Although a little dated, the information in this book is a real eye opener. It goes into great detail about the history of computer viruses up until 1988. It also talks about the Internet, (or InterNet as it was written during the time.) When the book starts going into detail about bulletin boards, you realize very little has changed since the early days of social media.

The late John McAfee published a book in '89 on computer viruses. Contains commented x86 disassemblies for a few viruses from the time. That said, for the retro-security inclined, you'd be better off with a copy of The Little Black Book of Computer Viruses (1991)
