Ryan doesn’t love Brooke the way he thought he should, so he ended their 3-year relationship. His boss, Paul, drags him out for a few beers in the hopes he will get laid. Even though Ryan meets an attractive woman named Drea, there is clearly no chemistry there. Nevertheless, he gives her a lift home and ends up spending the night on the couch while her cousin, Zach, is playing video games.

Ryan and Zach spend time getting to know each other and playing games. Though Ryan is hesitant and confused about the intense feelings growing between them, it’s not long before he has his pants down and is enjoying the best sex of his young life.

This is a sweet and steamy story, not expertly written, but entertaining enough. I would have liked a little more time spent on exploring the friendship between Ryan and Zach, and Ryan’s confusion about his sexuality. Attributing negative characteristics to Brooke made it very easy for Ryan to sever the relationship without a lot of thought. Making her sexy, fun, and appealing would have made Ryan’s conflicts much more difficult to resolve and a much more interesting story.

LOVED IT! A sweet gay-for-you romance that's cute, quick, and free.

“I’m not going to push you but I think you are lying to yourself.”
It was a perfect read to take up an afternoon.
This is not the first book in a series,
no cliffhanger...

Just a sweet boy meets confused boy romance.
With a few steamy moments mixed in.

This one barely kept my interest for the full 80 pages.

The story itself brought absolutely nothing new to the genre; the straight guy meets gay guy and suddenly realizes why his sex life has always been so lackluster / friends-to-lovers trope has been done to DEATH already (and by writers with far more skill and experience). The characters were cardboard cutouts. The plot was utterly predictable. The dialogue was slim and stilted. There was surprisingly little steam for two apparently horny guys, and not even close to enough romance despite the yucky instalove.

I think I'll pass on the rest of the series...

**3.5 More Than I Expected Stars**

A cute, quick read...that was great but could have been better, had it been a longer book. I enjoyed the connection and interactions between the characters...and was left happy by the end.

***3 Stars***

This was a sweet, quick read. Ryan's acceptance of his newly discovered attraction to Zach was a little too quick for my liking, but in the end the two were cute together.

I wanted something quick, easy and a bit steamy and this did the trick...even if not completely believable.

3.4*

Ryan is a 21 year old student that has just broken up with his longtime girlfriend Brooke.
They had been a couple for four years but doing the long distance thing, pretty unsuccessfully for 3 of those years.
The GF is also put down a bit in this story, which I actually prefer didn't happen. It's unnecessary, she doesn't have to have 'bad' qualities for the relationship to fail.
He's not broken up about the break-up and when his ( sort of sleazy ) boss/friend takes him to a bar he meets Drea and ends up on her cousin Zach's couch for the night. ( I did like the twist with the cop.)
Zach and Ryan strike up a friendship and soon it becomes clear to Ryan that Zach wants more than friendship from him.
Ryan is understandably confused, we don't really get too deeply into his head * no, that's not a pun * but we see enough to know he's conflicted about liking Zach and how he makes him feel, and about being label 'gay'.
Now, the problem with shorts is that very few authors can really get all the feelings, emotions and conflicts portrayed in depth.
I wasn't quite sure what drew Zach to Ryan besides his good looks.
That was my issue here, I liked the story, it wasn't angst filled and it wasn't all light fluff but I didn't feel the love the MC's were developing for each other as much I would have liked to.
And the ending is very hopeful, but there are unanswered quetions and it's all very new which makes it more of a HFN than a HEA.

“I don’t mean to sound ignorant but I want to make sure I understand. Do you mean that I could go inside of you instead of you going inside of me?” He hated that he had to ask but this wasn’t something you went into without a clear understanding of what was about to happen.

Yes. This. C.O.M.M.U.N.I.C.A.T.I.O.N. I love that Ms Grace's characters do this without it coming off like they all have Masters in Psychology by way of Oprah. Refreshing!

A fun little book dealing with sexual identity without all the angst.

***Audiobook***Narrated by Narrated By Douglas Dale***As a standalone, I don't think this book did much for me, but this time around I'm going to listen to the whole series and hope it gets better :/

First Read: April 14, 2014
That was some serious GFY instalove! Ryan went from 100% heterosexual who had never even had thoughts about being with a man to bottoming like a porn star in a matter of days. I think I may have whiplash :)

Belens Audio Book Review

Though this has good narration by Douglas Dale, this Gay-For-You short story didn't feel like it was fully developed.

One of the things that bothered me were rapid-fire POV changes that made it a little hard to follow along - even with the different character voices. If I moved my attention from the narration for even a couple of minutes I got lost and had to back-track.

Bottom line: it's a quick listen that I think may have been better if it had been a bit longer.

Meh

What a wonderfully sweet story! Poor sweet, lost Ryan thankfully had the good luck to meet Zach who was just so kind and caring. He couldn't have asked for a better person in helping him figure out all of his confusing feelings. My complaints that took away a star were the fact that we had a scene with no lube, a scene where more than one finger should have been used and no mention of his prostate. ~sigh~ I for one think that we need a sequel for these two. I would love to see Ryan learn more and to watch their relationship evolve.

I would like to acknowledge that I recieved a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Dnf with brief skimming.

Writing isn't the greatest. Female characters are 'high maintenance' 'conceited' 'fake tits begging to be hosed' 'have lots of guy friends'...

There's odd little pov changes along the way.

Ryan went from straight to gay and having full sex in a blink. No hesitation, or real discussion. Oh but not gay...

I've seen a bunch of glowing reviews on books further along in the series, so I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and try a couple more. This was okay, just a little...meh.

I didn't like this book for several reasons. Firstly, I found the writing style to be substandard. A huge number of paragraphs in the book starts with the name of the character directly followed by a verb.
Zach walked
Zach rested
Zach threw
Zach placed
Zach scooted
Zach sat up
Also, there is far more telling than showing going on in the story. Actual lines of dialogue are few and far between. The POV frequently switches from one paragraph to the next, giving me whiplash trying to follow in which character's head I'm currently in.

Secondly, I found the way it dealt with homophobia somewhat offensive in several places in the story.
"He bounced between feelings of disgust for having fucked a dude, to feelings of guilt for feeling disgust when it felt so good, [...]"
Feeling disgust, actual disgust, for touching another human being regardless of gender is to me a dated notion which should not be further cemented. The culturally imposed moral conflict a bi-, pansexual or gay character might experience during a self-discovery phase is much better handled in most other books I've read of the same theme. All of the above makes me a bit sad for this story, because during the first couple of chapters it held potential to be so much better.

I think this is the sweetest gay for you book I ever read.

This is Aria's first book I read and I found this free on amazon a few days ago. It was amazing!
But first I want to mention about characters in the book. Communication. There is so many book that there's no communication!

Ryan broke up with his high school girlfriend because of long distant. So he goes a bar with his friend. Mean while his friend trying to find some girls for both. When they couldn't find any, a girl invited them over to their table. Ryan found a girl named Drea. After a while she drank too much so he decide to get her to her home. When they reach to the door, she invite him to stay the night because there was a police outside the apartment. Also he meets with her cousin Zach. And the actual story started with Zach and Ryan's meeting.
Zach and Ryan strike up a friendship and soon it becomes clear to Ryan that Zach wants more than friendship from him. Is Ryan really gay or is it just a desire to same sex?

So fell in love with the novella but I'm agree that it's so short even thougt it's free. :)

Overall book rating: 3
Audio Book: Douglas Dale - 3
Book Cover: 4 (I love the Black and white and red – not the audio cover!)

This was sweet. I enjoy a GFY every now and then. It’s not often you get them done really well though and that makes a difference. This wasn’t half bad though. Way to fast maybe in my opinion but still ...good. It’s too short for much more anyhow. Though when I figured out that book two is also about these boys I have to say I wondered why it had to have a rushed feel in the first instalment.

I really liked the MC's and how they get to know each other, it's the transition between "I'm not gay too I'm not scared/unsure of this at all just do it" thing I felt a little ....I don't know.

Let see what book two holds shall we?

3.5 stars - I also read Aria Grace's short story, His Undoing and I would say that this piece here reads more "gay for you" than her other piece. I think this is because in this story, both the physical and emotional aspects of the relationship occur in a very short time span, whereas with His Undoing the emotional aspect of their relationship was built over time and it was more of a friends-to-lovers story. Just an observation.

So overall, I thought this story was alright... I found it a bit odd when the character point of view would change without much warning. For instance when I thought it was Ryan speaking it was really actually Zach. But that wasnt too bad. I also thought that there needed to be a little bit more time for these characters to build up their relationship together, as their relationship was not just physical, but emotional, but again that's okay.

So all in all a good story. If you are looking for a "gay for you" and/or "first time" short erotic romance, then I think that you will like this.

This was a nice, sweet gay-for -you short story. The characters were enjoyable though Ryan made me iffy at times with his ignorant-like comments. But he admitted his cluelessness. The first time he and Zach had sex was slightly more believable than their second time. All in all, it was a good read. I'd read more from this author.

Sweet short about a guy figuring out that he's gay. One of my pet peeves is anal sex without lube, and that happened. Zach's patience and attention to Ryan's feelings was sweet. This short shows promise for Aria Grace's future in M/M fiction.

Quick read, very hot, and not too forced. I wouldn't mind taking Zack with me home, but I think I lack the parts for him to enjoy it ;)

I'll rec it :)

A decent, steamy m/m read, with a fair amount of depth given the page count.
Left me wanting more from these characters which was a good sign.

Love strikes hard for the first time

So, this story has a good character base and some really good story points but if I am honest here the sex of this book was not as good for me as some other books have been for some reason. Maybe it's just me but I really think that I am going to skip the other books in the series for now.

once again another great book! this has been a great weekend for me with books... that is of course because all of them have been Aria Grace books!

this book is about a guy named Ryan who broke up with his high school girlfriend. she went off to college and she was to "needy" in there long distant relationship so they broke up. thus, putting Ryan in this little funk. Ryan didn't knew what he wanted. if he wanted to contiue being singe, or having a one night stand, or nothing at all.

at work his friend paul took him out after work because paul was determined to get him out of this funk. While, at a bar a couple girls came over to paul and ryan's table. instantly paul ditched ryan and left with this girl. Ryan was sitting at the table with a girl named Drea. they both had to much to drink and had to get up early for school. Ryan didn't want to hook up with Drea, but when he found out the she was a passager and now didn't have a ride home he decided he would do the gentleman thing and drive her home.
well to add to ryan's night he was followed by a police officer. ryan decided to go inside and sober up. well, that was until he looked outside and found out the cop was still there. Drea already went to bed and he was left to sleep on the couch with her cousin zack. he was to busy playing video games to notice him. that was until ryan caught zack staring at him.
ryan decided to befriend zack after a morning conversation and even having a couple guys days with him. ryan started to think differently about zack and asked him to help with his a class he was struggling with. ryan now had the option to explore his questioning head. now ryan is left with a bunch of questions. ryan was asking himself if he was gay or was this just a good friendship.

i got this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. again this was a pleasure and i can't wait to buy the rest of her books that she puts out
