Curse of the Alpha: Episodes 3 & 4

Rate this book
Special Two-Episode Bundle!

Ainsley Connor had the perfect life - a successful real estate career in Manhattan and her books to keep her company. Best of all, she was far away from the unusual college town where she grew up. Until a tragic accident forced her back to Tarker’s Hollow, and she found herself caught up in a steamy web of shifters and magic, locked in a power struggle for control of the pack she left behind.

˃˃˃ Step back into Ainsley's magical world of shifters and romance...

In Episode 3, Ainsley must retaliate after a shocking betrayal. Information from her past helps her to see things in a new light. But how will she react when she receives a ghostly visitor?

In Episode 4, Ainsley makes a plan to leave Tarker’s Hollow, but ends up running for her life. Will she manage to escape in time to use what she has learned to shape her future?

˃˃˃ A continuing story...

Curse of the Alpha: Episodes 3 & 4 are part of the Curse of the Alpha serial that will be told in six episodes, much like a TV show. It tells the story of Ainsley Connor, a female werewolf, and her struggle to come to terms with her past, and accept her true nature and her role in the future of the pack. It contains strong sexual elements, and is NOT intended for readers under the age of 18.

Curse of the Alpha: Episodes 3 & 4 by Tasha Black
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance
3 Stars

While episodes 3 & 4 were somewhat better than 1 & 2, I still have a few problems with it.

1. Sometimes the descriptions get a bit long winded.
2. Really over the repetitiveness of her fathers books.
3. A couple of errors.
4. The Heroine.

"Ainsley was feeling out of control. It was an unfamiliar feeling and not one that she liked."

I don't know how this could be an 'unfamiliar' feeling. Ainsley seems to always be out of control, confused and flat out weird.
She is so out of touch with herself it is beyond annoying. She refuses to even try to get to know anything about herself.
Talk about being in denial, this girl takes the cake, ate it, threw it up and flushed it!
She rants and raves.
Lies about the most ridiculous things.
Then sticks her head in the sand and hopes no one kicks her in the ass.

I have read the 1st 3 books of Tasha Black's 300 Moons series ( published in 2016) and 'Reconstructed', the 1st book in her Building a Hero series ( published in 2015).

I loved them and will continue to read them.

Curse of the Alpha was published in 2014. There are a lot of pluses for this story, but you can really see the growth of the writer in her other books.
In fact, you can even see her ability to grow in these episodes. Each one is slightly better than the last.

I do like this series. It just hasn't wowed me and I am glad it is not the first books I read of this author.

Ok honestly, I can't remember where or how I got this episode. Again, I'm not breaking this book down for you or giving out spoilers but geez Ainsley has to be bout crazy to want to turn her back on everything in Tarker's Hollow. I know I'd trade places with her in a New York minute. I will warn you though, once you start reading these book's, you won't be able to put them down until you've consumed everything Miss Black has written. I know from experience! But hey if you don't want to read an awesome, sitting on the edge of your seat series then this isn't the author for you.

This review is for episodes 1-6. This is a serial about werewolves. I had wanted something quick and for it still to have a good storyline. This surprisingly did have a good story I just did not fall in love with it until episodes 4-6. In the beginning of this story the heroine was just annoying. I mean she was just stupid about certain things. However, episodes 4-6 were really good. I did not see the ending coming which I love. I read so many books so it is fun for me to be surprised.

Two Down, One to Go

I am enjoying this series by Tasha Black . It has everything you expect from a paranormal romance/adventure. The characters come alive as the story weaves around a woman who desperately wants to deny here shifter heritage, yet must face her heart and her responsibility. I can't wait to start the last installment to this drama.

This is the second book in the Tarker’s Hollow series. They do need to be read in the order of release, as this is a continuing serial.

Do yourself a favor... buy all six episodes in advance. Once you start, you won't want to stop.

I absolutely love this serial story. I want to shake Ainsley, but I think by the end of episode four she may be seeing her own folly. Time will tell. What I can tell you is that when I got to the end of episode four, I was hunting for the next audiobook! I’m looking forward to what will happen next and I’m excited that there are so many more books already released in this series.

There are so many wonderful characters to be explored further. More than werewolves inhabit Tarker’s Hollow and this has brought up so many questions.

The twists and turns to the story kept me on my toes! I can’t wait to see what else will happen.

Narration: I love listening to Addison Spear. She does a wonderful job of voicing the different characters and bringing the drama to life.

Note: while I was given this book as a gifted audiobook copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

I jumped on this audiobook as soon as I was finished with the episodes 1 & 2 bundle.

In episode 3 we start where episode 2 left off. We meet Grace Kwon-Cortez, Ainsley's best friend, and are introduced to another secret to Tarker's Hollow; witchcraft! We learn a bit about Ainsling's family and we see the pack in action. Ainsley is trying desperately to get out of Tarker's Hollow which inspires her to give away the family things. She is met with hilarious advice and angry glares.

There is a lesbian sex scene that was very awkward for me, but well written in my opinion.

Episode 4 is mostly Ainsling following through with her plan of finding an Alpha for the pack. She cleans up what remains of the house and is working on getting herself ready for the big deal. We learn more about the traumatic event that kept her away from shifting and it ends with a pretty big cliffhanger.

I grabbed onto the next audiobook as soon as this one finished. Honestly, I knew where it was going with the main big baddie of this season, but the story is still enjoyable enough to continue through with it.

I was gifted this book by a friend. This book, following book 1&2 is a real page turner. I could not put it down and the cliffhanger in the end made me yell out loud: Oh Come On! in sheer frustration because it was getting so good. Tasha Black knows how to make us get into her stories and frustrates me, in a great way, to no end when I realize the book is finished and I just have to get the next book of the series. I had a great time reading this book. I was easily fooled into thinking who the bad guy in the story was and it was awesome to find out that I was wrong all along. If you love awesome shifter stories, with magick, suspence, intrigue, awesome sex scenes and characters you just want to cuddle with, this book is for you. But beware, there are many surprises in this book and you will not regret one bit of your reading.

Ainsley Connor has so many questions and the people who can answer them are dead. She and friends try to call her parents spirits to them but another ghost from Ainsley's past arrives instead. How will she handle everything that is happening around her? Ainsley needs to choose a mate who will be the next pack Alpha. She doesn't want to stay in Tarker's Hollow, she has a successful career in Manhattan and she plan's to return to her life. The only way to get what she wants and fulfill her duty is to pick a man she doesn't have feelings for so she can leave. Picking the a mate may be a mistake but she has to try so the pack can survive. What will Ainsley do? I loved this book. It is a must read.

Truthfully I did not read this

I could not finish first two episodes. I could not stand the lead characters. Especially how the spoiled brat treated her parents. Plot outline was not believable. No way would she be ignorant of her heritage, unprepared, her father was alpha, come on. Not like she was adopted.
Rated it out of respect for her youthful fried and some supporting characters.
I had purchased this and downloaded other set after reading one of author latest books.
Now remember why I had not read one of her books in a long time.
Have to admit she is MUCH improved from her early work.
Just going to ignore any books but last ones.

I am now deep into the series where I can't stop myself from reading it. It didn't even matter that at the end of the book, brought me right back to purchasing the next book Episode 5 & 6. All I need to know is, when will Ainsley choose an Alpha, when will she become the she-wolf she is meant to be, and when will she embace the town she grew up in. This book was full of mystery, sex, love, danger and humor. I love this series and love finding a new author to place on my list of must read by.

Great Paranormal Series! The Episodes 3 and 4 continue where the last episode ended. This was an amazing, steamy and suspenseful journey. Again, these episodes ended with a cliffhanger, and now I can't wait for the last episodes in the Series, to know what happens next! The narration was well done, and easy to listen. I enjoyed my listening. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.

That's crazy that her parents never told her the truth just kept putting it off until now it's 2 late. I'm glad that she found out the truth about what happened 2 her boyfriend that died 4 no reason. That damn cop should b punished severely after what he did after her dad said no. Eric came 2 realize that in a way things changed thinking about the past like he was. The cave was unique.

You must read episodes 1 & 2 first to really appreciate 3 & 4. Great storyline and characters, all will keep your attention to the end, making you want more. Shape shifters who are sexy, hot and strong willed. Yes sex included so not for anyone under age. I will be reading all books written by Tasha Black this year (2020) that's how much I enjoyed this series!

Holy Crazytown! I need Episodes 5 & 6 immediately!!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. May contain some spoilers.

This book starts where the last left off. Ainsley just faced off against Julian. There is no sign of him anywhere. Ainsley proceeds to clean out her family home. Many people come through the house and slowly items are removed. I can't figure out Ainsley's hesitation to consider Erik for Alpha other than perhaps she feels she will fall in love with him and want to stay but she refuses to consider her parents' wishes. On top of all the male suitors that she has to fend off it turns out that women are also candidates. She has a very lose encounter of the lesbian kind and boy is it HOT!!

Ultimately Ainsley decides to make Clive the sheriff the Alpha. When she makes the decision she invites him over for dinner. Everything is extremely awkward between them. When they finally get to her bedroom she decides she isn't quite ready and begins to ask him questions to get to know him. Then the truth comes out.

I didn't know why but I just wasn't interested in Clive's character during the first 2 parts of the story. Now I do. I have to say, I didn't suspect him but I knew it couldn't have been Ainsley. I hope that Ainsley whoops his butt more than she does.

Again Erik becomes her savior. Episode 4 ends with Ainsley and Erik preparing to take on a number of individuals.

Tasha Black is extremely talented in keeping you in the story. Not to mention she is very good at writing the juicy scenes. I absolutely cannot wait to read the final installments. All I have to say is that Ainsley better shape up and realize she is bad to the bone and that Erik is the only one for her. #TeamErik

EPISODE 3:
The one thing about Eric that we must remember is he will always have a hard-on for Ainsley even though she's kinda too stupid to see it right now, and he's caring, "he ripped the quilt off the bed and lowered her gently to the sheet. "I'll buy you new sheets. Just lie down and try not to move." (This is a non-sexual thing FYI) I was really starting to get annoyed with this Cressida b**** like seriously who the heck did she think she was? "she's not choosing anything. In case you didn't notice, she's emptying the house and getting the hell out of dodge!" Erik lifted Cressida off his lap and unceremoniously deposited her back on the sofa." That was a good boy Erik I would have cut your nuts off if you had done anything else."
EPISODE 4:
This time around it was Erik's nuts I wanted to so badly cut off and seriously who the hell does this Cressida b**** think she is!?!?! "He wanted to eff me so back his c*** was the size of my arm before I even touched him," she whispered in AInsley's ear. Ainsley's breath caught she could smell Erik on Cressida." You did a no-no in my book Erik you are seriously in the dog house, and if I have to push your wolfy-a** there I will. Clive he came across as a good guy and after I put Erik in the doghouse I kinda was routing for Clive, "Clive, I don't have much in the house..." That's fine was can just eff. But I wish I'd eaten before I came over. "...but I do have a couple of rib eyes from the Co-op that I can cook, and a salad. Does that sound okay?" Oh Ainsley that's like asking a monkey if he wants a banana. It was a lot to digest in this book but I enjoyed it.

I received a copy of Curse of the Alpha as a gift in exchange for an honest review. Tasha Black did it again! She captivated me from the first chapter. Episode 3 & 4 of Curse of the Alpha take up easily where Episode 2 ended. It’s much faster paced then the first two episodes with plenty of plot twists and turns! Without giving too much away, the continuation of the saga you learn more about Tarker's Hollow and the residents. Ainsley Connor also learns that she is not only wolf but something else! She realizes there is so much that she didn't know about her parents as well as herself. Ainsley is betrayed by Julian the professor, realizes she's in love with Erik, her true mate, and then there is Clive, and is he friend or foe? She also finds out a shocking revelation from the ghost of Brian. Ainsley finally decides to sell her parents' house as well as pick a mate. However, it’s not that simple. She learns things from her past that will change everything. Is she going to pick the one that she thinks is the safe bet or follow her heart? Is Clive nice or has he changed? Will Eric step aside and watch Ainsley choose another? Does she think she can just pick a mate and go back to the NY? Another cliffhanger!! I can't wait to read the remainder of this series!

As I started my first episode I realized I didn't want to stop reading as I had planned. Ms. Black had me hooked and there was no way I was putting this book down. Each page that she wrote seemed to free - flowing page by page.
Episode 3
Ainsley has to pick an Alpha but who?
She is always thinking about Erik Jensen but she shouldn't because Erik keeps telling her to pick Clive Warren as Alpha. Then things start to happen that didn't make scene to her , it was then that Grace told her, her mom was a witch. Ainsley Conner could be a witch.... Witches are real....Warlocks were real....WELL Wolves Are Real Why Not...
Episode 4
Clive , Clive , Clive should I be with Clive? Should he be Alpha? Should I be his Mate? All I hear pick Clive to be Alpha.
I mean he is the sheriff and he's honorable, but can I love him.. Well he coming over tonight I guess I will know then? I mean how can it hurt ? Right? Omg Clive's in my kitchen making dinner, Can you believe it he's making me steaks, that so GREAT.....Then WHY can't I stop thinking about Erik.... What do I do now? I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review.

After a rocky start we join Ainsley as she finds out that her Mr Magie is more then she thinks he is. Calling in her old BFF, now police officer, she's still reluctant to handle things as she should. during their talk it becomes more clear there are a lot of things she's unaware of. Whether this is a good thing or a bad thing...
As she learns a bit more about her parents she starts to understand things aren't as easy as she thought they would be. Thinking she's making the right move, she reaches out to Clive. Her friendly neighborhood ghost stops her just in time with revelations about her past and what Clive's role was. As a knight in shining armor Eric show up just in time to rescue her but are they safe from Clive and his cronies?

Once more a nice installment into this series, well written and easy to read. If you like a book that keeps you on your toes with anticipation, this is the series to follow. You have to read the prior installments before digging into this one, cliffhanger galore!!

Ainsley has just found out there's not just werewolves in her small home town but there's also witches and warlocks. Julian is a warlock and he wants something from her house. The town is pressuring her to stay and she just wants to run away and go back to the life she has in New York.

Omg this book keeps building and building. The cliffhangers keep you wanting more. Ainsley is still innocent and gullible but she's slowly learning. I am dreading her making a huge mistake with Clive. She started the lie in the first book why doesn't she just end it? But these things have to follow their course in the story and of course they do. I can't wait to find out what happens, and hopefully she realises she needs to accept herself the way she is.

I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

The Second part of the Curse of the alpha was just as exciting and attention grabbing as the part 1. I still hated the cliff hanger at the end and just wished this entire set was 1 book (which it is now a box set).. So many twists and turns.. is Jullian really a bad evil warlock, Is Clive nice and thoughtful and has he changed his ways.... Is Eric really willing to step aside and let some other wolf get the woman he wants. And is she really silly enough to think she can just pick someone and leave and go back to the life in the city she left!!!.. So many questions to answer that you just keep reading hoping to find out all the answers. I really enjoyed reading this story and was very happy I already had the next part so I didn't have to wait for all the answers!

Curse of the Alpha: Episodes 3 & 4: A Tarker's Hollow Serial (Curse of the Alpha Box-Set Book 2) by Tasha Black is a riveting paranormal book. It picks up where Episode 2 ended with Ainsley attempting to shift into her wolf to attack Julian Magie who had betrayed her.

It kept my attention from start to finish. I gave it five stars.

Ainsley wants to sell her parent's house and to leave the pack behind forever.

The wolves aren’t the strangest part of Tarker’s Hollow. There are shifters, ghosts, witches and warlocks.

The toughest wolf Ainsley must face is her own.

There are mature sexual situations in this story. It ends with a cliffhanger.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I am loving where this story is going and cannot wait for the next episodes! Ainsley Connor's adventures continue in her home town of Tarker's Hollow and in her opinion she just can't get out fast enough. She's still torn between her obligations to the pack and fighting her intense attraction towards the incredibly hot Erik. Several twists and turns take place in these episodes of the story that come out of nowhere and leave Ainsley completely caught off guard. Episode four ends on one heck of a cliffhanger and I must know what happens immediately!

I'm totally fascinated with the way the author's creative ability to write about paranormal characters, her development of every character into believable people. Vols 1 to 4 has some unexpected episodes, a touch of nowadays' personality traits, which I hope will change in the continuing episodes. The entire series must be read in order to experience with the main characters' intriguing journey!
