Redbird at Rockefeller Center is a very sweet story about a brokenhearted girl named Katie, the giant thousand-foot spruce tree that she loved, and the redbird that lived on top of it. Katie's mother thought the tree crowded their yard and had it taken away to Rockefeller Center where it was decorated with stuffed redbirds. The redbird was far from home and wanted to return, but no one heard his plea until Christmas Eve when something magical happened, and, well, Katie and the redbird ended up having a joyous red Christmas!

4 stars for the story, but 2 for the illustrations.

The depiction of the red bird is especially un-endearing. Reminiscent of a fast food chain logo.
