I left home because I didn’t want to end up in a cage like a lab rat. Hitching rides, begging for cash, and sleeping on the ground got old fast. That was the only reason I braved an overgrown path to a group of buildings. I’d hoped to find a bed and a decent night’s sleep. However, what I found was a place overrun by werewolves.

While on the run, Charlene finds herself surr

I loved this book, LOVED IT

Warning: I was given this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review and all that fun stuff, and honesty is what I do

Warning #2: I am in love with this series - just letting you know ;) Also that it is part of a series, that while this book takes place mostly in the past there might be one or two titty bitty spoilers from the previous books, you have been warned

Song Choice: "Change Your Mind" by the Killers, "Shelter" by The XX

First thoughts: Wow, I was so intrigued

I didn't think I would like going back in time right in the middle of a series but Charlene's story is so engaging from the very beginning that I completely forgot it was decades in the past! She is also my favorite heroine in the series. She is kind and cares deeply for others, making her very easy to love. Thomas was also great fun to read. He is also exactly the opposite of the heroes so far,in that he DOESN'T want Charlene, humans or anyone not of his "kind" to live! It was fun seeing him sl ...more

4 stars -- Hmmmm...this book both answered a bunch of questions, and left me wanting more all at the same time. I think I expected to get different things out of it, but that doesn't diminish what I did get.

I loved seeing just how completely different the werewolf community was before Charlene came along. Like, seriously people, crazy different. It was crazy intriguing to watch them resist the change, but then listen to the rather wise things that Charlene

Compared to other 4 star books this one probably should be rated lower, but I really enjoyed the flashback to Charlene' s story and how it all began. There are still pace issues and the writing isn't flawless however the plot and characters are completely original and the individual stories are all finally coming together. Thomas is incredibly sweet! Clean read. I wish I didn't know she was 15 though. I get that it's normal for their kind, but as the reader I still have human sensibilities and 1 ...more

Spoiler-Free Review:

Rating: ★★★★

This review will not spoil book 4, (Un)Bidden, but it may contain small details from the first 3 books that some could be construed as spoilers, again I would never mention any major spoilers within my reviews!

I am unabashedly a huge fan of this series! I am also a fan of shifter/were books, but I don’t read a ton of them, but I wouldn’t avoid them either. I know we all have a genre we love or hate…but do me a favor and break your rules or comfort zone to read th

I really wanted to give this book a higher rating, but there was just too many glaring plot holes for me to really like this book.

Let's start at the beginning, with the ultra paper-thin premise. (Note that below really only spoils the first chapter, so I didn't hide that part of the review).

So the main character, Charlene, can control people's minds/wills, but she hates using her powers and feels that controlling people is evil. She has an ex-friend named Penny who hates her because Charlene h

Another great book in the series! I read this one in a day, a week after starting the first book; I'm addicted! Book 4 goes slightly back in time to catch us up on the 4th sister of the Six. We read about Gabby (Hope), Michelle (Prosperity), Bethi (Wisdom), and have met a few times the eldest, Charlene (Strength), who lives at the werewolf compound. Now we get to read her story as the first (in this lifetime anyway) of the 6: the first to realize she was not quite human and was compatible with t ...more

Thanks Wicked Reads for a free book to read and review. This book was fantastic. Perfectly young adult and totally werewolves. I really thought the next book was going to be different so this entire book has really thrown me. Fantastic writing, and I'm so engrossed. I hate the time I have to spend between books but this series has been absolutely perfect so far. Charlene is the major character in this book and her trials of what she went through. Last week, I was very lucky to get my hands on an advanced copy of (Un)bidden. If you are a fan of Melissa's Judgement of the Six series, you'll love this. It tells Charlene's story and how she was instrumental in bringing the werewolves together. The romance between Charlene and Thomas was so sweet and natural and I totally fell in love with Thomas. I can't say much more without giving away spoilers. Seriously though, if you haven't started this series, you should. And if you are waiting on (Un ...more

Why this order?

The order of the books seems off. I wish I had read this book first, it makes a lot of stuff make sense.

It was wow... strange but wow, like a werewolf version of Tarzan. Very interesting style of writing, intense plot, and actually very fresh idea positioning books. This book it's first story in timeline but it's fourth in series because it show us how past reflects the present and affects the future. But my bad, I really want to know how Charlene made a community from their position in her youth to community now.

Excellent addition to this series! I loved reading about Charlene and Thomas.

It was good to read more about the werewolf community Charlene finds herself in when she is looking for a safe place to sleep. Charlene keeps to herself at first, but slowly she starts to take part in the community and warms up to her new life, despite the dangers she faces.

The pacing of (Un)bidden is slower than the other books, and I liked this chance to learn more about claiming, the Elders, and the wolves themselve

"(Un)Bidden" the fourth exciting novel in the young adult paranormal "Judgement series" takes a step back into Charlene's teen years, her meeting with the werewolves, her romance with Thomas and the establishment of a sanctuary where its permissible to keep secrets. After escaping bullying at school Charlene flees to Canada and stumbles onto a group of dilapidated buildings where she thinks she's safe until suddenly surrounded by a pack of werewolves, several who want to claim her as their mate. ...more

Want to thank the author Melissa Haag and Ashley at Mark My Words Book Publicity for gifting me this book for a honest review, thank you. Super happy to be part of this!!!!!

In this 4th installment, we are taken back to the past, Charlene's past. I feel she is the most powerful of the group, being able to control everyone's will is powerful stuff. When Charlene is fifteen she runs away from home, not wanting to put her family at risk and not wanting her

As readers found out, in the other judgment of the six, Charlene is the original human who is a compatible mate with were-wolves. (Un)Bidden focuses on Charlene’s story and how she made the pack assimilate (to a point) to human society.

(Un)Bidden begins with Charlene’s teenage years. A bully, who knows that she can control people with her mind, is making her life miserable in school, because the fact that Charlene is different bothers her. The bully films Charlene control her (to defend herself

Unbidden is the fourth book in the Judgment of Six series. I will say again that these books should be read in order for readers to get the full experience of the series. I think a lot of these books will be confusing if not read in order. This book in particular actually goes into the past before most of our present characters are alive. This story tells us more about how the community represented in the future was shaped.
Unbidden is the story of Charlene, who we meet in all of the other books.

*I’d like to thank the author for providing me an ARC of this book, in exchange for an honest review.*

It’s been a pretty long time since I read the third installment in this series. Luckily for me, this book was a kind of prequel. Almost all of it took place quite a few years before the first book, so I didn’t really need to remember much. That being said, I did remember liking a lot of Melissa Haag’s romances, and this one was no exception.

Charlene was a really good heroine. As her ability

This book takes us into the past, it’s almost like a prequel. Charlenes story is a little weird because her powers are still kind of…. I mean, we know what her powers are but the usefulness remains to be seen within the six. Its my understanding that nobody really knows the full extent of her powers yet. Except for her.

This one starts the beginning of the cycle, she is the youngest of the six at the time of their claiming, which kinda pisses me off shes on
I loved Charlene since the second she was introduced in Hope(less) and was really excited to see how she was able to make such drastic changes in an entire species in such a short amount of time.
This book starts by showing us what Charlene's life was like before she came to the compound and met Thomas. She's a girl with the strange ability to control the will of others. Force her will onto them, and make them do whatever she want's to do. But ever since she discovered this ability she was very

I received an ARC of the book as a promotion from the author. If you've read the other books, this is break in the pace from the third book. This book gives Charlene's story which started almost 30 or so years before. This book gives a lot of back story for the werewolves and how they discovered how the "claiming" was done. It was fun getting to see so many characters from previous books when they were new and fresh. Though the pace of this book was much s
I love this series, guys. LOVE IT. Ridiculous amounts. Like, I reread book 1 whenever I'm feeling down and it makes me feel better. Because Gabby and Clay are awesome and their romance is so unbelievably sweet and I always want more when I get to the end of ANY of the books.

This book was no different. I loved it. I loved seeing how Charlene and Thomas found a way to be together. I loved watching Charlene strive to make a difference in the werewolves lives. And I wanted more when I got to the end

If you haven’t started reading this series, I suggest starting with book four (Un)Bidden. Aside from the first and last scenes, the book happens prior to the rest of the series. It gets a solid 4.4 stars from me.
As with the other books, this story hits the ground running. Charlene is another teenager with inexplicable powers. Her reason for running, however, it different from that of most of the other girls.

Another fantastic book to add to the judgement series.
This book was about the lovely Charlene (Will) who as we know from the previous books, has the ability to bend other people's will to match her own, she can also make people forget things, and ultimately control them. This is a secret that even in the present day she keeps to herself and Thomas doesn't know.
So, this little slice of booky heaven, is the story of how Charlene found the wolves, got an extremely messed up scarred neck, and fell

When I first began reading I became lost quickly and was worried I was going to hate it. I hadn't read the first books in this series and I believe they are a must to follow what is happening in the first chapter and in the last chapters. That said, once I get past the 1st chapter where it seems to have picked up after the last book, it goes into the past giving you the fantastic story of Thomas and Charlene.
