For fans of Blood Lad comes an all-new series about vampires and their strange servants

Servamp is an all-new action comedy manga series that focuses on a power struggle between vampires. The dynamic art style and action-packed storyline will appeal to fans of similar shonen series like Blood Lad and Durarara!!.

Servamp is an ongoing manga series that features delightful artwork, including color inserts, in each volume.

When a stray black cat named Kuro crosses Mahiru Shirota’s path, the high school freshman’s life will never be the same again. Kuro is, in fact, no ordinary feline, but a servamp: a servant vampire. While Mahiru’s personal philosophy is one of non-intervention, he soon becomes embroiled in an ancient, altogether surreal conflict between vampires and humans.

OKAY. This just threw volume 1 OUT OF THE WINDOW. How does one improve so much?! Holy crap I cried like a baby during those few pages (which I can't say since.. well, spoilers ahem)

Character development is definitely moving forward, I realize I really have a thing for characters who acknowledges that they are weak and they want to do something about it, unlike those who stay weak and depend on others to save them. There's a whole cast of diverse characters and none of them feels flat at all, they are all very complex characters with their own set of strengths and weaknesses. This is incredibly important to me, since usually when it comes to manga there's a whole bunch of Mary Sues.

I have high hopes for the rest of the volumes, never thought I'll be this addicted to reading manga again. What an emotional roller-coaster ride!!

Not that bad, but the dialogue is pretty horrendous in some parts, the images can be difficult to follow, along with a lot of randomly placed text boxes, and this volume was a lot less funny than the first. I still recommend the anime more than the manga, from what I've seen.

Rip Sakuya you would LOVE Dear Evan Hansen

Also why did they hide Mikuni so much from us in the anime like this bitch turns out to have his paws on every front, why was he only shown like twice?

Figured it out! This series actually requires more thought and attention to details. I felt like a couple of scenes were cut a little short and some points I was like um? But I'm still loving the cast of characters!

Mahiru and Kuro are tangled in a war that Tsu has set in motion. Mahiru went from simple life to complicated in a matter of naming a stray. Good news is Mahiru has some new friends to help him get through things. I mean he has no idea what a servamp is or how to begin being a master of one. Not to mention he's got a new weapon that he can command, and its a broom. Tehe I love it!

So from the last volume it ended with a mild cliffhanger. The best friend that Mahiru thought he knew, is actually one of Tsu's minions. Sakuya, known as The Liar, was a victim to an accident and Tsu just happened to be around. He took Sakuya "in" and ever since he's worked for Tsu.

Because Mahiru's lied to him about Kuro and who the stray cat actually was, Sakuya's a little ticked off. He hates being lied to and he fully believes Mahiru lied to him.

A fight breaks out, because of course, and Misono and Lily show up to help Mahiru. In the fight we discover that Misono's chair is actually his weapon. A deadly one at that. Something happens causing Kuro to do a solo act, we kind of get a glimpse of why he's considered the strongest. But don't get too excited it's merely a sliver of what Kuro is.

In jumps in two new characters, Doubt Doubt the servamp of envy and his master Arisuin. The due helped Mahiru out and Kuro, but these two are a little different. I mean the whole cast is crazy, but that's what makes for good reading.

Moves have been made from both sides in this war and it's just started.

I love how the author did do a turn a bout with things and it seems easier to understand and read. Still have to reread some scenes but it just makes it more interesting. I think I may focus on the artwork a little more than the words so my brain has to stop and reread the words. Catching the details.

I love how this isn't your regular vampire thing. Kuro in fact doesn't even want to drink blood! He's just a lazy guy who wants to take it easy. I do enjoy the comedy he brings to the story.

I'm going to continue reading! There's some flashes of skin but nothing real major, some language, and some blood scenes. Again nothings really like oh my gosh, that's gross. I can't wait to read the next book! I wanna know more and see how Kuro and Mahiru handle each other.

I love this series so much! It’s dark but funny, the characters are interesting, the concept is odd in a good way, and the art style is young school life plus modern Alice in Wonderland meets vampires.

Kuro is my favorite character, but I love Sakuya too! Both of their backstories are shrouded in mystery and their personalities are so different. Then there’s Mahiru’s special power! The way the broom is used feels so natural to the story. It’s cool how so much of the story so far is out there yet it all works.

I definitely don’t need to wait so long to get and read the next volume! (Might need to go rewatch the anime too!)

Mahiru finds out more about his friend's background that makes him view Sakuya in a different light.

This is almost four stars - an improvement on the first volume for me. Volume one threw a ton of stuff at you, this book starts to flesh out the characters so you begin to care about them. There are still issues - I can't tell what's going on sometimes in art or textboxes, I still don't know the name of every character - so it's tough to fully follow the story. I'm intrigued, though, so I'll look into volume three.

The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I was having a hard time following who was saying what while reading the first half of the volume. Some of the speech bubbles were placed in a way that was hard to tell who they belonged to. Not to mention that a couple of pages had a weird formatting for Mahiru's inner dialogue. It was too crowded and messy. The only reason I knew that that's what was going on, is because I've already seen the anime.

It's getting better!

While I still don't really have an idea what's going on (What are you up to, Tsubaki??),
I really liked that we got to know more characters.
Especially Sakuyas backgroundstory was really interesting (and sad),
but I was really confused about what happened in the first fight.
What was this cat-thingy?

Anyway, I hope this story will keep going strong.
I adore its drawing style.

Some of the dialog is hard to follow, that is, there's loose speech bubbles that could belong to anyone in the scene, and bubbles with phrases that don't seem like they should belong to anyone in the scene. But the story is interesting and if you've only seen the anime, there's so much more going on here. I'm ready for volume 3 and not sure how I'm going to find it since nowhere seems have it in stock in English. . . may have to settle for a German copy.

I feel as if the manga moves a bit too fast for my taste, and this is definitely the case here. It feels like everything is happening at once, and I'm not such a fan of it. I like a good steady flow of exposition and story, and it more feels like a shove. However, I think my younger self would have loved this manga.

This one was ok, but not as good as the first one.

The first one was hilarious, while this one was just funny.

This one was so much more confusing. Like I’m sorry why are we treating Sakuya’s and Mahiru’s actions this way? Mahiru lied to literally protect Sakuya, but Sakuya decided to take that info AND TRY TO KILL MAHIRU FOR IT. What?

Then Tsubaki. Is he the villain or not?

I think this one showed their lack of communication because both Kuro and Miharu both thought the opposite of what the other thought. Like Kuro thinks that Miharu regrets him while Miharu thinks he would never regret Kuro. I think their relationship is going to be important for their abilities to grow but they need to hop over some boundaries.

I've actually read most of these, not all but i'm still reading so, oh well, this one especially is good, I've already watched all 12 episodes so I already know some of the events that go down in the manga, Tsubaki is my favorite out of all of them haha.

Un tome 2 qui poursuit dans la lancée du premier... mais en mieux. Tout le passage avec Sakuya est génial.

Not quite as good as the first volume but the main boys are interesting characters and I'm curious enough to continue their story.
