Pro quarterback, Ethan Christopher thought he had found his home when he met rock musician, Mia Devereux. She was the welcomed distraction in his football-focused life.
Things may not have been perfect. Their individual careers made being together difficult. Her touring. His away schedule. As her success grew, they spent more extended periods apart.
But at the end of the day, he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Only her.
When Mia met Ethan, she felt a connection unlike any she’d ever felt. She gave him more of herself than she thought was even possible.
But she knew it wasn’t enough. There was a lot she didn’t share, couldn’t give him.
An event two decades in her past made sure of that.
Those demons that she’d so carefully tucked away wanted out. As Mia struggled with the stress of touring and being apart from Ethan, her defenses weakened, allowing the demons to fight their way to the surface, leaving her in a vulnerable place. A place where bad choices were made.
Choices that both of them will regret.
Can Mia and Ethan's love survive her past? Or will it fall apart under the weight of her choices?
Nerd turned writer. The force is strong in this girl.
During the day, Ryleigh is an analyst, but even then, she’s writing, sneakily crafting scenes on post-it notes. She's been told she's a bit of a geek...some say nerd. She'll agree to it all. She loves music. It's been a force in her life for as long as she can remember. Her love of Star Wars and superheroes has probably been going on just as long...see, this is where the geek/nerd thing comes into play. But, most of all, Ryleigh loves the written word. She's been writing for a long time. Her first story came to her during one of her history classes. She wrote it in the margins of her notebook in teeny tiny letters so no one knew that she was writing a book instead of taking notes on 16th Century Europe. The first 65% of this book is a solid 3 stars, but the remaining 45% is an amazing 5 stars!!
Give this book a try guys, its a nice NA book which gets real and emotional towards the ending, which is beautiful. The only problem is, thats its a little long, so if one doesn't mind skimming a littttle to reach the amazing emotional parts, its a good read x
A new-to-me-author and series to start. I liked it - but didn't love it. At times it felt a little stiff and repetitively challenged (a few more contractions would certainly have helped in the dialogue), and I had a tough time warming up to our rock star female lead. And up to one certain point, I thought the male lead (a professional football quarterback) was pretty close to perfect -- but alas, he was not. These two definitely have some work to do before their relationship will make it to a happily-ever-after. There are several characters that add depth to the storyline in a strong and powerful manner, yet they also don't do anything to help this trouble relationship work either.
Cliffhanger alert! Yes, it doesn't end on a friendly note. But the good news is that the next installment is available and waiting for me to one-click.

Review by Lisa Kane
Mia Devereux is just on the edge of becoming a rock star. She and her band have tons of talent, have been playing regular gigs and have had some interest from record labels. It’s going to happen and happen soon. As far as her personal life goes, her prospects are not quite as bright. Her mother abandoned her and her father when Mia was a little kid and her father has lots of control issues. She has had a friends with benefits relationship on and off with her best friend Luke. It seemed as though they were about to make things more permanent but Luke found out he had fathered a little girl, Kaitlyn, who was 6 months old, by a former girlfriend, Taylor about a year and a half after he was dating Mia. He’s in communications for the Indianapolis Flash, a football team in the United Football League, and moved to Indianapolis from Chicago to be closer to Kaitlyn. Their relationship is more friends than anything and they recently agreed to keep it platonic.
She realized that she missed their friendship more than the sex. Not to say she didn't miss that, too. Hell, it was fantastic, and that was one of the reasons why it had taken them so long to get to this final ending point.
While at a work function, Luke introduces Mia to Ethan Christopher. He’s the hotshot quarterback for the Indianapolis Flash. Mia knows who he is, having followed his career-his contract is well known-one hundred million over five or six years. His football career is the stuff dreams are made of.
The two have an instant attraction for each other. They realize they have some good things going for them and start to hang out.
"So, are you just in town for this party or ..." he asked, leaving the ending of that sentence up to her.
He surprised her with his question. He couldn't possibly be interested in her, could he? Come on, it's Ethan Christopher. He could have anyone he wanted. Tonight's party had an abundance of beautiful girls. What would he ever want with her? As a matter of fact, why was he still here by her side? He was probably just polite until Luke returned, if he ever did.
In spite of the chemistry between them, Ethan puts the brakes on his urge to take things further between them.
He knew he could be doing that in a matter of minutes, but something stopped him. His parents loved to talk about how they immediately knew that they had found "the one." Ethan always knew his parents loved each other and wanted his own version of their story. Being with Mia tonight, he felt it...that feeling deep within him that said she was it. He didn't know whether or not that was true, but he knew he wanted to learn more about her, mentally and..physically.
Just about the time that things heat up, Mia’s band, Last Star, is picked up by a record label and she has to leave to go out to LA.
This is just the start of a long distance relationship. Much of the story is about their lengthy absences from each other and how it affects them. Ethan can’t seem to get his head in the game and the team starts to lose games as a result. Mia goes back to long ago bad habits and uses alcohol and drugs to keep the loneliness at bay.
Half-time wasn't even over and every time they showed Ethan on screen, the more Mia felt the desolation envelope her. She had enough. She couldn't stand feeling the way she was anymore.
The story takes place in 2006-2007 and it’s a bit of a kick to read about My Space and cell phones that are just starting to get tech savy. I haven’t figured out why the time line is where it is, that may be revealed at another point.
Mia and Ethan’s relationship was super sweet, almost too even keeled at times. I kept thinking where is the angst, at what point will things pick up and then-BAM! Be careful what you wish for-the last 25-30% of the book is so full of angst at one point I was looking for a way off this crazy train. Although it’s told in dual POV’s the reader is not aware of every move that each has made and boy have they been keeping secrets from each other! Clearly Mia has substance issues and needs an intervention. But Ethan, well this good ole Southern boy who loves to call Mia “Suga,” well I could throat punch him for what he’s been up to! (at least let me get one swift kick to his junk!)
Let me warn you that this is a cliffy and has the mother of all cliff hanger endings. I kept thinking how the hell can this be sorted out, and I’m thanking the book gods that we don’t have to wait too long. According to the author, if things go as planned, a Spring release is set for Still With You. Believe me, my kindle is ready to down load it at a moment’s notice. You can bet the family is having take out that night!
The Never Over You series was one hell of an emotional roller coaster. Mia and Ethan were the king and queen of miscommunication, which resulted in us following them for several years as Mia spiraled out of control because one or both of them refused to open their mouth about exactly how they felt. It was frustrating a lot of the time, but by the time we get to the end of book 3 we discover that despite everything they had gone through this couple fought for their HEA and learned what they needed to do to ensure their relationship never faltered again.
For most of the series, Mia's life was in constant chaos. She was living her dream, but at the same time her demons did a hell of a job pulling her under. She bravely fought those demons, but when things between her and Ethan hit a rough patch, she generally let the demons pull her under. It's hard to follow someone as they self destruct, but you hope at some point that self destruction is going to serve as a wake up call to that person. That was the case with Mia. It was hard for Ethan to stand by as the love of his life falter, for Luke to see his best friend destroy herself and for her bandmates to worry about what she was doing. As I read the middle part of the series, I was right there with them. Wondering when Mia was going to get it together. She eventually does, but I knew as she fought to overcome everything, she was going to have to learn how to battle back those demons when life threw her a curve ball.
Ethan and Mia's relationship had it's fair share of bumps caused by Mia, but towards the end of the series, it's Ethan that threw things into chaos. His inability to communicate with Mia, talk about how he really feels during certain situations, led to a huge breakdown in their relationship. It was during this breakdown that we saw just how strong Mia had become. Ethan was the strong one. The one that was Mia's support line. But with her trust in Ethan shaky, she proved she could be strong for herself and for her family, if she's fighting for the right thing. This was an interesting series. It had me on a bit of a rollercoaster, with moments where I was happy, pissed off or wondering what the hell was going on. Author Ryleigh Andrews took us on a journey with Ethan and Mia. They had real problems. Real struggles. And in the end, showed how a real couple has to work at their relationship, no matter how much love they have.
This was a great Facebook recommendation. A series I'm glad I read.

Bring Me You... Did you ever wish that that special someone would magically appear in your life? You know, the one we ONLY read in books... that special someone that will replace all your fears with dreams, make you cry happy tears instead of sad ones, and make you smile from ear to ear?! Mia, Ethan, Luke, and Allie are my new best friends. I wanted to jump in the book hug and kiss, scream and shout, and laugh my butt off along with them. Their friendship is golden. We all deserve friends like them because...sorry you will have to find out! ;) What do you think happens when the beautiful, lonely Last Star singer Mia meets the sexy, down to earth famous Flash football player Ethan? Lighting bolts strike, sparks fly, chemistry combusts and then...sorry, the rest is for you to find out in Bring Me You!! :) ☆☆☆☆☆ I will give you this...she is definitely his last star and he is the flash of life she needs. Will that be enough?☆☆☆☆☆ You will not be disappointed with this debut book from Ryleigh Andrews. Did I just say debut book?! I have no idea where she has been hiding because this book is amazing from start to finish and left me wanting, NO begging for MORE! Bring Me You will suck you in, make you cry, laugh, and thank God you read it. Congratulations Mrs. Andrews this book deserves golden honors in my eyes. The Last Star and The Flash have left a tattoo on my heart...the sky is definitely full of stars and you are one of them! Can't wait for more!
I'm not even sure where to start. I read this book in one sitting. Could not put it down. It was so beautiful, so sweet, so heartbreaking, so brutal!
Mia is like so many other women I've known. Beautiful, talented, amazing, and completely unaware of her own worth. You come into this story with a vibrant, excited woman. She is just coming to grips with the fact that her friends-with-benefits relationship has slid into the friend-only zone, and is introduced to sexy sports star Ethan. Sparks fly. Oh, do they fly! It's lust at first sight, but after spending quality time together, you just know that these two are meant to be.
One little problem, though. He's got a busy game schedule. She's an emerging, new rock star. Star crossed lovers at their finest, with never-syncing schedules and missed opportunities. Dealing with the loneliness of life on the road, and all the demons of her past, Mia just keeps sinking further and further into her depression. This hurt so much to read. The pain, the anxiety, the self loathing. All the while knowing that true love was waiting, and all she had to do was reach out and take her happiness.
I hated the ending of this book. Absolutely hated it. Not because it was bad, but because it was over! There was still so much story to tell. I need the rest of that story! ~ George, 5 stars
Where to even start with this book...... Honestly this story is amazing! All the emotions that pull you in and make you feel every single part of them. Mia, Ethan and Luke really spin this story and keep you there with them on the journey they take. If you have ever been in a long distance relationship you know that it isn't easy, it's frustrating. You will really understand Mia and Ethan if you have. There is not a book I have read like this. The laughs, the happy tears, the what I call F5 of ugly crying that this story brought out of me. You will scream, you will want to hug and choke each of these characters lol. I can't wait for more from Ryleigh Andrews and hope you all get on this ride. She has outdone herself in this debut novel and is setting the bar early on.
I am giving this book 3.5 stars-- I did have to skim a lot through this book. I found some parts boring. I thought Luke would be a bigger part of the book and I was wrong. I hate cliffy books but good thing book 2 is coming out soon! I think this is a great debut novel for Ryleigh. My only thing is too much back and forth. Overall, it was good!
Jan 23, 2015Stephanie Powell rated it 5 of 5 stars This story was amazing I really enjoyed it but there was one thing that I didn't and it's just me. I am not a fan of a story when it has a narrator feel. I still got dual pov's but it had a vibe about it. But other than that I loved the story it really drew you in to the characters. Mia was this beautiful caring person and not selfish at all. I kept asking myself why is she moving on without Luke they had chemistry from the first time I read about them together. And kaitlyn she loves that little girl so much. But then she meets Eathan and I have a love/hate relationship with him. On one hand I can't forgive him for not seeing or doing what he did. To me he was selfish and never really put her first. When she was so weak and honestly he seen that. He can't act like he didn't it's infuriating because again I love him when he was around her he was perfect. But he should have seen the signs. To me he is the reason for all of this and no she is still keeping the past from him. But he hasn't even been completely honest with her. Seriously I was so shocked at what he did then when he finally got his balls back and did what he should have done to begin with he judges her. No not right at all Mia deserves somebody to appreciate her and to know her it doesn't matter what he didn't know she kept telling him she needed him. So at this moment I can only hope that she moves on to someone else. Even Luke he screwed with her mind anybody would have self-doubt even without the parent issue. I don't blame Mia at all she got swept away in the darkness and nobody saved her he should have been there. OK if I continue then I will give away spoilers and I am trying not to. But overall I am very excited to see what happens I believe she deserves the world. And this is a debut for this author so good like I said only issue is that narrator vibe which is why I can't give it a 5 stars.(this was before lol) Because most of the book had that feeling until you get towards 30% left in the book. Then in felt more like them speaking but you still could tell but not as much. But the writing itself is really great. So here I am back 24 hours later because I have done nothing but think about this book. What does that mean well simple I am changing my 4 stars to 5 the reason because its still affecting me. I listened to the playlist this morning every song made me want to be there for Mia.
“Ethan?” she whispered against his ear, her hands tugging up on his shirt.
“Mia?” he asked, his breath hard against her warm face.
“Hmm?” she replied languidly, lightly stroking his neck.
“I think I really like you.”
I am a big sucker for discovering new authors and reading their debut novels‚ new writing styles and what sets them apart from each other.
Ryleigh truly wrote something stupendous that it makes hard to believe that this is her debut novel. She wrote a story that stands for itself. Story different and so unique that it is magical.
Bring Me You is filled with rollercoaster emotions and characters that you can´t get enough of. I was hooked fast and not in a least bit disappointed. I just kept craving more and more.
This book ends with a cliffhanger. I know that a lot of readers have a major problem with that but I am not one of them. It just makes me more impatient and eager for the next one.
He was falling for this small woman—hard.
Okay, bad choice of words.
He chuckled quietly and squeezed her tight. She moaned softly against his chest, snuggling even closer.
Yup—definitely falling for her.
It was so easy to connect both Mia and Ethan. I am obsessed with the way the characters were developed. How Ryleigh dug deeper into their personalities‚ how she crafted them and the way she brought them to life that seemed so effortless but I know how hard it must have been.
Ryleigh rocked her debut novel. Eagerly waiting for the next book hoping that it will also be rocking awesome.

I won this book in a giveaway from the author herself and I loved every bit of it. I fell in love with the characters, page after page and couldn't put it down. This book is about Mia Devereaux, a singer that along with her band make it through the big industry watching their dreams come true. And Ethan Christopher, a famous and definitely HOT football player!These two were introduced by Luke, Mia's best friend and at some point of their past a little bit more than friends. Anyway, Ethan and Mia clicked right away and in a short period of time they started a relationship and fell madly in love with each other but then time, schedules, ghosts from the past and a bunch of other stuff started making a breach in their strong relationship. Leaving them doubting if the love they feel for each other will be enough?! This book has it all music, romance, steamy scenes, love, joy and a bit of darkness too.
I CANT WAIT to see what would happen next with their relationship and their situation I gotta say it was heartbreaking how they left things at the end of Bring Me You, so I can't wait for Still Into You. As I said, I am hooked with this book, and really love the style of Ryleigh Andrews,she has such a way to write and pour emotions page after page so the reader have a conection with the characters and their story that is amazing.
If you havent read this book please give it a try, I asure you guys, that you won't be dissapointed.
Ryleigh please know that for now on, you have a fan and possible stalker right here! Lol.
I received a copy of this book from Between The Sheets Promotions in exhange for an honst review and as part of the book's blog tour promotions.
I have not read a book from this author before, so I went into this without any expectation. That way, if I don't end up liking the book, I won't be disappointed. You know what I am far from disappointed. I actually thoroughly enjoyed the book.
Bring Me You is a touching love story between two people who both have so much to face on their own before they can even be strong together. It's about finding yourself before you find love. It's about being strong on your own. It's about understanding even without knowing. It's about standing up for the ones you love.
It may be viewed as a love story about long distance relationships but it is so much more than that. I loved the way the book ended. I won't talk about specifics. The ending was heartbreaking, but if you understood the hero and the heroine, you will know why it had to end like that.
There is a second book that I am so looking forward to reading because I know it will be even better than the first book. Bring Me You is an introduction, a way for us to meet the characters, where they're from and what their issues are. The second book will be the reckoning, so I can't wait to get my hands on it.
I'm glad that I took a chance on reading this book because it introduced me to an author who has written main characters who are real, deep, and complicated in the best kind of way. I definitely recommend this book to anyone, regardless of preferred genre or storyline.

Overall, even though the everyone irked me a little bit more than I thought they would, should, they were all real, flawed people. I love that realness factor of this book. I love the music. I understand next to nothing about football but I like that too. I like the romance even though Ethan started out as too-good-to-be-true kind of person. By the end, I caught a glimpse of the growth in the characters. The writing is great. And the second book is a must read.
Spoiler alert: The second book is life. This is the start of that life.
Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! I am still reeling over it, I am still pondering things, I am still heartbroken and upset. I read this book in one day and then dreamt of the characters last night. Mia and Ethan are such a super couple - I laughed with them, fell in love with them, hated both of them, heart broken for both of them!! I cannot cannot wait for the next book. It is definately one of my most anticipated!!!
Wow. This book was so emotional at the end. Mia's story starts a little confusing with this odd relationship she has with Luke...but all that gets to the back-burner when she meets Ethan. So I'm not sure if there is story there or not. But once Mia and Ethan meet...their story and love takes off! They are so cute, so loving, and very wonderful together.... but it quickly fell apart and the last 30% of the book was very sad. I'm on to book 2 to see what happens with Mia and Ethan.
Well when 1st started reading I was thinking hmm where are we going to go I really like Luke I loved the friendship ;) then we meet Ethan oh humble southern football player what's not to love ? The relationship grows and the struggles I found myself sniffling away at some parts because I love their love! Need them to be ok she is breaking ... True love in the making but can they make it ...sigh
I enjoyed the story of Ethan and Mia. Ethan has major patience and although they both made mistakes I think they can work through them. Looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds in the next book!
I have to say that this is an awesome read! Crying, laughing, cringing, rooting for Mia and Ethan. I was able to connect to these two... It is a great story. The beginning and part of the middle. I can't wait to read the next one!
Let me start off by saying that this book absolutely wrecked me. I have been trying to get my thoughts together to write this review, and it feels almost impossible. I have to give it Ryleigh Andrews, she packed a powerful punch with her debut novel Bring Me You. This one turned me into an emotional mess, and had a ton of ups and downs. The ending left me completely shattered, and I need the next book now. I am not kidding, I would do just about anything to get more of this story because I absolutely hate where this one left off. It is a great story don't get me wrong, but talk about the mother of all cliffhangers.
When Mia heads to visit her best friend Luke and his daughter Kaitlyn, he drags her to a work party. There he introduces her to football star Ethan Christopher. They instantly hit it off, and despite knowing that there will be distance between them decide to start a relationship. Though Mia refuses to fully open up to him, things take off quickly for them and they soon find themselves falling in love. But when Mia's band gets their break, the time apart between Mia and Ethan grows. Soon with Mia's touring and Ethan's schedule, they find themselves struggling to keep in contact. Soon both Mia and Ethan are making bad choices that could lead to their downfall.
I loved Ethan for the majority of this book. That is until close to the end when he did something that seriously made me want to punch him and ask him what he was thinking. The whole time he had been this great guy, loving and supporting. We got to see all the sweet and thoughtful things that he did for Mia, and he seemed to be such a fantastic guy. I loved seeing his POV and where he was coming from. That being said, we weren't getting the whole picture. He had also done some really bad things that neither the reader nor Mia had any idea about. Mia on the other hand had issues from the start. She was sweet and caring, and I loved her friendship with Luke and his daughter. They started off as so much more, and at the beginning I was kind of hoping that they would be more, until I started to fall for Ethan right along with Mia. But Ethan was so good for Mia that it was impossible not to want those two together. Mia clearly had demons that hadn't been dealt with, and I wanted so badly for Ethan to be the one to help her. I guess that is part of what wrecked me so badly with this story, because I feel as though he completely missed what was right in front of him while he was off doing things he shouldn't be.
Overall, this story was really interesting and I absolutely could not put it down. I knew going into this one that it was the first in the series, but I never expected to be feeling the way I was at the end of this one. I am still shattered by what happened, and unfortunately I tend to blame Ethan more than Mia. If it weren't for his actions, I don't think that Mia would have been in quite the shape she was in or have done the things that she did. I really hope that these two can find a way to heal themselves and move past everything that has happened. I am still rooting for these two to figure things out, and I really hope that they find their HEA without a lot more hurt and heartache along the way. I honestly can't wait for more, and I really hope that we get the next book soon. I thought that Ryleigh Andrews did a great job with this story and this was a really solid debut for her. I did think that there were a few times that things got a bit repetitive though and there were a few times that things were a bit confusing or didn't quite make sense. That was the only reason for this being a four star read for me instead of a five star. I am looking forward to the next book and also to seeing what else Ryleigh Andrews writes in the future.
Reading about the pain and suffering Mia and Ethan are going through is intense! Ms. Andrews does an amazing job depicting the challenges this couple faces in trying to hang onto their love while fighting the loneliness that her music tour and his football season create. Temptations, misunderstandings, jealousy, anger, doubts, false assumptions, hiding true feelings and pasting on a "happy face" all chip away at their relationship. After all the surprises and revelations, they meet at a crossroads and agree on a decision that will change their lives forever. Emotions run wild and the need to finish the story is tremendous.

Mia is introduced to Ethan Christopher a very known footballer and she wants him straight away. Mia & her best friend Luke have just ended their friends with benefits relationship and Luke wants Mia to be happy. Luke sets it up so that Ethan meets Mia as he knows that they could be good together. They have a whirlwind relationship but things are about to change. Mia & her band have been given a record deal, this is what she has always wanted. But time away will proof that she isn't ready for a serious relationship.
She loves Ethan but her demons won't let her go, she is drinking & doing drugs and no one can save her. Ethan comes to see her as they have not been talking and the distance is proving to be a problem for their relationship. He catches Mia drunk & drugged up with another guy. Is this the end of them. They both love each other but the time apart has destroyed what they have and can they go back to before the tour?
Will Ethan forgive Mia? Can Mia get past her jealously of another woman that he saw when she was away. Can they come back from this and get married or will it just be the end.
I enjoyed the story. Mia is a bubbly young musician who has some demons that are eating her up and she is just tired now. Ethan loves Mia but he doesn't know what to do? Luke is the best friend that loves Mia and always will be there for her. Can they get that second chance onto the next book as it can't end that way.
A nice easy read that has a great story line to it and I had to read it all in my setting another the next one straight away. A great read for over 18 years. I received a ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A copy of this title was received in exchange for an honest review.
Mia and Ethan sucked me right in from the start. The story gets right down to it without a lot of the history build in which actually worked for the little bit of mystery in the story. Mia is an up-and-coming rock star and Ethan is the golden child quarterback. Making their schedules work, is the biggest challenge of all. The honesty in this story is refreshing. Not all Prince Charmings or Princesses are flawless. These 2 characters definitely have their issues to work through. But will they be able to work thru them together? It was different to see the honest approach to the serious disease of depression. Most authors gloss over it or make it all pretty flowers and bows. This author addresses the issue realistically but not hopelessly.
This is the first installment of the Never Over You series and ends in a cliffhanger. No HEA here but maybe in the next installment?
~~~~~~~~~~Patricia's ★★★★✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~
The story of Mia and Ethan is a lot of back and forth in the story. Mia first starts out with Luke and then he leaves go go be near his baby he finds out that he has by another one. Then Luke comes back into her life. While at a work event for Luke he introduces Mia to Ethan. Mia is an up an coming Rock star. Ethan also works for the UFL with Luke. Will Mia and Ethan ever be able to be together because of their careers. This book does end In a cliffhanger.
OVerall I enjoyed the book. I hated how it ended. Not because it was bad but because Ethan knew it was a mistake and couldn't stop it. Ethan and Luke were the strong characters in this book. Mia not so much. Each character brought their own history and emotions into the story and helped propel it further into the quagmire that was Mia and Mia and Ethan's relationship. Although Mia blamed Ethan for many of her problems in the end it's seen that more stems from her closed off walls and her childish behaviour that ignited jealousy anger and disappointment in Ethan that helped bring them to where they were at the end.
Luke I felt for him so much. He loved Mia but for the sake of his daughter gave up his love so she would always be in his life. His daughter adored Mia and because of this he didn't want to ruin anything between them by them taking their friendship further. Such a beautiful gesture of love for his daughter, his friendship with mia and in a way mia that it makes your heart feel for him and hope things work out for him.
Ethan is great. Sweet and genuine. He falls for Mia instantly. He falls for her infectious happiness on the outside. Little did he know all that she hid on the inside. Her insecurity, doubts and lack of self confidence in herself as a whole. He genuinely cares about all of her and wants to be with her but she does make things difficult for them on tour. He supports her and loves her with all he has but she makes some decisions that hurt him and he in turn makes decisions from anger that help the spiral downward of Mia and her belief in him and them.
Mia I started out as liking her. Loved her with Ethan. They were smoking hot together and so sweet. But she held back. She didn't tell him all that he needed to know whereas he was a open book for her. She hid her feelings and past and this created a fission between them whether she knew it or not it did. Also her decisions starting in NY and continued the rest of the tour had a effect. To block out her pain and loneliness she turned to Todd and drugs. She becomes uniinhibited and this gets back to Ethan. At times she even acts like a brat to him. Like her text about him wanting to lose was just selfish and petty and that hurt him. Why? Well for him it showed she didn't support him and that crushed him because he supported her and loved her no matter what. So that was hard for him to swallow.This made him faulter and when you add her actions on top of that it was a bomb waiting to happen.
This is a wonderfully written story of two people finding each other and falling in love only to have obstacles get in the way. ONe being one's past and the decisions being made. Overall the book will tug at you as you watch this girl drown herself to try to forget and not ever be able to and only hurt herself and those she loves. She loses who she is and is now fighting for her life in many aspects. Ethan is wanting to be there but she really isn't opening up to him like she should and that is a problem so they make a decision that may hurt them in the end but one that for Mia needs to be done so that she can clean up, find herself and see if she can truly trust Ethan with who she is. Such a sad ending and a emotionally sad story but at the same time beautiful as well.
First of all, this has been a long time coming. I haven't posted a review in almost two years and it feels so damn good to be back!!! I have had the pleasure of reading Bring Me You as the first book since my over a year long hiatus and I would like to say that I quite enjoyed it! Loved it... I wouldn't say, but I indeed liked it!!!
As stated in the summary, Bring Me You is the story of Mia Devereux, an up and coming Rock Star who meets and falls in love with a professional football player named Ethan. After a fast romance, they fall in love, and then things happen... literally, that's all that happens.
This novel is a typical story of a broken girl falling in love with the perfect man but cannot seem to keep the relationship because her past is keeping her from doing so. There were no surprises, no shocking additions to the story, no big drama (AND WE ALL KNOW THAT I LOVE DRAMA)and not that many tears. For someone who has kept her past a secret from her lover, Mia's past isn't all that dramatic:
***SPOILER*** Mia has been brought up by her bossy father after her mother abandoned them on Christmas Day when she was a little girl because "she could not be a mother anymore and didn't want this [raising a child]...
For a girl who claims that her past has destroyed her and has led her into depression and drugs (amongst other things), that's not the big dramatic past that you're expecting. Why keep such a small (although I am downplaying her past, I still feel bad for her. No one deserves to be abandoned by their mother) secret from your fiancé? How traumatizing and terrible is it that you can't tell the man that you're marrying??? Actually, how did Ethan not care enough to force the truth out of her even after having doubts of her hiding something from him??? She would never talk about her family, mom or dad, and when she ever brought them up, she would get all awkward and tense. It doesn't make any sense.
I also found that the story was quite repetitive. Every chapter it was the same scenario: she's on tour, he's playing football, she performs then drinks and does drugs to forget, he misses her, she misses him, they Skype and spend the whole time complaining about how much they miss each other, they text, she drowns in her sorrows, he wonders what's wrong with her, they see each other for a few hours, she's a nympho and just wants to have sex for hours, they have sex, repeat.
The story was in no way developing and by the end I was like "THAT'S IT???"
Overall, the story wasn't THAT bad because I read it until the end and I rated it a 4/5 stars. Even though it got boring at some points because of it's repetitiveness, the storyline still kept me wanting more. I still wanted to know how their relationship would play out, how she would be coping with her "terrible" past, and if their relationship would last. The sex scenes were interesting but not all memorable, but I loved the way Ethan loved Mia. It was cute, straight forward and not too complicated.
It was well-written and I enjoyed it! Now, on to the next one!!!
Ryleigh Andrews what did you do to me?!? I am so thrilled and heart broken over this book. I was hooked right from the start. To be honest, I was a bit surprised that it took me so long to finish reading this, considering how much I really enjoyed the story. Oh, and this is a debut novel to boot! The writing was on point for who the characters were and the story that was being told. The amount of emotion she was able to bring forth from me in the telling of this tale was what really blew me away.
Bring Me You tells the story of budding musician Mia and world famous athlete Ethan. When a mutual friend introduces them, it is as if time stands still. The attraction was instantaneous and from that first night their connection only grew. Mia is sassy yet shy. Her vulnerability is what really endeared her to me. She was strong for everyone around her but didn't know how to ask for the help she wanted and needed. Ethan was an atypical superstar athlete. Yes he was strong, rich and sexy but he was also sweet, considerate and patient. I loved how at ease, flirty and playful they were with each other. It just went to prove how well suited they are for one another.
As time goes on, Mia and Ethan's connection only deepens. This is impressive because life is constantly pulling them in opposite directions. Ethan has practice, games and other events that send him all over. Mia has recording, touring and press events for things with her band. The time and distance really did a number on the couple. They both struggled to survive without the other. They were truly missing part of themselves when they were apart. I could feel the desperation and longing pouring from them with each tear, missed call or text and day apart. As someone who did long distance I understand that feeling all too well.
The cast of secondary characters also added to the overall relate-ability of the book. Everyone from Luke, Allie, Marty and Todd all played an important role throughout. Though I have to say Luke and Kaitlyn were my favorite out of the gang. They provided a sweetness to help balance some of the heavier matter covered later in the story. I kind of saw Mia's spiral coming but wasn't prepared for what it would lead to.
I absolutely loved that Ryleigh Andrews didn't take the easy way out. She made Mia and Ethan work for their happiness and battle through the hard times. There were parts that were raw, gritty and others that were full of joy. I laughed, cried, closed my e-reader in frustration and sighed with relief. I was not expecting the book to take the turn that it did at about 70 percent in. Just when I think I have it figured out..BANG! Cliffhanger! And what a way to end the story. I can not wait to see what will happen between Ethan and Mia in the next installment of this series.
Ryleigh Andrews is out of the gate running with her debut novel Bring Me You. I was hooked by the blurb and the characters made the book very hard to put down.
Mia is on the cusp of stardom. She is the lead singer for a band that is just about to get picked up by a major record label. She is visiting her best friend Luke and playing a few shows during the week in town when she is introduced to Ethan.
Ethan is a professional football player who also doesn't have a steady girl and has relied on Luke to fix him up here lately. With the last few being bombs, he isn't sure what to expect next. Upon meeting Mia, Ethan is mesmerized and needs to know more about this beautiful girl.
Luke is Mia's best friend and once held the title of "friends with benefits" for the past six years. He moved away from her to take care of his daughter and while they stopped the benefits part, they are still the best of friends. Luke was waiting to introduce Mia to Ethan because he was afraid he was going to lose her for good, as Ethan is truly a nice guy.
Mia and Ethan hit it off beautifully. While she is there vacationing, he is in the off season, so their schedules work out perfectly. That all changes when Mia's band gets signed and she is shipped off to LA for weeks at a time, then tours for months at a time. While Mia is busy with music, Ethan is now back for the season with away games of his own.
Page after page of heartbreak is a lot to take as a reader. You are silently waiting for the shoe to drop in the relationship-which it does. Try as they may, Mia and Ethan just can't seem to work things out no matter how hard they try. Music has been her dream for years and Ethan can't ask her to stop. The same can be said about his career, it's too important to just walk away from, so they need to make things work until they can be together again.
There are things about her past that Mia is keeping from Ethan, things that are making her slide downhill quickly. She is numbing the pain of missing him with alcohol and starts to really go off the rails. Tired of missing the love of his life, Ethan starts to go off the rails as well and we are left with a giant, messy love affair gone bad.
I hated the pain that this couple was constantly in. You just wanted to scream at Ryleigh Andrews to finally cut them a break! Of course she doesn't and makes it worse by leaving us wanting so much more from Mia and Ethan. The book is well written and to all of the angst lovers, this book is definitely for you.
I’m in a total denial phase. That cliffy ruined me and left my heart hanging, hurting, hoping. This debut novel really had something. I thoroughly enjoyed the long journey of laugh, love, hurt, and angst with characters so entertaining (although at times a bit annoying), you can’t help but love them.
She loved the way he possessed her with his touch.
Mia Devereux was an aspiring rock star with a troubled past. Despite Mia’s hung-ups in life, she was talented, sweet, smart, loving, and funny. I loved her character. She’s like a woman anybody would like to be friends with because of this little sunshine she brings with her. But deep inside, Mia was a lonely woman trapped inside a memory, held captive by the feelings it brought to her.
My feelings for you surprise me. I’ve never felt this way before.
Ethan Christopher was a quarterback set to break a lot of records in football history. He was the kind of hero a reader immediately likes. He was easy-going, calm, fun, and drop-dead handsome...and an athlete! What I loved about Ethan was his confidence and his tendency to be realistic. He’s sure about his decisions and does everything to fit them in his life.
He had to kiss her, feel her lips upon his, the softness of them, and the life they brought to him.
Sparks flew the moment Mia and Ethan met. There was already a simmering heat between them on their first conversation and I loved journeying with them as they explored that heat further. Although they possessed different personalities, Ethan and Mia seemed to complement each other. They knew what each other wanted and what to do about it. They hold the other half’s happiness and do everything to reach it...until they were drawn apart by their dreams.
This book really encapsulated the agony of long distance relationships. I felt the triumph of every little time they spent together but also suffered with them on the times they spent apart. They have mutual feelings and plans but are separated by their individual dreams. Dreams that kept them away from each other. Dreams that drew them apart. I agree that they decided to spend the 5 weeks apart because pursuing their current situation will just draw them farther still.
I loved the aura of sweetness and love throughout 50-60% but my emotions were really caught by the events toward the end. I can’t wait to read what happens after 5 weeks!
3.5-4 stars. Mia Devereux's music career is just taking off while Ethan Christopher is at the height of his pro-football quarterback career when they meet. Once their romance begins, it's very sweet and steady but also spotty and long-distance. They have great chemistry and are undeniably in love. I just kept waiting for the drama to unfold because for a long stretch there, they are doing well and things don't start to unravel until about the last third of the book. It's pretty obvious that Mia is holding back something about herself from not just Ethan, but her other friends, too. For whatever reason, I had trouble liking her, which is kind of strange because she is rather likable overall. Perhaps it was her secrecy and the fact that I knew whatever she was hiding couldn't be good and for someone like Ethan who wanted her to share everything about herself, she decided she had to act like Disney the whole time, or the happiest place on earth when she's with him. Despite the difficulty of being long distance, that is probably the one pro for her, being able to suppress whatever it is she couldn't share while always plastering on a happy face in Ethan's presence. That bothered me because Ethan was willing to do anything and everything for her, he's a very stable character with so much to offer that she shouldn't have felt like she couldn't tell him about her past, but she held back regardless even though the relationship moved forward. It becomes apparent that Mia's got some deep issues that prevent her from living to the fullest although Ethan's presence keeps her calm. But that's the whole problem, Ethan isn't around all the time so Mia is spiraling out of control. However, that doesn't make Ethan exempt from being an idiot either. He's also at fault in some parts of the story, which really bothered me because I expected so much more out of him, but I do think I can see it from his perspective as well. Mia and Ethan's mutual good friend, Luke, he baffled me. I know he's Mia's best friend and he's got responsibilities and priorities, but sometimes, I felt like he really didn't behave like a true best friend but more like an immature grown up even though he has good intentions. He's a little bit selfish actually. Honestly, I can't blame Mia for her abandonment issues, I would just like to see her own up to them and overcome them. Ethan and Mia's story doesn't end with this book and I can see a lot of directions in which their story will go so fingers crossed that they can still have a future together.
* I was sent this book from the author for an honest review for the tour with Between the Sheets Promotions. This review is based off MY opinion and at no time reflects that of other readers.
I can’t really say how I feel about this one. It has that whole love triangle, but then again not only. And then the whole instalove thing going on. And then to top it off we have the “football god” and the “rock princess” making a debut. And of course come on there is no way a long distance relationship can work with those 2 careers right? Add on the extra baggage and yeap you have a drama. And truthfully that sums this one up, oh and sex. Lots of sex. Whats a good drama book without all the sex?
Mia I hated. From the very beginning, I hated her. She had this weird thing going on with her bestfriend, Luke. They used to date at one time, he wanted to ask her to marry him but that night he found out he had a daughter so he threw that relationship to the side for his daughter (noble of him I know) but then they entered into the whole friends with benefits thing, until Luke decided to end that as well so that Mia could have more. But Mia was in love with Luke, still.
So it really threw me when Luke was setting her up with his friend. Weirded me out on a whole new level. I mean come on,.. your setting your ex whatever up with a friend of yours? That’s not weird? But that friend just so happens to be Ethan, the famous football player. Mia and Ethan hit it off really fast. They seemed to be a lot alike, but Mia is good at putting up fronts. She isn’t the sweet care free woman that she portrays.
Luke was pretty awesome, him and his daughter. I enjoyed reading his side of things. He always seemed to make me laugh when I needed it the most. He was pretty awesome throughout the whole book minus that weirding out thing when Mia and Ethan got engaged. Luke I never understood why he didn’t make a go with Mia. Considering his feelings for her and how close she is to his daughter.
I loved Ethan for the most part, until the very end, but the n again I guess I could get where he was coming from. The amount of crap he put up with from Mia when she started touring is astounding. No man would do that. Mia was just an over dramatic woman. OVER DRAMATIC! I mean drinking and drugging and hanging over other men while you are ENGAGED to a man you “love.” come on now. Your giving all women a bad name.
And then way the ending comes about? I was left trying to flip the pages to get to the next one.
This story was amazing I really enjoyed it but there was one thing that I didn't and it's just me. I am not a fan of a story when it has a narrator feel. I still got dual pov's but it had a vibe about it. But other than that I loved the story it really drew you in to the characters. Mia was this beautiful caring person and not selfish at all. I kept asking myself why is she moving on without Luke they had chemistry from the first time I read about them together. And kaitlyn she loves that little girl so much. But then she meets Eathan and I have a love/hate relationship with him. On one hand I can't forgive him for not seeing or doing what he did. To me he was selfish and never really put her first. When she was so weak and honestly he seen that. He can't act like he didn't it's infuriating because again I love him when he was around her he was perfect. But he should have seen the signs. To me he is the reason for all of this and no she is still keeping the past from him. But he hasn't even been completely honest with her. Seriously I was so shocked at what he did then when he finally got his balls back and did what he should have done to begin with he judges her. No not right at all Mia deserves somebody to appreciate her and to know her it doesn't matter what he didn't know she kept telling him she needed him. So at this moment I can only hope that she moves on to someone else. Even Luke he screwed with her mind anybody would have self-doubt even without the parent issue. I don't blame Mia at all she got swept away in the darkness and nobody saved her he should have been there. OK if I continue then I will give away spoilers and I am trying not to. But overall I am very excited to see what happens I believe she deserves the world. And this is a debut for this author so good like I said only issue is that narrator vibe which is why I can't give it a 5 stars.(this was before lol) Because most of the book had that feeling until you get towards 30% left in the book. Then in felt more like them speaking but you still could tell but not as much. But the writing itself is really great. So here I am back 24 hours later because I have done nothing but think about this book. What does that mean well simple I am changing my 4 stars to 5 the reason because its still affecting me. I listened to the playlist this morning every song made me want to be there for Mia.
