The handsome Angel from Lailah gets center stage in this continuation of Wattpad sensation Nikki Kelly’s romantic and action-packed series about mortals, vampires, and angels.

Gabriel is an Angel Descendant. He's also an ally to a generation of vampires who want to break away from the demon who controls them. His faith in the power of good over evil wavers, however, when he

*I received an arc of this book from Netgalley*

This book is mind blowing, heart stopping, and absolutely thrilling! It's no secret that the first book, Lailah quickly became a favorite for me and this book has been added to the list. Things that happened in this book were so unexpected and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough.

When the book begins Lailah awakens and she has to adjust to same changes within herself. She has to figure out if she wants to truly embrace both sides of herself, the li

Lailah is back with Gabriel and even though she remembers everything that has happened with him, she doesn't remember a thing about Jonah. Does she truly belong with one or the other? Does she realize how important her growing powers are against this angel and vampire war?

I have to had it to Nikki Kelly because she sure knows to write love triangles well. I got to know more about the self-titled Angel Gabr

Nikki Kelly comes out swinging with her sophomore book, Gabriel. After the events that left off in Lailah, our girl is now both light and dark in one. She is desperately trying to come to grips with both sides of herself. She know her heart belongs to Gabriel so why can't she turn away from that dark brooding vampire, Jonah? One of the rare examples of love triangles that actually work, it is interesting to see Lailah discover herself....again and what she feels she wants as well. This review was ...more

No matter how YOU picture a story going, leave it to Nikki Kelly to steer you off in another direction and completely reset that hook once again. Gabriel is back, Lailah is back and the turmoil between them is in turns, heart wrenching, maddening and completely unexpected. Why is their love so difficult?

Caught between her own inner light and dark sides, Lailah finds her heart is likewise split. As her memory returns, the brooding vampire Jonah looms large like a niggling thought that just isn’t

Gabriel is the exciting second book in the Styclar Saga, the follow-up to Lailah. As the title of this one suggests, it expands on Gabriel’s character – the angel who is the other half of Lailah’s light – her soul mate, if you will. The book is still told through Lailah’s POV, as she discovers that the people (and angels and vampires) around her are willing to sacrifice everything for her – she just isn’t sure that her

Ahhhh....Gabriel....Seriously...I have been obsessed with this series since I first opened the pages of Lailah. I loved the whole light and dark struggle and the breath-taking romance between Lailah and Gabriel...So I really couldn't wait to start Gabriel!

Gabriel picks up right where Lailah left off. Lailah is struggling to get her memory back and as pieces begin to come back to her...she begins to realize she has feel

Lailah is badass. There's really no other way you can describe her. She absolutely blew my mind in this book. Maybe not at first but man, by the three quarters mark, she was fierce. This is not someone you want on your bad side; trust me.

I came in to this book absolutely on team Gabriel. I left this book firmly on team Jonah. It's not that I don't like Gabriel because I do but there's just something missing with him, when it comes to

Gabriel was a perfect game changer of a sequel and it does all things that a good sequel ought to do: add a new layer to both our character, see how their relationships change and are challenged and peel away new layers in the world building and the plot, leaving us with a bit of whiplash after some reveals that do turn our world upside down!

I will try by best to keep things as spoiler free for book one as possible but to be safe just run along and read Lailah right now! Done? Well, Gabriel pick

I loved this book just as much as the first! I thought the way the characters developed was very well thought out. I love Lailah and her strong personality of not wanting to do wrong in anyone's eyes. She is one of the best female characters I have ever read! She finally accepts her fate and stops running from on side of herself opposed to the other. This book focused a lot on her inner struggle with herself which goes right along with her struggle to choose a guy, which is better light or dark? ...more

*My Thoughts*

Gabriel is the second installment in author Nikki Kelly's The Styclar Saga. As one would imagine, it took me awhile to get back into this series since it has been a year and a half since I read Lailah. Lots of books have come and gone during that wait. I had to remind myself how the first installment, Lailah, ended, and what one of my major hurdles was in loving the first book. Had to remind myself that Lailah is a character

Immediate Thoughts:

After a rough start for me in the beginning fighting my anger at myself for not re-reading Lailah, the book was great! I struggled in the beginning try to reconnect to the voice and characters but, like I said, partly my fault because I couldn't remember as much as I would have liked from Lailah. Once I got into though, I could NOT put it down. It was definitely a 'just one more chapter before bed' type of books and I stayed up way too later reading! Loved the character develo

This series has me hooked. I told a friend that I had swapped sides in the middle of the book and become Team Jonah! I'm sorry; I have a weakness for Vampires. Lailah is your normal save everyone despite herself protagonist. The story took an odd turn but a fairly predictable. I thought it weird for the author to introduce a family of vampire hunters into the middle of her story, but then realized where we were about to go. Book 3 is going to take us to the third dimension, aka the UNDERWORLD. I ...more

'Gabriel' is the captivating second book in a young adult paranormal series that continues to leave fans of the genre begging for more. It continues to follow Lailah - our main character - as she comes back to life yet again. Only this time, she knows her true nature and has accepted it, which allows her to retain the majority of her memories from the past few years, including the truth behind her connection with Gabriel and the dual nature of her being. Along with the truth and memories, Lailah ...more

Let me just say that I am a member of the Styclar Street Team, and I'm also a good friend of Nikki Kelly herself. So when she said that I was getting an ARC of Gabriel, I was practically over the moon. I loved Lailah, and I was Team Gabriel from the start. So long story short, I was super excited. And as soon as that ARC got into my hands, I dove right into it.

The book takes you back to all of the characters that you loved from Lailah. You get to see Gabriel, Jonah, Brooke, Rudhan, and Lailah (o

This sequel is slightly more interesting than the first book. I gave both 3 stars. I love the mythology, the angel stuff and that made up word of Styclar which is like heaven. This is set in the U.K. or at least I think it is. There were moments in this book where I was excited and moments when I was bored. Maybe because I am so sick of vampire stuff, or because I don’t like British-y books. I love magic and sci-fi stuff and this defiantly had some but it’s not as compelling as other paranormal ...more

(This review may contain spoilers).

I liked being able to read the sequel to Lailah. I found myself drawn really easily into this book and it was interesting to see the effects on the characters from the previous book.

While it was interesting to see the fact that Lailah had completely forgotten Jonah, I didn’t really like the info dumping that came in at the beginning of the book. I would have preferred to see the recap done in a bett

Nikki Kelly sure knows how to pull at the heart strings. Gabriel picked up right where we left off with Lailah and reading about how she didn't remember Jonah was heartbreaking. Lailah definitely went through some character development in this book and I really appreciated that. However there were times where I wanted to go inside the book grab her by shoulders and shake some sense into her. It really bothered me that she wouldn't drink blood even though she knew i

I.. What? What the hell just happened?

I struggled with this book pretty much the whole time. It wasn't that the book was terrible.. because it wasn't I just hate Gabriel. I hated that he made Lailah ashamed of a part of herself. And I also hated all the secretive crap he was always doing. I don't understand why he couldn't tell her any of what he did. It never made any sense to me. Liars are not cool. But then Lailah lied to him a lot too I guess. The whole love triangle was just messed up.

Lailah finally chooses to embrace both! At the end of Lailah I was on the fence about who to ship Gabriel or Jonah, but this book seriously set me straight. Jonah has this huge heart, that he tries to deny having, and love Lailah for who she is, not who he thinks he can make her. I understand Gabriel is made in light and that Lailah is supposed to be his other half but he is not accepting. I love that Lailah takes charge of her own fate and does not just choose Gabriel because that is fate. Fina ...more

Book 2 of the Styclar Saga, this one picks up immediately after Lailah ends. She's revived maybe she can finally be with Gabriel, but she's so conflicted over her feelings for him and Jonah. She's also having trouble dealing with the fact that she's angel AND vampire.

Fans of the series will want (need!) this book and book #3 (Jonah, of course), but I found the story convoluted and confusing at times. There are SO many characters! I finally gave up about page 125. From the other reviews, there's
Thanks to NetGalley and Feiwel and Friends for the arc of Gabriel by Nikki Kelly. Gabriel is the second book in the Styclar saga and it is a mix of science fiction, supernatural and fantasy. The author seamlessly recaps the happenings in the first book of the series, Lailah. Lailah continues to struggle with her identity, mostly for Gabriel's sake. She also uncovers more of the crystal mystery. The ending left me feeling as though a third book is in the Styclar future and all I can say without g ...more

After the events of the first book, Lailah tries to find more about herself, her powers and discover more about her feelings for Gabriel and for Jonah too.
Although I am not usually the type to root for love triangles, this one kind of worked for me in a way that reminded me of the "Infernal Devices" by Cassandra Clare.
I'll still be rooting for Gabriel that's for sure. He is the most patient character I've ever seen in a YA novel!

DNF at page 230.

I enjoyed the first book when it came out, but this one has just been terribly dull. If I'm more than 200 pages into a book, I feel like something should have happened to advance the plot, not just "Lailah is sick. Lailah is scared. Boys fight." It's not entertaining, and I no longer care.

I couldn't connect to Gabriel as much as I did the previous book from Kelly. There was something about how the events played out that I just couldn't get in tuned with. Maybe I've read some other awesome titles around the same time, but it just wasn't for me.

I love this book. It has romance and suspense. We get to know Gabriel more. There is betrayal and jealousy. The ending was a great way to end the book. If you are reading this review to see if this book is worth it, I'm telling you right now that this book is amazing. You should read this.

Decent, but I was often frustrated with Lailah and how blind she was to what was going on with Gabriel. I'm excited for the next book since it will hopefully focus more on Jonah and their relationship.
