Ghost Memory
La Fi is not having a normal day. She broke someone’s nose, embarrassed her fiancé, Thulu, and now a dead guy is on her doorstep. Although seeing the dead is not unusual for the young medium, since she and Thulu regularly deal with the supernatural. Thulu can find anything that's lost and the amnesiac ghost is missing money, along with his memory.
Peter Swanson used to stash money throughout his San Francisco home. Now he can’t remember his hiding places, and his aging partner needs the money. That’s not normally a problem for Thulu, but some of the money is missing from the house. Thulu and La Fi must broaden the search for cash long gone, and that could prove tricky in more ways than one.

Ghost Memory (A Thulukan Chronicles Story, #1) by Maer Wilson absolutely blew me away. How Maer managed to jam an enthralling ghost story into 40 pages that read like a full-blown novel will remain a mystery? She expertly juggles the early lives of La Fi and Thulu, fleshing out their characters with delicious facets of what's to come. I loved the foreshadow at the beginning and never expected the payoff to be so perfect at the end. This classic tale of a ghost with something left undone is full of beauty and pace, humour and poignant moments. Well done Maer for this FIVE STAR ghostly edition to her wonderful series and I highly recommend it to readers of fantasy everywhere. So what are you waiting for, download this little treasure now.

Title: An Adorable Page Turner *****
I really enjoyed how my Grab-O-Meter sparked on the very first page of Maer Wilson’s “Ghost Memory” as I read the words...”I wasn’t in the mood for...some old, dead guy...” From there, subtle hints of “Topper” and “Casper” came to mind, only in this case, I was treated to Thulu and Fiona, a highly appealing couple starting a detective agency that just caters to dead people. Or, as the sensitive, street-fighting Fiona points out, “No living clients for us. Nuh-uh; no way, no how.”
Using glib, funny prose, Ms. Wilson introduces the reader to their current case––a dead, Alzheimered client trying to locate his lost (or stolen) money to give to his still living partner. A page-turner, this adventure-filled caper, with its surprising supernatural powers and a look at the concept of Going Into The Light, ends with a clever segway to Ms. Wilson’s follow up book, “Unwanted Ghost”. All in all, a really fun Can’t-Put-It-Down read!

Wilson's Ghost Memory is a fin, fast-paced read. Thulu and Fiona, college-age paranormal investigators on the hunt, are looking for money that was left behind behindwhen a ghost dies, not remembering where he hid it before his death.
Full of the charm of new discovery discovery and a great introduction to the characters featured in Wilson's Relics, this story will lead you to want more.

I’m going to admit, I have not finished RELICS, the book this short story is a prelude too. I Interviewed Maer for Bewitching Talk Radio having a cool conversation about the main novel and everything entailed within it. This short story, which released on Thursday, July 25th, takes place before RELICS while Fiona and her husband Thulu are finishing their final year of college.
Maer has a flair for shorts, I have only read the first half of the novel and have experienced her writing as something almost akin to blocking a show, which is not a surprise given her theatre background. She has very descriptive, which can be misleading at times when you are paying attention to detail in a mystery novel but I can definitely say I know exactly what everything looks like. She paints a picture with words and I really wish I lived in San Francisco in one of the old Victorians.
Arguably, and we did argue about this being a young adult read, this is a story that is not written for young adults but it is easily accessible to them and also because of the PG-13 rating I would easily give both this and the novel, I would easily think your teen would love and enjoy it, especially since this married couple is a very positive example of a healthy relationship!
It was a great introduction to the novel and gives you a great tease to #TeamThulukan, RELICS!
A few wonderful things I want to add: The short was professionally edited and formatted and this is evident. Th eBook is completely accessibility for all tablets, phones and online cloud readers and includes not only the first chapter but also all her social media links and even her awesome Book Trailer! Considering it is a short story, the evident love that was poured into a short story shows the passion the author has for her story and respect she has for her readers.

Maer Wilson is a talented writer who generally focuses on middle grade and young adult fiction. This short novella is a fine example of her talent. The plot is told from the point of view of Fiona (Fi) who is a budding young detective about to finish college. She is ready to launch an agency with her fiance, Thulu. There is one strange thing about their business; their business will be involved strictly with clients who have already died. Together Fi and Thulu are able to see and communicate with the dead. Thulu and Fi met at the age of ten shortly after Fi’s parents were killed in an accident.
At the outset the reader is introduced to Fi when she breaks the nose of a student in karate class. She feels badly, but soon perks up when she sees a “client” outside her door. Peter Swanson engages her to find the money he has hidden in his former home for his husband, Donovan. The next day, the two sleuths visit Donovan at home, while Peter assists Thulu in finding the money. They discover that some of it is missing. Fi and Thulu use their detective skills to solve the mystery and convince the thief, by some rather unconventional methods, to return the money to Donovan.
Wilson is an excellent writer. She weaves the plot skillfully and manages to delineate her characters’ personalities in the span of a few pages. The reader develops an affinity for them as well as an appetite for learning more about them and their adventures. Wilson gives the readers a taste of what is to come in Relics at the end of her e book. I believe most readers will want to continue reading about these characters in this series. This book would be appropriate for teen readers as well as adults. Whether or not you enjoy paranormal works, I think you will want to look at this series.

First off, I want to say the editing is superb. Not a single time did a misspelled word or uneven sentence trip me. That is such a JOY nowadays. Seems like every book I read has something in it that upsets the flow of the story. Not so with Ghost Memories.
A short peek into my favorite character's lives has me in a Dojo where Thulu and La Fi are practicing Karate. When La Fi is partnered with an opponent other than Thulu, habit takes over and she kicks him in the nose. While Thulu takes the unfortunate man to emergency, La Fi heads home, only to be confronted by a ghost who wishes to retain their services in finding the missing money he wants to leave to his partner. Unfortunately, at the time he died, he had Alzheimers disease and now he can't remember where the money is located.
Of course Thulu and La Fi are ready to help and of course there is a crime involved, Our supernatural private detectives are up to the task and soon get started on retrieving the stolen money.
This is a short short, so it's great for a lunch read or a bathroom break. well, for us Crohnies that is. LOL On a serious note, the little shorts are so nice for taking our minds on a break. I often call it mind-candy. A short sugar high that leaves you wanting more. I love the Relic's Universe. So will you.

Ghost Memory is a nice introduction to the characters in Muir’s other story, Relics, as well as to the author’s writing style. Obviously it isn’t a full length novel but just a glimpse into Fi and Thulu’s life.
I enjoyed the characters. I got just enough of a taste of the two main characters to want to read Relics to find out more about them. The story is told in first person POV from Fi’s point of view, but the author did a good job with it. I didn’t get annoyed with Fiona or feel like I wasn’t getting a good view of what was going on.
It was a quick read, but I think that was a combination of both its length and the fact that it drew me in. The story was sweet, but not in an overly sappy way. For example, I really liked the relationship between Don and Peter. It’s nice every once in a while to just see two people in love.
I think if you haven’t read Relics yet that this is a good way to see if the story itself would interest you. If you already have then I think you will enjoy seeing Fi and Thulu again. Either way I recommend picking it up.

“Ghost Memory” by Maer Wilson is a lovely paranormal short story about two mediums or paranormal detectives, if you so will. They are recruited by a ghost who wants them to locate some misplaced cash and a will.
Told with casual wit and much warmth by one of the detectives the story is very likeable, the conversation with the ghost is very understated and un-sensational, which I particularly enjoyed. The case is not very complex but the story lives from its characters: The dynamics between the investigating couple and the elderly couple separated by death are sweet and entertaining.
This is a really lovely story.

Maer Wilson is successful in creating a novella that brings you through the story without cutting out details. I loved this book. I am a believer in ghosts and so this story played right into my need to read for fun. I found the characters very relate able and the story flowed very well. If you enjoy ghosts with a bit of sleuthing then you will love this story as much as I did. I would love if this was a series of these sleuthing for ghost kind of stories and I hope that Maer brings them to us!

I was hooked form the start!! This book although short and a quick read was very descriptive and held my interest. I sometimes find that descriptive books can come across as drawn out but this book flowed very well! I was really pleased and would without a doubt recommend this to others. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of series!! I received this book as a free copy from Maer Wilson!

Flawless. I read this book directly after reading Relics. It does everything a supporting short story is supposed to. It helps us understand the characters more deeply, outside of the intense drama of the main books. I feel I understand them better and it makes me want to re-read the Relics again.
Also, the case they deal with is a bit of a tearjerker. But maybe I'm just a sensitive guy.

I found Relics on the shelf at my local library. When I checked Goodreads, I found two shorts, and got them from Amazon. Fi and Thulu seem entertaining. Ghost Memory made me want to get to know these characters better, so I got Unwanted Ghost.

Wonderful, endearing characters in a heartwarming story. Fi and Thulu are instantly likable characters. I wanted to give Fi a hug! And somewhat surprisingly in our cynical world, they actually work to make peoples' lives better. Fun story with a positive message :)

This was really not a good choice for me. Firstly, it is a novella - and I am not overly fond of novellas. Secondly, I know nothing about the series.
While this is perfectly well written, I believe it is better read *after* one knows the characters. There is no character development here - no TIME for character development - and it reads as though the author has assumed the reader knows the characters.
There is a story . . . but there is no real mystery - no plot climax - no interesting developments. Just a story.
Overall, if you know and love the characters, this is likely a fine read. If you have no idea who anyone is, I'd skip it.

Such a fun light read. I hope this gets more readers and a bigger Fandom. It reminds me of a Korean series.

Another great story that really shows some of the beginning stages of the business you see in the Wedding. I loved the character growth despite the shortness of the story that makes me want to see more and learn about their skills. Also don't mess with either they will lay you out.
