After You, In Love Arrest by Mario Gabriel Adame is a collection of love poems in two parts: “In Love” and “Arrest.” “Teach me how to love / Teach me how to find peace” are just two lines from the book that may seem simple at the first but they set the tone of the collection. After an introduction written in lyrical prose in the second person, the poems reveal themselves one by one, in free verse but with an inner rhythm, covering the universal th

'After You, In Love Arrest' is not a book I could read in one sitting. It is very intense and in my experience poetry deserves close reading. Not skim-reading. To a certain degree I feel uncomfortable reviewing (and therefore judging) the authors work because it seems to be very personal to him and he bares his soul. Autolysis? Cathartic? Creative self-expression? The author states, at the beginning of the book that for him, 'This will be a start and a finish of finding the complete meaning beh

Author Mario Gabriel Adame’s after you, in love arrest is a collection of non traditional poetry that shows the pitfalls, insecurities, doubts and splendour of two people in pursuit of each other. With a shaky start, the book really begins with the poem uncanny (dreaming until our world is one) which is when the pace starts to pick up and I find myself really enjoying reading what this author has to say. In fact Without Touch, Without Touch part 2 and I are a few of my personal favourites in thi ...more

After you, in love arrest is a collection of non traditional poems that show the search of two soul, looking for each other. I really think of two lost souls, one looking for the other.... but I really like how the author reveal a little in the poems about this complicate souls... because there is a love story.

This book need to be read again and again because play a story that reveal a love story behind it... the insecurities, the search, remember the good times, how to wake next to each other,

I was very interested in beginning this collection after I read that the poems were a reflection of the current generations outlook on love. As a society, we interact much differently than we once did due to technology, and because of this I believe we are viewing dating, relationships, and love much differently. Mario Gabriel Adame does an amazing job with the rhythm and flow of his words. Each reader will see and feel something different with each poem. It's a great collection, a 5/5.

I received After You, In Love Arrest free from Goodreads. Poetry is a personal voyage and usually a mirror of one's soul. To fully appreciate it a person must have experienced some of the most tragic events along with parasailing through good moments. As I was drawn through each page , I could only
Imagine his journey and I enjoyed the ride. Thank you for allowing me to savor your writing.

Adame's style is quite unique, he is often in a place of incoherence. I wasn't a fan of the book by any means but Adame did do one thing very well. He captured the confusion of love better than anyone I've seen.
