✪✪✪ 3 Star Rating ✪✪✪

Like the first part this was a very fast paced and action filled read, however, I didn't enjoy it quite as much as the first. Although the writing had improved, there were less errors and you were drawn further into the story, it just got way too complicated and messy for me.
It got to the point where I just thought that even the characters don't even know whose side they are on, they just swapped sides continuously, so many times I lost count and e

I enjoyed this sequel a bit less than Book One, but it was still a fun read.

In Book Two, we find that the villain(s) are not just plain evil, they are actually smart and very organized, particularly the leader. She does not have only two sidekicks, there are plenty of bad guys by her side... Or are there?
Kyp finds some unexpected allies and gains new enemies, as he tries to unveil just what exactly is going on. In doing so, he will find someone he never e

The second book of the Chimera adventures immediately starts with twists and turns, and by the middle of the book all that was sure before seems unsure. Every character seems unreliable, some overtly changing sides, some pretending to do so for nobler causes. Or are they? As the reader, it is difficult to even believe in the good in Kyp, as he seems to lose that belief himself. Perhaps those moments when he gives up are the most poignant, but this is mostly lost in the fast paced race and double ...more

Though the Chimera books are Fantasy, there’s enough creepy and sinister characters and events to put them in the Children’s Horror category as well, which is why I’m reviewing them for Horror October Fortnight, hosted by Oh, The Books!

Kyp Finnegan, finds himself in Chimera, where all lost things end up, including children. If you’re looking for a comparison, it’s The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland as a nightmare. Everything is out to steal his Elsewhere Light (what will allow him to get back

I recieved an ARC of this book via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

As the second installment of this series, book two did not let me down. the story remains whimsical, strange and well written and paced. The only problem that I've felt has become more and more glaringly obvious as I read through this book was that Gomm's writing is really slightly on the dry side. There's just a little too much betrayal that I'm still heavily confused as to who's alliance is with who.

This book, for me, was better than the first. The twists and turns and the unexpected were page turners. This book seemed to have more violence than the first - which gears this book more toward an older audience than the first.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review via Netgalley.
