Young readers are encouraged to examine the photographs in this concept book so that they can identify various patterns in school-related objects such as books or the clothing students are wearing. There are also examples of things that don't form a pattern so readers can distinguish what a pattern is. I like the idea behind this book, but I wish that the answers to the questions had been included for easy access by young readers. I also like the fact that the book contains words that are a little bit challenging, such as "collage." Some might see that as a detriment, though, since students would struggle with the word.
