✔Royalty ✔Funny ✔Sexy ✔Romantic ✔Strong Heroine This hilarious mix of Princess Diaries and One Night with the King will leave you in stitches and filled with romance from another land. The beautiful land of Bantaniomos had everything - the great smell of the ocean, the pathways were made of cobblestone, and the streets were gray bricks. The buildings looked like they were centuries old, but they had been kept up. And the best thing? They had a hunk as a Prince. But for Anna from Montana, going there was the perfect escape from her usual life, and she didn't care much for the Prince - until she was suddenly kidnapped and was woken up in the palace. She suddenly found herself in a competition for the Prince's heart - Anna sure doesn’t know how, but she knew that she had to stay away from the Prince as much as she could. With her mischievous ways and un-royal manners, she was sure that the Prince wouldn’t pick her. But what if the Prince was as determined to be with her as she was determined to stay away from him?

This book is absolutely amazing I re-read the whole thing almost 5 times and it never fail to make me laugh the whole time. I love the pranks and I love the personality of the characters. Well done author! looking forward to this one as an actual book seriously. #congrats!!
Update: I can't. The story may have been great, but I couldn't tell because the I was editing in my head while reading.
I just finished the first chapter of this book and...I'm struggling. The concept is intriguing and I want to continue but gracious, an editor would have been greatly appreciated.
This was just so terribly written. Perhaps it's because I've recently been reading books with much more depth and a lot of work, intelligence and effort poured into the words and story, but this was honestly one of the worst books I've ever read. I wish I could give it a lower star rating. There are far too many enthusiastic exclamation points, Anna acts and talks and thinks like an 11 year old girl, I honestly was initially confused, when they would talk about college or travelling the world, because she was mentally pre-teen. Some examples:
'My room was awesome! So completely me! It had blue green walls and cream-coloured carpet...I had a queensized bed that had a white background while there were palm trees everywhere on it. I loved tropical places!'
'I saw my stuffed simba looking envious of Louis. “Missy can you cuddle Simba? He's lonely'
It's beyond juvenile, over the top puppy excitement, childish pranks, just all round annoying shallow character. There was a clear lack of thought process in her creation, and her friends. I'm annoyed I started this book because I then had to finish it, and it's a good 2 hours I'll never get back. I wish we could sue for time instead of money.
I'm curious to know whether Anna had some kind of mental handicap? This entire book was written like it was a child's cartoon. I want to profusely apologise if this was written by a child, as I hate the idea of stifling a young person's creativity. However if it's an adult..then good grief..have mercy on the world of literature.
2 stars. Frankly, I was disappointed with this novel. The Plot, despite being unoriginal ( prince falls in love with a normal girl), was enjoyable. I am a fan of romances, so of course I was drawn to this novel. After being enticed in by the apparent fun, romantic characteristics of the book I was sorely dispirited. The narrator, a seventeen year old teenage girl, came across as a twelve year old who hasn’t reached maturity- a completely unrelatable character for readers the characters actual age .As a sixteen year old, I was actually quite irritated by the narration, especially Mendes simple, mundane style of writing. The plot twist of carol being a villain wasn’t particularly much of a plot twist because the author failed to make that character prominent, therefore the betrayal wasn’t strong for the reader. This brings me on to the characters. For older teenagers, the author portrays them as seriously childish, and if I’m being honest it’s a massive turn off. I understand how Anna’s pranks are part of her personality but I simply hated how mendes moulded the inner circle of characters as they aren’t true representations of older teenagers. This leads me to Anna and Zachs romance. I wasn’t invested at all in their relationship because Mendes failed to write a satisfactory build up and to portray the apparent pure love they shared (after, what, 3 months of knowing each other ). As a reader, it appeared like they met, childish stuff happened then they suddenly fell in love. I had zero feelings when they did kiss and become a couple which was truly disappointing as I expected something much more worked on and complex. My last point is the writing style of the novel. Again, it completely lacked any original structure or style and was more like a twelve years old diary than an actual, constructed piece. Older teenagers do actually have a wide vocabulary and are able to understand better words than this author used on an extremely regular basis. If I’m being honest the entire novel lacked any wording beyond the words taught to primary school children which was quite irritating. I wouldn’t recommend this book to anyone above the age of 15. And if you are going to read this, be prepared for empty relationships, characters you cannot relate to and Mendes insultingly poor writing.

So I started reading this book on Wattpad but then it was only a sample and, of course, I had to finish it. So I bought the book. Now let me tell you, I NEVER, and I mean never, buy books, unless they're the freebies on Amazon ;) I always just check out the books I want to read from the library or borrow them from friends that have the book. And yes all of my friends are avid readers so that have these books. That being said, I bought this one. I just couldn't wait to get to the end once I started reading on Wattpad. It was a terrific book and I loved it. It was hilarious and cute and just oodles (sorry for the word choice but I really wanted to say it, come on it's a great word) of fun. I don't want to give away the story though, so just know that you should give it a chance. It is a good, clean romance, also somewhat of a comedy, for young people. Actually I think older people would like it too. Now come on, give it a chance... I know you want to....
i cannot express into words how much i enjoyed reading this book! This was one of my first reads on wattpad and i remember loving it. I'm so glad its being published and i can't wait till i'm able to buy a copy (:
I love this book I have re read it so many times it is amazing I have followed this author from the beginning (badass veteran) I can wait to support her by purchasing this book :)
This book was amazing! Oh my Lord I'm in love Danny, Zachias, and Demetrius! They make me laugh like no other, especially the time when Zac called Danny. I just... Loooool.
When I first read this book, I found the character really intriguing since Anna is a rebellious and hilarious, but also really witty and smart in school. So when Anna accidentally entered a competitions where 15 princesses came to win the affection of the Prince and become the next queen thinking it was a clothing store, I knew this was going to be a funny story and a good book. I also wanted to add that this book seems really similar to The Selection series, since in that series, the main character America Singer entered a competition with 35 other girls who are trying to win the prince's heart or become the next queen. Though America at first wasn’t interested in the prince or becoming queen, she was kind of forced into the competition and also needed the money that the competition gave, but over time she grew interested into the prince and eventually fell in love with him. Anyway, getting back to the other book, When Anna realized where she was and insisted that she live, but the prince already grew fond of her and asked his dad to find a way for her to stay, so the King did, telling her that she can’t live because the media can’t know. SO now Anna is some what part of the competition, but tries her best to stay out of it and not get interested in the prince. One thing that pretty different from this book and The Selection series, is the King. For the Selection series, the king was cruel and hated America and wanted her to get kicked out of the competition, her was a terrible king who wanted his people to be separated into groups. In this book, this book, the king believed that Anna is amazing and is fit to be the next queen, he is a happy king and seems more loved by his people than the other king. What i really love about this book is that Anna is so clever and witty and always knows what to say to defend herself and other she cares about, like her two best friends Missy and Danny, and also her mom. I really do believe other will be interested in reading this book and also fall in love with the characters.
Anna is definitely not a fan of rules. In fact, if she can pull a prank and break some rules that is when she is having the most fun. This Montana girl has pulled more pranks in her high school career than her principal can count but still seems to maintain a flawless grade point average. So, when Anna is yet again suspended she finds herself bored and listening to the radio. Anna tunes in just in time to enter a contest and wins a trip to another country. Since she is suspended what better way to use her time than to travel to a far off place. Unfortunately when she arrives it’s a bit less exciting than she thought and while trying to shop she is mistaken for one of the 15 young ladies in a competition for the Prince’s hand in marriage. While Anna is trying to explain the mistake she makes waves with her very unroyal behavior and outspoken ways. This makes the prince even more intrigued. But, when Anna meets the prince she realizes that he is the last person she wants to be around and tries all she can to stay away from him. The only problem is he is as stubborn as she is and will try anything to get close to this feisty girl from Montana.
I adored this book. I have read Kiera Cass’s Selection series and this is a bit reminiscent of that. Though I do feel that the heroine of Anna is more entertaining and fun. You can see immediately why the people around her love her compassion and her heart. Her character is only one of the many fantastic characters. Zach is definitely a good opposite to her. He is also the character you see the most change out of. It is fun to see him change and evolve to a great leading man. We can’t leave out the friends of them. Missy, Danny and Dem are all memorable and adorable. You can’t help but laugh out loud with some of the shenanigans they all get into. This really was a fun love story with lots of swoon-worthy moments and laugh out loud pranks. Overall, I would whole-heartedly recommend this book as a refreshing read that will brighten your day and wish you’d have your one night with a prince.
Red is absolutely hilarious. She's a trouble maker because she gets bored. She has an amazing memory, so school is easy for her, too easy. She pulls pranks, and ended up getting suspended. During her suspension, Red ends up winning a trip to another country. A country that's holding a competition for 15 girls of royal bloodlines to be with the prince. She gets mixed up with the girls, and is taken to the castle.
Red is willing to fight and avoid getting attached to the prince. She's very friendly with the staff. She's happy to help them and treats them as an equal.
Dem, Red's guard, has already gotten his butt kicked by her. He's like a child at heart and becomes Red's older brother, at heart. Dem is also the Prince's best friend.
The Prince can be arrogant, but he's not used to people standing up against him. Red does this. She pushes his buttons, and he does the same to her. They embarrass and have fun with each other.
A lot happens while Red is there. It brings her, the Prince, his friends, and his family closer together.
This was actually one of the first books I ever finished on Wattpad. Seeing it being published is like seeing a child go off to college... or at least what I would think it would feel like. I don't intend on knowing what that feels like for a very long time.
Anyways...
This book is the epitome of Insta-Love. The romance was well done, though, and was actually quite adorable. It has very few lags in the story telling, and it did have a few things u didn't expect. This book got me hooked on the author's work. Also, that prank was very clever! I intend on using it sometime.
If you don't like romance, this isn't the book for you. That's what it's built on, and it is a well done romance, but romance none the less.
I just started reading this book on Wattpad and I couldn't get enough! I laughed so hard during the first 20 chapters, I had to keep it down! When I got to the last chapter I was saying NO, and I went straight away to amazon and bought the kindle version of the book as well as the wedding book! It keeps getting better! If you want a good laugh and a good story y'all need to read this book and enjoy!!!
One of the best and first books I've read on wattpad. So good in fact that I read it over and over again. (Like, five times? Six?) You just can't get enough of Demetrius and Danny boy (*≧∀≦)ゞ they're absolutely hilarious! Not to mention the main protagonist is totally kickass (literally) and completely likeable.
This is one of the best books written. defiantly in my top 3:). I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS STORY!!!!!!!!!! this book was one of the firsts books i read on wattpad and I'm very glad that i did^.^. i recommend anyone thats looking for a book to read, then, you should give this book a go. I wont give any of the book away, but you should READ this book. :))))))))))
I first read this story on Wattpad. When I found out that it had been published I had to get it. It has just the right amount of hilarity, seriousness and romance to make you go from melting to laughing to wanting to hit someone (lol). I recommend this book to anyone who likes a modern day romance with a twist.
Well hell, this was fun. I'm sure the producers read your book and thought to create their show. I loved the story. It was a bit young, but then, you would not be able to get the pranks the same way, would you. It was a fun read.
Since i've read this orginally on Wattpad it is great to see that T.M. Mendes has come so far i have enjoyed, loved and yes cried reding the one on Wattpad this story so far and hope that she continue to write more and more and had hope to read it again this time on an actual paper back book.
This book was so poorly written that I couldn't get past page 3. It reads like it was written by a ten year old who should have paid much closer attention in English class.
DNF I read this hoping for some sort of The Selection-esque fun. It was not what I was looking for. All the characters were insufferable, especially the main character Anna who is not only incredibly arrogant, rude, and seems to be amazing at anything she attempts, but also is encouraged/adored by everyone in this book because she is 'not like other girls'. The plot was poor, unrealistic, and reminded me of a dream sequence since nothing made any sense and Anna got away with everything. It's been a while since I read this so I don't remember all the details - and thank god for that. I ended up stopping about 75% of the way through when I realised there was no character development going on and the book as a whole was not going to improve. Do not trust the description of this book. It is NOT worth your time.
I'm impressed - this is officially the worst thing i have read this year. I dont remember any good or at least readable book to ever come out of Wattpad, but ONwtP is the worst of them all. I have no idea how old was author when she wrote it, but i imagine not older than 10.
I still mess up tenses in English a lot, but grom the very first page i knew that story has never been edited, or even beta read... Or just reread by the author at least once after typing the words. It's a damn distaster but makes for hilarious things like:
"He has a greying beard with blue eyes"
(i know that beautiful line by heart now, no need to check with original)
Awful writing, no editing, tenses and punctuation who?, horrible characters - ONwtP has it all! A bad book if i ve ever seen one.
I really enjoyed the book. It was a bit shorter than I would have liked, but it read really well and didn't lose my attention like a lot of other wordy books do. I really liked the two main characters and how they interacted with one another. I was mainly looking for a 'Prince and Me' vibe book and this was exactly what I was looking for. Too bad it is over.
