About the author

Various is the correct author for any book with multiple unknown authors, and is acceptable for books with multiple known authors, especially if not all are known or the list is very long (over 50).

If an editor is known, however, Various is not necessary. List the name of the editor as the primary author (with role "editor"). Contributing authors' names follow it.

This is a super-cute read aloud or early reader book. It has creative illustrations, and the illustrator has done a good job of keeping the scary parts from being too scary in the pictures (think Badger chasing Bunny). My 4th grader had been introduced to Beatrix Potter as an author, but couldn't remember reading any of her books, so I picked these up from the library, even though they were far below her reading level. The story about being a good friend is timeless, and now she knows how great this author was! I would put this at a kindergarten or first grade reading level.
