I remember my father used lots of recipes from this book :-) And when I was a child, cooking books (including this one) were the ones I practiced my reading.
My family has been loving me since I started looking and tasting the food from the receipes from this book. i tend to try different approaches but the basics are wonderful. I cook every night with vegetables I grew in my two gardens in my back yard. Even my son gets busy with this. Everyone should check out this book.
This book was give to my sister over 10 years ago. I was just a kid and I loved to look at the pictures and day dream about baking the cakes.
Flash forward many years later and I stumble across this book at my mum's house. I am delighted and now that I am a keen baker the recipes are just calling my name.
Each section is wonderful constructed. I especially like the cakes and biscuits. The recipes are easy to understand and the step by step instructions are great.
I've had this for a long time, but never thought to look it up on goodreads. This is a great cookbook. My favorite cookie recipe is in here, the double dipped chocolate peanut butter cookies. And the book itself is fun. The front and back cover is squishy and the edge of the pages are a shiny gold color. It's gorgeous.
