Author Amy J. Tol dreamed of planning her wedding since she was a little girl. But when that time finally arrived, she found, as many future brides do, that the actual preparations can be overwhelming. When this happens, Christian brides just long for a little spiritual guidance. They'll find it in this book. Amy now offers brides-to-be a wedding planner that not only gives practical ideas and advice, but also presents spiritual reflections on what it means to be a bride of God. Here all future brides have the unique opportunity to think about God's character, their faith, and their heart. As a result, they will be less frazzled and more focused, spiritually and emotionally, as they plan for their wedding and the new life that follows.
I originally bought this book for the next friend who would get engaged, but then it was my turn! I started this book soon after engagement even with the wedding over one year away. I cannot tell you how much this planner has helped, guided, and grounded me this past year or so. I’ve been able to refer back to sections when I get anxious and use the budget planners inside to stay focused when options seem overwhelming. The sections in here about being the Bride of ____ have always served me in the right time. If you know a friend who is getting married soon, this planner is a great physical and spiritual guide to plan their big day!!
This is a fairly niche book. If you are planning a wedding (the book is aimed at the bride-to-be, specifically) and appreciate bible quotes to help ground yourself or give you focus etc., then this book is for you.
I am not the target audience.
The book has several checklists and question-lists to help you through the planning. It is substantial. Other books (and magazines and blogs, etc.) also have similar information.
A good book with good practical ideas.\nThe spiritual side is great. Although I admittidely skimmed a lot of that for time's sake. Probably shouldn' thave.
