FIERCE - 5 stars
Hunter sold his soul to the devil but now that he's met Autumn he has a chance to win it back. Fierce is a well written, fast paced, sensual adventure about discovering who you are, who you're meant to be, and finding the strength to survive in the arms of the one person who makes you complete. Opposites attract in this coming of age drama that drew me in from the very first page!

FURY - 5 Stars
Have you ever wondered what he was thinking? Written from Hunter Bane's point of view, Fury offers amazing insight into Hunter's character, what was going on in his mind during Fierce, and exactly what demons are driving him to make the choices he doesn't want to make. Clarissa Wild's amazing storytelling opens up Hunter's world like no male POV I've ever read before.

FLAME - 5 Stars
The must read conclusion to Hunter and Autumn's emotionally charged relationship. FLAME burns up the pages with action, adventure, sensuality and chemistry. I loved every minute of this well written and fast paced romance. Fans of the Fierce series won't be disappointed!

FILTHY - 4 Stars
I loved Jaret’s character in the previous books, and it was awesome to get an intimate view into his history and finally understand what makes him the complex and dynamic character that I love. He was, by far, my favorite part of this story. I had a harder time connecting with Lin's character and I would have liked to see more growth on her part. It was so much fun to see Hunter and Autumn again and get a glimpse into how their relationship continues to grow. And, of course, it just wouldn't be Fierce if there weren't scenes with Jessie. Overall, I found FILTHY to be a fun addition to the Fierce series.

Copies of FIERCE, FURY, FLAME and FILTHY were provided by the author in exchange for honest reviews.

FIGHT - 5 STARS

I loved this book! Plain and simple. I could go on and on about the feelings it tore from me. About Autumn as a character, about the amazing author - Clarissa Wild, or about the emotions I feel toward the subjects in this story that are handled delicately AND poignantly.

Fight is a snip-it of Autumn Blakewood's past. Snap-shot after snap-shot of what it was like as she was hurt over and over again by other horrible, disrespectful teenagers. Since I read this short-story AFTER Fierce, I was in awe of her strength and her tenacity. I was never afraid for her. I never pitied her or felt sad for her. I felt all of those things, but for the situations and for the rawness and honesty of her thoughts. Autumn is one amazing character. She was written with such care and thoughtfulness. The depth of destruction as she is bullied and tormented is palpable yet, it's all written with a poetic nature and a quiet beauty.

Autumn has become one of my favorite characters. She has been through so much in her life. So much with her peers, with her family, with her peers... But she is still standing. Showing us all just what it takes to FIGHT!

FIERCE - 4.5 STARS

Remind you of anything you've read? If not, that's ok, because to me that's where the similarities started and ended. Autumn Blakewood was a great character. Described in the book, by herself, as this frizzy-haired, glasses wearing nobody. Autumn thinks she blends into the background regarding her geek status however, she's inquisitive and loyal. She has an amazing sense of humor and she's not one to go with the flow. Autumn will figure it all out for herself-she wants to form for own opinions of people.

"When I look into his beautiful eyes, all I see is hurt. He looks broken. Beaten.

...It's like he's been crying all day and has been trying to hide it from the world. Like he's been hiding himself."

Hunter Bane is scorching hot ladies! He's tall, dark, HOT! "He's the epitome of a bad boy; cocky, confident fighter, who likes to get girls worked up for no reason." Only very early on we realize...that's not all he is. Hunter is smart, witty, and thinks getting a college degree is important-that studying is important. He is, if nothing else, fiercely loyal. (See what I did there) Hunter would do anything for his family. He is involved in an illegal frat and the reasons for why he is involved will break your heart. He feels as if he must prove himself and this is the only way.

"...You have no idea how fucking hard it is to do this. I don't want to be in this s#it, but I am, and I can't change that."

They have this banter between them that starts almost immediately. The push and pull. It's really great at some points kinda funny. Hunter has a nickname for Autumn...it's Leafy. He was witness to something that happened to her and when he first meets her...he begins calling her Leafy. They begin an exchange of helping him study for self-defense training for her. She had an incident walking home from work and Hunter was there to help her out. (I'm being vague...I know) They being this flirty friendship, and you just know there's more there under the surface. You can feel it! The change between them happening...she's still a bit shy and timid but coming out of her shell-he's making her a more independent woman and he doesn't even realize it. And Hunter is still trying to play the 'bad-boy- card. Even though this was NOT a dual POV - much to my dismay mind you - you could still almost hear what he would be saying. He's no good for her-she can do better, they are better off as friends, he just wants her happy.

"Because you're different," he says. "But I can't. I can't do this to you. I can't turn you into something you're not, I already think I'm fucked up, but when I fuck you up too... God, no."

But it all comes to a point along with the amazing, and different plot!! The mystery plot involving the secret, illegal frat, Hunter's fighting, the drugs...How the crazy twist works with Autumn's best friends - which are colorful secondary characters I must say!!

FURY - 5 STARS

When I read Fierce - and I only read it because of the cover - I was blown away! I thought how could this get better? When the author announced that there was more to Hunter and Leafy's story I was beyond excited for the next book!! FURY is that book! It's telling the story of how HE lived their meeting, falling, and the insane events that took place in between. It's SO MUCH MORE than just a basic re-telling of the first book!

The way the story unfolds, while weaving through the intricacies of the first book is stunning. The book has two main elements: Hunter's need to help his brother - what ensues as he tries AND Hunter needing to know Leafy - the way she makes him feel and what happens as their relationship progresses. We get so much more of Hunter and don't get me wrong, the cover is just as fierce as the first, but he's more than that. He's a man who was practically raised by his older brother. To keep them fed and a roof over their heads, Jessie - his brother, got into some very shady things. Jessie is Hunter's tether to the Earth. When he sees him battered and bruised, Hunter immediately deflates. He undeniably knows this is their life now.

"My bother is my rock. He is supposed to be the one who cannot be bruised.

And yet he seems broken to the bone."

Like I said this is more than just a re-telling. Hunter is still that amazing character from before, but now... We see just how amazing he really is. We find out just how much harder than everyone else he works. He has to keep notes to remember things - small, menial things. The 'weakness' in his brain makes him even sexier when you see how he overcomes it everyday. Hunter is strong, independent, and resilient. But he's also broken down, scared to death, and more sure than anything that he must make Jessie proud of him. When Jessie gets put in jail, Hunter goes to extremes to get him out. There is nothing he wouldn't do to keep Jessie safe and to try with everything he has to make it all right. The emotions that Hunter experiences as a result of things happening to Jessie run the gamut. I loved seeing him go from the this super tough guy, as he's getting to know Jessie's 'co-workers and hierarchy of dealers', to a man who's utterly defeated, to a brother on a mission. The relationship between Jessie and Hunter is like no other. Jessie going to extreme lengths to provide a life he never had for Hunter and Hunter needing to know his big brother is safe taking any measures to make that happen. There is nothing he wouldn't do for his brother, no lines he wouldn't cross.

"One thing is for sure, though: I can't fail. I simply can't let my brother down. He's done so much for me. This is what I have to do now."

When he first sees Autumn, he notices how beautiful she is - crazy frizzy hair and all. He wants to see her and talk to her and can't get his mind to stop thinking about her. When he finally goes to her, we get to experience all the lust he has for her. It's terrific to experience the emotions he has about his brother and what he has to do to help him. But it's smashing to experience the emotions and connection he forms with Leafy. As his brother is away, I feel like Leafy becomes his reason. Hunter needs to be near her, needs to see her, smell her. It's not a stalky, creepy need but one where it's like breathing. He enjoys the challenge of getting to her. Making her nervous. When she blushes he thinks it's the cutest thing. With the threat of the gang bearing down on him, he knows he needs to stay away from her, yet he just can't. He needs closeness more than anything and he feels they have an 'underdog' connection.

"The moment her beautiful eyes make contact with mine again, I'm lost. It's so hard to remain in control of my emotions. I just want to burst out in screams of frustration and anger and hold her tight, just because I need someone right now."

And again, I'm leaving out some major points and being vague on the others I mention. I'm really having a hard time putting what I read into my own words. It's all eloquently laid before us that it's difficult to let you know how I saw the book and how I felt while reading it. And I did feel many things! I felt involved, more informed, then all the normal things I like to feel as I read a great book! Sadness, happiness, anger, joy, frustration, love, and raw passion. It was an incredible book and to live it, again, but through our Hero's eyes was undeniably fascinating!! I simply couldn't stop turning the pages of my kindle! I was in awe of Hunter in so many ways. In awe of his ability to adapt to things, in awe of the depth of his love for Jessie, in awe of the way he treated his relationship with Leafy. Hunter is a surprising character that takes us all a breathtaking journey!!

"She is my fall, my rise, the branches that catch me when I need her support. She's shown me there's so much more to life, and that I have something to fight for."

FLAME - 5 STARS

When I first read Fierce, I didn't know until I wrote my review that it was a series! I was more than over the moon. I just couldn't get enough of Hunter and Leafy and the journey that I just knew they were taking!! This book was superb!! And the thought of being able to officially meet Jesse was ominous. Ominous because he seemed to be the crux of Hunter's problems. Even though I knew that Hunter adored him as the obvious events in Fierce showed me. And I was worried for nothing! Jesse was a great character in this book - taking to Leafy and working hard right out of the box to make things right with Hunter. And the banter between them was crazy funny - acting like they hadn't been separated for no time at all. I could tell he wanted to be the 'provider' for Hunter and wanted nothing more but for Hunter to be happy!

"Can't you see that I did everything for you? Because you're my little brother, and I want the best for you."

Hunter and Autumn's relationship goes through some turbulence in this one. The book literally starts almost right where it left off. And I give mad props to our wonderful author, Clarissa Wild, for making the decision to write this book in dual POV!! I know that I'm biased - as that's my favorite way to read a good book. But I think that it brought the book to life even more than the others. I got a glimpse of what his childhood was like, in sort of flashback moments. It was awful quite honestly and many times I ended those flashbacks with tears in my eyes or on my cheeks. I understand now why he is the way he is - why he feels compelled to make the choices he does. And Hunter makes some tough choices and but he's always got his Leafy and his brother in mind while making them. I always knew he was an alpha male! The rawness and his true self being to really bloom. And I say bloom because he's always been him but a more refined version. and most would say that a more refined version of someone is a good thing - but not for Hunter! He's himself with the edges frayed. I am still a huge Hunter fan but I was really appalled at what some of the thoughts that he has in this book. But when I finished the book - I think he had to have those really low thoughts to get to where he and Leafy and he and Jesse are.

"I'm not normal. You knew I wasn't the moment you got into a relationship with me. I cannot be anything else than what I am, and what I am is a fighter in heart and soul. This is what I'm good at. End of story."

Autumn was really coming out of her shell - all the way. She too makes some tough choices. I felt as if Autumn bloomed to her true self, too. After marinating on the story for a few days... I came to the conclusion that they needed each other to really become the incredibly stand up characters that they are. She was feisty and sassy. As I was reading, I was confused by some of the interactions between her and Hunter. But then realized that those are the growing pains in their relationship. Hunter more than adores her and loves her with everything he has and Autumn returns that love ten-fold. I could tell that she loved him unconditionally and that unconditional love is what helps Hunter realize that he is he's worthy of her. Autumn goes through so many emotions in this book and I was right along side her. But the real amazing part of this book is watching Autumn realize that she is independent and can stand on her own two feet - and there's no place she'd rather stand then in Hunter's arms.

"There's nothing in this world that I wouldn't do for him. Nothing. I would go through hell and back for him, even if it means I'd die. I'd rather not be alive at all than live without him."

As I mentioned above - I was dying to know what life brought to Hunter and Leafy and their relationship. What was the rest of their journey? I got my answers and let me tell you - It was one amazing trip!!

Fight

Fight is a short and sweet read about some of Autumn’s experiences growing up. I really wasn’t sure what to expect from her history, but I was surprised at the range of emotions this short story sparked in me. Autumn has dealt with bullies since she was just a kid and continues to live under their judgment throughout high school. Meanwhile, her family is facing their own issues, leaving her no place to feel safe or wanted. As I read a little more of her story my heart ached for her. This short story helped fill out Autumn’s character a lot. With this new information, I found myself much more in awe of her decisions and the loyalty that we experience in Fierce and Fury. Her friendship with Brody becomes clear and we finally get to understand why it was so difficult for her to see anything negative in him. We also get a glimpse into her friendship with Evie and why they clung to each other and how they became so important in each other’s lives. Fight enhanced my respect for Autumn’s character and grew my admiration for Clarissa’s ability to create beautifully complex and imperfect characters.

Fierce

Hunter isn’t your typical “bad boy”. It is pretty easy to tell that he has a good heart and that he cares about Autumn and wants more from himself and his life than what he has. His “bad boy” persona is clearly a means of survival. Sometimes I wanted Autumn to run in the opposite direction, but part of me completely recognizes that even the smartest girls throw reason out the window when a guy like Hunter comes along. He was real with her and I loved him for that. So I found myself wanting her to stay, to figure out what the hell he was doing and find a way to knock some sense into him. Yes, Autumn did some really really stupid things in the process of solving the mystery, but her heart was on the line and I can't fault her for being protective of Hunter. I was riding that emotional rollercoaster every step of the way. I can’t even begin to explain where I found myself during the last part of the book. When the truth comes out, my emotions were a tangled mess. Throw in the surprise twist at the end and I was pretty much done for (in the best way possible). If you love a bad boy who isn’t all that bad, a nerdy girl who finds a reason to be brave, and a mystery in need of unraveling then you will really enjoy this book.

Fury

While Fierce was an amazing read, it left me with so many questions. So much of the story revolves around Hunter’s actions and the situation he is forced into, but we see it all from Autumn’s POV. I loved Hunter’s voice. We see his relationship with his brother, which lays the foundation for all of the things he takes on throughout the book. We hear his inner struggle as he does things he swore he would never do in the name of saving his brother. We watch as he faces his demons when the frat asks him to do something that hits a little too close to home. We finally get to experience his thoughts, his moral compass, his desperate fight to keep the best thing that has ever happened to him safe. Fury allows us to see Hunter as a complicated and complete character. I promise you’ll love him more for it. Clarissa Wild did an amazing job of growing her character, showing new sides of him and giving him a voice worth listening to. She showed incredible growth as a writer in Fury and did a wonderful job of further developing a rather complex storyline and adding new elements as we get to see the frat from the inside. She took us inside Hunter’s head and gave up a glimpse into his heart, expertly completing the story she began in Fierce. Fury takes Hunter and Autumn’s story to a whole new level and was exactly the refreshing and emotional journey I hoped it would be.

Flame

When I first met Hunter and Autumn in Fierce I immediately liked them. When we got to see Hunter’s side of things in Fury my love for them grew. But while reading Flame, I fell in love with them. I fell in love with them as individuals, as a couple, and as a part of a family. Their story to this point has been about external forces. Dealing with the things in life they have no control over. In Flame we get to see them face their own internal battles. Flame took me on a rollercoaster of emotions from the first page to the last. Getting a glimpse into both of their pasts allowed me to finally understand where their fears and insecurities come from, why they are who they are. Clarissa’s portrayal of the emotional struggle throughout this book had me feeling every emotion with them as I took this journey with Autumn and Hunter. Flame also brought us Jessie, Hunter’s brother. By the end of the book Jessie had worked his way into my heart. Hunter and Jessie’s relationship was real and the love they had for each other could be felt from the moment Jessie enters the picture. Their brotherly banter had me grinning and I was thrilled to see Autumn unafraid of joining their conversations and effectively holding her own. The character growth we see throughout Flame was probably my favorite part of the story. Clarissa does an amazing job of developing Hunter and Autumn and challenging them to look at themselves and each other in a new light. She puts them through the ringer and you can’t help but cheer them on as they fight for their relationship.

FIGHT...She always felt like she wasn't good enough because of the bullies she had to put up with. They kept her from realizing how beautiful she really is, inside and outside....She really struggled with her self esteem. I really felt bad for her and got a better understanding of this sweet, innocent girl that Hunter became so drawn to. It is a fast read but the contents are priceless!
FIERCE...This is a story of Autumn and Hunter, told from her POV, they are two college freshman who are desperate to do well. They are from completely different backgrounds. Autumn comes from a good home with parents who love her and she grew up with security and values.
Hunter on the other hand comes from a very poor neighborhood with only his father and older brother, until his father dies leaving them to fend on their own.
She is the shy, pretty but nerdy girl who can't help but notice the really hot guy who always seems to be around and enjoys teasing her. She can't believe he could be interested in her when he can have any girl he wants. Then after she has a incident and Hunter offers to teach her to defend herself in return for her helping him to study she sees beyond the whole" bad boy" front to find a careing person who is fierce about those he loves. He also has secrets that she's determined to discover. What she finds is a harsh reality that could distroy the fragile trust between them and put her in danger. This is a story of self discovery and just what you would do for the ones you love.
I do recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a fast paced adventure with steamy young romance
FURY...This is a well told story from Hunter's POV and he is so honest about his feelings, hopes and fears that I couldn't help but feel those things with him. Both Hunter and Autumn (Leafy) were perfect for each other even though Hunter kind of fought it at first because he felt like he wasn't good enough for her and then because he was trying to protect her and all the time trying to hide his learning disability. This poor boy had it rough from the word go and and as he came into adulthood it wasn't looking any better or easier for him. His older brother wanted more for Hunter and got in with some really stuff to try and make enough money so Hunter could go to college and have a better chance to do something with his life and get out of the getto. Too late he finds out that he was set up to take a fall for the gang/drug dealers he is working for and ends up in jail. Hunter goes under cover to expose the leader as per a deal with the lead detective on the case. What Hunter goes through is something nightmares are made of, I was so caught up in the action and worrying about him and Autumn I just couldn't put it down til the end. this is a seriously well written story and I would recommend this to adults who like a fast paced, action packed and HOT romance.
FLAME...I was absolutely floored by this second installment in the Fierce series. This is the Epic continuation of Hunter and Autumn's story.
I was put through the whole gambit of emotions with this one, everything from laughter to downright anger and everything in between.
After tearing himself up trying to please everyone, Hunter finally realizes he just can't do what Autumn and his brother want, it's just not in him. He has a learning disability (compliments of his drug addict mother) that prevents him from retaining what he learns in class which in turn makes collage impossable. He was born to fight and fight he will.
Unfortunately, Autumn finds out he is fighting again before he has a chance to explain all the reasons to her, and shows up at the ring. They argue, it gets heated, Hunter reacts badly like he's prone to do when cornered and Autumn takes off in the rain on foot and Hunter goes through ten levels of mental hell until he finds her walking on the side of the road. You are going to have to read this part to believe it but I'm telling you it is one of the most Epic scenes I've ever watched unfold! The reconnecting, and discovery of each others heart felt love is just beautiful.
Autumn's father is still a problem. He has no doubt that this thing between his little girl and Hunter is no good and it is breaking Autumn's heart. The one saving grace for her is unfailing support of her mother who just wants her to be happy.
Hunter proves himself to be such an awesome fighter that he gets the chance to go pro. He in return pays for the medical help that Autumn's mother needs and is healthy enough to be ring side with Autumn when Hunter purposes marriage......Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that Autumn is pregnant (from that epic scene at the road side) and her water chooses that moment to break as if her babies (yes, twins!) are putting in their two cents worth.
I guess by now I don't have to tell you to settle in with this one. You can see your not going to be able to put this one down! And don't worry about Grand Dad, he come around.....Babies change everything

Titles say it all!

Fierce says it all.
This series will pull you in from the first chapter and hold you hostage til the very end!

Hunter Bane (swoon) grew up poor with only his brother to look up to, no other family that matters. He has his issues to overcome and is very self conscious over them. He lives and breathes only for the ones he loves! He'll fight til the end to protect them and the secrets he carries. Hunter doesn't believe he is worthy of love but is blind sided by it anyway when he meets Autumn.

Autumn (Leafy) Blakewood is a nerdy girl that was constantly bullied all through highschool and came home everyday to her parents arguing over money. She goes to college with a goal to make it graduate and get a good job to support her parents. She never suspects she'll become the obsession of a hot, sexy fighter on campus.

When Autumn and Hunter meet they both are overwhelmed with sparks. Will the sparks continue to fly when Leafy discovers Hunters secrets or will she run? Will Hunter allow her to run or become a true hunter?

You must read this series to answer these questions. It's worth the ride for anyone that loves fighters and steamy scenes!!!
