good exposition to counter "the fanatic Muslim" image portrayed in mainstream media....here is a snapshot of the moderate Muslim society, that group the US keeps alienating with their crazy imperialist foreign policies......

I picked this book up while looking for the other with the same title. While written almost 15 years ago, it is still relevant in answering a few questions. At the writing of the book, Egypt was undergoing a transformation in that, religiosity was sweeping over society. Religious factions or institutions were taking over non-religious societal functions. She wrote this book before I think five years , after she traveled to Egypt and Iran she studied some situations for new style Islam's new, a lot ideas for the modern Islam society.
