Revenge is a dish best served cold… while wearing heels.

April has just learned the real reason behind her boss’ impromptu dinner invitation. He only invited her to dinner with his colleagues to prove a point: that he can show up at an event with a plain Jane and still be considered ‘the man’. She expected better from him and had secretly hoped that one day their

A fun read with fun characters sometimes tends to resemble cartoons put into words - although you enjoy them, you know they're not real. Contrary to that first impression, this isn't the case. I totally identified myself with April, who is funny, smart and savvy, but can also be hurt and offended by the sexy, cool-looking Dr. Chad Stewart.
Her friends are every girl's dream - cheerful, exciting and together they make a great team, with a vital mission on their hands.
A cute and relaxing read, a

Well done, Ms. Allen. I read The Makeover at a time when my spirits were low, and the book provide much needed humor. As a former high school wallflower, I could easily identify with April and her friends and the frustrations associated with being outside the so-called cool group. I enjoyed the way the love story developed and look forward to reading more about the nerd girls.

This is a fun read. April captures her boss's heart before he knows what hits him, showing nerd girls know how to be fun and sexy just as much as the next girl. Cute story.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4. A short, sweet romance. A nerdy secretary is invited to a dinner party by her doctor boss because the boss needs to show his colleagues that he can date nerdy girls, as readily as the "arm candy" he's usually seen with. Unbeknownst to both of them, they each have had feelings for the other for quite awhile. Anyway the secretary finds out about the boss's need for a plain jane date and she's not happy about it. Needless to say it does all work out but its funny and ...more

4 stars. This book was cute and cooky. I needed something to make me smile after a, Wow book. This book is vanilla but cute. Not sure if I read the second book because to much quirky will make me blacch. No Offense. Cheers to the author.
Hopelessly Hooked on Books
This was a really good fun romantic book, though I would have liked a little more. Chad &April are very cute together. Glad that April went through with the date even after what Michael (the rat) said to her. Good for her to not back down and stood up for herself.
Cute, fun story even with the drama.
