When building a house, you start with a plan and the foundation. When starting with a foundation, you begin with a firm understanding of the ground you are dealing with. Analogically this is not far from building a life on the foundation of God's word, and there are tremendous riches that await the one that invests the time to dig into the ground of language and translation to gain insight and understanding. "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away." Says Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, as quoted in the book of St Matthew chapter 24, vs 35.

For the 21st century adults that believes these words of Jesus, I find an understanding of the koine Greek to be indispensable, even required.

To the ones that don't believe, there is indisputable value in understanding Hellenistic culture, as a forerunner to understanding many modern cultures today.

Disciples ultimately are translators of the one they follow. This book is an indispensable tool to enable aspiring translators and students.

Grace and peace be yours.

Just received today, from Germany, 1 1/2 weeks earlier than expected. Paper is high quality and font is easy on the eyes. The glossary of words that occur less than 30 times in the Greek New Testament is helpful. I am okay that this does not include the critical apparatus, as I will be using this simply for daily reading and basic word studies, with use of Greek Kit app. Excellent!
