Always Been You by Sadie Allen is a roller coaster of a ride full of romance, drama and action!

Wow. Wow. Wow! I did not expect this book to be so packed tight of insanity! Sadie Allen does a fantastic job of writing a fantastical tale about a long lost romance, but she throws in some thrills and chills to keep the reader hooked!

I absolutely loved Emma and Braz's relationship, but Skye was the real winner for me. This teenage girl steals the show, and makes me desperate to grab the next book! Ho
Chili pepper heat is blazing as two high school “friends” are reunited when Emma Taylor comes back home fifteen years after her greatest humiliation and heartbreak at the hands of Brazos Huntswell.

Emma is now a teacher and has come home to be with her father, who is caught up in the soul-deep grief of losing his wife and best friend. She didn’t realize that one of the students at her school was actually Brazos’ troubled teen daughter, a girl with secrets of her own.

This one was a good read. I loved Emma. In the beginning I felt bad for her but she turned out to be a strong woman. Her and Brazs have a past that doesn't sit well with Emma. Emma is back in town. Emma and Brazs still have a connection after all those years. I have to say I took a little bit to warm up to Brazs but once I learned what was going on with him at the very beginning of the book my heart melted a little for him. Brazs is now a single parent to Skye. Skye is a strong will kid. They're ...more

Oh he** no

I can't stomach weak heroines. This woman is pathetic. The "hero," Brazos - awful name, btw - is an overbearing creep with an excuse for everything to explain away his cowardice, and the heroine, Emma, is so stupid she caves every time like a dog in heat. Both internal and spoken dialogue are loaded with cheese and not the "Aww, sweet" kind but the "Who sliced the limburger" kind.

There's about 25 characters to keep track of and a convoluted plot that is just so ridiculous and random.

I absolutely love this book! Second chance romance along with some suspense kept me reading from beginning to the end. I love Emma and Braz. They have great chemistry. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next book in this series!

Once upon a time Emma Taylor worked up the courage to tell the boy she had harbored a crush on for years that she wanted him, and then said boy(Braz) did something she hoped he wouldn't and turned her down, for another girl no less. And it broke her heart into a million pieces, and left her feeling antsy to get the heck out of town, so she fled to Vegas and never looked back. But home came calling after all these years, and she has to return to the place that holds bad memories, and where the ma ...more

Ever since stumbling upon Maybe Never (the original cover was the bait) I’ve been a fangirl of the author, so when she announced Always Been You, which would not be YA and the start of a new series, I was all about getting my hands on it and I must admit that, overall, I really enjoyed it. I was hooked from the start, even if it did have me cringing, and found that, even though one thing drove me a bit batshit crazy, I had a difficult time putting it down and really liked how ever

A sweet, small-town, almost-second-chance-romance with a bit of mystery and a whole lot of heart, this is the first book in Sadie Allen’s Cedar Lake series, and is a great introduction to this town and its characters.

Emma Taylor fell in love with her neighbour, Braz Huntswell, the moment she met him as a new-to-town 12 year old. She nursed her crush for years, finally making her move on graduation night only to get shot down in devastating fashion. Braz’s rejection, and the way he did

There is nothing better than a sexy cowboy who is also a fantastic dad. It's like S.A. reached into my brain and pulled out my very own wet dream. Drool. Emma and Brazos are one of the sweetest couples I have ever had the pleasure of reading about. Their story is far from perfect. But their love is absolutely legendary.

Story Line: Our story begins 15 years ago when our two main characters are celebrating the end of their high school careers. I found this time line hilarious since I legit just go

My thoughts are a little jumbled for Always Been You. I really enjoyed Sadie Allen’s writing, but there was something that didn’t work for me. I’m not sure how to explain it, but I’ll do my best.

I would categorize Always Been You as a romantic suspense novel. There was a second chance love story between the main characters, Emma and Braz. There was also a murder mystery happening in their small town

Get ready to go on a wild ride in the small town of Cedar Lake, Texas. This story begins with 17 year old Emma revealing to her long time crush Brazos that she loves him. Things don't go as planned and she ends up heart broken. She leaves town and decides to never try love again. Now it's years later and she is back in town to bury her mother who died suddenly. Brazos is a single and divorced dad. The high school sweetheart he loved turned out to be a monster and left him and their daughter behi ...more

This story was full of emotions, mystery, suspense, and a hot cowboy.

Emma … man, what do I say about her? I loved Emma! This girl had her heart broken before she was able to truly live, which hardened her against ever falling for a man. When she holds a grudge, she REALLY holds a grudge. I understand where she was coming from, though. When you have your mind and heart set on something (especially your heart), when things finally start to come together and you feel like you are so close to all yo

Always Been You is an intriguing tale about coming home. Emma is all of us. Rejected, scorned, and fearful of returning to the scene of the crime. She comes back to her hometown under sad circumstances and is forced to reunite with the man who broke her heart. In the time they spent apart, Braz has become painfully aware that Emma was the one who got away.

Their story isn't just a one and done, though. It isn't just about romance. There is a ton of excitement going on in Cedar Lake that means th

Sadie Allen knows teen angst. She captures it perfectly at the beginning of this book, when we initially meet Emma, and later on when we encounter Skye, who deserves everyone in the world rooting for her.

This is a beautiful second-chance, small-town story, perfectly setting up the beginning to a charming new series.

Always Been You was such a page turning read! I absolutely loved this book! This story is one in a series but seems it can be read as a stand alone. I can’t wait for the next book in this series to see other stories unfold within the town of Cedar Lake. There is some suspense in this book with unexpected surprises. I highly recommend reading this book.

Amazing beautiful deep story! Emma as a teenager had a huge crush but unfortunately that crush tuned into hate. Now back home years later trying to take of her grieving father. But the past comes out full force and seeing Braz opens up old memories of heartache. A great drama filled romance so much I want more! A must read for any second chance romance fans. 5/5 stars

The heroine in this book is so weak. She’s wishy washy. She’s supposed to mad or upset and he winks at her and she’s so in love with him.

I could not put this book down. First time I’ve read from this author, so happy I took the chance. I was hooked from the first 5 minutes in. I also didn’t put this book down for a break at all. Emma and Braz gave me everything from laughter to that knot in your chest from the angst. Cedar Lake was a great place to visit for a few hours and can’t wait head over again

The way Sadie write will make you fall in love.

My review is 4.4 stars.

I was waiting for quite a time now to read one of Sadie's. She has been out of my read list for some time now. And the way she came with #ABY that's actually commendable. I really loved the way she accomplished the book. From start to finish there was so much to cherish for. It's just a small statement when we say that Small Town roman
