Tempt: A Twisted Wolf Tale is a present-day retelling of Red Riding Hood.

The beginning was not bad, but it went downhill quickly, and became repetitive, boring, and nonsensical.

Undeveloped, unexplained, nonsensical.

A twenty-one-year-old woman behaving like a seventeen-year-old and a female werewolf/shapeshifter (unclarified).

The Romance

The wolf has claws even in human form. In a lesbian erotic novel. Though not used, I don’t even want to think about them.

I LOVED the way Rene Folsom took the story of Little Red Riding Hood and added a sultry spin on the classic tale. Rene gives you the right amount detail but also keeps it short and sexy. She expertly leaves the story open if in the future she were to decide to expand on Rosetta's story but keeps it satisfyingly short. The brief little taste she gives you of her next fairy tale spin has me inpatiently waiting

This quick read is perfect for the run up to Halloween. It combines the premise of Little Red Riding Hood with a paranormal were romance. The set up is clever and enticing; the execution is sexy and amusing; the 'all the better...' lines are perfect. There are going to be more released as we reach the end of October; look out for them all, and enjoy your childhood favourites with an adult twist!

Amazing twist on an old classic. Only Rene could turn Little Red Riding Hood into a hot, steamy, suspenseful read. I could not put it down. I honestly did not know how this book would turn out at the end, absolutely loved it.

“Tempt (Twisted Wolf Tales #1)” is an enjoyable lesbian version of the Red Riding Hood story. The best part of the audiobook is the delightful mood, and the terrific narration by Sierra Kline.

The characters themselves are okay, but the emphasis is on MC Rosie’s confusions and new unusual feelings. Other characters, including the mystery woman/wolf of her dreams, her Granny, her mother and her boyfriend Cody could have been developed more, even though the audiobook is only 2hrs and 16mins long.

Rene excels at making you hot and bothered in her books. I was super excited to have a spooky book to read around Halloween and this novel did not disappoint. It was the perfect blend of both. A twisted retelling of Red Riding Hood was exactly what I needed.

You have no idea what you are getting with this novel. It is a retelling of Red Riding Hood, kinda. It is far more than that though, and you will be happily surprised. It is so much better than you could have i

It's no surprise that Rene Folsom is one of my favorite authors. She has an unique writing style that draws me into her books and connect with her characters. She's a great storyteller and every book I have read of hers I have enjoyed very much! She's just one of those authors that can write various genres and every one of those books are unique and had their own voice.

Going to visit her granny, who lives deep within the Shrouded Woods, Rosetta, the main character, finds herself being ambushed

Fairy tales are absolutely not just for kids! I'm so glad I read this in October because it sets the absolute perfect atmospheric tone for a Halloween temptation which is both trick and treat at once. There's a lovely sense of fear, dread, heart-pounding worry at the onset which changes, morphs like the Big Bad Wolf turning into Granny in the original tale of Little Red Riding Hood except this change? It's sensual.

Wild women race barefoot through forests after beasts.

This review originally appeared on my blog, In Patti's Imagination and will also appear at Amazon. I received an ARC of the book in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this novella. Rene's prose is elegant and descriptive in a way I can't seem to manage in so few words. For this alone, her books will always get a minimum of 3 (or 7) stars from me. I liked the plot and loved the twist on the traditional Red Riding Hood tale. Not only is it a contemporary setting, but the basic story is turned

The re-writing of the classic fairy tales seems to be a new trend as of late. While I have read some that haven’t been that good, I have read others that have been really good. In the case of Tempt, I have to say that it was one of the better re-writes that I have read recently.

Ms. Folsom did a really good job at adding enough twists and turns into the story to make it one of her own, but also kept to the original storyline enough that while reading it, you almost compare the two of them. Like

I love reading retellings of classic or fairtale novels. That being said, I did not read the synopsis for this story. I saw modern day retelling of Little Red Riding Hood then noticed it was a novella and I was sold. Once I started reading I was completely sucked in to this beautifully written story with characters I could identify with. The main points of the classic were touched on just to keep it where it needed to be, a retelling, but everything else was completely new and fantastic. A beaut ...more

A quick and easy read, Tempt by Rene Folsom puts a spin on the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale. Tempt is not written for children and is most appropriate for ages 18+. If you're looking to read a steamy f/f fantasy than Tempt might be right up your alley.

The perfect length in story and prose, Rene captures Rosetta and makes us feel what she's experiencing. Clean of errors and grammatical issues, it's nice to read (what I b

What a fun story! Rene takes a typical children's fairy tale, tosses in some erotica, a few other twists and turns into atypical fairy take. Rosetta, a young adult girl on her way to her grandmother's house, is spooked in the woods, trips, and hits her head. She wakes up at her destination, but cannot remember what happened or how she got there. Deciding to let it go, she tries to go about her daily life. She is plagued by sexy dreams and frustrated by her body's changing needs.

What an amazing twist on Little Red Riding Hood.

Rene took the fairy tale and turned into a sexy tale for adults. The air of mystery and dread as well as the anticipation that Rosetta feels is all to real.

Rosetta heads through the woods to her grandmother's house only to be attacked but doesn't remember anything about it but has the scratch marks to prove it. Not sure what to think of them and the feeling she gets when she is around her boyfriend, the dreams that are seem so real.

"Tempt" by Rene Folsom. Little Red Riding Hood....NOT! Ms. Folsom has taken the classic tale and twisted it into an interesting and enjoyable tale. This is the story of Rosetta - a young girl that doesn't realize she's missing anything until things change. This is a female-female story which is so tastefully done - the author describes the feelings and sensations of the main character as well as describing the scenery that one feels like they are right there with Rose. Despite being a novella an ...more

An adult retelling of a childhood classic, that alone made me want to check it out. Most of us know that being "marked" in the fairy tale/supernatural/paranormal genre means one of two things, either Rosetta is going to experience something truly breathtaking or completely horrific. There really is no gray area when it comes to finding yourself marked. Which way does the author take it? Well, that would be a spoiler to the Nth degree and that isn't happening here, so you'll have to read for your ...more

The author is amazing at pulling you into her story, with mystery and suspense of what has happened with our main character Rose and her journey in the forest on her way to see her grandmother.
This is a nice and interesting spin on one of my favorite stories as a kid, but this is differently not the kids' story that we all know as children that is for sure! Wow, wow wow!! This was a book that I wish was just a bit longer, because I did not want it to end. I can honestly state that I was not sur

I loved this story! It was awesome Rosetta is going to her grandmother's house in the woods to get chocolate truffle she's donating for her mothers Halloween party.. she feels like she's being watched and followed so she runs and falls and hit her head before she passes out she sees gold eyes. Her grandmother sees the scratches on her chest and says she's been marked.. she starts having different feelings for her boyfriend things are turning into not what they seem.. sh

Rene Folsom is my favorite author but I generally do not go for fantasy, sci-fi or fairy-tale stories. Well let me tell you this is NOT your typical fantasy or fairy-tale story! I enthusiastically give it 5 stars!

Rene has a way of connecting with her readers, of drawing them so deeply in the story that they feel like they are either part of the book or they desperately want to become one of the characters. I truly enjoyed the way the two main characters interacted with each other. There was pass

This novella was a phenomenal twist on Little Red Riding hood.

Rosetta is on her way to Grandma’s house. The only way to get there is through the Shrouded Wood, a place she’s traveled through many times without a second thought. This time, it’s different. This time she feels like she’s being watched. Just before she reaches her grandma’s, she trips and hits her head.

She starts having erotic dreams. About a wolf with gold eyes. And a woman seducing her. She’s never been attracted to a woman befor

Little Red Riding hood is my favourite childhood story and to read a wonderful Rene rendition was amazing. How she imagines such things I don't know. The description of the forrest on the way to Granny's had me at the edge of my seat. Rosetta fighting through the thick brush and running in her beautiful red cape and hand made basket, I could feel the eyes watching her. The twist of the original story will have you biting your nails, oh the suspense. I loved this version of the st

Just in time for the Halloween season comes Tempt. Tempt is not your normal twist on Red Riding Hood. This book had 20 year old, Rosetta, going to grandma’s house for a quick errand. Rosie ends up with some mysterious but pleasurable scratches on her way through the woods. I always love new twists on old stories and this was no exception. Rene Folsom turned this story inside out and upside down and made a great modern twist on a well known classic, aiming at a much older audience (18+). In usual Rene style she has written an amazing short story which sucks you in and keeps you hooked till the very last page. I don't think Rene will ever disappoint with her stories, how she comes up with such wonderful ideas amazes me! ...more

I loved this short story from Rene Folsom!!! This story puts a very funky twist on the classic tale of Little Red Riding Hood.

This story is filled with heat, passion, and a good old-fashioned mystery. I also loved how Ms. Folsom ended the story leaving the reader demanding to know the fate of Rosetta and her mystery woman/wolf. I cannot wait for the next installment of this story :)

Very well done story!!!
