I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

A strong romantic suspense that has a wonderful cast of characters, the great setting of New Orleans around Mardi Gras and a mystery that had me guessing until the end. The romance is between Remi, an ex cop turned P.I. from a large Cajun family on the bayou and Caterine, a member of a dysfunctional, wealthy city family. Believable situations and hot sex, but not over done. The mystery revolves around a greedy, jealous family

I was never a big fan of New Orleans until I began watching The Originals. Now I have learned all kinds of history about the Quarter and find it quite fascinating. Add to that the fact that I speak French and my inlaws are Acadian and reading RUE TOULOUSE was almost a dream come true!

I could not get over how well done the entire thing was. From dialog to characterizations to story line to sex scenes to well, just about everything. I immediately fell tail over teakettle in love with Remi.

This book was hands down, without a doubt, one of the best romantic suspense novels that I have read in a while. The title and cover are what first drew me to the book and after reading the synopsis I was sold.

It has everything: complex characters, amazing setting (Hello! New Orleans) and is full of twists and turns to keep you guessing. You think you have it all sussed out them ‘bam!’ that theory gets blown out of the water.

Four and a half stars, rounded up.

I won't lie to you. What originally drew me into this book was the mask on the cover, and the promise of a masquerade. Then, I found out it was set in New Orleans, and I was sold. I was blown away by this romantic suspense novel and it will definitely be one that I read again.

What stands out for me the most in this book is the setting. I used to spend a lot of time in New Orleans when my dad lived down there, and I became smitten with the city. I miss it every s

is the first Debby Grahl novel I've read, though it is her second publication, and it's romantic mystery suspense story set in New Orleans. Now, my basis for what makes a good romantic mystery suspense novel is that balanced mix of the necessary elements and this book certainly had it in spades. ^.^ Add to that characters that capture your attention and vivid writing that allows yo

Original Blog Post: Blog Tour, eARC Review, Excerpt & #Giveaway: Rue Toulouse by Debby Grahl

I'm always happy when I find a novel that enthralls and captivates me without it being overtly sex-centered; Debby Grahl has done that for me with Rue Toulouse. Written in a highly descriptive and fascinating way, it almost seems like you are walking the streets of New Orleans while the Caterine and Remi are battling her family's greed.

It won't hurt to say that visiting New Orleans is on my bucket li

Caterine Douchette, envied by her family, loved by her friends and in fear of her life finds herself in the safe and loving arms of Remi Michaud, a pirate who lost his heart to an ice princess. Family turmoil, a whodunnit, a new and exotic lover, all with a backdrop of Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Rue Toulouse is a refreshing romance which blends together action, adventure, love, sex and so many other features as well.

I read the summary to this book and I was, if I'm honest, ambivalent. I thought

“Rue Toulouse” is a vivid suspense romance, aiming to keep the reader’s attention to it all the way. The story unfolds in the beautiful scenery of New Orleans right before and during the Mardi Gras, after Katrina has torn the city apart.

Caterine Doucette, is one of the young heirs of the Doucette family, among some other cousins, young men and women. Caterine lost her family to an accident she managed to survive and has been living with her grandparents

I know I say it about a lot of books...but DANG was this one GOOD. The mystery was fantastic, the details and complexity were perfect....I don't have anything bad to say about this book!

Remi and Caterine are absolutely perfect for each other. He lets her stand on her own two feet and still does everything he can to keep her safe from whoever is trying to kill her. It's a wonderful trip through New O

I have this weird thing as a reader. If it takes me a few hours to devour three-hundred pages, then yeah, this book is a winner. I can only consume so much because of a rocking story, and Rue Toulouse just did it for me.
Remi, the hero, yum, Caterine, the heroine, was a great chick.
They were relatable as characters, but more than that, I liked them. Caterine could have been a spoiled miss, but instead, she was a hard worker with tough ethics. She'd been dealt a crappy hand by her so called lovin

Caterine and Remi met like they were in as though they were in a fairy tale. They originally met on the street when Caterine was fighting with her boyfriend. Their second meeting however their second meeting reminded me of a more scandalous version of Cinderella involving a pirate and not a prince (and I am not complaining). They danced, had sex in arbor, and she left a hair clip while running away. The only difference was this pirate knew exactly who his princess was. I was root for these two t ...more

This is the first book I've read by this author and I was very impressed. The descriptions and details really made it feel as if you were in New Orleans experiencing everything along with the characters.

While attending a masquerade ball, Caterine Doucette takes a big step out of her comfort zone and gets a little cozy with a masked pirate. Following an evening of passion Caterine rushes off, embarrassed by her outrageous behavior and never even learns the man's name.

When the family dress shop is left to granddaughter Caterine, who is not the the first born, the family goes into an uproar. Caterine has loved the dress shop all her life. Caterine's life is turned upside-down when her life is threatened. Remi Michaud is the man that will protect her from the criminals that want her dead. Fantastic book, I didn't want to put it down!

When privileged fashion designer Caterine Doucette meets sexy Cajun ex-cop Remi Michaud, things get way hotter than usual in New Orleans around Mardi Gras. Caterine's life is in danger, and Remi is hired to protect her - a job to which he applies himself most personally. Hot, and with a genuine mystery, I didn't know exactly who the baddie was until the ultimate showdown.

I liked the synopsis and was glad to see that the book itself did not disappoint.

While Grandmere's assessment of the relationship near the end was exactly how I feel about most "finding love during a crisis" type books, I liked how there were arguments between the characters and relatively based-in-reality resolutions were found. Tempers flared and they didn't run off to sulk every time, which was nice.

The heroine was pretty level headed most of the time and still strong despite being obviously

I am not a big fan of Romance novels, however, Debby Grahl has actually written a Mystery novel that includes some very steamy romance!

Ms Grahl has the gift of providing back story without becoming pedantic. Our first look at Caterine and her family is when we learn that she was orphaned at a very young age, and taken in by her Grandmother. Definitely not folded into the loving bosom of her family, Caterine finds herself at odds with cousins who cannot u

Rue Toulouse was a very good story. Had it not been for all of the sex, it could have been a cozy mystery. And man, there was a lot of sex. There aren’t too many books that I have read that truly burn up the pages the way that this one did. It’s all the more impressive considering the fact that this was a mystery. The mystery was just as impressive. Even though it was apparent that there was a small circle of people that were responsible for the

I loved this book! In fact it was so good I read all 320 pages in just two sittings, I completely lost track of time as the pages turned themselves and I was drawn deeper and deeper.
Caterine is a lovely character who you instantly fall in love with, she has a heartbreaking history and whilst she has grown up in a life of privilege, it has also been a household full of hatred and venom with very little love which has left her very insecure and full of self d

I must say upon first reading this book I was a bit apprehensive as the writing seemed a bit 'young', as if the author's target group is young adult. Putting this aside and keeping myself open to the style of a new author, I soon got engrossed in the web of romance, the historical charm of New Orleans and the intrigue of mystery and greed.

This being my first Debbie Grahl book, I found the dialogue somewhat dragging, and Caterine’s personality confused me a little.
