Mark Olson wasn’t just known for owning his three large care dealerships. He’s also known as a player, at least since his divorce. For a while, he believed he was satisfied as a member of Advantage Insurance Company’s board of directors and bedding a different woman every weekend. That is until someone decided to call his bluff.
Suzannah McCormick is the sweet girl working hard as the executive assistant to Advantage’s CEO. But underneath her saccharine southern charm is a vixen-in-waiting. She’s never been with a man that tapped into that side of her, but she set her sights on Mark Olson with high hopes.
Mark doesn’t realize his player/single status and his heart are in jeopardy.
JESSICA JAYNE is a born and raised small-town Ohio girl, who moved to the Sunshine State after graduating from college with an English degree. She attended law school and passed her bar exam on the very first attempt. She met the love of her life in a romance novel sort of way. They married and have three beautiful (and sometimes crazy) kids.
Jessica loves to travel and travel often! She’s jumped out of several perfectly good airplanes. When not watching her son isn't racing in a regatta or her daughters dominate the volleyball court, she watches Buckeye football and the Tampa Bay Lightning. She’s a wine-making (and wine-tasting with her girlfriends) aficionado. She loves all music. Thinks Eric Church is a rock star. Worships Jason Momoa. Believes Game of Thrones was the best show on television but lives by many Seinfeld-isms.
I was provided with a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book is part of the Taking Advantage series, and having not read the first two books in the series, I was apprehensive about how I would find this one, the third in the series. The author's charming and smooth narration makes it easy for the reader to relate with the characters, and I believe this book can be read just a stand alone, given that the characters and the plot can be thought of as being new.
The story revolves around Mark Olsen, a self-appointed player and womaniser, and Suzie McCormick, the wild and reckless girl who walks into his life, cloaked with the innocence of an executive assistant. Mark's resolve to not get entangled begins to crumble and Suzie is ruthlessly meshing him further in the net. Is Mark able to resist being drawn to Suzie more and more each day, and does Suzie acknowledge her true feelings for Mark, is what the book takes us through.
Considering that this was a fairly short book, the author deserves a commendation for having gone into the characterisation as much as the length of the book allowed for. Although the mindsets, idealogies and takes on life for the characters couldn't be dealt with in detail, the book gave enough insight into the characters' heads to understand why they do what they do. I was able to perceive that the characters had known each other even before they came together in this book - which probably ties in with me not having read the first two books in the series. I am unsure if they were the protagonists in the first two as well. But in this one, I feel it in fact has helped keep the book crisp that the author didn't dwell too much on how the two protagonists encountered each other. Overall, it was a good read and I am looking forward to reading the first two in the series now.

This is book three, in the Taking Advantage series, but you don't need to read the first two in order to enjoy this one. But it will give you spoilers to those.
This is Mark's tale, he has been seeing Suzie for a few weeks, but its all in secret. It takes an incident at a club, and a jealous rival for Mark to finally decide what he wants, or more importantly, who.
A little longer than the first two, it delves a little deeper into the characters, and what they want. It has a bit more of a bite to the story, which I enjoyed.
It is, though, still short, sweet and sexy! a perfect....yeah, I know, I know...hangover cure! Or for me, a lunch break read. I don't think these three books are meant to be anything other than short and sexy, and I can safely say they delivered that!
I would like to read something longer by this author, just to see what Ms Jayne would do with more pages to play with. A full lenght novel, maybe??

Mark and Suzie have been attracted to each other for years and are finally acting on these feelings. They are seeing each other on the sly as it could effect her job and his place on the board. Once night at a club changes everything for them.
Mark is a delicious naughty talking bossy man that shares some smoking hot moments with Suzie. At first it's all about the physical, but then they both realize that their hearts are involved. I loved their story.
I didn’t much like this book at first. Mark started off as a jerk and Suzannah started off a little slutty. However, I loved the cameos from the first two couples and especially loved the epilogue at the end. It totally made it all worth it and wrapped the series up nicely.
The Taking Advantage series has plenty of sexy hotness, a strong dose of alpha male, and just enough happily ever after to satisfy. Don’t miss this story!
Board Indiscretion, just like Board Stiff and Board Approved, is one smokin' hot novella. Mark and Suzannah (Suzie) are another great match in the series by Jessica Jayne. Perfectly paired, yet flawed, both characters have quite a bit to overcome in the 61 pages of this short novella. Mark likes to be footloose and fancy free.....or at least he thought he did until Suzie entered his life. As the executive assistant to the CEO of Advantage Insurance Company, Suzie is off-limits - especially since Mark's boardmember. That is, until he gets her into bed; repeatedly. When a major rival threatens to expose Mark and Suzie will Mark do what's right for him, Suzie, or the board?
Jessica's writing style is very fluid and easily read. Board Indiscretion pulls the reader in from the very beginning. The novella itself is short, to the point, and developed only in the areas necessary to this particular plot ~ backgrounds on Suzannah and Mark. No fluff or filler jamming up the plot in order to give the novella some extra length ~ Just pure, sexual thoughts and feelings between the two main characters. The secondary characters, both couples from Books 1 & 2 along with the rival and other secondary characters, are necessary or the novella would just be silly, but they are well placed and fulfill their duties to Board Indiscretion.
I thoroughly enjoyed each and every page of this quick and steamy read. I never once caught myself skimming or skipping. I absorbed everything as it was presented and loved every minute of it.

Board Indiscretion is the third book in the Taking Advantage series by Jessica Jayne, but it can be read as a stand alone. This was a short novel and a fast read for me. It was sexy and sweet at the same time, and I really did enjoy it. My only real complaint is I found myself wanting more of the story; the characters seemed to have more to share. I plan on going back and reading the entire series. Jessica Jayne is now on my list of authors to watch.
4 stars. This book took was an kind of interesting twist to the series. It was less instant attraction and more "I'm going to proposition you with the intention of just one night and we accidentally fall in love." Mark is mentioned in the other books as a bit of a player, so I was almost predispositioned not to like him as much. He had to grow on me. It was kind of the same with Suzie. In book 1, she was infatuated with John. In book 2, it was mentioned that she threw her attentions at both Greg and Mark, just flirting with anyone who would look at her. But the story unfolded a little more intriguing. Also, we get to see what happened to the other two couples, so that alone made it worth reading to get a glimpse at their happily ever afters a few months down the road.
Overall I'd say this is a series to indulge in. It won't take long to get through them, but they're entertaining, hot, and intriguing. I would definitely look for more of the author's stories.
