Veterinary intern Emily can't believe she wound up in the small town of Sunshine, Idaho, instead of in a Los Angeles clinic like she had always imagined. Now she has to put her plans to move to L.A. on hold for a whole year while she fulfills the obligation of her vet school scholarship.

Then Wyatt, her gorgeous one-night stand from a Reno vet conference, introduces himsel

“Life isn’t in the planning, baby. Life’s in the living.”

description

Then Came You by Jill Shalvis is book five in her Animal Magnetism series. I am a huge fan of this author and reading her books is always like coming home. This time we are back in Sunshine, Idaho revisiting the lovable crew at Belle Haven. This author seems to follow a familiar formula with many of her books; however, it is a formula that works and keeps me engrossed

I'm not sure I can adequately express just how terrible this cover is. I mean, look at it.

Actually, no, sorry, don't; don't look at it.

I know this is a romance novel--I didn't need the horrible cover to confirm that--but with all the awkward photo-shopping going on with this one, it's particularly bad.

Thankfully, Jill Shalvis's novels are most definitely not bad. I haven't picked up her Animal Magnetism Series, mostly because I'm a bit of an anti-animal person myself (I'm scared of dogs and c

I really love the way this author write her characters. I can't help but like them, they never fail to be good honest what you want in a friend types. She ups that by adding animals, animal rescue, animal search and rescue, Veterinarians. Did I mention cute animals ? Adorable ones.
This book follows a young woman on her internship Veterinarian tour. She is sent to Idaho when she missed her chance to get the Los Angeles Foo Foo clinic. Unhappy with this middle of nowhere place she sets he

I could have spend the day with a bad boy, or a duke, or even demons, but I choose a sweet guy who love animals instead. I had a great time ;p I choose to reread this book because Jill Shalvis is always a sure value and it's always a pleasure to see again Peanut, the parrot with the potty mouth, Gertie the quiet St-Bernard and yeah, let's not forget the sexy Connelly brothers ;p

The fifth addition to Jill Shalvis' Animal Magnetism series. Emily Stevens is out of Veterinarian School and working as an intern in Sunshine, Idaho. She wanted Los Angeles to be closer to her father but she didn't get it. So now she is counting the days until her year of internship is over so she can hit the road for LA. She didn't count on Wyatt Stone, her one night stand from a conference in Reno just three months ago. Wyatt is another veterinarian and now her supervisor. She doesn't want or ...more

LOVED this one! Smart move, Jill Shalvis, really smart move. How am I suppose to resist hot badass alpha males rescuing animals?

And this was so much fun... The food brigade, lol!

Hope this is not the last one in the series!

Wyatt. The end.

Oh, boy. I loved this book! I only discovered the wonder that is Jill Shalvis a few weeks ago, because I have apparently been living under a big stupid rock or something. I read Simply Irresistible and fell in love! I knew I'd found something special, and apparently thousands of other people had found her first!

So as soon as I saw Then Came You on NetGalley I requested that puppy as fast as my finger would click! When I got the e-mail saying I'd been approved, I actually shouted "

Look out Lucky Harbor, this series is coming to take your belt for the contemporary romance series champion. Emily is a newly graduated veterinarian, who has been granted an internship in Sunshine, Idaho. She likes things planned out and is counting the days until she can go back to L.A. She let herself lose control once at a veterinarian conference and had a one night stand with a hot guy. I'll give you three guesses as to what happens next and the first two don't count.

An amazingly awesome book. I loved, loved, loved it. One of Jill's sexiest, imo, and so funny, but with a lot of emotion, too. She surprised me a few times, made me growl and laugh and smile. :-) Good stuff! Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance.
Katie McGarry is my favorite YA author.
And Jill Shalvis is my fave contemporary romance author.

It's so wonderful to read books I love!

This was one of those books that could have been elevated to the next level with a bit more fleshing out of the characters (specifically the heroine). This series is one of my favorites from Shalvis but I found myself more interested in the scenes where we got to revisit Dell and Jade. Shalvis's continuing use of the term "beat" instead of "moment" "second" or "instant" is a bit jarring. Everything is "as hell" (sexy as hell, cute as hell). Others have mentioned cookie-cutter, and I worry that w ...more

No surprises here you guys – if you’re a fan of Jill Shalvis then you’re going to want to read this book.

Shalvis consistently writes romance that isn’t too angsty or heavy and has the perfect amount of sweet and sexy... and Then Came You fits perfectly. While I’m a diehard fan of her Lucky Harbor series, her Animal Magnetism series is a close second on my list. In book 4, we meet Emily. She’s on her way to Idaho for her veterinary internship and Sunshine, Idaho is most definitely nothing like th

Dear Mrs. Shalvis. You pierce my soul. I'm half agony, half hope. How can you constantly write novels like this one? Is it possible that you will continue to write like this?

Please, no matter what you do, stay true to your funny, hilarious, sweet, entertaining writing style.

One thing you can always count on in a Jill Shalvis novel, lots of love and caring: that's just for the animals. This trip to Sunshine, Idaho we meet the new intern who will be at Belle Haven Animal Center for the next year. Her name is Emily Stevens, she's from Los Angeles and was really hoping to do her internship in Beverly Hills. Didn't happen. Karma can be a bitch sometimes. Emily has a notebook dedicated to "The Plan" which is actually her life laid out on paper. Three hundred and sixty fo ...more

"In the meantime, who's concentrating on you? Say you need something. A spider removal, someone to hold you after a bad dream, help you with your car. Or maybe just some company, seeing as you're new in town ... If you were mine, I'd want to do those things for you. Just for future reference."

Such a sweet addition to the Animal Magnetism series! Her books are always funny, and perfect to end a reading slump. As pretty much always with Jill Shalvis, I absolutely LOVED the hero. Let's face it, who

When Emily Stevens arrives at the Belle Haven clinic in Sunshine, Idaho, she is interested in one thing only - finishing her year-long veterinary internship and moving back to Los Angeles. Little does she know that the best laid plans are often sent awry when she meets her new supervisor, Wyatt Stone - the one-night stand she never thought to see again...

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

If there’s a Jill Shalvis book I can read early, you can bet I won’t miss it. She is an author I can return to again and again, knowing that she’ll put a smile on my face and give me all the warm fuzzies. Her romances are always what I’m looking for and need: heartwarming, funny, endearing, and sexy. There is nothing quite like a guaranteed happy ending, and Jill Shalvis writes some of the b

Emily has her entire life mapped out, finish her Veterinary intern ship and get a well paying job in LA so she can take care of her father and sister. What a cute story! I enjoy most anything this author writes, but I don't get to read as many of her novels as I would like with my review schedule. However, I'm hoping to feature the author on my blog in the near future, so I used that as an excuse to check out some titles I have missed. This is Wyatt and Emily's story. Emily is an intern who finds out that the vet at the clinic she's interning at is her first one night stand she was hoping to never see again. Turns out, though he doesn't fit in her grand plan for her life, he is exactly what she needs.

While this was not my favorite in the series so far, Jill Shalvis constantly comes through with just the right amount of yummy, funny and heart to ensure you will enjoy the ride. Emily and Wyatt had a lot of heat, considering Emi

Things get a little awkward when Veterinary intern, Emily winds up in the small town of Sunshine, Idaho and has to work under the sexy man she once had a one night stand with. I just have to say that I am SO in love with Jill Shalvis and her books.

Then Came You is book 5 in her Animal Magnetism series and I am so in love with Wyatt.
Who doesn’t love a hottie in glasses that is good with animals and even better with people. That is until it comes to the people he wants in his life. Wyatt’s biggest weakness is his fear of not letting people have their own choices when in reality telling so

I enjoy Jill Shalvis' Lucky Harbor so much but I never really try her others. Well, I tried the first book in THIS series and didn't like it much. However, I was still in the contemporary romance mood, and I thought why not pick up a latest one, hopefully it was better from the first book.

Well, on one hand, I adored the animal scenes. I swear, Ms. Shalvis writes great animals scene. With Emily and Wyatt both working at Belle Haven, dealing with animals, there were plenty of them to make

Finished this book at 4:00 this morning. What's better than sleep? A Jill Shalvis book! I loved this story (not that I don't love all of her books). I loved the reality of the relationship that neither Wyatt or Emily would say what they really wanted out of the relationship either out of fear or assuming what the other one wanted. I loved that Ms. Shalvis didn't make the sisters on either side so sugary sweet. They were real and ornery and outspoken. I did shed some tears and I did laugh out lou ...more

I really didn't think I'd ever do the Trifecta Books (sounds, cover and title must all …be cute/sexy /etc) challenge. I mean it would really have to be those three things at the same time for me to do it and it's very subjective. So I just went along and did whatever challenges that worked for me when it finally happened, the trifecta book!

I know...I was shocked too!

Julie: Then Came You is the fifth book in Jill Shalvis’ Animal Magnetism series. I am a late comer to this series, having started with the last book, Rumor Has It. Anne loved that book so much I knew I just had to read it. And after reading it I can see why it enchanted her the way it did. I may not have adored it as much as she did but it did draw me in enough to want to continue with the series and to one day go back and read from it the beginning. In

Well I love the Animal Magnetism books, but this one was a little painful for me. 😉

I don’t mind back and forth to a degree, but Emily takes the cake. I get the whole “I’ve got a plan” thing...yet when you have feelings for someone at some point you need to own it.

Wyatt was perfection.

Emily and Wyatt have fantastic chemistry and I did love them together.

If the denial was a smaller portion of the book this one would have been a much more enjoyable read.

Overall I do enjoy this series and typica
