! What a tremendously brave adventure you pursued for an amazing cause. I loved your book, your humor, honest feelings and all the little details that were portrayed each and every day that you were riding across America ! I couldn't wait to read what you endured each day- whether on your bike or where you stayed , hearing about the kind supportive people you met along the way etc..How amazingly supportive all your friends and family were. I couldn't imagine doing what you did being a novice bik ...more

Al's journey of crossing America alone with little training goes beyond amazing. I could not put this inspirational
book down. Al is proof that one person can make a difference, and made me think what can I do to make a difference in someone's life. His dedication to his beloved niece Jenna, and determination to raise awareness and funds to find a cure for Sturge-Weber Syndrome is heart warming. The stories of the people Al meets along the way will restore your faith in humanity. I highly recomm

After many months and many tests, Jenna was diagnosed with Sturge-Weber Syndrome (SWS), a rare neurological disorder that can lead to seizures, developmental delays, and learning d ...more

Crossing America for a Cure takes you on the 45 day, selfless cycling journey across America by Al DeCesaris. It is a lighthearted account of Al's ever focused journey to create awareness of the rare neurological disorder, Sturge-Weber Syndrome, affecting his niece Jenna. The book is a wonderful demonstration how seemingly ordinary people can do extraordinary things with love and passion as their fuel. Not only was the book motivational, it was a unique glimpse into the varied countryside and ch ...more
