I write mostly MM porngasmic fluff— sometimes funny, sometimes outrageous (just like me).

I believe you should always read what you love. Personally, I can't read anything that will tug at my heartstrings, leave me hanging on for the next installment, or gloss over the sexy bits (they're the best part). I love me some tasteful dirty talk, and a book that can make me laugh will get 5*!

Though it's only been a year since I fell in love with the MM romance genre, it's become my next new addiction. Paranormal and taboo reads are my favorites.

In a past life, I was most likely a tall fitness guru with an immaculate home and a thriving garden, which totally explains my "been there, done that" attitude.

I'm currently either reading or writing the next random book that strikes my fancy (or both).

What are you up to?

Still reading my bio?

Why? I'm not that interesting. Go find a smutty MM romance to read. You won't be disappointed...

Lots 'o luv,
AJ

You know the moment when your hot neighbor invites himself over to watch the hockey game. And you had no idea your roommate was there until you hear him having sex in his room.

So you start speaking louder, slamming and clangging things around to drown out the noises.

"Fuck, Is that your roommate, bro?" Ben asked, clearly not quite as hearing impaired as I'd hope.
"Yeah," I mumbled, hanging my head in defeat."

No? Well neither do I. But it sure made for a funny, hot, and sweet short! Definitely 34 pages that will be worth your time.

Now this was quite a sexy story, although very unrealistic.

description

If you’re looking for something real, you might want to skip this one. This one is just for when you’re in the mood for a short, sexy read.

Bryan has invited his neighbor Ben over to watch a game. Both are quite startled when sex noises begin to emerge from Bryan’s roommate’s bedroom. The roommate is quite vocal and Bryan feels really uncomfortable.

But after this Bryan can’t seem to stop thinking about Ben, and sex, and sex with Ben. The two form a close friendship, but neither is gay. So why can’t Bryan stop thinking about him.

When Bryan goes out with his roommate to a gay club he is quite surprised to see Ben there. Now this scene was VERY unrealistic and weird. Bryan sees Ben After that the two cannot deny being totally gay for each other.

Hot sex ensues.

**Grammar**

Ok, this book was absurd, but I liked the end so....

All starts with Bryan meeting his neighbor Ben on the stairs. They exchange few words, like always, but the only difference is that this time Bryan decides, since they both like hockey,to ask the other man to come and watch the game in his apartment. Bryan is sure that his gay roommate isnt home, and this is the only reason why he asked the other man to come. He loves his roommate, he is one of his best friends, but when he is home he is never alone, and when he is in his room he is always with a different lover and likes to narrate all the things they are during while having sex....
Bryan is sure that Tim is out, well he is wrong. They are watching the game when the telltale sounds of sex start coming from Tim's room. Bryan hopes that the volume of the game will mask it, but he is not that lucky. Ben asks him if that is his roommate and in the end Bryan explains to him that he is used to this, but he can understand if he is shocked. They are both hetero, but hearing those sounds is arousing them...or maybe hearing those sounds and watching each other is the real reason.
They start joking about it and decide to watch a porn, since they are both horny now, but Bryan tells him that the one paying for the porn channel is Tim, and so there will be only gay porns. As joke Ben changes on one of those channels. They watch few minutes of it, but then Ben gets up and without a real explanation leaves the apartment. Bryan doesnt know what to think, maybe Ben now thinks that Bryan too is gay like Tim.
Luckily the next day, when they meet again on the stairs, all seems ok. Ben asks him if they can watch again the game together and Bryan agrees. Since that day, they start a sort of ritual. Is a day like any other when Ben asks Bryan if they will watch the game together also the next saturday, but the other man replies that he cant since is Tim's birthday and he and his other friends are taking him to a few gay bars, something they do every year for his birthday.

Till now the book was ok, but then i saw this scene and i got mad.
Bryan and his other friends are in a gay bar.Bryan hopes that this will be the last one. He will drink something and then say goodbye to all and leave. Or so he thinks...
He is ready to leave when he walks near a couch and hears a familiar voice. He must be wrong bcs he is sure that this person cant be in this club. He walks towards the moaning and what he sees, shocks him. Ben is sitting on a couch and a man is giving him a bj. When Ben and Bryan's eyes meet, Ben tells the man btw his legs to stop and leave. Bryan is aroused and decides to continue what the other man was doing....there, where all can see them.

Well yes, the others are doing the same thing, but there is still a chance that someone could see them...come on... and anyway 2 seconds before another man was sucking him, his spit is still on Ben's dick... the man that u love Bryan, was having oral sex for his first time with a man with SOMEONE ELSE. I would be furious, but you Bryan without asking explanations about why he is here...you decide that u should continue the oral sex, and his also your first time giving head.

Only after that scene, they decide to go home and continue what they started, in a bed. They have never been with a man...but Bryan (that was hetero ony few hours before) asks for "harder" and "faster" like a pro.
I'm happy that they finally got together, but how it happened doesnt make any sense.....
The book ends with the author telling us that the next day they have sex in Bryan's apartment shouting like Tim did on that famous first day they watched the game, and they do this bcs they want to be heard.. I see a future with a lot of exhibitions for them....
In the epilogue we see them 8 months later, being still happy and living together.

Idk what to think..I rated this book 3 stars bcs i like the GFY theme, but this story was short and the plot didnt make sense. Was really ridiculous. At least the scene in the club happened before they started going out together, also if in that moment we already know that they feel something for each other.

A hot shortie, however unrealistic. The characters were not much developed, but this is pretty much PWP-porn-without-plot. It read like a not-so-straight-guy's porn fantasy.

I enjoyed it, because hotness.

Rated down because of br />
Ugh.
That being said, this is PWP, porn fantasy, with the emphasis on fantasy!

Recommended? Sure.
Short and hot.

I received this book via Goodreads' Don't Buy My Love program in exchange for an honest review.

Bryan and Tim are long-time friends and current roommates. Tim is an out-gay male, and Bryan is straight. One night Bryan agrees to let their neighbor, Ben, come over to watch a hockey game--unaware that Tim is already at home with a partner. While Ben and Bryan watch the game, Tim's obnoxious, loud cries of ecstasy infiltrate the living room.

Bryan is mortified, Ben is shocked, and Tim is well-satisfied. There's some awkward conversation, deflection and a brief stint of Ben and Bryan checking out Tim's gay porn cable channel...leaving Bryan and Ben with the uncomfortable realization of sexual arousal.

The next time Bryan encounters Bens, he's all sunshine and smiles. They agree to watch the next hickey game together, and another, and another. Their friendship blossoms, but Bryan starts to fantasize about Ben, and is ashamed. Well, at least until Ben turns up in the same gay bar where Bryan and his friends are celebrating Tim's birthday.

It's a quickie GFY story with a fast-paced storyline and feel-good ending. Delicious smexytimes, and a cute opposites-attract pairing.

(Please note: A copy of Just A Game was provided to me by Goodreads' M/M Romance Group's Don't Buy My Love free for review program and the author in exchange for an honest review.)

It took me a couple of days to pull together my review, not because of any real issue. It was more a matter that the story is so short and pretty-much to the point that I struggle with what constitutes a meaningful review.

I enjoyed this short story a fair bit.

It starts with an apartment neighbor, Ben, all but inviting himself over to watch a hockey game. Bryan (the pseudo-willing inviter) believes that his roommate, Tim (an out and proud gay bottom), is out of the apartment, and that the game and beer can be enjoyed without incident. At some point during the game, Tim's presence is revealed when Bryan and Ben hear loud obvious sex talk coming from Tim's room. The Bryan tries to ignore Tim while he hopes that Ben is hard of hearing or at least also ignoring Tim's sex-capades. As the nature of the sex is revealed to Ben and the game finishes, some expected awkwardness between the two straight men ensues.

I thought the writing was pretty good for this story (though there is one use of heavily instead of heavenly along with a few other grammar-y issues). I thought the sex scene was fun and hot if a little unrealistic for a couple of gay/anal sex virgins. I didn't feel like the relationship was rushed because the men had become friends over what I feel are a few, if not several, weeks of watching games together. I suppose that Bryan's low-key acceptance of his sexual attraction to Ben can be mostly overlooked as he's been Tim's friend for several years. In the end, the story is clearly told as a flashback of how the Bryan and Ben came together for their HEA (or at least HFN).

Sweet. Low angst. Low on some emotional/physical realism.

P.S. I did like how Ben wanted .

This book was provided to me by the author through the DBML Program in exchange for an honest review.

Most people who follow my reviews know my hot button is GFY. I just love it! So put together two hot young guys, neither of whom has ever experienced sex with a man, stir in a few extra hormones from listening to a live male on male sex session going on in the next room, let sit, and then bring them to a gay club where it’s no holds barred and you get a double helping of GFY that’s sweet and delicious.

Bryan and his new neighbor, Ben, get to know each other over a shared interest in watching hockey on Bryan’s cable TV. Apparently Ben’s cable is out, and when they strike up a conversation in the hallway, Bryan finds himself inviting Ben over, and then over and over again. Bryan is a bit disturbed when he notices that Ben sprouted a hardon when he heard Ben’s roommate having sex, and more disturbed that the thought of Ben being hard is making him hard in turn. Over time, the sexual tension increases and when he spots Ben on the receiving end of a blowjob in the gay club, rather than turn away, he turns toward Ben.

What I liked most about this story is that the author was quickly able to build the MCs characters fully enough for me to be engaged with them and rooting for them to get together. Though the premise is far-fetched, the execution is so good that it just doesn’t matter. It’s fast-paced, short, humorous, hot, and provided me with a happy smile that stayed with me long after I finished the story.

I’d recommend this one to GFY lovers and to those who enjoy a short but hot story that would be perfect for an afternoon at the beach or cuddled up before the fireplace.

Just a Game is by a new author so when the request came in I waffled quite a bit before accepting the book for review. I'm glad I said "yes"! This is what I'd call a fantasy erotic romance. Fantasy as in something you'd fantasize about, not fantasy as in unicorns and fairies. It is double GFY and smokin HOT!

I don't want to spoil anything in this short story so I'm just going to make a few observations and let you decide if it's right for you.

My very first thought as I began reading was "whoa, Ben & Tim?" (MCs from Jay Bell's "Something Like...." series) but it didn't take but a page or two to get over that shock and it never crossed my mind again. Tim is not one of the two main characters, he's Bryan's roommate.

I mentioned fantasy earlier. You're going to need to suspend reality just a bit here in order for this to work. I expected this going in because I knew it was a short story and I knew it was GFY. If you know that ahead of time, like I did, it will allow you to enjoy the story without the expectation that it's true to life. I hate mentioning this but I feel I need to; there's unprotected (bareback) sex in this story. Again, I read this as fantasy so it didn't bother me but I know it's a deal breaker for some.

There's not a lot of romance here but there is a touch and it ends with a HFN.

If you're intrigued and you're willing to give this a chance, I don't think you'll be disappointed. This story is available at Smashwords and Amazon for $.99. I enjoyed it and look forward to more from this author.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

Bryan is a straight guy living with a gay roommate. When their new neighbor, Ben, asks to come over to watch a hockey game Bryan is excited, until he realizes his roommate Tim is home and having very loud sex with another man. Hilarity ensues. Along with some sexy times.

I really enjoyed this short story. Even though it's short, I felt that I got everything I wanted. First, you have to know that it's a smutty short story ie. erotica, so you're going to get some porntastic dirty talk and things will move fairly quickly. Even given that, I loved Bryan and Ben. The opening scene where Bryan listened, mortified, to Tim loudly being plowed in the bedroom had me laughing out loud at my desk. Yes, while I was supposed to be working. Don't judge me. We had a decent bit of pacing where even though Bryan and Ben realized they were turned on, they didn't fall into bed right away. I LOVED the scene at the party, and the result of it. I will say that you have to suspend disbelief a bit, as these supposedly 'straight' men take to gay sex like ducks to water. Rimming, kissing, total acceptance after their first time having sex with another man, no problem! I can't complain because I wanted that kiss and that post-sex warm fuzziness and I got it.

The ending was nicely done, reintroducing some of the humor we saw in the beginning. All in all, a hot short story that bypasses a lot of the more common 'gay for you' tropes, due to page length. 3.75 ish rounded to 4.

I received this book free from the author in return for a honest review.

I gave this book 4.5 stars; it was so close to getting 5 stars. My only problem was that there wasn’t more for me to continue on and read about these two. It was so refreshing to read a short story with little to know drama and have the main characters relationship progress fast and to the point. None of the I-love-you/I-hate-you sex game.

Ben is the tall, manly, blue collar neighbor without cable. Bryan is the smaller, business office guy with a loud, flamboyant, gay roommate – and working cable. Some people might not think a hockey game is something to get to know your neighbors over, but being a MN girl, it damn near makes you family.

This 40 page EPub could get stretched into a full length book and I would be perfectly happy. Great find!

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review through the DBML program.

Just a game is a quick short story about a pair of guys who think they are straight until they meet each other.

Bryan lives with his gay room mate Tim. One day he runs into his neighbor Ben and they start chatting about hockey. Ben invites himself over to Bryan's to watch the game. They end up hearing Tim in the middle of sexcapades over the volume of the game.

Bryan and Ben start meeting up regularly to watch the games as friends. Then one day, Bryan can't make it to watch a game because he's going to celebrate Tim's birthday at a gay bar. Bryan runs into Ben at the bar and they leave together.

The story is a very quick read and very funny. Some readers may not go for the nearly insta-love between the two, but it works in this story. The biggie for me was that insta-acceptance of their attraction for each other. I would have liked to see more of a struggle between the two MC in their acceptance of their attraction toward a male instead of female lover.

With all that said, the story is cute and funny and worth reading. I give it a 3.5 rounded up to 4. I think it could be even better with a longer story and more interaction between the two MC.

This made me absolutely smile from beginning to end. It was short, but funny and enjoyable read from this new favorite author of mine. This was a perfect short to get me out of my book funk. I feel like I have been reading one 200+ pages angst filled book and quickly moving on to another. I needed something funny and light but definitely hot. This book fit the bill. I can't believed I kept putting this book off. I like the banter of the characters and the flow of the story. I will say I was disappointed that it ended at 83% but only because I thought I getting more. I wanted more time with these character and think that what made this a great short from a good short. After reading this story, will immediately spark a quest for more of this author's work.

Quick and dirty! Sometimes that's just what I need. Just a Game delivered on that front. The only think that bothered me about this story was Ben's decision . I understand both Ben and Bryan were struggling with their attraction to each other, but I didn't expect that at all. Unexpected twists can be a good thing too.
Listening to your roommate bang while you have company...that needs to be handled. I found it interesting that Bryan didn't even try to put a stop to the nonsense!

I look forward to reading more by this author. I enjoyed the writing and would recommend this book to others.

I don't read that many m/m or gay for you books, but when I do I through a stage where I have to read them all the time. And, this is what happened with this book. This book was short and sweet, and I loved it.

There was a little humor that really had me laughing. But, most of all this book was HOT. Like some series fanning yourself hotness. I really enjoyed this quick read, and I would like to read more books by this author.

This was a short, sexy read that was truly sweet. The main characters were adorable. My only complaint is that the story was too short. Put in more plot, and go for the novel, AJ. I'll buy it. :)

Shorts are always hard for me to review because by the time I reach the end I’m either not satisfied or enjoyed it and wished it was longer. Just a Game was delightfully perfect. It was the perfect length after reading full length books, the right amount of humor, and even gave me a couple of WTF moments. When neighbors Bryan and Ben make a plan to watch a hockey event on cable at Bryan’s apartment, neither one was prepared for the sounds coming from Bryan’s openly gay roommate’s bedroom.Just a Game is a humorous M/M short reminiscent of Wallbanger by Alice Clayton to me. Embarrassed by the noises, Bryan tries to mute Tim's loud lovemaking sounds by increasing the volume on the TV and slamming cabinets shut while in the kitchen. Unfortunately, the men cannot escape the obscenities. To make matters slightly more interesting, Ben is under the impression Tim is straight and doesn’t show any signs of being uncomfortable by the sounds coming from his room but rather in awe of him. Needless to say, Ben is shocked to discover the phrases being called out are from Tim.

Just a Game is a delightful, quick, fun read. If you're looking for some laughs and a few surprises check out this cute short.

I wanted to like this...really! Gay for you is in my top 5 favorite m/m tropes of all time. However, this one missed the mark for me.

1.5 stars

The voice of the book is Bryan. I do not get this guy at all. The way the author writes seems to be a stream of consciousness from Bryan. Even the descriptions of the other characters including Ben (the other MC) are voiced through him and he is not very nice about it.

The biggest problem for me is the stereotypical 'straight' guy mean attitude from Bryan. I did not care for it. "He (Ben) was rough around the edges and totally out of place in the trendy condo building...Ben was a scratch my balls and spit on the ground while I lay these bricks kinda guy." and "What else do straight Canadian men do on a Friday night other than drink beer and watch hockey, right?" And of course the biggest humdinger of all "...Not REAL men like Ben" WHAT? This feels highly homophobic to me. There are examples of this meanness on practically every page of this short story.

After all that, the 'romance' is very unbelievable to me. From the fantasy scene before anything happens to the bar scene to the bedroom scene I do not buy these guys or their romance at all.

And to top it off...no condom? Really? And the justification? "...we were diligent about protection and getting tested" with the very next sentence being permission to go without the condom. Very diligent guys.

The sex was very smooth and trouble-free for two straight guys having man sex for the first time.

All in all I just didn't care for this one.

This book was provided for free by the author in exchange for an honest review.

This is a really sweet short which seems really complete. Generally in most shorts there is an element that makes the story seem unfinished in some way but this particular story seems to cover all bases and the story ends smoothly instead of being forced to end smoothly.

This book has almost perfected the art of inserting information between the lines because even-though the story only spans a few pages the author manages to convey so much through his words. What I loved about this story is that the author doesn't bother unnecessarily with descriptions and backgrounds but somehow is able to portray his characters through their actions with the minimal amount of words and that was so beautiful because it managed to make me feel like I had known the characters all along.

This story was so funny especially the first game night was just hilarious. I loved all the characters Ben, Bryan and Tim they were so good and all of them made me laugh. It is a simple story without the drama and the complications which really brings out the characters.

When this book ended it left me with a smile and a lasting impression of Ben's blush =)

Bryan and Ben are almost complete opposites. Whereas Bryan is a corporate wannabe, Ben is as blue collar as they come and yet, they hit it off in a mutual like for hockey. Since Ben can’t watch the game at his apartment, he asks his neighbor Bryan if they can watch the game at Bryan’s apartment and that he’d contribute with the beer. Bryan agrees, but unbeknownst to him his roommate is at their apartment, too, having loud, very vocal sex. They both react physically to the sounds and Ben practically escapes back to his own apartment.

Despite the rocky start, their friendship blossoms and they start watching hockey games together regularly, however, friendship isn’t the only thing that grows between them.

This was a truly enjoyable read. Despite it being so short, it didn’t feel as if I was being cheated out of more story as it happens with some other books.

Both Bryan and Ben are very likable and although I wasn’t sure how it would play out, I was certainly rooting for them to have their HEA. Never mind that I’m a sucker for the whole GFY trope, multiply it by two, and I was in heaven! The chemistry between the two of them was great and the sex was very hot too! Definitely a fun, recommendable read!

This is a short read and it is funny, ridiculous, erotic and totally, unexpectedly, enjoyable!

We have two seemingly straight guys who end up sitting on a couch, listening to the roommate have some fun with a lover and they watch, or try to watch, a game. When that fails, they go for porn tv but the show is all about gay porn.

bwahahhaaaaaaa

This is so short and it was over so fast but it was so funny and uber HOT! I just wanted more.

My request is this: AJ Ridges, if you could please write an expanded version of this, I would totally love it! I also want more scenes with Tim especially heheheeee

And I can't stop laughing! heheeeee

What else do straight Canadian men do on a Friday night other than drink beer and watch hockey, right?

This was a very quick but fun read. Despite the page length, the author manages to keep the momentum of the story high. The relationship building happens offstage but the description of it enough that we feel a true bond...dare we say Man Crush...builds between Ben and Bryan. A series of awkward neighborly conversations leads to a voyeuristic encounter and is following by slowly building tension between the MCs that finally culminates in HOT SEX on a platter.

I liked the honesty of the characters that went from I want to have sex with somebody to I want to have sex with you...and I'm not bothered by the whole penis thing. The author doesn't spare the rod and makes sure each scene (hallway/living room/bedroom/club)is satisfying.

I almost died when Ben asked about Tim...and wasn't sure if the author was going to tease a threesome.

I also liked the club scene because it sort of bypassed any "but-I'm-straight" conversations.

I'm looking forward to reading more by the author.

Oh boy. What can I say about this book except that it's a little guilty pleasure of a story with much hotness and little real plot. Just a Game is a completely unrealistic story of two straight men who's "gay for you" relationship moves from watching hockey games together to full-on sex at dizzying speed. The two main characters, Bryan and Ben, are surprised by their reactions after listening to Bryan's gay roommate having loud sex with a hook-up. Both men start thinking about each other and somehow end up at the same gay bar at the same time, which always happens to straight guys. From there it's on to bed!

Except for one scene to make a germ-phoebe cringe, the "encounters" between Ben and Bryan are well-done. Some of the dialog is pretty funny, but some is right out a bad porn. Just a Game is so good-natured and cheeky that it's easy to overlook the implausibility of the story. This was a fun, lusty romp that achieves what it sets out to do. Fun. Yup. Hot. Yup. Worth checking out. Yup.
