Now, that's unusual, you might be saying. Dar is giving a romance novel five stars. Yep. I am. That is because this is a cautionary tale of what all those romantic ideals can hand those who are blind in their love for the romantic partner. Notice, I said partner. Notice I didn't just identify this as a fem issue. I realize that there are relationships of all kinds where one partner uses the other for a punching ball physically and or mentally. That is NOT love, folks.

Let me take a moment out to

From the synopsis and the prologue you get what this book is about, or do you?

Yes, it’s about domestic abuse, about spousal abuse. A tough subject to write about.

Taylor does it as gently as she can. You read about the abuse Holly suffers at her husband’s beefy fists. The physical and emotional terror he inflicts.

You also read about Holly’s courage, her spirit that rises up when she’s had enough.

She awakens from a coma 8 months later and the first thing she says is “Gabriel.”

Where is her angel, h

I think I'm going to start a Taylor Dean fan club and become President because she has seriously become one of my favorite authors of all time. I inhaled I Have People like there was no tomorrow! Once again, Taylor did not disappoint me at all.

I don't like to give spoilers BUT this book does deal with an extremely sensitive issue of physical abuse in a relationship. It hurt to read certain scenes, I won't sugarcoat it. Taylor delivered a very raw and painful story in I Have People. She did it wi

I received this book free from the author in a giveaway. I loved this book. It's really hard to explain anything about the book without giving crucial elements away. I know that this book hit extremely close to home for me, which made it all the more poignant. I laughed and cried along with Holly with every turn of the page. I understood her fear, and remember making the same internal rationalizations that she did. This is truly a fairy tale told in modern context!

Most of you know how big of a Taylor Dean fan I am and this book was no exception and it's totally not because I have a quote on the back of the printed copy! I loved this book, but not quite as much as Lancaster House. This is one of those books that I can't really talk about too much for fear of spoiling so I am going to keep this review brief.

At the beginning of the book I had a little trouble with how Holly spoke to everyone. I felt like she came across as really artificial, but as the story

I Have People is an emotional journey of a young woman named Holly Sinclair. She was in foster care all her life because her mother couldn’t stay clean long enough to take care of her and she never knew her father. As soon as she turned 18 she was released from foster care with no family or friends to go to. Because she doesn’t have anyone, she becomes the perfect target for domestic abuse.

I don’t really want to say too much more about this wonderful story because I don’t want to give anything

My first by the author but definitely not my last.

No one really likes to hear about abuse but this book did it well. Holly may have suffered abuse but she just didn't take it, she eventually fought back and left.

The way Gabriel and Angela acting when Holly came out of the come, I thought the abuser was Gabriel. He wasn't, he truly is a Boy Scout. He may have decided Holly but it was really for good reasons.

It was a sweet and different story, difficult at times.

What a pleasantly surprising read. I really enjoyed this book even though at times it was a bit hard to read. The life Holly lived was heartbreaking. Being able to see Holly grow, trust, love, let go and live was wonderful.
Great book and highly recommend.

Had me gripped from the very first page!!

This was my first Taylor Dean read. However, it won't be my last!
I usually steer clear of romance novels, and read suspense, mystery, etc. This book was WONDERFUL! It has romance , suspense/mystery. Kept me awake for two nights!!

I can’t help but eat up taylor dean’s books, like the M & Ms that I love. She makes me so tense, sitting on the edge of my chair, racing through the pages. An amazing writer. She can tell a story that makes you hold your breath, as you wait in suspense for the tale to play out.

“He’d finally killed her,” went through her mind as her body struggled to bring her back to the land of the living.

“I have people, people who care about me. You two are my favorite people.”

I loved this book! It starts out as a nice, sweet love story, even though you know there's something that's being kept from Holly. After Holly wakes up from an 8 month coma, Gabe is so careful with her and works hard to re-create their life before she went into a coma. Her best friend, Angela, is also there to help her out but neither of them will tell Holly how the accident happened or jog her memory--they tell her she needs to recover her memories on her own. She is happy and life is perfect a ...more

Every once in a while a book comes along that tugs at the heart strings, for me that book is I Have People.

Holly Sinclair has awaken from eight months in a coma after a traumatic accident that caused her extensive injuries, in fact the doctors considered her recovery a miracle of modern science. She has amnesia and the only memories she has is that of her loving husband Gabriel. Frustrated with the missing pieces of her memory and her inability to recall what happened to her, Gabe recreates thei

From the very first word I loved this book. It was such a powerful story about love, abuse: both mental and physical and Taylor Dean did a wonderful job. I truly felt like I was right there with Holly and wanted to knock the crap out of Cal. He came off as so loving and wonderful but when his true colors started showing Holly was there for him to treat anyway he saw fit. I loved Gabe so much and Angie too. Both were there for her even when she had no idea that they knew. Gabe was the most wonder ...more

This book is definitely a love story that is not without its difficult times. I really enjoyed how the author has woven the various parts of the story together to provide such reading enjoyment. I could not read it fast enough. It’s like she has written many cliffhangers throughout the book.

This is my first book by this author and I can tell you it definitely will not be my last. As soon as I finished reading this book, I purchased Sierra by Taylor Dea

Wow. I was interested in reading this book from the beginning when I signed on to be a part of this blog tour but I had no idea I would love it so much. That took me by surprise. I love when a book does that. It's awesome.

I. Love. I Have People. This book kept me engaged the whole way. The way the author flipped from the present to the past to tell the whole story was so good. You might think it would be choppy or hard to follow but it really wasn't. I think the way the story unfolded was one of

The suspense never lets up; I was hooked from the beginning and never once felt bored or lost interest. This book deals with a difficult subject – spousal abuse – but the way in which the story is delivered is just spellbinding. Holly Noel is a strong-minded, independent person who suffers a horrible ordeal and wakes up with amnesia. Her circumstance is unusual but she has some friends who stand by her, trying their best to help her make a new future and keep the past troubles from interfering i ...more

I think I might have mentioned that Taylor Dean is one of the best discoveries I've made this year as far as authors go. I've read 3 of her books so far, Lancaster House, Sierra and now I Have People. There's one element that binds them together, suspense.

I'm so glad that my copy of I Have People was an ebook, because the suspense in this book would have been to tempting for me otherwise. I know if this had been a physical copy I would have been flipping the pages to find out what happens.

This is my first book by Taylor Dean, but it won't be my last!

I had shelved this on my Amazon Wish List, and as the month is almost over, I borrowed it today. Having no recollection what it was about or why I had chosen it. I just plunged right in.

Wowza. There's the prologue; talk about a total baiter. I was slightly confused, trying to pieces everything together, but totally mesmerized by what was happening. I wasn't sure if this "Gabe" was they guy who pushed her or some other dude. And then

I received a copy of this book from Taylor Dean in exchange for an honest review. Thank you again!

In my opinion, I Have People should be a bestseller. I loved this book. I had to wait a while after reading it to review it because I couldn't even wrap my mind around how much I loved it, and even now I feel like I just can't write a review that will do justice to this book. I don't really want to even give a short synopsis because all I knew about this book when I started it was the short descript

This is a book that deals with the issue of abuse. Holly has been in a coma for 8 months. She wakes up wanting her husband, Gabe. This story is a big on the mysterious side as we have to wait for the plot to unravel before we truly understand where these characters have been and where they are going. The story begins in the present, then we go back to the past for a few chapters, and then we continue with the present. We learn why Holly was in the coma and how she and Gabe deal with things once ...more

This story had emotional depth as it deals with domestic abuse. Holly Sinclair wakes up from an 8-month coma and wants only her husband, Gabe, by her side. But Gabe and Angela (her best friend) seem anxious about her missing memories, which the doctor insists must NOT be brought back through prompting. Holly’s life seems perfect once again, and besides mixing up words (I’m head over high heels in love with you, I’m happy as an oyster, why are you walking on eggs around me?), Holly doesn’t seem t ...more

A Must Read

This is one of the most brilliant books I have read in awhile. Holly, the main character, suddenly awakens from a coma and immediately calls out for Gabriel. She has amnesia and at the beginning of the book, you find out why. As the book progresses, she slowly starts recovering her memory. All is not as it seems though. I will not say more as I do not want to spoil it for anyone. I have to say that Taylor Dean has a way of writing a story that makes you feel everything that the chara

This is the second book I have read by Dean, and I am a huge fan. I love when authors write about issues that many women face today.

. The main character Holly had such a tough life and was looking for love in all the wrong places, and was quick to jump into a relationship because she felt alone in the world. When Holly decides that her dreams are the only reality she wants to live in, her long coma makes her fairy tale come true.

Dean is an amazing story teller. She really sucks you into her capt

Not too bad of a story, but definitely not my favorite book by this author.

This story deals with domestic abuse and at times I found myself cringing as I visualized the scenes taking place. I just wished there was a little more build up to Gabriel and Holly's relationship. When everything was revealed it was unrealistic for me to completely love this story.

With that being said, this story was well written and I love that the author brings awareness to sensitive life events into her romance nove

I received this book as a prize in a giveaway almost a year ago. Since it was a paperback, it went into storage and I forgot about it until a few weeks ago. What a little gem of a story. This is probably not a book I would have picked out for myself, and I would have missed out on some terrific writing and a well-plotted story. I don't even know how to review this book without giving anything away. You think you know what the book is about from the synopsis, but do you really? I loved the plot twists and turns though out the book. I thought I would have it figured out only to have another thing happen that would completely change everything.
This is my 3rd book by Taylor Dean and she creates such beautiful stories and realistic characters that you just can't help but fall in love with! This book did not disappoint!
