One Step More: The Life and Work of Father Joseph C. Martin

Rate this book
A big toe is a seemingly unimportant part of the body. But try to walk without it. Try to have a church service without lights or drive a car without oil... Faith in God does not protect a believer from tradegy. Faith in God only protects a believer from despair. A serious illness or accident can be an awful thing, but it becomes a little less awful when we believe that God will stay with us and help us to endure the pain...

Father Martin was a brilliant, compassionate man. His work in the field of alcoholism is phenominal. I loved reading about his life!

Inspirational! Normally, I would get tired of an author who uses so many superlatives, but they didn't seem out of place in this case.

Must read for anyone who doesn't understand alcoholism as a disease. Father Martin's life and sacrifice for other alcoholics is incredibly inspiring. Love this man and his "chalk talks" too!
