I guess you could say I was more than excited when I got a PM from Penny Reid. She asked me if I would be interested in receiving an ARC for her story Double Dare that was one of the 13 stories of the Halloween Anthology “Shiver” that will be released on October 13.

Even before reading more of her message my answer was YES but I started to do my happy dance when she explained that Double Dare is the beginning of Duane Winston’s book. WOOHOO!!

Have you read Beauty and The Mustache? If you have wel

4 Double Dare Stars!

This review is for Penny Reid's DOUBLE DARE and not for the whole book, Shiver. Will add some more review as soon as I read the whole thing.

Jessica has been in love with Beau Winston since she was 13 years old. He's sweet, kind, and so unlike his identical twin brother Duane who did nothing but torment her her whole life. Now years later, Jess is back in her home town, and she finally found herself getting hot and heavy with the star of her teen fantasy, Beau. Only it wasn

13 SEXY TALES OF HUMOR AND HORROR! 100% of proceeds go to St. Jude' s. Only available until the end of November, so get it while you can!

DOUBLE DARE by Penny Reid is included in this anthology and was generously gifted to me in exchange for a review

My 5-star rating is based on Double Dare, it is the only one of the 13 tales I have read as of yet.

For those of you who have not yet read Beauty and the Mustache (Knitting in the City, #4) by Penny Reid, Penny Reid introduced us to six beautiful and wonderful bearded men, the Winston Brothers. Since then fangi
First off, when I saw that 100% of the proceeds from the sales of this collection of short stories went to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, I immediately pre-ordered. Then, when I saw the list of authors participating, I got excited! I'm not quite sure how to do reviews for this as there are many stories, so I will try to keep my reviews short, and update as I read each selection.

Recommends it for: fans of funny, sexy, paranormal romance couples

5 Stars!

Loved these short stories from most of my favorite authors!

The stories were funny, sexy, and had just the right amount of paranormal romance which is perfect for Halloween.

Highly recommend this book!

This is a great anthology full of 4 to 5 Star reads. Great stories and supporting a great cause. Now I'd only read books from two of these authors previously, so I was quite excited about reading more from them. I wasn't sure how things would go with the new-to-me authors, but I was pleased with how much I enjoyed their stories, and look forward to reading more from them in the future. Here are my individual reviews:

Nightmare in Night Court by N.M. Silber review...

I fell in love with N.M. Silber characters because of their courtroom caseload. OMG, I found myself laughing at the oddest things that many will think I am crazy for. Only Braden and Gabi can deliver on quirky funny with a hint of WTH....

The Peterman case was down right my favorite. Poor Mr. Peterman died an unsatisfied man. It was funny how the defendant proved his case of not being a homosexual, yeah I caught that. I laughed too hard because on

Bewitched by Daisy Prescott, what can I say, she always amazes me with her words. Excellent for her first step in NA and Paranormal at that! I really hope to read more about these two

Not all anthologies are created equal. Some are composed by the same author, some by several, all to give us the readers and fans more of our favorite characters and series. But few are made to not just provide with hours of wonderful reading and also help others. All proceeds from this anthology composed of thirteen sassy, sexy tales of humor and horror goes to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

And although I know a lot of these wonderful authors like R.S. Grey, C.C. Wood and Belle Aurora, I went

So far I've had the pleasure of reading "Peckers" by Liv Morris -

This story was absolutely adorable, and perfectly written for it's word limit of 10-15k.
It had a great plot line and awesome characters to go along with it.

Patricia a.k.a. Trish goes back home to live in her aunts estate after she passed away, but to inherit the place, there are certain circumstances she has to fulfill first. Like leaving her life she built in N.Y.C. behind to live in her aunts old home for a complete year, bumme

This is a review of Mystery, Matzo Balls, and Moxie by Z.B. Heller. The author kindly provided me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Chronicles of Moxie was one of my books that I've read this year. It's refreshing to find a romantic comedy that's actually hilarious. Mystery, Matzo Balls, and Moxie lived up to my expectations as well.

From the very first page, Moxie had me laughing at her smartass sense of humor. It made me realize how much I missed these characters. I definitely ne

The Bottom Line

This is a anthology with all proceeds going to charity. I didn't read them all but the ones I did were well done and fun, such as:

Better The Devil You Know by Belle Aurora (3 stars)

I like Ms. Aurora’s writing, and this was a cute little romance that wrapped up abruptly.

Lights Out by Jodie Beau (5 stars)

Loved it, very pleased with the character development in such a short story. History, chemistry, humor conveyed well to the read, all combined with tight pacing. I am eager to read

I've had the pleasure of reading "Mystery, Matzo Balls and Moxie" by Z.B. Heller. Another Moxie winner! Funny, witty, bawdy, and fast-paced. Not only do I love Moxie, and well, her moxie, but all of her friends are pretty amazing too. Miles, Renee, Raj and Ryan are all people I'd love to have in my life too.

In this Moxie adventure, Moxie finds herself going against her will to a murder mystery weekend in Wisconsin. The cast of characters at this crazy weekend are hillarious!

So far, I've only read Bewitched by Daisy Prescott but I know I will enjoy the rest of the stories from the other great authors as well. Bewitched centers around Madison Bradbury who is currently attending college in Salem Massachusetts. Madison's love life is currently in a slump but her best friend and roommate Sam, who thinks she is a witch, is on a mission to correct that. The banter between the two is interesting and entertaining. Will Madison find love in Salem? Will the story continue? Yo ...more

I received an ARC copy of Nightmare in Night Court by N.M. Silber which is one of the stories in this collection for an honest review.

I absolutely loved Nightmare in Night Court. N.M. Silber's humor will have you laughing throughout the story. Loved reading more about Braden and Gabrielle (who are from N.M. Silber's The Lawyers in Love series).

Nightmare in Night Court is NM Silber’s novella contribution to the Shiver anthology, which also includes short stories by authors Daisy Prescott, Belle Aurora, Z.B. Heller, Ruth Clampett, Jennie Marts, L.H. Cosway, R.S. Grey, Liv Morris, C.C. Wood, Penny Reid, Ashley Pullo and Jodie Beau. As comedy lineups go, this is quite an impressive list.

I was so excited to hear that these 13 amazing and funny authors had teamed up to release a Halloween anthology, but even more impressed when I found out

OMG! I LOVED LOVED LOVED these stories! While I love adult romantic fiction so much my first love and what I always go to will always be romantic comedy! I have always said that writing a good love story is hard but writing good comedy is near impossible so this collection was quite a gem for me to get to read.

There was not a single story in this anthology that I didn't like and I loved reconnecting with some of my favorite autirs and discovering some new ones as well. While all of these stories

I love stories that get me into the holiday spirit, and what better way to get ready for Halloween than to read some spooky short stories by some terrific writers! So far, I have only read BEWITCHED by one of my personal favorite authors, DAISY PRESCOTT! Bewitched takes us to a college in Salem Massachusetts during the Halloween season! It is there we meet Madison and her friend/roommate Sam. Sam is very curious about Wiccan traditions and knows about witchcraft. Sam sees some witch like traits ...more

If you haven't met Chris Brooks yet, what are you waiting for?
The Texan is now living in New York and working at a law firm. On Halloween, he is introduced to the sexy and mysterious Lena White. Looking for a good time, he agrees to go to a party with her that evening. What follows is totally unexpected and absolutely hilarious. In Red Rum, we get to see Chris's sweet side as well as his playful side. This story ha

OMG I love it already. I have only read "Bewitched" by Daisy Prescott so far as I was lucky enough to receive an Arc. I really like these characters a lot. Andrew is mysterious and brooding. Madison is sassy and sarcastic. Salem is the perfect setting for this story. I can not wait to read the rest of the stories in this book, I know they will be equally as good. You can't go wrong either as 100% of the proceeds go to charity. Great writing and a great cause.

So far I've only read Nightmare in Night Court by N.M. Silber, and let me just say that lady is brilliant! I adore Braden and Gabrielle, they are just the cutest couple. So this book takes place in the court room on Halloween night, when all the crazies run amok and boy do they! There is a little mystery, a little evening delight, and a whole lot of funny!!

I was fortunate enough to read ARCs of Daisy Prescott's Bewitched and N.M. Silber's Nightmare in Night Court.

Both of these short stories are wonderfully delightful. First off, in Prescott's Bewitched, we have college students Andrew and Madison. It's coming on Fall in Salem, Massachusetts and you know what that means.....

Madison and Andrew have a class together, and as Madison begins to notice Andrew he is definitely noticing her. Throw in a freshman year faux pas that won't go away, a roommate

Red Rum is a Hilarious, Fast-paced, Lovable Tale! Five Stars!

I had the privilege of reading an preview of Daisy Prescott's "Bewitched" (one of the stories included in Shiver), and I have to was SPOT ON as far as the bits related to Wicca, and a story that made me giggle with delight. There's mystery, palatable tension between characters where needed, and just all-around awesomeness. (Oh, and check out the girl who set her drapes on fire - I hear she has a pretty awesome name!)

So far I've read Bewitched by Daisy Prescott as she was so generous to send me an early copy. I loved this tale and hope this we see more of Madison and Andrew in the future. I love how Daisy brought in elements of Salem, historical American writers, college first love, and friendship. The tale made the English Lit major in me smile. You can't go wrong by spending some time with the story.
I'm looking forward to the rest of the anthology!
