"Every night we participate in the most profound mysteries, moving from one dimension experience to another, losing our sense of self and finding it again, and yet we take it for granted." -Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche

Years ago after I finished reading Petir and found out that the fifth instalment would be titled as "Gelombang" with Alfa as the main character, there was this big curiosity in my mind; about what the book would be all about and how the character would be. I thought Gelombang would be a

The first half of the book was sooooo boring that I almost close it right away. But then I remembered that it's the fifth book. One more, and we're done.

But, surprisingly, the rest of the book is fascinating. THIS IS the Supernova I was looking for!

I'm ready for the last book. Please don't let me down, Dee.

Reading this book is like being taken into intellectual journey. Every phase of Alif's life- from Sianjur Mula Mula, to America and lastly Tibet- is very rich in terms of cultural knowledge, i got new information every time i turned the page, and that's what make this book really intriguing :). The only reason i gave 4 out of 5 for Gelombang while i gave 5 out of 5 for Partikel is the theme brought on the conversations, i like Partikel more since it brings the issue of religion vs science, which ...more

Everybody's back. I repeat, EVERYBODY'S BACK.

After having a minor heartbreaking moment in Partikel (for its poor story, sorry), Gelombang heals me. It's just a personal taste maybe, but the background Dee took for this Supernova is interesting, much better than Partikel. And the good news is, everyone is back. It was opened with the story of Gio, that gorgeous man, and I found Ishtar and Diva flew back to Supernova. Bodhi was even mentioned once.

Though Dee lost her poetic lines, the ones I've

Of all the Supernova series, I think Gelombang has the strongest plot and most consistent story line. The development of the main character, Alfa, flows perfectly without a flaw. It reveals bits of connection with the previous books but I still have a lot of questions and, no doubt, I have a very high expectation to the sixth, which is also the concluding series. This fifth book does not only give us a depth of scientific knowledge on specific issue like each former series (this one is on the is ...more

Favoritos!! Sebelum masuk ke IEP tentu saja..

Alfa Sagala so damn savage. And maybe the most cool Harbinger ever(?). I hate how he broke Nicky's heart because it broke mine as well, and how I surprised that very last time I had my heart broken while reading books is when I red Harry Potter.

This is my first time reading Dee Lestari's writing and fall in love with it. She makes us drawn into the book and wanted to continue reading it. Her imaginations and words are amazing. Can I say that she is the J.K. Rowling Indonesian version? Her word choice is not for children though. Favorite quotes of this book is when she explained how death is actually when someone forgets about him/herself. ...more

I always like a story about dream.
I wish I could have a skill to wake up in my own dream because I sleep a lot. Hahaha... Once I did it but I don't know how.
Saya menikmati buku ini seperti Partikel. Even I don't know which one is the first place in my heart.
Ga sabar mau lanjut Intelegensi Embun Pagi.

Another Supernova Series that brought the Indonesia tribe culture.
Again, supporting character that potentially become the main character's love interest has left unrequited.
I know that the series is not about cliche love story, and yes, it is what happening in real life. Good Job, Dee

got this book yesterday, one day ahead of the born day, which is today.
read this book for almost 8 hours, finished by almost 3a.m

as always, i love supernova series as they never disappointed me, or should i say that the writer, Dee, never did. The first 15 pages reminded me of the first episode of Supernova, and the remaining one reminded me of every character that has made the journey so far. Everyone from the first till now, and i hope when i write this review, i don't give you all the spoiler

I just want to make a fair judgement. Well i read some negative comments. but i have to confess Dee gave a good hard work. We can see from the details she gave, it can be clearly seen that info cant be leaked out easily. I was amazed by the Oneironautics details. it is not easy to handle and she proved that she is incredibly smart and passionate!
and about 'unnecessary figures' that people said such as Nicky, i just want to say, we still have one more "intelegensi embun pagi" can't you try for be

It was a wild ride. I actually quite fond of Alfa and how he's grown from a geek child into a dashing, genius workaholic (still a geek, I suppose, a handsome one though). The plot itself was enjoyable, although a bit tad boring for me. It's kinda predictable. But since this is the 5th book and the author is trying to connect the dots between the books, I suppose it's okay.

The humor though... Thomas Alfa Edison, Albert Einstein and Sir Isaac Newton. It's so pitiful and funny at the same time. I a

I read the book without any expectation, so i dont feel disappointed as people's said on forum discussion. at beginning, i felt unfamiliar with background of Alfa, who born and raised in Batak land. i dont read many books which telling about Batak culture so Gelombang gave a lot of new information about their culture and cosmology. The part when Alfa moving to US, his life as illegal immigrant is one of the most interesting story. Story about poor man who hardly struggle to change his fate and s ...more

Seriously, Supernova should be considered as one of Indonesian book's masterpiece.
Dee's giving me the impression like I was reading the work of a world-class author.
This fifth installment revealed so much--explicitly--about the things i've been questioning on the former four books.
Now, we got the explanation about Harbingers (a.k.a our main cast a.k.a Akar, Petir, Partikel, Gelombang and who knows who else), Infiltrants (a.k.a the helper), and Sarvaras (a.k.a the bad guy).

That's exactly what I felt when I was reading this. The setting (North Sumatra) and the language (Bahasa Indonesia Medan) cured my homesickness a bit.

However, the storyline itself is not as mind-blowing as I expected. True that Dee is a good writer and she describes things very well, but this is one draggy novel. Some parts are "Kok gampang banget sih sepertinya?" While the other parts are "Buset, dibikin susah banget!" I agree with some other reviews that stated this novel is such a best-s

I found Gelombang is such a bridge to connect the previous stories with the actual end, instead of answering questions we got left from the other books through another perspective of another character. It did answering a few questions and i know dee lestari keeping something bigger in the last book. I love the first part, when the story still running around one particular culture of ethnic and i always find it amazing to read how well dee lestari wrote it and "weaving" it in her story.

I AM IN LOVE WITH ALFA SAGALA, as the starters.
I felt kind of scared a little bit at first when I read the part when his dreams are trying to kill him, when he is out of breath, and the part about Si Jaga Portibi.
But as the story went by, everything started to make sense and as usual, Dee amazed me with all her plot twist and unexpected characters, that make all this books from this series somehow connected.
The history of Batak amazed me so much though.
Nicky Evans was nice, but seriously though

Yay! finally i done with Alfa's story. It feels like he's the key of this story. it took a long journey for him to finally remember his faith. He's super cool character (beside bodhi* i adore bodhi quite lot) to imagine he's working for Wallstreet, i even dreaming if i were him. IT WAS GREAT! the struggling quite annoyed me, how's the 'jaga portibi' haunted him in every sleep. It's mad! If i were him, must be super frustrated and crazy, apart with Alfa who's getting more genius on his lack of sl ...more
