In HAVEN, San Francisco nightclub owner Carina Tranquilli survives a vicious attack by her vampire family's longtime archenemies. Several weeks later, as she struggles with PTSD and survivor's guilt, supervillain Dixon resurfaces and kidnaps two of her best friends. To save them, Carina must comply with the evil bastard's unusual demands. The kicker? She must tell no one what she is up to. Meanwhile, she has a new dance club to open for the preternatural community, a fated soul mate acting secretive and distant, and a sexy, new, undead friend who'd love to take Alexander's place in her heart and bed. Blackmailed, betrayed, tempted

Not long ago, I read the first book in this series, Haven, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing, so I was really excited when the author sent me the latest installment for review. If you like reading about a half vampire, with a wicked side of sarcasm, this series might be one you should check out.
Carina(Rina) Tranquilli is still coming to terms with finding out she's half vampire, and even more that she has recently been close to being killed by the evil Dixon. PTSD is just a part of her life now, complete with anxiety attacks. So when Dixon blackmails her into having to drink magic tainted blood over a several day period, or he will kill her friends, her life pretty much turns into hell for her. To top it off, her soul mate, Alexander, has been ordered to Europe by Tessa, until Carina can learn to control her powers when she's around him. Tessa is one of the most powerful vampires in existence, and is Rina's surrogate mother.
As before, I completely enjoyed Carina's character. Sarcasm is always a good thing in a main character for me, and Carina has snark for days. She's also extremely loyal to her friends, almost to the point of causing herself lethal harm. She's twenty something, rich, beautiful,a vampire princess, and in love with her soul mate, Alexander. So when Alexander becomes distant towards her, she is really wondering what's going on. When pictures of him hit the internet, ones that no one would want to see of a boyfriend, Rina's life goes even more out of control. All of the characters from the previous book are back, and one more in particular, has been added. Fin, a handsome, ancient vampire, meets her, and tries to insinuate himself into her life. Fin was an interesting character. He wants Rina, but she is his princess, so her uncles aren't happy with him hanging around. There is, of course, a history there. Also new this time around is a werewolf pack, always a good thing in any paranormal book!
The premise of a young girl learning that she's not only a half vampire, but also a vampire princess, was a big part of the premise of the first book. This one continues that theme, complete with villains that want to control her, among other nefarious things. She can't seem to get away from the dreaded Dixon. I have to say, he is one of the worse villains that I have read about in awhile. I would have liked to personally slap him upside the head-about a hundred times.
I thought this book was well written, with good fully realized main characters, and the solid world building continued with this installment, as it should in any good series. Action fans will not be disappointed either, although there's not quite as much as in the first installment. There's still more questions that need to be answered, so of course I will be continuing with this series. I do wish more of those questions from the first book would have been answered. I would also like to see a lot more of the werewolf pack. I would recommend it to adult readers of paranormal romance/urban fantasy. (RabidReads.com)
It seems like I had been waiting FOREVER to read DESTINY and when it finally came I jumped right in.
I am going to jump right in on Carina. Carina has had to deal with A LOT since she found out who she is and who her family really is. I tried to cut her some slack, but I think she made some pretty crappy decisions in DESTINY. I understand the situation and why she kept her secrets, but I think she should have trusted her loved ones a little more and asked for help. She's still mad at her father and refused to speak to or see him even though I think he could have also helped the situation. In fact her friend specifically told her to contact him and she didn't. She should have put her pride aside in that instance. I think it would have saved her (and others) some pain. But alas everything worked out in the end and she will be a stronger person going into book 3. I really wanted Rina to learn more about herself. With all the strife going on in DESTINY and the people around her constantly keeping her in the dark, that just didn't happen. The good news is that I think book three will be dedicated to just this.
There are some issues with Rina and Alexander in DESTINY. Alexander has been ordered away on tour and she could really use him by her side. He becomes distant, she starts questioning things and bam lots goes on on that front. Don't be too sad though.
I think DESTINY was just as well written as HAVEN. I think there was some significant growth happening with the main characters and the world was just as well explained. I was happy with the new characters that were introduced and I'm excited to see what they will bring to future books. Not sure what the future will hold for Rina, but I want to continue the ride.

(Tranquilli Bloodline Book 2)
I received this book and without my knowing its the second book in the Tranquilli Bloodline series, I myself am a bit neurotic on reading series all the way through and as i didn't with this book i found it hard to really get in to, i really advised you read the first book haven before reading this one to get the full effect of the series,
Carina or (Rina) Tranquilli is very much still coming to terms with finding out she's half vampire, and even more so that she has recently been close to being killed by the evil Dixon. Now PTSD is a part of her life, complete with Really bad anxiety attacks.
Then Dixon blackmails her into having to drink magic tainted blood over a several day period, or he will kill them, her friends, her life is pretty much turning into hell. and the icing on the cake her soul mate, Alexander, has been ordered to Europe by Tessa, until Carina can learn to control her powers when she's around him. Tessa is one of the most powerful vampires in all of existence,
I really enjoyed Carina's character. Carina has sarcasm and wit in droves which i really liked. She is also very loyal to her friends, almost to the point of causing herself harm. She's twenty something, very rich and stunningly beautiful, a vampire princess, and very much in love with her soul mate Alexander.when Alexander becomes very distant towards her, Carina is really worried and wondering what's going on. Especially When pictures of him hit the internet,
All of the characters from the previous book are back so i gather from searching the internet, but with a few added new characters,
Dixon the Big Baddy of the book wow o wow he is a cruel heartless person who myself i wanted to slap quite a few times :)
I think this book was well written, with good main characters, and im sure fans will not be disappointed with the rest of the series.
In my personal opinion its not the type of book or series for me personally but dont let that put you of, On the plus side this series has plenty of potential for others and fans of Celia Breslin
Destiny picks up right where Haven left off in a thrill ride of blackmail, action, and new characters. Carina Tranquilli, half-vampire princess and kick-ass dance club owner is stuck without her true love, musician and vampire, Alexander. He got in some trouble and has to pay the consequences with his mistress in Italy. Which makes for some sexy Skype time, but Carina has more problems to deal with than her unfulfilled need for her absentee boyfriend. Her nemesis Dixon (ancient, psycho, powerful vampire who wants her for less than pretty things) is back, and he won’t stop until Carina is completely his. Worse, Dixon has already nabbed Carina’s best friend, who will be tortured, abused and sucked dry if Carina tells a soul. And since her uncle is the super-scary vampire nicknamed “The Executioner”, that was probably a smart move on Dixon’s part, but Carina is faced dealing with Dixon alone.
I loved how Carina puts the safety of her friends and family first and will do anything to protect them, even submit herself to her enemy’s plans. I felt helpless and frustrated right along with her. Destiny really took off when there’s a bit of scandal in the Italian tabloids with Alexander. Don’t mess with a half-vampire princess scorned! The addition of werewolves added some more interesting characters to the clan, not to mention the introduction of vampire Fin and his mysterious history with the Tranquilli family (you can learn a little more about Fin in The Vampire Code). I loved seeing Carina on the path of self-discovery with her developing powers. Destiny delivers a great blend of snark, supernaturals, lots of action (violence too), and a bit of sexy-times. Ready for Origins, book three!
WOW, thie series captured my immediate attention from the very first page and after a very long wait I have to say that book two didnt disappoint. Fast paces with great characters and a very interesting storyline with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing right up till the last page. I So look forward to reading more of this series.
I found this just as good as Haven or maybe a little better than. I think because I had gotten to know them previously. A great follow on. I am really looking forward to her reuniting with her father and where that heads. Hopefully book 3 isn't too far away.
Another great read. A good follow on. Dixon is back. Carina has PTSD from his last visit. He has 2 of her friends. He's black mailing her in order to posses her.
