Secret Shadow

Rate this book
By all appearances Lawanda’s father was a conscientious Christian and dedicated family man, but this carefully cultivated image was far from the truth. Lawanda knew all too well what her father was really like. Living in the dark and secret shadow of her father’s abuse and hypocrisy, Lawanda suffered silently, nursing a terrible load of anger and rebellion. Though not for children or young teens, this true story offers hope to older teens and adults living with dark secrets or struggling to accept the restoration and peace found under the shadow of the Almighty.

This is a really good book. A very well written book about redemption and the one step forward-two steps back that can a lot of times describe our relationship with Christ. I like that the author leaves out sordid details but gives just enough detail that you know what horrible experiences the main character has gone through. This book has actually given me hope for my own walk with Jesus, and has really pushed me to evaluate myself for any bitterness or unforgiveness. I definitely recommend this book to anyone from teenager and up.

Captivating book.
Could not put it down.
Not for the young or faint of heart.

It creates an alertness to what goes on behind closed doors and not to take outer appearances for granted. Praying "Lawanda" is continuing in the peace and love of Jesus Christ.

He heals the broken hearted.

She says what we all know goes on in secret. I hope it brings more of these things to light.
