Holly is the daughter of a mob boss that made the wrong men his enemies. Now Holly needs protection and the head of security Jack is just the right man for it. After being attacked both of them need to flee and Jack has to keep Holly safe. Jack and Holly had a crush on each other since day one and now they are on the run and sparks fly. Instalove, forbidden romance, forced proximity, age gap(12 years) , sweet, steamy, romantic , with action and safe with a sweet HEA 😍😍

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.
Jack and Holly met when he comes to work for her father who is a mafia boss. Holly's father controls everything she does, she wants to go away to college but she knows her father won't let her. Holly has to be escorted everywhere, her father makes all of her appointments and has his men shuffle her around. Holly can't be late for breakfast otherwise there will be consequences. So Holly hurries downstairs for breakfast when she arrives she finds out that she is being assigned Jack as her bodyguard. Holly noticed Jack when he first came to work for her father and talked to him briefly. Jack escorts Holly back to her room where she gets ready for her doctor's appointment her father made for her. Jack sits and waits for Holly in the waiting room when she's done he escorts her back to the car to take her home. On their way home Jack notices a car following them so he tries to escape them, but can't. Soon bullets are flying and Jack tells Holly to get down, when they get close to her home they see smoke coming. Holly wants to call the authorities but Jack tells her the guards would have called it in by now his priorities is her. Jack heads out of town, not sure what to do, he heads to his secluded cabin on the mountain. Soon Jack is being followed again, he tries to outrun them but then bullets start to fly. The car then breaks down and Jack and Holly are forced to walk the rest of the way at night. Jack is able to take the men out who come after them and then they arrive at his cabin. Jack knows they can't stay at the cabin long, even though it won't be noticed they are there. Holly washes up and changes into Jack's clothes. Jack is on high alert all night long, Holly thanks Jack for helping her and not letting her be taken. Jack kisses Holly then he pleasures her then they make love. The next day Jack wakes up he has a motorbike stored, he makes sure it is running. Jack knows they can't stay at his cabin so he makes a phone call to one of his Navy SEAL teammates, who is able to help. Jack and Holly get ready to head to the safe house his Navy SEAL friend has set up for him. Before they are able to leave two men come with guns pointed at them. Jack stands in front of Holly, but when the one man threatens to take Holly Jack pulls the trigger. One man goes down but the other gets a shot off before Jack can, the other man goes down, but Holly gets shot in the leg above the knee. Jack tends to Holly's wound making sure she's alright, then they head out, it'll take them a few house to get to the safe house. When they arrive at the safe house, Jack's first priority is making sure that Holly is alright. Jack addresses Holly's wound then secures the grounds. Holly is asleep when Jack comes back inside, then he gets a fire going. Jack sits with Holly and falls asleep himself, he knows he has to be on high alert. Holly asks Jack if they are safe, and he tells her the only one that knows is his friend. Jack tells Holly they need to call her father and see what his plan is but she doesn't want to, he left her behind. Jack makes Holly rest, then after a few days they call Holly's father, who tells her that he knew she would be protected with Jack that's why he assigned him to her. Holly's father tells her that he's seen the way they looked at one another, and made sure his daughter was protected. Holly's father tells her he'll stop the men from coming after her one way or another, but she will never seen him, her mother or brother again. Holly's father tells her he wants a better life for her and he knows she can have it with Jack. When Holly finished talking with her father she breaks down, she will never see her family again. Jack tells Holly he will try to keep her updated on what he finds out about her family. The following day Holly is tired of just sitting around, Jack won't make love to her until her wound is healed. So Holly finds a casserole in the freezer and follows the directions to make supper for her and Jack. While she has some time Holly seduces Jack, he pleasures her she pleasures him and they make love. When the timer goes off Holly tells Jack that supper is ready and he tells her he'll enjoy anything she's makes. Jack tells Holly he loves her and she'll be his wife one day. Holly tells him she loves him but doesn't he think he should asks her first, but Jack tells her he doesn't want to give her a chance to say no to him. Holly wishes him a Merry Christmas, and Jack wishes her a Merry Christmas. Holly tells Jack she's thankful of her father, because he chose Jack to be her protector, she's a different person, a better person when she's with Jack. Jack tells Holly that if her father would have chosen someone else to protect her he would be out there looking for her and wouldn't rest until he found her. Jack tells her he doesn't deserve her, but he's keeping her, Holly saved him. Holly tells Jack they saved each other. One year later, Christmas Eve after they fled the mountings Jack's SEAL buddy was able to help them disappear and start over. They moved to a small coastal town where no one knows who they are, they have fake identities and Jack has a remote job working security. Over the past year Holly feared this peace wouldn't last that her father's influence would stretch far, but her father disappeared from her life, leaving Jack and her to find happiness. Things began to change the network of people started to crumble around her father, there were arrests and deals made. Holly's father made a deal with the authorities to protect his family like he said he would giving up his last shreds of his empire in exchange for his families safety. Jack assures Holly that her mother and brother are safe, but she lost her connection to them. Holly tells Jack she's pregnant and he tells her she has no idea how happy she's made him. Their family is just beginning and Jack's going to spend his whole life making Holly feel safe and loved.

Violets installment to the Alpha Mountain series is mafia light, age gap, instalove romance. We follow Holly and Jack in this offering with a hint of off limits trope. Jack is placed as Holly's bodyguard (not that he sees it as a chore, more a test of his restraint) after her father is getting in deeper with unsavoury people.
An outward attack on Holly when she's out, puts her and Jack in a forced close proximity situation as they need to hide out. With a threat still over Holly's head, and another attack leading to Holly being injured Jack's alpha possessive side comes out more and they finally begin to give in to their feelings.
If you enjoy age gap, mafia ties romance, dual pov writing, curvy female lead, virgin female lead, steamy scenes, pure love, instalove, short read, standalone within a series, and HEAs Violet has the story for you.

I'm giving this 3.5 stars, but rounding up. The reason for a reduced rating comes from the couple of scenes where genitals are discussed in the third person and nicknamed. It was rather cringe worthy.
Otherwise, the story was the perfect blend of suspense and romance and giving into a love that's slowly simmered for a couple of years, knowing it was untouchable. I thought there'd be a showdown with the dad, especially after Jack takes Holly's v card, but thankfully that was avoided, keeping any unneeded drama out of the story. There was plenty of drama with the suspenseful car chases, bullets flying and being secluded in the mountains.

This story left quite an impression on me. I could clearly feel the love and contentment between our main characters. Their lives may not be perfect, but they are happy.
Her father initially left a poor impression, but his actions in the end redeemed him in my eyes.
I had many questions at the beginning of the story, and even more as I continued reading. The ending might not be what the characters would have wanted, but they’ve persevered and are now living the life they desire. That is enough, as long as they are happy.

When Holly's mafia boss father's business puts the entire family in danger, ex-Navy Seal Jack is quickly re-assigned to be her bodyguard - and no sooner are the two running for their lives. Escaping to the mountains to hide, the forbidden yet mutual attraction between the two complete opposites explodes. A highly entertaining, forced proximity age-gap romance that is an absolute must read.

Holly's father is a Mob boss and he has enemies so Jack is assigned to be Holly's bodyguard. I loved how protective Jack was over Holly because he took protecting her personally and before they realized it sparks were flying. This is a well written, suspenseful romance with well developed characters, danger, family drama, steam, and a happily ever after. The epilogue was the cherry on top. Snowed in With the Bodyguard is book two and a great addition to the multi-author Alpha Mountain series. I look forward to reading the rest of this series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This wound up being more intense than expected...
But not in a bad way.
Who doesn't love an alpha male who safeguards and protects as well as Jack does? And who doesn't admire a young woman with a core of steel?
Sure she's scared and on the run, but she mustered the strength she needed and manages to keep going. This story is filled with danger and mystery, and a dose of heartache. But very much worth the read.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Holly and Jack were attracted to each other for awhile. The one good thing her father did when his empire fell is make sure they were together. While on the run, Holly and Jack finally acted on their feelings and admitted their love. I'm glad they were able to create a new safe life together.

The connection and chemistry between these two was believable and enabled them to stand strong during some tough times. I liked that they both held hope that they could escape and be together, that they reached for each other and that their love made them fight with all they had.

A quick, angsty novella that you will want to finish in one sitting. I liked Holly and Jack's story. It has some very interesting tropes that make it entertaining. They pined for each other for years and finally admitted their feelings while on the run. It's good.

Protected by the Bodyguard
Suspenseful and exciting, this story was a nice mixture of danger and romance. Holly, daughter of a mafia don and Jack, her bodyguard are on the run from her father's enemies. What ignites between them is forbidden and intense but worth fighting for. It was a fun story to read.

Holly and Jack, their story has angst galore. Her father, wow, he is the cause of most of the drama and after Jack becomes Holly’s bodyguard and they escape (or so they think) things heat up. Both Holly and Jack are oh so likeable and yes there is a HEA.

Holly and Jack really make this romance book really amazing and suspenseful. Once you begin reading there's no stopping and you will be addicted and desperately craving more from the characters. This is simply put one AWESOME book.

The author has given us a fast-paced older man/younger woman story that pulls us into the lives of Jack and Holly. The story keeps us turning the pages with forbidden desires, connection, secrets, danger and steam.

Every story in this series is good. Holly and Jack are running away from those who want to hurt them. Jack will do everything possible to keep Holly safe, but in the process, being together, feelings will become present but they have to survive to be together.

Loved it
I love this series because each couple has a different road to their happily ever afters. Each romance is unique in its own way and is a beautiful all the feels everything and more journey with a heartmelting storyline that was out of this world amazing.

Jack and Holly are too adorable!!!! I love the fact that he was her protector and the book was very well written and the ending made me sad but reading the bonus scene made me extremely happy!!!! No spoilers coming from me!!!!
