, including meeting the man of her life. I was quite taken by this novel. I must be honest, at first I didn't expect much of it, but after as little as a few pages I was hooked! The main character, Ann was quite likeable and I could connect with her. It was a quite a fast read and I finished the book very quickly. There are a few things I really did not like about the style of writing - at moments it seemed quite immature as it used very worn out metaphors and the characters were quite stereotypical, but I soon forgot about those things as the plot was very nicely branched out and formed in an interesting and intense way, which made it fast paced and completely attention grabbing. Considering other characters, I found Ann's best friend Nina quite unpleasant. She seemed very shallow and unintelligent. I was quite annoyed with her constant suasion to have Ann make finding „the perfect man“ her priority. This made the novel far more believable since not all the characters were perfect and their flaws were very visible. When Michael, Ann's love interest, was first introduces to us I thought he was amazing, I really enjoyed reading about him and how he and Ann became closer and closer. Towards the end of the novel I felt as if his „muchness“ had been taken from him. When he reappeared in the last chapter he did not feel as the same character anymore. He was different and I found myself disliking him. All in all I really enjoyed this novel! It was different from anything else I have read before and it opened my eyes to many new things I haven't really seen before. I believe this isn't only a work of fiction but a spiritual guide of a kind. I certainly found myself more centered after reading some of the lines from this amazing book.
Redemption is a marvelous introduction to its author, Jacklyn Lo. It stands as her debut novel, and leaves the reader demanding she grace us with further literary projects.
Although the book is set in the future, and technology is advanced beyond what we now experience, Ms. Lo successfully captures the timeless essence of life as she aptly retells the age old story of the soul on its tumultuous journey to spiritual completion and fulfillment, via the rounds of birth and death known as reincarnation.
The book comprises a series of stories, but they are all the stories of a single soul on its voyage through variegated human incarnations. The concept of reincarnation, so aptly portrayed in this wonderful novel, is a concept firmly entrenched in many of the worlds major religions, as well as a vast array of the worlds burgeoning population.
Jacklyn Lo skillfully portrays with incredible detail some of the many lives one such soul recounts, all from her current, futuristic life set in 2045. While recalling each of these past lives, the author generously and creatively illustrates the joys and sufferings, the ups and downs, invariably encountered in each incarnation that is taken. She abundantly demonstrates how the experiences of one life serve to propel the soul into the next human form.
Adding even more richness, texture and interest to this novel, is the fact that Redemption extends into more than one genre. It is most assuredly a novel of high quality Visionary Fiction. However, there are also components of this novel that clearly fall within the genre of Romance. As such, Redemption holds abiding value to a broad cross-section of readers, regardless of where they are currently stationed with respect to matters of the spirit. The book appeals to those inclined towards Divine Love as well as human love.
Read Redemption! You won't be disappointed. Permit yourself to become absorbed in its unfolding, and allow it to assist you in pondering what you may have endured throughout centuries past, all of which has brought you to this present moment. Then, in the present moment, let Redemption serve as a guide in actualizing your highest transcendent being as bursting forth towards the fullness of expression.
This has elements from a mix of genres; including supernatural, spiritual, romance, sci-fi, and speculative fiction. Overall, it is well written and very entertaining. I particularly enjoyed reading this as a series of short-stories, being only disappointed with the lack of connect between the science fiction, the regressive themes, and the end of the book. The past lives are all exciting reads, though saddled with my common complaint that it is funny how more often than not past life memories are of infamous and famous events and times, rather than of ordinary lives. This makes for good entertainment, whilst reducing plot 'credibility'. A-Lo, if this is 'future biography', certainly gets the Halo. However, the bar to reaching redemption is set so high that I'm quite sure I'd be stuck in Limbo, or Clapham, or Mean Street forever. Perhaps like most superb destinations the already resident wish to stop 'Heaven' getting too crowded. Only special friends of Michael may here enter. So if you want to get into this exclusive club you had better be pretty damn superhuman first. This is a good read with a positive ending, which probably tips the book more into the romance genre than any other. There aren't any original plot elements here not that that is of much consequence except to those that devour books. There are signs enough that Lo is capable of writing more ambitious books, so she is an author I'll follow. I would like the opening and closing elements to be integrated better- especially in tying in the science fiction artificial soul, the strongest character in the book and the real 'romantic' lead, with final death and arrival at station Nirvana. As to the short-life stories, they are very entertaining both standing as independent reads and as a part of the overall theme. Written in clear and simple style, this is a very easy book to get into.
***I RECEIVED A COPY OF THIS BOOK FROM THE AUTHOR IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST AND UNBIASED REVIEW***
This is, simply put, a great read. "REDEMPTION" is an apt title for the main plot of this story. Author Jacklyn Lo does a marvelous job of setting up her story and characters. I could picture myself as the main character which made it easy to relate to my own life. There is a fresh perspective about our journey of life and Ms.Lo does great balancing action, adventure, history, mystery, tragedy and romance. The plot has sub-plots that would make good books themselves. She did a lot of research to write this book. Ms. Lo could write several novels with the same story line and each would be unique to the main character. One problem was a lack of editing, not a lot but enough to notice which made the book a 4 instead of 5 for me. Another was that I really did not see this as sci-fi time travel. Still, I just couldn't put it down.bhai
The characters are developed well and each has a purpose that becomes clear. Again, you will know someone just like each character. I went from laughter to tears as I followed one womans life journey. It made me wonder what I would find in my life. I would love the opportunity to findout! I don't like spoiler reviews so you will have to read this book to find out the rest. I was completely surprised by the ending and would have liked a little more explanation of things which also contributed to the 4 stars.
Overall this is a book worth reading. You will find it thought provokin, I am sure. I can happily recommend this book to readers that enjoy looking at all the possibilities life has to offer. Your fate may be easier to change than you think. KUDOS Ms. Lo on a tale well told.
“Redemption is a modern day Divine Comedy”- Eduardo Aduna for Readers' Favorite.
Jacklyn Lo's Redemption follows the life-changing and surreal journey of a successful executive as she realizes that material gain simply isn't what life was meant to be all about. It is 2045 and Ann, a high-powered AI industry executive, is struggling to find the missing piece in her life. A series of vivid recollections from various times in history, an enchanting and mysterious stranger, and a psychic woman may hold the key to Ann's journey to find the truth.
Melding different genres is a difficult task for any author. Each aspect must draw upon the others and come together to create a cohesive narrative that the reader can follow. Redemption manages to juggle science fiction, metaphysical, and romance aspects of the story while staying on course and showing how Ann's viewpoints and perspectives change with every event that she encounters. Ann's sojourns into history are well-researched and compelling, the details manage to portray to the reader how vividly Ann must be experiencing each historical age.
Redemption is a modern day Divine Comedy, where each experience propels the character towards enlightenment, and one that incorporates various New Age themes to craft a story that not only entertains the reader but also manages to impart a different perspective to living and looking at life. Ann as a protagonist is easy to like and identify with, her struggles all too quickly become the reader's own. And as she finally realizes the truth, the reader also gets to enjoy the unexpected ending that Redemption offers.
“Redemption” is a intriguingly, enchanting supernatural sci-fi thriller that keeps the reader on edge as the protagonist “Ann” embarks upon a journey into unknown realms to search for the truth veiled within a troubled past. The reader is taken on a journey through time starting from Chicago in the year 2045, to the Stone Age, 1st Century A.D in Rome, 17th century France, the Russia of 1941 and then finally heaven, where Ann was destined to be. From what began as a nightmare, Ann is intrigued to know the meaning of the frequent nightmares that haunt her, despite her seemingly “perfect” but lonely life, she seeks the help of a psychic and unlocks the secrets of her past, only to know that in each life she had a cause, a purpose, for which she became a part of the cycle of birth and death and that sole purpose was of redemption. Being an atheist, Ann never believed in God or the bible, but the Spiral of Evolution was given to her to show her own sacred path within Spiritual Eternity and for her to seek her true calling. Redemption is an intricately weaved tale that is first introduced as a sci-fi thriller, involving time travelling and metaphysics, which later unrolls into a roller coaster ride of a woman travelling through the sands of time, seeking the truth veiled within her tumultuous past and finally attaining redemption by embracing her inner spirituality. Exhilarating, engrossing and fascinating, “Redemption” will keep you on your toes and leave you begging for more even if you are not a fan of sci-fi.
Oh so many wonderful discoveries the Wisdom Spirit brings to us, together with the Experience — the child of hard mistakes, and the Genius — the friend of paradoxes, and the Chance — the Lord the inventor. And of course not everything is as bad as it was meant to be…
I must say that I pay close attention, and respect people for who are not limited to material life, but perceive their inner world through art and mystical revelation. Redemption: Supernatural Time-Traveling Thriller with Sci-fi and Metaphysics by Jacklyn A. Lo is All In One book: sci-fi, spiritual, romance, mystery, fantasy and something existential, but most of all, very original plot. There are some great twists, an attractive protagonist (Ann is from the year 2045) that will appeal to a wide variety of riders, artistic discourse of human experience through the immortality and transmigration of the soul, an unpredictable and, at the same time, a positive ending that took me by complete surprise. Jacklyn A. Lo is an aspiring but very gifted author, who can give you the opportunity, the chance to reflect on your way of being, relating, behaving, believing and acting through which you live out in your lives. In sum, there is an excellent story determined by an exalted metaphysical longing for past incarnations, which is about love, an afterlight, morals and ethics and about memory and reflection. If you enjoy a very different type of novel, give this one a try.
EVERYONE DIES…But what if death isn’t the end? What if it is simply a link in a reincarnation chain that spans the centuries and millennia? What if all of us are trapped in an endless cycle of lives, doomed to suffer and die over and over again? Wouldn’t you want to break free? That’s how the book starts and these are questions you’ll ask yourself after you finish this book. A thought-provoking plot, especially if you like sci-fi. However, this book is so much more. It take you from the future deep into the dark stone ages and back, weaving science fiction into history. The history details are well researched and the end took me by surprize. Well done!
I've read Redemption a while ago and it was a good solid story - then I heard it had been re edited and I decided to give it a try... Oh my god. Like, seriously. It's slow, sensual, gripping, meaningful and the writing matches the amazing worlds we travel with Ann. I don't read many time traveling story, let alone serious metaphysical stuff; which is why I can say for a fact: this book will please any reader - there's something for every taste, from romance, to action and historical revisits. Loving it!
Redemption is an sci-fi/adventure reading. When I say sci-fi, that doesn't mean full of complicated information that will confuse readers. The language is simple, and that makes the readers continue reading without getting bored. The emotions of the characters are so well that I can feel them personally. The twists and turns are something that I didn't see them coming. Quite an entertain reading! Good adventure story! Very imaginative!

This is an enjoyable sci-fi / philosophical novel, taking the reader to the past and future through a series of past live. Starting in a future Chicago the main character questions her existence. Time travel and multiple dimensions are used as plot devices which works well for the story. What is the purpose of life is the overall question, which is answered at the end in a surprising way. An interesting read.
A great book about the possibility that we live multiple lives. An engaging story with an unforgettable lead character, Anne. She has to make sacrifices, leaving behind some superficial wants, for the highest intangible values. The end is very satisfying and will almost leave you thinking "Gee, I wish it were really that way." A must read.
