I left home because I didn’t want to end up in a cage like a lab rat. Hitching rides, begging for cash, and sleeping on the ground got old fast. That was the only reason I braved an overgrown path to a group of buildings. I’d hoped to find a bed and a decent night’s sleep. However, what I found was a place overrun by werewolves.

While on the run, Charlene finds herself surr

I didn't think I would like going back in time right in the middle of a series but Charlene's story is so engaging from the very beginning that I completely forgot it was decades in the past! She is also my favorite heroine in the series. She is kind and cares deeply for others, making her very easy to love. Thomas was also great fun to read. He is also exactly the opposite of the heroes so far,in that he DOESN'T want Charlene, humans or anyone not of his "kind" to live! It was fun seeing him sl ...more

I loved this book, LOVED IT

Warning: I was given this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review and all that fun stuff, and honesty is what I do

Warning #2: I am in love with this series - just letting you know ;) Also that it is part of a series, that while this book takes place mostly in the past there might be one or two titty bitty spoilers from the previous books, you have been warned

Song Choice: "Change Your Mind" by the Killers, "Shelter" by The XX

First thoughts: Wow, I was so intrigued

4.5 stars — I don’t know, I feel like I enjoyed this one even more the second time around. I still had the same issues with Charlene’s age, it just WASN’T believable AT ALL, and I think I would have enjoyed it way more if she’d even just been 16 going on 17 instead of 15 going on 16. A lot changes in the teen years. And I realize now that the reason it didn’t bother me with Mary as much is that she is a Werewolf, and thus the way she grew up and

Compared to other 4 star books this one probably should be rated lower, but I really enjoyed the flashback to Charlene' s story and how it all began. There are still pace issues and the writing isn't flawless however the plot and characters are completely original and the individual stories are all finally coming together. Thomas is incredibly sweet! Clean read. I wish I didn't know she was 15 though. I get that it's normal for their kind, but as the reader I still have human sensibilities and 1 ...more

Spoiler-Free Review:

Rating: ★★★★½

This review will not spoil book 4, (Un)Bidden, but it may contain small details from the first 3 books that some could be construed as spoilers, again I would never mention any major spoilers within my reviews!

I am unabashedly a huge fan of this series! I am also a fan of shifter/were books, but I don’t read a ton of them, but I wouldn’t avoid them either. I know we all have a genre we love or hate…but do me a favor and break your rules or comfort zone to read t

In all honesty, I almost didn't read this book and wasn't sure I would continue with this series... book three was a bit disappointing for me, and I don't usually like to jump BACK in time. which I knew would be inevitable with this book. I'm so, so glad I decided to give it a try anyway! This book turned out to be my favorite in the series so far. and I loved seeing Charlene and Thomas' romance unfold. I'm a little disappointed that more questions weren't answered, and this book (again) ended q ...more

I really wanted to give this book a higher rating, but there was just too many glaring plot holes for me to really like this book.

Let's start at the beginning, with the ultra paper-thin premise. (Note that below really only spoils the first chapter, so I didn't hide that part of the review).

So the main character, Charlene, can control people's minds/wills, but she hates using her powers and feels that controlling people is evil. She has an ex-friend named Penny who hates her because Charlene h

Another great book in the series! I read this one in a day, a week after starting the first book; I'm addicted! Book 4 goes slightly back in time to catch us up on the 4th sister of the Six. We read about Gabby (Hope), Michelle (Prosperity), Bethi (Wisdom), and have met a few times the eldest, Charlene (Strength), who lives at the werewolf compound. Now we get to read her story as the first (in this lifetime anyway) of the 6: the first to realize she was not quite human and was compatible with t ...more

Thanks Wicked Reads for a free book to read and review. This book was fantastic. Perfectly young adult and totally werewolves. I really thought the next book was going to be different so this entire book has really thrown me. Fantastic writing, and I'm so engrossed. I hate the time I have to spend between books but this series has been absolutely perfect so far. Charlene is the major character in this book and her trials of what she went through. I'm mesmerized by the authors storytelling and th ...more

Last week, I was very lucky to get my hands on an advanced copy of (Un)bidden. If you are a fan of Melissa's Judgement of the Six series, you'll love this. It tells Charlene's story and how she was instrumental in bringing the werewolves together. The romance between Charlene and Thomas was so sweet and natural and I totally fell in love with Thomas. I can't say much more without giving away spoilers. Seriously though, if you haven't started this series, you should. And if you are waiting on (Un ...more

(Un)Bidden was a wonderful surprise. In this book we go back to the beginning of this cycle and we learn how Charlene, the Judgement of Strength, came to be among the werewolves before everything on this crazy journey has started.

Here's the thing, I will admit that I didn't think I would like Charlene's book. I knew that it would be told from the past and I couldn't see how I would like a book that was told mainly as a flash back but I was interested in Charlene, she was the first to appear and

I wanted to like this book a lot more than I ended up liking it. To be honest, the plot was clunky and the romance was a bit too weird. Charlene is a fifteen year-old teenager who is on the run after a bully at her school threatens to reveal her "gift": she can control people's minds.
She stumbles upon a pack of werewolves who instantly treat her like a chew toy.
Warily, she settles in with the pack of boys/wolves, even though all of them are eyeing her like the last piece of bacon on planet earth

Okey, so, when I first realized that this story wasn't about Isabelle I was annoyed. The previous book left us kind of hanging and I was impatient to get on with the story.
But as soon as I started actually readying my annoyance was quickly forgotten. You simply cannot read this books and not like them. The writing is so light, it's the perfect thing to get you out of a reading slump.

Charlene had to grow up way to quickly. None of this girls had an easy happy life, but having to leave your home

This series just gets better and better! Lord almighty, WHAT has kept me from reading this spectacular book for so long?

Charlene has been kind of in the background up until this point, even though she is a vital part of our favorite pack of wolves and the catalyst that gave the wolves a chance to thrive. We've only seen Charlene as the motherly figure that cares and cooks for the pack, but now we get to see how it all began for Charlene. We get to see her makings into the Alpha Female and get a

(Un)bidden follows Charlene's story and helps explains a lot about discovering humans are of interest to the survival of werewolves. Charlene ran away from home to protect herself and her family but ends up finding refuge in a derelict house hidden away that is owned by werewolves which tend to bite first ask questions later. But Charlene just wants a safe haven. (Un)bidden really helped me to understand what was going on before Hope(less) began. It also gave an insight into why Charlene was par ...more

Good series, great book !

This was such a great book, it was interesting to read about Charlene’s past and how the compound came about ! It was a really well written book and I would recommend reading it if you’ve read the other books in the series ! The books have definitely gotten better through the series, I didn’t love the first book but I enjoyed the second and third and loved this one, I wish this had been the first book in the series I think it would make more sense and give the series a

We had already seen Charlene in the series and I was not at all looking forward to her story thinking it would be boring since we already know the outcome. I was surprised when this book became my second favorite in the series.

Yeey! Charlene. I didnt have a clue how and what she was and now this book had me cheering her on!!! Poor girl! she just kept getting bit...but finally found her prince charming lol. loved it. She has amazing power...and im also scared for her but i think EVERYONE else should be scared of her. I liked the back story and how she was the first judgment to be introduced!

Fantastic! I’ve been wondering how Charlene got started in this wild, weird life. This explains why Mary and Gregory are godparents and how Thomas and her mated and that she is still keeping secrets from him!! Also, it was cool to see how Grey got his start. I love this series!! The characters are so real and vivid and they aren’t helpless little biddies.

You could read the last 10% and be caught up. The rest is a flip the house story. Cooking. Scavenging. Denying poor Thomas. Sheesh. And then when they mate, it’s not even romantic. I really want to know the end of the whole Judgment thing. It had better be good since I suffered through the prior two novels. I expect Isabelle’s story to be good.

2.8 ⭐️⭐️

📚Un(Biden) Charlene and Thomas’s story and I expected way to much from reading the previous books.

📖This was one of those repetitive books that kept repeating the same thing over and over again and felt it went on longer than it should.

✨It was great to read more about how Charlene and Thomas met, it could have been a novella with less that 150 pages. That would have been great

This book is different than the other 3 you get more of a back story to the compound but also see how Charlene and Thomas learned how to work out the different claiming process.

The plot was okay but I HATE books in a series that are told in the past and do not really contribute to the plot of the series. I think the author could have simply explained Charlene’s gift and saved me hours of reading.

Ugh I have so many thoughts about this one but I'm going to combine my review for this book with Thomas's Heart since they have the same plot so I'm going to rant my thoughts there! K bye!

Big reveal!

Charlene is still keeping her secret. Can Thomas forgive and deal with it? I'm kinda glad to know what Charlene dealt with but this book felt a bit like a resting place in the story arc. Waiting for the story to resume now.

Such a wonderful, descriptive world! I love this author. The women, girls really, have such a difficult life w their abilities more inhibiting their life, than helping. But the families? Such strength, and determination. Love. The last decision is coming...

The order of the books seems off. I wish I had read this book first, it makes a lot of stuff make sense.
