I’m going to admit, in public no less, that this was an uncomfortable read for me – at times. I totally “got” why Selene felt as she did at times. Her insecurities, her constant questions about her own self-worth. I “got” why she chose men who were just no good for her. And why she felt as though she deserved no better than what she was given in life. I “got” her.
I also applauded her determination to change her life around (okay, maybe there was a spell or two a ...more

Selene has never had the best luck with men. With an abusive husband, she has given up on finding the right guy. Beck is a manly man and not someone Selene thinks she stands a chance with. They are both stubborn and kind of immature when it comes to their relationship.
Fortuna, a Goddess of Desire, has taken an interest in Selene and casts spells in order to control Beck and Selene and their desire for one another. I liked this part of the story and how Fortuna uses her powers. It added the right ...more

Wow! I love Beck, he's sexy, smart, and the man sure can cook a mean steak! and he's sexy ..lol...Selene I felt for she had a abusive husband and one shitty guy after another until she meets Beck. I loved them together, loved them getting to know each other and how they can't help but think about each other. I did think the back and forth was a little too drawn out in some parts but I loved sarah and Carole's meddling ways..lol... good story, sweet, sexy and loving. 3.5 to 4 stars review by Nane

What a lovely read.
I enjoyed Selene's journey with the guys who just weren't right. Then she meets Beck. I loved him, he's such a sexy, great guy and I was hanging out for them to realize they belonged together.
The supporting characters in the story are fun too. The idea of the goddess 'interfering' in Selene's life was very creative. This is a sexy, fun, interesting love story. Highly recommend. ...more

Selene is an interesting character. At the start of the book, she has lost all her faith in ever finding the perfect match, so she’s a little grumpy.

My major problem with this book is that it didn't grab me. I couldn't really connect with the story line or the characters. I can't tell you how many times I just thought to myself that I should just give up on trying to finish it. I wouldn't necessarily avoid this author in the future but I wouldn't go out of my way to read her future works either ...more
