This is the second book in Eva Devon’s Duke’s Club series and what a deliciously wicked treat is was! Lots of ribald humour and sinfully sexy romance.

How I imagine Jack…
“I’m am not an archeological site, my lady. No matter how deep you dig, there is no hidden treasure to be found.”

Jack is just the sort of hero I have a weakness for…a rogue with a vulnerable side. His father had constantly instilled in Jack the belief that he would never be anything but a failure. This belief is so deep-rooted th

"A wife will spy upon her husband" The first line in Eva Devon's new book caught me and never let go. Sometimes when I do a review I have trouble putting in to words how much I really liked the book. In this case I have no problem saying I Loved this book from the first sentence to the last. Her writing is stunningly descriptive, deeply emotional and hystericallly funny. I have not laughed this much reading a book in a long time. Her characters are intelligent, captivating and funny as hell!!! I ...more

MEH. I WAS QUITE DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS ONE. AFTER READING THREE STORIES OF THIS SERIES, I REALIZED HOW REPETITIVE THE AUTHOR'S PLOTS WERE. Hero meets heroine, some form of seduction occurs...and then it's always the hero who gets cold feet or is tied down by the ghosts of his past, leaving the heroine tattered before he finally mans up to do the right thing.

OUR HERO was someone I was intrigued with when he was introduced and frankly I read this series backwards so I assumed Jack to be quite the
This was one of those stories I can honestly say I liked each character from start to finish. Even the eccentric and peculiar, secondary ones. Our hero Jack was indeed a rake, not only by description but by deeds and actions. So much so that he was borderline jerkish and petulant but funny thing is that he was also charming and witty. And he was ok with his character, or rather lack of, which in turn gave him an interesting personality.

“’There. Now, isn't that civilized?’
He was tempted to poin

Originally given 4.5 hearts at Rookie Romance.

This is a charming, funny and downright romantic story from Eva Devon and the latest in the Duke's Club series.

Cordelia is a wonderfully refreshing and unconventional heroine. She's forthright and honest, with a sharp sense of humour. She's practical and wants to be free to pursue her work, but finds herself encumbered by an absentee husband. She goes to London to seek an annulment, but finds her plan soon goes awry when she meets her husband. I love

I read this in a day! Great romance for Cordella and Jack, who were married by proxy as children & had never lived on the same continent, let alone met each other. Cordella comes to London to get an annulment, and needless to say they are immediately attracted to each other, and Jack doesn't want her to go back to the continent. Besides the steamy scenes and the obvious love for each other, they each don't feel that they are good enough for the other. Cordy is actually the stronger personali ...more

I want to give this book a 4 star rating but the ending really ruined it for me. I loved the book untill the sudden radical change in Jack suddenly all of his past deamons are gone the just like that. Its a nice idea that people change the way they think about things in a split secound but it was just too much for my personal taste.

I enjoyed reading "Dreaming of a Duke", it has the type of heroine and hero that I can relate to. It had a perfect combination of passion, romance, love and some comedic moments. I can't wait for the next book in this series!

An archaeologist duchess.

From that day forward, his father blamed Jack for his heir's death and criticised him to such a degree that he just accepted that he was useless and would never be a good duke. So, from the moment of his f

Dreaming of the Duke by Eva Devon
The Duke's Club Series Book Two
Jack Eversleigh, Duke of Hunt knows that he is not now, nor ever will be a good man. Or a good duke. So he lives a life of debauchery. An empty life. A life he feels he deserves. And no woman who he was strapped to as a child is going to change him into anything more than he is.

Cordelia Eversleigh, Duchess of Hunt has come to London to get an annulment and head back to the love of her life...digging for long buried treasures in far

The premise of the story was cute. I wish they had done a bit more with Cordelia's story, but I like that they made her a strong character. However, I really struggled with the typos and incorrectly used words. For example, twice at the end of Chapter 29, "sink" was used when "sync" should have been used. In Chapter 30, "bare" was used when "bear" should have been used. Where the heck was the copy editor?!?!?! I thought I could look past a few incorrect uses of to, too, and two, but the other on ...more

Entertaining and engaging, this story has some amusing moments. The Duchess tries to track her wayward, unsuspecting husband down to try to get an annulment, but that's before they actually meet. She's feisty and strong, he seems flighty, but has many redeeming qualities that are as hidden in his persona as the artifacts she wants to uncover.

Great book

Really enjoyed reading this book well written good characters well defined and the hero I didn’t like but you knew there was sadness in his heart I really enjoyed the strong character of the heroine. When you love someone you don’t give up on them. You will enjoy the book.

Sweet romance with a sense of humor

Equal parts sweet and funny. The banter between Jack and Charles was especially funny. It took Jack a bit to come around which seemed a bit overdone maybe but the heroes always get there in the end. :)

I couldn't finish it simply because the story seemed to drag out from chapter 1-32 and I couldn't do it anymore I kept hoping for some sort of excitement but if there's not any within that small of a time frame with as many grammar errors then I couldn't see going any further

Great start and disappointing end

I don't know why but the ending disappointed me so much. There was no apology. Nothing. I believe deserved forgiveness but hell, make him actually work for it and prove it.

I can't write a book so

I can't say this wasn't good but it wasn't as good as the first one, that was excellent. I wasn't happy with Jack he wasn't what he was in the first book. I really like Cory a lot.

I really enjoyed the banter between the protagonists. I wanted to see more of the previous lead couple. They were very much in the sad background. If there was a small cute moment here and there of them; it would have been amazing.

Wasn't that convinced of their love story but it wasn't all bad.

First 2/3 of the story was good.

Then it became a cliche.

Sorry but did not work for me.
