Generally, I would not reach for a story set against a reality TV show, but this one sounded cute and quirky from its title to the blurb so I decided to give it a go. And I'm glad I did. This was a cute and easy-read romance and just the thing for my current mood. There was humor, misunderstanding, and a sweet romance through it all.

The story opens with local radio personality, Renee Lockhart, receiving the surprising news that she has been accepted as one of the ladies competing on a The Bachel

A radio announcer goes on a reality dating show to land a coveted promotion and ends up losing her heart.

Renee Lockhart is lovable and funny. She doesn't have a nasty bone in her body...so competing with two dozen other women for the city's most eligible bachelor is completely out of her comfort zone. But she needs to raise her visibility if she's going to nail a spot on her station's coveted morning show. And, anyway, it's not like she has much of a social life. Who knows? It might even be fun

I found myself laughing all the way through Accept This Dandelion by Brooke Williams. Renee Lockhart, longing for a better position on the radio allows her friend to sign her up for the local TV version of "The Bachelor". From setting herself on fire, dancing a jig, wearing cut-offs to a pool party, even slapping a monkey, she has so many funny antics she would be hard to forget. And the "playboy" bachelor himself Ben McConnell who proves to be a much deeper and caring person than everyone first ...more

This was my second book by this author. It won't be my last. Her characters are charming and the situations sweet.

Renee is pretty much forced to try out for the local Bachelor Reality Show. She figures she might as well try it, since she needs to raise her public profile if she's going to get a prime promotion at the radio station where she works. When she hears who the Bachelor is, she thinks about running. He's the local playboy. But do

Picture yourself as one of twelve women on a local Bachelor-type show. You really don't want to be there. You don't really have time to date. Most of all, you just wish your boss would take you seriously enough to get that promotion. This sums up Renee Lockhart.

Imagine you're a man who has a hard time connecting with women. You hardly ever go on second dates because that zing just isn't there. Because of so many first dates, the media portrays you as a playboy. In reality, you are looking for t

Renee Lockhart didn't ask to audition for a contestant on a local version of the Bachelor. Her well-meaning co-workers submitted her for the audition. Renee doesn't expect to be chosen to be on the show anyway. So when she is chosen to be on the show, she figures she can make the best of it and hopefully snag the vacant morning show host spot at her radio station. When she discovers that Ben McConnell is the bachelor on the show, Renee knows she doesn't stand a chance. She's determined

Brooke Williams has taken a national icon, The Bachelor and served it up with a twist in her delightful romantic comedy, Accept this Dandelion.

Both Renee Lockhart and Ben McConnell go into this localized version of the dating game with hidden motives. Renee wants to boost her popularity as a radio show host, potentially winning the morning co-anchor spot at her station. And she was entered by her co-workers so it’s more a matter of making the best of an uncomfortable situation. Especially when s

Oh, how I love the Bachelor. I know it is a silly show, who goes on live TV and dates many girls just to find their true love. Yet, I still tune in (or DVR it) every week. When Accept This Dandelion showed up in my emails I knew I had to read it. I am not sorry I did.

Let’s start with the bachelor, oh Ben. I picture him meeting the girls, have a cocktail party, and trying to figure out how you are going to come out alive with a dozen women all wanting and demanding your attention. While he may n

Renee wants to become the morning radio show host. She is desperate to raise her profile and her colleagues sign her up for a Bachelor type show. She’s hoping that this will help her secure the new job. Ben secretly sees her audition and asks for her to be on the show.
She bumbles through the show and many amusing scenes. She also falls for Ben. He is on the show trying to show his real side rather than the playboy image he has. He wants a girlfriend who like’s ‘him’ rather than his money. Renee

What I liked most about this romantic comedy? Renee's segments on the dating show kept me guessing, as much as they did Ben, I'm sure.

It was enjoyable for me as a reader to take trips with the both of them on local radio and television, as these characters really come off as people anyone might meet or hear about in one's hometown. The book is repetitive at points, where the narrator restates or rehashes the same information for the reader without necessarily developing it further, and I would'v

Accept this Dandelion is a page turning romantic comedy that kept me laughing and wondering what would happen next. The storyline was fun to read because it gives a behind-the-scenes look at a local version of, The Bachelor. I found myself rooting for the main character, Renee to win because she was more like an average girl — not what you would typically find on a reality show. Her antics during the book were enjoyable to read about and made me laugh out loud on multiple occasions. I also appre ...more

This is a fun unexpected read. Right from the start we follow Renee through multiple mishaps on a public TV bachelor show.
Being a big fan of the Bachelor at one time I enjoyed s comical local themed bachelor take. You get s bit of behind the scene friend making and catty contestsnts.
You can't help but root for Renee as she bumps through the contest trying to win Ben's last dandelion. Ben is a public playboy who wants a better image of himself, a truer image.

This story is like getting a behind the scenes glance at an unscripted, unedited version of The Bachelor. I myself am not a big fan of shows like The Bachelor, the idea of finding true love by dating 30 women at worth seems crazy to me. That being said, I did enjoy this story. It was well written and kept my attention throughout. Interesting characters, a few funny scenes, and sweet romance.

I do not watch reality shows on television because they have nothing to do with reality. They are so artificial. This book is a take on a bachelor reality show, but it was sweet, clever, and very entertaining. I enjoyed it all the way through. It made me smile.

Cute, sweet romance. The ending felt overly dramatic on both sides (his and hers), but fits the rom-com genre. I think I enjoyed The Leftover a little more than this one, but both were fun quick reads. I read them out of order, which was not really a problem since they each stand alone, and I like how the two books fit together and give us Eva's story.

Renee is a hoot!

Although the ending was predictable, this was a really fun read! None of the characters were really bad people, even if one couldn't seem to mind her own business.

I'm off to read the next book!

This is my first book that I have read from Brooke Williams. When I was presented with the option of reading an ARC for this story, the synopsis had be sold. The author creates characters that are very likeable and you can't help but root for their happiness.

I'll start off by saying that before I read this book, I was in a reading funk. I could not bring myself to read anything, despite the fact that my long list of books to read just keeps getting longer and longer. I didn't expect this book to bring me out of my funk. In fact, if I'm being honest, I expected to be bored by it, like I get bored watching those dating shows on TV.

First off I found this title to be interesting especially since I grew up in a age where a dandelion bunch was what you often gave your mom since they were all over the place and even ate the greens. As I got into this novel I was right away swept up because of the pace and the characters. Renee was one that had spunk and humor with realistic qualities. Being part of the cast of girls who were to win Ben's heart with each episode the ones who stayed on were given a dandelion. Everything nicely d ...more

This book is different than what I have been reading. Ben McConnell was a playboy and he is on a local tv version of "The Bachelor"

Love the title of the book! Accept This Dandelion is different for a Bachelor show. It is normally a rose. Read the book to find out why this title is the show's title, too. OMG, Accept This Dandelion is one of the sweetest book I have read.

The story starts with Renee auditioning to be on a television dating show. I loved Renee right from the beginning. She is asked what her favorite flower is, her answer is a dandelion. I loved that answer and her explanation why. When I read that part, I could help but to be brought back of memories of as a child running around the lawn picking dandelion flowers for my mom. Renee continues to surprise me throughout the book with

Love’s the last thing on her mind.
Between Renee’s klutzy tendencies and brutal honesty, the set of the local version of the Bachelor turns into the comedic version of a soap opera. But she isn’t seeking love, although that’s exactly why her friends sent her to the audition. She’s after a much loftier goal and it has nothing to do with the gorgeous man who makes her heart sing every time she trips over him…literally.
All Ben wants to do is show he’s a man…not money. But this show’s the means to th
