Shilpa Suraj's Smashing Second Spiel!

Rescued by Love is warm and funny and tender. A flawlessly crafted, dreamy love story. Fabulous characters - Arjun is a tough-as-steel sexy softie; Naina is lovely, spunky and droll. Aryan, Arjun's brother is adorable - I am rooting for a story for him - Shilpa, are you listening?

This book is a wonderful example of 'Show, don't Tell'! So very well done, Shilpa! I think I will stop raving now, and go get some coffee!

MUST READ if you are up for humor and romance - and especially if you need some 'Rescuing" from the humdrum of real life. Lt. Col. Arjun Rathore does not disappoint!

Rescued by Love is Shilpa Suraj's second book after The Girl He Left Behind. I had thoroughly enjoyed reading Shilpa's first book and can say the same for this one.

The cover is miles better than the cover of the first book. It is more catchy and attractive. The blurb is intriguing and creates an instant interest in the book.

The story looks predictable like the many other I-am-in-love-with-my-rescuer types but Shilpa gives the story her personal flavor and makes it a completely new experience for the readers. The story has more depth and much more to it than just romance. The dialogues are well crafted and the plot expertly conceived and executed.

The characters make you forget that they are not real. I loved Naina with her strength of character and her determination. She has been oppressed and ignored at home and always made to feel unloved by her parents but still she has not given up her freedom to gain their acceptance. She knows what she wants in life and is ready to fight for it. Lt. Col Arjun Rathore made my heart flutter with his serious and brooding personality. His strength and bravery and his kindness towards Naina endeared him to me. His sense of responsibility and his word of honor means everything to him and when these very ideals test his happiness, it is very interesting to see how he copes with it. The romance between these two is quiet, slow and heartfelt. There dilemmas, difficulties and the challenges they face will make their love even more strong and I am sure touch other readers' hearts too just like it did mine.

The other characters like the rescue team made me visualize the problems and dangers these brave men face while protecting their country from enemies. Naina's parents specially her father made me so angry with his ancient mindset and his arrogance. Her mother is a weak woman without a backbone who follows her husband even when he is wrong and has accepted her unhappy state of life, blaming her daughter for it which was entirely stupid and made me feel sorry for Naina. Arjun's family is a loving lot and worlds apart from the bitter and unhappy family of Naina. All the characters are so beautifully portrayed that the stay with you even after you have read the book.

Shilpa has grown as a writer which shows in her writing. The dialogues are more crisp, the characters have more depth and the story narration more engaging.

All in all, Rescued by Love is a must read book that will no doubt keep you at the edge of your seat swiftly turning pages till the very end. Strongly recommended to everyone, enjoy this sweet romance that touches the heart and leaves the reader with a smile on his face. Super shiny 5 stars to Rescued by Love and I look forward to reading more from Shilpa in the future.

I received the book from the author and I am very thankful to her. The above review is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.

Originally, published at So Many Books, So little Time

The first thing that comes to mind in the aftermath of reading the book is that we just read a sweet feel-good story.
This is the story, a quintessential Mills and Boon, with a twist.
Naina, daughter of the Chief Justice of India and Col. Arjun fall in love with each ither during a rescue mission. The girl is betrothed to a Fatty politician who she obviously didn't want to marry even before this mission in the first place, the love gives her an added excuse. She says, "Marrying a man you didn't want was bad enough but marrying him when you wanted another would be torture"

But this is dear life, and nothing is less than twisted. There are other problems to look after: a servile mother, a domineering sonavabitch father, principles, the crooked, intricate concept of honour.
A leap of 6 months and fates will be decided. This is where you need to pick up the novel and see for yourselves what happens in the story next. Which means that I am asking you to read it. Which further means that this is a novel worth reading.
Character sketches are impeccable: the incorrigible father who would rather not go back on his words lest they backfire than break a marriage. Just like that. This character is crafted meticulously, because sad though it be, such people exist in flesh and bones and arrogance and much more. And such a character and its obstinacy makes the ending of the novel believable, and satisfying.

M&B novels are supposed to entertain you with romantic descriptions and a surreal boy-meets-girl-falls-in-love plot. This book manages to honour this image so well.
That said, it comes with its set of flaws. For one, it is a quick, fast-paced read. I, who can savour books for hours at stretch finished this book in a couple of hours. Because reader can be kept longing for more. Not more plot, the plot has been done right. Great even. The timings. The setting. The characters. Everything flows seamlessly into the plot. What reader seeks more of, is the description. Maybe a third person narration can be cited as the culprit but then the reader certainly has a right to know in detail the feelings and emotions of a character s/he has associated himself with for more than a 100 pages. So, we know Naina is getting a roller coaster of emotions, but which ones? THAT is a big question.
I also adore the wordplay within the dialogues, which were, in addition, succinct too. A great effort has gone into them.
This is where the characters lack. This is where everything gets neutral. The characters' actions will have you nodding in appreciation and not knowing their emotions would have you creasing your lips and forehead, both the things cancelling out to make it a great read, if not a brilliant one.

❣️The book ended with the line".....𝐠𝐨𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦, 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐝." And yes god helped them !!

❣️Saved by love is the story of two lovebirds, Arjun and Naina who despite innumerable obstacles managed to come together and ascertained that "𝑻𝒓𝒖𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒔".The book is titled "Saved by love" because the female protagonist, Naina, daughter of Supreme Court Chief Justice, was abducted and falls in love with Lt. Col. Arjun who rescued her. This beautiful story of Arjun and Naina is all about true love, hardships faced by two people in love, societal differences and gender discrimination.

❣️As a book lover, I wanted to celebrate the Valentines week by reading a romance novel so I chose to go with this beautiful book. It was a light and enjoyable read for me. Initially, it was a slow read but later it became quite gripping. The author has very well talked about gender discrimination and societal differences still prevailing in the high-class Indian societies. The book is very well penned down and helped me to enhance my vocabulary. I feel Indian authors like Shilpa ma'am should be given more limelight so that we come across their work.

Bullseye! RESCUED BY LOVE
The name says it all! Yes, they are rescued – literally and by love. The title is so apt, the characters are so apt, the story is so apt, the conflict, the setting of Ladakh every damn thing about the book begs you to keep reading!

I finished the book in a few hours and like many of the books that stay with the reader long after you finish them, it called me back to read a few of the beautiful, expressive and at times lyrical, heart-tugging passages again and again.

When you read the book you will realise that the author has not only made use of words very fluidly but also her sense of humour and sarcasm is impeccable.

I have read Shilpa’s previous book The Girl He Left Behind and I was very eager to read her new book. I was not disappointed; in fact, I was delighted! The descriptions had me cracking up at times and a book that tugs at your heart and makes you laugh is a winner in my opinion.
“Actually, she looked a bit like a mango but he figured that might not be the most politically correct thing to say.”

The fact that Naina has such a crappy childhood, I was amazed she was not totally screwed up! The little pixie is the perfect example of ‘good things come in small packages.’ Beautiful, kind, fair, gentle and a great sense of humour she endears herself to everyone from the first page; except the terrorists and her old man! Go figure!!

Arjun is a warrior, a soldier, an officer and a gentleman; all rolled into one. An army officer with a heart of gold and a hunk to boot. Trust me when I say that Shilpa wrote him perfectly as I get to see on a regular basis many such handsome hunks that do our nation proud and I am on a first-name basis with many of them. She totally nailed Arjun and he is a dream come true to end all visions!

Aryan is the younger brother who is so sweet and understanding and he totally deserves a love story of his own. I hope you are planning something Shilpa.

I did not want to put this in my review but I had to say it, so here it is – in spite of very little sex and the steamy titillation many novels are filled with Rescued By Love is so classy and an engaging read. A very balanced novel! I sure as hell did not miss pages upon pages of mindless fondling and careless cavorting !! (It does not mean that the book lacks passion; it had a healthy dose in fact!)

A good book speaks for itself and RESCUED BY LOVE is its own sweet reward. After reading the book I had a very peaceful and comfortable state of mind knowing that I would be growing old reading books filled with love written by Shilpa.

The cherry on the cake is an author-signed copy of the book and I know that the world is going to be your oyster! You Rock!! Shilpa Suraj.

Naina, the only child of a Supreme Court Chief Justice, runs away from home to Leh, to avoid getting married to ‘Fatty’. Fatty is chosen by her father to advance his political career.

She is kidnapped by terrorists and kept as a hostage, days before her father must sentence the leader of the terrorist group. Lt Col Arjun Rathore and his team are sent on a mission to rescue Naina and bring her back to safety. And they do it with skill and tact.

As they trek back through the hostile terrain of Ladakh, Naina loses her heart to him. He is smitten by her too but turns her away for he believes that she is mistaking gratitude for attraction and also that she is way beyond his league.

Back in safety, the real world and its very real problems threaten – as do their own perceptions of the differences between them.

They must separate – but will life rescue their love?

Rescued by Love is Shilpa’s second book. I have read her debut novel The Girl He Left Behind and enjoyed reading it! And what do I say about this one! Well, that I was simply blown away! I could not put this book down. My heart was racing through as I turned page after page and joined Naina and Arjun in their tumultuous love and life journey.

Rescued by Love is a heart-warming story of the power of love, parting and re-uniting in love and finding oneself in the process. I simply loved Arjun, he made my heart flutter madly too. Shilpa did a great job with his character! Naina’s character as a strong yet sweet girl despite the odds against her has been etched out beautifully. Excitement, passion, wit and humour are woven in beautifully in the telling of this story. The development of the characters and the plot which is well written with vivid descriptions, pulls you in from the first page.

Shilpa’s writing is amazing, I love the way she has written this story with passion and humour and with enough realism.

This is one book that you will keep reading way into the night and I am re-reading it again soon! And did I tell you that the first half of the book is my absolute favourite! The ending is a bit melodramatic for my taste but that’s ok.

Rescued by Love is highly recommend for anyone looking for a refreshingly beautiful story with and some realistic romance and action!

Well done, Shilpa. I'll be keeping an eye out for your next book!

Am I ever glad that I received a copy of "Rescued by Love" by Indian author Shilpa Suraj! It was a wonderful read that I devoured within two days (didn’t have the time to read it in one sitting).

There’s a lot to love about this romantic suspense novel set in India. It starts with a bang, smack in the middle of a kidnapping in Ladakh that makes your heart ache for the heroine Naina. What follows is an adventurous hike through the mountains. It’s a roller-coaster-ride of action, emotion and interesting character development. The hero Arjun – intensely droolworthy, if I may say so – is part of the team that rescues Naina, the daughter of a wealthy, influential Supreme Court Chief Justice (and an outright jerk). Of course the two fall head over heels in love with each other. It seemed predictable, which the characters themselves acknowledge, and which is one reason why they don’t give in to their powerful feelings – the other reason being that Naina is to marry "Fatty", an ugly and brainless politician from the uppermost of the upper social strata. Of course their status in society stands in the way of love too.
The predictability stopped right there. The author managed to weave a tale with credible developments and unexpected twists, and with nicely fleshed out protagonists that you can’t help rooting for. I loved the way Naina dealt with her selfish tyrant of a father and with her backbone-less puppet of a mother. It was wonderful to see her change and grow.
I was really surprised at the way Suraj made Naina and Arjun meet again. It was simply brilliantly executed. Things got more and more complicated, and I found myself biting my nails at times because I wanted them to have their Happily Ever After so badly. They do get it, and in a wonderful way that once again combines hilarious and tragic moments and makes their strengths (and the author’s) stand out.
What added to the power of the book was the crisp writing style of the author. She stuck to simple but crafty language that fit the theme of the story well and made the novel thoroughly entertaining.
As if that isn’t enough to make a reader happy, we have secondary characters that are just perfect and play a crucial role too. Thanks for giving me Aryan, another hunk to drool over while Arjun is busy with his Naina…

I had previously read The Girl He Left Behind by Shilpa Suraj and really enjoyed it, so when I got a chance to read her latest release, Rescued by Love, I went for it. I have to say I liked Rescued by Love even more than her previous book. Rescued by Love was a sweet and quick romance read.

Naina is our heroine. She is the daughter of the Supreme Court Chief Justice and she is kidnapped as hostage days before he must sentence a terrorist. I really liked Naina. She was such a strong heroine. The circumstances under which she meets Arjun are horrific and yet she tries to make the best out of the situation. I loved how she remained such a sweet and nice girl even after her awful family issues.

Then we have Arjun. Arjun is the one who rescues Naina. Arjun was quite the typical tall, dark and handsome guy. He was an introvert in comparison to the bubbly nature which Naina shared. He didn't know what to do with his sudden feelings for Naina and tries his best to ignore them. But he definitely comes around.

I really liked the chemistry Naina and Arjun shared. While Naina wanted to jump head first into her feelings, Arjun was more hesitant. But they both couldn't deny the attraction. It seems like the universe is always stacking up odds against their favor and we do get to see that throughout the book. I do wish Arjun would have acted towards Naina sooner but then again, he wouldn't be the Arjun we knew then.

Shilpa Suraj weaves an exciting tale through Ladakh to Goa. The story was very engaging and I was really rooting throughout for Naina and Arjun to finally get together. A special mention goes out to Arjun's brother Aryan, he was an amazing younger brother with a good sense of humor who wanted what was best for Arjun. Rescued by Love was a good read.

*Note: A copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. We thank them.

Oh my, where do I start… don’t we all love a little action, some tingling thrill, along with hot passionate romance. A little distance from the loved one, tiny misunderstanding and then getting reunited by divine faith, or shall I say a practical, concerned brother.

‘Rescued By Love’ has all these elements and more. Naina meets handsome, tough, six-pack-abs-type Lt. Colonel Arjun, on the treacherous mountains of Laddakh, where she has been kidnapped by the terrorists. Macho Arjun and his team rescues, the petite Naina (love the name) and for four days, they walk to the nearest army base and love blossoms. But she has been promised to someone. Bound by moral code and honor, they sacrifice their love once and… again.

Will Naina survive her heart breaking not once, but twice? Will Arjun ever put her above his self-inflicted principles? Shilpa Suraj keeps throwing these fantastic twists throughout the fast-paced story, with exceptional word-weaving skill.

‘Rescued By Love’ is a dazzling, sensuous, romantic story, right from the terrors of Laddakh to festivities of Goa, which keeps the reader on the toes of their mind :-). The protagonists are charismatic yet rooted, beautiful yet relatable. The supporting characters are well etched, be it Arjun’s fiancée or his brother, Naina’s friends Ethan and Priya, even the army team members struck a chord with me.

Superb narration with, right balance of dialogues and prose, made Rescued By Love one of the most wonderful read.

Tender, passionate, action packed page turner. Highly recommended!

This book was not on my radar, but I picked this up, because I was reading a particularly unsettling, but awesome (yeah, go figure!) book, and romance is the best possible happy diversion for me. I pick it [romances] up to tide me through difficult books, stressful times etc.

This one was the first one I read by this author, and I quite liked it. It fulfilled my expectations from a romance. There were a couple of character motivations that I could not understand, but honestly, I never really scrutinize character motives in a romance. I mean, unless it directly hampers the main plot, and in this one - it does not. Also, these are smaller/side characters that I am talking about, so it wasn't a big deal.

The romance was enjoyable, and in a (very) different setting than I am used to reading, which was refreshing. I would certainly check out another book by this author.

I have really loved this book a lot. The good thing about the book is that author never let you guess till end about what's going to happen. Every time you turn a page, something new and unexpected happens. Another thing I loved is the character of Aryan, Arjun's little brother. He will make you laugh a lot and will make reading the book even a better experience. As far as Arjun is concerned, he is extremely hot and sexy. At some points, even I was drooling like Naina over him. I just loved him so much.
I would highly recommend this book to all the romance lovers out there.

Shilpa Suraj's second book "Rescued by Love" begins with a bang. It grabs the reader by her eyeballs, pulls at her heart strings and doesn't let go till she has turned the last page. An enjoyable and superbly written story, it has all the makings of a Bollywood masala flick. Opening in the spectacular surroundings of Ladakh, moving on to party-destination Goa and ending up in Delhi, Shilpa weaves a mesmeric tale.

The uber-hot hero, Lt. Col Arjun Rathore, meets his match in the petite and feisty Naina, when he rescues her from a bunch of nasty terrorists. But when it comes to love, who rescues whom? Read it to find out!

She ....

She is Naina. She is the daughter of the Chief Justice and is a part of the elite society. She has everything money can buy - except a set of loving parents. Trying to teach her parents a lesson, when she is forced to marry a fatso (weight-ism!!!), she decides to run away. Trouble follows her and she is kidnapped! Not a nice place to be in but if Arjun comes to rescue me, I wouldn't mind for half a day. Only half a day, mind you.... I don't have time to spare. :D

I loooove Naina's character. She is, as described by the writer, 'a ray of sunshine.' Spunky, cute and having a high dose of humor. Being brought up by such parents should have sent her to a mental asylum but thankfully she is not a wilted rose. The girl knows her mind and does not hesitate to speak for herself.

He...

He is Arjun. Lt Col Arjun Rathore. Macho as a man can get. He is the one who rescues her and while trekking back home, falls in love with her. But he knows she is out of his league. So when the time to say goodbye comes, he does not hesitate and walks away... leaving her heart broken.

Arjun is shown as an Alpha male but he has his own weaknesses too. I liked that. Made him more real. His doubts, his fears and his vulnerability in love was very heart touching.

The Story....

The story has all the ingredients to turn it into a Bollywood flick. Hritik and Katreena... (See Til *Til is my inner, nagging conscience.*.. no Salman Khan . I don't believe in nepotism :P)I could almost visualise the movie. The story is very well written. Shilpa Suraj knows how to play with words. She is one of those picturesque writers who will draw an emotion with her word. Naina's sadness became my sadness. Her spurts of laughter was mine and her anger had me want to kill the father.

I had some aha moments in this book. To quote a few...

"Chuckling softly, Arjun took in her indignant little pixie face. She looked like a ragamuffin with that ragged haircut and grimy face."

"Drawing herself up to the full extent of her 5-feet-nothing, Naina tried for dignity and failed miserably."

Her way of writing is very free flowing. The words are threaded together with an ease. Characters are very well etched though in some instances a bit overboard. There is nothing wrong in that. While using your own imagination you can never go wrong. It is your world, your imagination. I do know fathers like Naina's do exist. The need for a son is so profound in some families that it is not a surprise when girls are treated as such. Sad but true. The less said about the politicians of our country - the better. Our TV serials have also fueled our imagination so I could visualize parents like that.

A waif of a girl with big, lost eyes and long tangled hair, who is hurt and has her hands bound. A creepy man watching, reaching out lecherous hands. Fear. Screams.Threats. The opening of Shilpa Suraj’s romance Rescued by Love is dramatic and intriguing. Is this a romance or a suspense thriller? Who is this girl and why has she been kidnapped? What is her destiny?

These questions are soon answered as the kidnapper, a terrorist leader, makes his appearance. He warns Naina that her fate will parallel that of a militant, who is shortly to be sentenced by her father, a Supreme Court Chief Justice. We are given hints of a domineering father who has little love for his daughter, a prig who is more concerned with his image than his daughter’s fate. He has arranged her marriage to a man cast in the same mould as himself, to pass off the burden that he thinks she is. Our heart lurches with anxiety as we feel the story moving inexorably towards a tragic end.

Then enters the tall, handsome, intrepid Lieutenant Colonel Arjun Rathore and we begin to breathe again. Arjun and his small team infiltrate the enemy camp to rescue Naina and escort her through hostile terrain towards safety. Arjun is Naina’s saviour, the first person in her life to show signs of caring and integrity, to bring her hope. She begins to dream of a future with him, though he stonewalls her, as he is only too aware that he is nobody compared to this girl from a powerful family. But proximity and the latent attraction between them lead to an emotional high. He pushes her away, suspecting that she is clinging to him out of gratitude and will realise this herself as soon as she returns to her normal surroundings. All too soon, they must separate, and any feelings they have must be forgotten.

Has Naina found true love or heartbreak? Fate throws several hurdles in their path and she must find a way to overcome them if she wishes to achieve her heart’s desire. But her reluctant lover ties himself in knots that seem impossible to unravel. Find out how it all ends by following the fast-paced twists and turns in the story as the two struggle towards each other. Discover how values and principles, self-respect and family pressures create a maelstrom that seems to spell disaster.

Now, what’s so attractive about Rescued by Love? Sensuous, smooth, sparkling prose and a plot that takes us hurtling from the heights of Ladakh to the beaches of Goa. Scintillating protagonists whose emotions whirl us along on a roller coaster ride. Colourful characters like the ‘fruity’, top-heavy Jahnvi and Naina’s fiancé ― the fat man with the straggly moustache. Arjun’s brother, the genial Aryan. Their amusing parents. And a story line that is crystal clear and takes you along on a scorching ride. Buy your copy now on Amazon. You will love it for sure.

Rescued by Love is a make-you-feel-good book with a happy ending which is usually with most of the romance stories but I recommend this book especially for the story and the characters. You will definitely fall in love with them.

When you have a opening line which is as enticing as it can get, you are pretty sure that the following pages will be nothing short of excitement that makes your pulse race every second. And believe me the book lived up to my expectation with a perfect balance of romance, action and drama.

The start is racy with some action scenes in the terrain of Ladakh, followed by the blossoming of love between the kidnapped Naina Ahuja and her rescuer Lt Col Arjun Rathore, infact Naina was smitten by the suave Lt Col at his first sight and then what follows is the journey of their hearts through trying situations and turn of events. It is a story of coming together first then sort of parting ways only to be together again! And in the process trying to know each other better.

What is more impressive apart from the plot? Definitely the characters. Each and every character has been superbly dealt with bringing out the perfect blend of emotions while reading. Naina's character brings out that rigidness along with a sweet aura of romance and innocence to her whereas Arjun's character makes your heart flutter just as Naina's did in the story. Also a special mention to Aryan's character. Yes, it is so well penned. And when it is flavoured with perfect use of words, it adds to the overall effect making you visualize the story in front of your eyes.

A story with a good choice of words makes it more interesting to read and the author does justice to it with her writing and narration.

Meet Naina Ahuja, strong and determined. She is the daughter of the Supreme Court Chief Justice who runs away from her home to Leh to escape the arranged marriage with 'Fatty'. During her escapade, she is kidnapped by terrorists who demand her father that he release their leader.

Meet Lt. Col. Arjun Rathore, brave and the man of his words. He leads the team of officers who have come to rescue Naina from her captors.

On their journey back home, both fall for each other but fate has different plans and they must part ways. When they meet again, will they be able to reunite or must they part ways again?

The story is amazing with so many twists and turns. Shilpa has done a great job in capturing the attention of readers throughout the story. The story gets interesting with each page and
the twists and turns will make you wonder what will happen in the end? I just couldn't put down the book until I finished it.

I loved Naina and Arjun whose characters are portrayed so well that they feel like real persons. It is difficult not to fall in love with Arjun's personality as the story progresses and I was definitely not an exception to his charms! There is perfect balance of humor and excitement in the story to keep the readers interested throughout.

I just loved Shilpa's writing and I definitely look forward to reading more books by her. I recommend this for readers who are love romance.

I read this book as I was down with the flu yesterday. But in no time, I was engrossed in the lives of Arjun and Naina. I loved the well etched characters that were brought to life by Shilpa. I read her debut novel last year and remember being quite impressed with her writing skills. So when Shilpa was giving away a few copies of her books for New Year's, I did not hesitate in asking for a copy of Rescued By Love. Thank you once more for sending me this book, Shilpa!

I thoroughly enjoyed the journey that takes us across Ladakh to Goa. Arjun was absolutely drool worthy as a hero but it was Naina who won over my heart. I so love that the female protagonists in Shilpa's novels are bold and independent women who carve a niche out for themselves in the world.

I liked reading about Fatty (reminded me of an old slob that I used to work with!), Aryan, Jahanvi and the rest of their families. Like her previous novel, the rest of the secondary characters are well developed and have the scope of telling their own stories in future books. I would love to read about Aryan more as he sounds like a fun person, not to mention gorgeous.

Read this one if you are loving for the perfect love story to spend your afternoon with. And the scenic beauty of Goa (which was already on my list) and Ladakh described by Shilpa has made me all the more determined to visit these places at least once. Loved it :)

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. Primarily, because, I am myself very much inclined towards the men in uniform J And, with a narrator like Shipla Suraj and a strong story with a convincing plot, I couldn’t ask for more in this platter! While reading, you will enjoy the seriousness of the situation as she has depicted, the dilemma, which the characters go through, the panic that the characters face and the venom that her family spits on her face. Yes, families of such a kind do exist and surprisingly, on the superior strata of the society.

Though, I personally, found the ending to be somewhat dramatic but if this belongs to a Mills and Boon romantic genre; it has to be meant this way only. As the scenes change the aura she creates with her words changes. The transformation of the theme from a mission to the marriage is smooth, relatable, understanding, gripping yet entertaining. The character traits were intense, be it professional commitments, familial bonds or nurturing love, all have been taken care off with sensibility.

Phenomenal! Everything that I have to say about this book revolves pretty much around this word. This is such an amazing and well-written book that I’d recommend it to any one who is a die-hard romance fan. I absolutely loved the way Shilpa has written this one. The pace of the story is one of the best I’ve come across in some time. You can feel the romance emanating from the pages! There is not much explicit content around intimacy – just the usual – and yet I had goosebumps for almost all the time I was reading this one.

She makes no elaborate descriptions of her characters – in very few words, she conveys to you just as much as is needed to know about one and then lets you work your way through the rest. The characters and situations feel real. My favorite, very obviously, is Arjun. Not only because of the very apparent reasons, but also because of the way Shilpa has portrayed him. He just makes your heart melt!

Having read Shilpa’s first book, The Girl He Left Behind, what also impressed the reader in me was her growth as a writer. Fabulous! Kudos to you Shilpa. This one is definitely a treat – one that I wouldn’t mind gorging on again and again and again.

I was disappointed. Picked up a mills and boon after what felt like a million years and Shilpa's book left me wanting. I know I picked up the book because she is a school friends sister and how cool is that... To know an actual mills and boon author. So I got the book. Read it. Enjoyed it. Loved it even. But it was over so soon. So i am dissappointed. Now I am wanting more stories from her. So please quickly scribble a few more Shilpa... You are talented and funny and your characters are interesting people and I look forward to reading them all... Don't disappoint me again... Write a longer book!

It is a story of love and heartbreak. It is sensuous, smooth and romantic and a plot that takes us through several hurdles in their path, from the hostile terrain of Ladakh to the beaches of Goa. Rescued by Love is definitely an emotional roller-coaster ride with many strong characters that add spice to the story. The high maintenance Jahnvi- Arjun’s fiancé , the Fatty- Naina’s fiancé and Arjun’s brother Aryan, the warm and sensible one are portrayed well.

Thoroughly enjoyable romantic novel. I loved the characters of Naina Ahuja - independent and vulnerable at the same time and Arjun - So knowledgeable when on job, but so lost when it comes to love. Quite a combination of characters. The many characters in the novel are very well maintained and consistent including Arjun's brother, father and mother. The same is for Naina's family. Very well-written.
