I'm not sure about this one. The story was interesting and I feel like I've spent a little time living in someone else's glamorous life, but I was pretty frustrated by the heroine's fickleness and not attracted to either hottie she was flirting away with.

Actually, I'm not completely sure whether the tormented yet brilliant art genius or the older, successful, charismatic publisher was supposed to be the love interest. Unfortunately I fear it was the artist - not a popular choice for me as he was

**Work of Art generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.**

Books set in the world of art constantly intrigue me. After seeing the cover and reading the blurb for Work of Art my curiosity bested me. Ruth Clampett delivers a deliciously daring tale. Beautiful and fluid prose perfectly balances the light and the dark of not only the art world, but of the artist’s mind through the sharp lens of an engaging, smart protagonist. The voice of this New Adult contemporary novel, Av

Recommends it for: smart readers who love a sexy story
I stayed up way too late reading this book! The relationship between Ava and Max is to die for. Their turbulent friendship so sweet it will melt your heart, and the sexual tension between them will curl your toes.

The author sets the story in the art world of colorful southern California with an authenticity born of her own experiences there, lending the story a depth and richness I rarely find in this genre. I even found myself googling locations and works of art in the story, because I simply h

"Life is the art of drawing without an eraser." ~ John W. Gardner.

"Work of Art" was a bit of a slow burner to begin with but boy, did it hot up! It was a story that was filled with passion and intrigue and I loved it!

Maxfield Caswell was the pop star of the art world. He was an artist with a bad boy reputation and when I first met him, I was intrigued. I couldn't work him

I love books where the heroes are male sluts and especially if those sluts that are also artists, but Maxwell was a tool. I did not like him and I did not care for the heroine. Her inner dialogue annoyed me. Her whole attitude toward Maxwell was just immature. Also, I hate when authors describe every single item of clothing that the heroine wears. Sometimes I think "ugh, she wore what?" This may work for you. You may love it, but it did not work for me. These are just my thoughts and opinions ab ...more

Work of Art is a fantastic book! Ruth Clampett takes her readers into the world of fine art and shows both the alluring and seedy sides of an industry that is based on aesthetic pleasure.

Ava is a young woman on a mission. She is learning everything she can about the art world so she can take those experiences and turn them into her dream career. What she didn't bargain for is Maxwell Caswell.

Max is a hot commodity on the art scene. He is extremely talented, in demand by both collectors and art

Work of Art by Ruth Clampett...WOW! Nothing like I expected it to be!

I NEED book 2...STAT!!! What is it about eccentric artists?!?! You definitely do not want to miss out on this read.

Work of Art sucked me in right away. Ruth Clampett blew me away with her writing style...So much attention to detail without making the story drag. Ms. Clampett painted a beautiful story and made me feel like I was a part of it. The art shows, the galleries, all of it... I felt I was right there.

Wow, that was heavy. Max has a loud messy mind.It was hard sometimes to accept him. He was frustrating, selfish and just too much.
Ava is truly an angel for keeping up with him.

I wish he gave them a chance and stopped protecting her. He was too focused on his past and clinging to the party thing and the string of girls. He needed to let it go and just ease h

Ruthy, you are an artist and a work of art too. I see the world differently because of you! As in all of Ruth’s stories, some form of art is always represented in addition to her written words. I LOVED this book!! The art world has always been very intriguing to me. While some may think it's "boring," Work of Art is ANYTHING but.

Ruth Clampett has a way of keeping the reader interested; Painting a picture, if you will, by her fascinating characters and what goes on in their environment.

Ava has been offered an amazing opportunity to write a table book of Maxfield Caswell, one of the most sought after up-and-comers in the art world. She was specifically requested by the artist, after havi

Talk about sexual tension! If I was Ava, I would have jumped Max and Jonathan. Ava was a strong, independent character that was easy to relate to. I found myself just as confused with Max's behavior and she was. I was pulled in from the beginning and can't wait for the next book to see what happens next.

The Inspiration by Ruth Clampett The Inspiration by Ruth Clampett is a romantic tragedy, and it is amazing. I really love these characters. Clampett has done a wonderful job of showing both sides of this story, Ava, who is broken and refusing to be a victim, and poor Max, who has absolutely no control over his actions. Even Jonathan is a bit suspect, with being early forties, handsome, successful, yet unattached. Whatever will Ava do? I just bought the rest of the series because I can not wait t ...more
