Stay. Stay with me. Stay here. Stay close. Stay like this forever. Stay as happy as I am right here in your arms, always.

All I’ve ever wanted was to be loved, but if this is what true love is…I’m not so sure I want it anymore. It also makes me wonder if any of my memories of our once happy marriage are even real. Maybe I just conjured up the fairy tale in my head bec

Where do I even start!? This book is everything.
Okay, so I've been waiting since March to have this book in my hands and I finally received it last night. Now, considering how much I had to wait... being in the same room with it and not reading it was impossible. So of course, I read it in a day. Let me tell you, the wait was so worth it!! It kept me grinning from ear to ear all the way.
This is my second book by Julie and it just deepened my love for her writing. This is the first firefighter no

Reviewers note: Author Julie Prestsater asked me to read the first two chapters of this book way back when she was first developing this series. I fell in love with the characters immediately but my one question to her was if the heroine was going to cheat on her husband which she assured me was not going to happen. That was a very long time ago and I’ve thought about these characters a lot si

The first book is all about Liz and Ryan.

Lizzy is an amazing girl with a great wit. She had some weight problems and it is putting some weight on her marriage. Anyone can see Jace is a total a** who doesn’t deserve this wonderful wom

I am in love with this book. Ryan is my new book boyfriend and WOW! I can’t say enough good things about him. He can save me any day of the week.

Liz is married to a jerk named Jace. It takes a lot for me to truly hate a person, and I HATE him! Yes, I know he isn’t a real person but if he was, he would be hated. Liz is a bit overweight according to her husband and he makes sure that his disgust well known. Like I said, JERK!

I had read basically ALL good things about this one, so I was a little disappointed when I only found it okay. It's not a bad book, but it failed to really capture my interest.

I completely get that abusive relationships take all forms (e.g. not always physical) and that every person will have a different reaction. So I feel a bit hesitant to say that Liz didn't feel like a woman who was stuck in her marriage and scared to get out. She felt like someone who knew she was being treated like crap by

I don't like the new trend of authors making the heroine 'into books' or the hero having a huge library at his house... that just bugs me. I think it's stupid and overused.
This story is NOT like that!
Lizzy works at a library, she goes to book club, she fantasizes over book boyfriends, she's one of us!!
I really enjoyed the dynamic of her group of friends and their interactions with the hot firemen. Yes, I repeat.. HOT FIREMEN!

This book is sweet and easygoing, yet hits its objective spot on. Lov

I loved this book! It's a quick, fun read with some angsty parts. I only wished Lizzy would have stuck it to her husband some more! Can't wait for the rest of the series two years to wait is too long!

First off I have to say that this is the cutest book cover I've ever seen. Sure, I love looking at the half naked men on most covers just as much as anyone else, but I once saw Julie say she wanted something for this book that didn't make it look like it was all about sex, because it's not. You want to read porn, go read Fifty Shades of Grey again. you want a sweet romantic book about true love then pick this up pronto.

When we first start off we learn that Liz is married to a very rude person, w

5 HOT STARS!!!

"Sure my husband may never truly love me again...but who needs love when you're about to get an eyeful of hot firemen?"

Lizzy is unhappy. She is stuck in a marriage that isn't what it used to be. Plus, she is always trying new ways to lose a little bit of weight to keep her husband, Jace, happy. No matter what she does, it seems that she will never have the attention from him that she desires.

"All I've ever wanted was to be loved , but if this is what love is...I'm not sure I want i

Tell Me You Love Me is book #1 in the new Fire Me Up Series by Julie Prestsater.

Holy HOT FIREMAN! As cheesy as it sounds I had the song THE FIREMAN by George Strait in my head as soon as this group of hotties came on scene. Sheesh! What a lucky group of gals! Best book club EVER!

Lizzy is in a craptastic marriage and her husband, Jace is a BEEP! BEEPITY! BEEP! He is constantly on her about her weight with dirty looks and negative comments. She has an awesome group of neighborhood girlfriends th

The overall plot to this book was good but the actual detail of bringing everything together wasn’t so paced out to my liking. I get the drama over her being married and of course the hubs is an a** so it’s easy to see where this will lead but all of a sudden her friends say the D word and it takes one more ‘issue’ and she’s over it.
I get it take one straw to break the back but if more involvement of their past connected to their unhappy present it wouldn’t seem so instant bc of this firefighte

I found this book by chance when I was browsing one of the blogs I frequently read. All I read about it was good and praising so it’s the sad truth when I say this was just okay by my standards. Not a bad okay but not a great one either.

It’s a really slow progressing romance novel but I liked that it’ not dominated by sexual content that most of them are nowadays. Oh there are sexy times in it but not much and it’s written in a really subtle and kind of conservative fashion. I liked this aspect

This was a really good book. Elizabeth is married to a man that treats her terribly. When they married, she was a size six and now she's a size sixteen. Jace has made it his mission to make her feel horrible about herself and feel that she couldn't make anyone happy with her body. Her friends and her have a book club that they meet at the little park area halfway up a really high hill in their neighborhood that is where the local firemen run. This is a sweet, simple read with characters that are easy to relate to and a book club I long to be a part of.
In the beginning I was a bit leery of what was to come considering the main character's relationship status and the appearance of a hot fireman who doesn't hide his admiration for her, but, as the story progressed, my worries were put to rest.
My favorite part of this book, however, wasn't the love story but rather the book club and the friendships formed within it. I mean, rea

This was a really great read. It is about Liz "Lizzy" and her journey to realize that she deserves to be happy. The story starts with Liz in a bad marriage with a man who is verbally abusive about her weight. She has great friends that she is in a book club with that encourage to leave him because she deserves better.

The book club meets in a picnic area in their neighborhood where they can greet the fireman who train on the path. One day there is a new guy, Ryan. Things get interesting and comp

This was a quick, sweet romance read for me. I was new to this author and glad I grabbed this on sale when I did. Lizzy and Ryan's relationship starts off as friends even though they are immediately smitten with one another. Lizzy is in a very bad marriage and she is figuring out when is enough already. The book club was of course the highlight for me. Loved all the girls and each of the personalities just added to the fun of the group. The fact that they found the firefighters to admire and the ...more

I'm not surprised how wonderful this book was because of my love of Julie Prestsater's books and her writing. Lizzy and Ryan's relationship made me swoon. They were real characters, especially Lizzy. In a bad marriage to a jerk named Jace, Lizzy has a slew of insecurities which her BFF's from her "Fire Me Up" book club help her work through. She meets Ryan, who makes her feel like she is the most beautiful person in the world and her insecurities begin to diminish a bit over time. Ryan is major ...more

Real Characters

The characters in this book are centered around a neighborhood and they are probably some of the most "real" characters I've ever read. I wish I had neighbors like this! Lizzy is very relatable and struggles with weight and insecurity, mostly due to her jerk of a husband. Ryan is an all around nice guy and falls head over heels for her immediately.
I enjoyed the talk during book club meetings about some other books and authors (lots of name dropping). I'll be checking into some of

I found this through a bloggers top ten LOL romantic comedy list. I had read most of the other books on the list and agreed with the choices so I figured I couldn't lose. So I went in to this with high expectations. Now, don't get me wrong, it was ok but if I lightly chuckled twice that is stretching it. The story was about a woman who finally gets fed up with her abusive husband and leaves him. Then, she finds love again. Great for her, but by no means funny. So regular readers know how I feel about romance books without sex. If there's no sex (or it doesn't happen til the end or whatever), and you still find yourself panting and turned on and basically making a horny fool out of yourself, you, my friend, have found yourself an excellent romance author.

And that's exactly what happens in Julie Prestsater's Tell Me You Love Me. The buildup, oh the buildup. The karaoke roulette, the roving eyes, and the dancing, oh m

A quick, fun, hot read filled with good characters and a believable plot. This is pretty much what I expect from Ms Prestsater. She writes people that are almost familiar to you, as if you knew them, and she places them in real world situations. While I would not consider them great literature, they are always, fast, fun, and you find yourself anxious for the next one in the series. Kind of like a really go cheesecake. I loved this book from page 1!!! The story is fun, flirty, romantic, and leaves wanting to know more. You fall in love with the tight bond of friendship with the girls. Then their unique bond with firemen, who care about their well being as friends. It is the perfect feel good book, that I am going to share with my friends. Not over the top, make you sick to your stomach, romance.

This was really good. I don't normally like to read contemporary romances, but I ended up on this author's email list somehow. I received a newsletter with a blurb for book 2, and I liked what I read. So I went to amazon, read the sample of book 1 and had to have it. Read this last night and just melted. I really enjoyed the dynamics between all the main characters, and I just can't wait for book 2 now. Great beach/backyard/comfy couch read.

I'm a mom, a wife, a teacher, a reader, and a writer. I'm also an lunatic when it comes to the NFL and playing Fantasy football, especially if I don't get my first pick quarterback: Tony Romo.
