“Exposed” is a short, erotic suspense novel. After her husband suggests visiting a club where public sex and the erotic are common, Jessica explores sex with strangers in sex clubs where menage and other erotica taboos are acceptable behavior.

But there is more to Jessica than just sex. After she defends in court a girl accused of importing drugs, Jessica becomes the target of someone who wants her dead.

Eventually, the themes of this contemporary suspense, romance and sex novel come together when Jessica learns who she really is, finds her attackers and gets her revenge. “Exposed” describes how Jessica became the directing force of her own life, how she leaves condemnation behind, and separates sex and romance.

In her own words:

"You don't think we've met? We have, more than once. I sat next to you once at the airport, and you asked me what time it was. I hoped you wanted to strike up a conversation. We sat at tables next to each other at that coffee shop on the corner, where the atmosphere and coffee both have character.

Remember when I caught you staring at me when I came out of the court house? Or was it the exquisite old building where I practice law? You were embarrassed, but I didn’t mind at all. In fact, you made me smile.

Maybe we met at one of the “special clubs” I enjoy in Seattle, or Portland, or Vancouver or San Francisco, Denver or Las Vegas. You know, clubs where clothing is optional and anything goes, with friends or with strangers. I admit I like that, but “no” always means “NO.”

I’ve been told I am as cold as the antarctic, or as hot as a black sand beach in the Caribbean; it’s said I am either indifferent, or too passionately engaged. These are labels and don’t really matter to me any more. I’ve been called a slut, a force, a lawyer, a nymphomaniac. You decide which one was the insult if you'd like, I don’t really care.

This book is about who I am and why I’m that way. I describe a few events in a story you will think explains everything. It does not, but will give you an idea of how I grew up, how I discovered sex, what I like about men and what I don’t, how close I came to being murdered and how that led to my discovery of who I really am.

Sometimes, when explanations fail, story is all we have. And though my story may be very different from yours, you and I are very much alike in that place where we hide our desire."

That was bloody brilliant!

I like when I am pleasantly surprised by a book, but I absolutely love when I am blown away by one, and Exposed blew me away. I finished reading it yesterday, but I still can't stop thinking about it.

description

After reading the blurb on NG I was intrigued and couldn't wait to start reading it. Imagine my surprise when I realized that was not actually a fiction or is it? I think under it was written 'adult fiction' otherwise I know I wouldn't have looked at it. But the novel is about Jessica Love and author's name is Jessica Love too, and in the story author says she changed some names and is not naming places because of privacy, which made me think that maybe it is not entirely a fiction book. Anyway, it doesn't matter if it is a fiction or non-fiction, because it was absolutely amazing!

"If everything is the best ever, then there can be no best."

In the novel, we are introduced to Jessica Love and how her story started, and why it really happened. We get to know a little bit about her family and her childhood, we get a glimpse of her in high school, and college. Mainly we find out what events shaped her and her life while she was growing up. Jessica Love becomes a lawyer in Seattle. Her husband, Mark, was also a lawyer. They were happy together, until one of them broke their rule. Then one thing lead to another and everything changed in Jessica's life. She changed. And she had to learn some hard lessons along the way.

"There are people; there are rules. You fight the people; you change the rules."

There are numerous things I am taking away from this book. Not only I learned many things about the legal world, but I also learned few important things about life.

"You do what you do, you own what you do. You accept the consequences or try to change."

This is not a lovey-dovey romance book. It does contain some BDSM, erotica and romance, but that is not what this book is about. I can't really tell you what it is about, if you decide to read it you will have to figure it out for yourself. But, for Jessica Love what happened made her head in a new direction and I promise you want to know what happened.

description

This book was incredible. I have a huge girl-crush on Jessica Love and I loved how she dealt with problems and life. When something bad happened, she didn't cry in the corner, she fixed the problem. That was really inspiring. Her french grandmother was extraordinary, all those great advices were so simple but immeasurable. There were many other interesting characters in this book, some I absolutely hated, some I liked and some surprised me, but ultimately they all added something to the story.

"I don't think I can fix it," I said.
"If you don't think you can fix, maybe is not yours to fix," she said.

Anyway, I cannot recommend this highly enough. I know it is not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but if you are looking for something unique and something that will surprise you, you should give this a try. There is no 'should!' Give this a try.

I don't know, maybe it is a future lawyer in me that made this book so fascinating for me or maybe it is the hard lessons Jessica Love was learning along the way or maybe it is something else, but this book left me speechless and I don't know how to recover from it.

I could not decide whether to give 1 or 2 stars hence 2 stars at the end. This one is autobiography of Jessica Love herself or I don't know if that is an imaginary characters - I didn't look it up because I simply doesn't care.
What I don't like is description of novel, it doesn't give correct image. It is self reflection kind of novel and loved the part where Jessica went to France and found more about her grandmother. That was simply touching and I guess life altering for Jessica. It is not all trashy but have some good strong characters but it goes out of window because of authors negativity toward herself and others. Her carefree writing is nothing but rude and I-don't-care-what-you-think attitude would be okay for some readers not for me.

This was an AMAZING read! I absolutely loved it! It's not one of those romantic romance novels at all. Yes, there's sex, a bit of bdsm.. but for the most part it feels like a memoir. I am very surprised on how much i enjoyed it.

Pick it up. You will not be disappointed!

Exposed is written as a autobiography of a woman who must find her place. It's not a love story but a story of discovery and acceptance.

"I'm writing this because I've been asked so often why I'm not married, why I do what I do, how I started and what does it "mean" even though that last question is pretty meaningless."

Jessica Love, our protagonist and narrator, begins her story with early life events. In high school she learns an unfortunate lesson and her grandmother is there to provide solace. We are introduced to the reoccurring phrase that shaped who Jessica would become.

"Everything passes, everything weary, everything breaks.."

Jessica shares two experiences that give us a glimpse of what makes her tick. What some may say are her perversions.

Jessica graduates college as a lawyer and marries Mark who is also a lawyer. They seem to marry because it was expected of them and not because they truly love each other. Their lives became routine. Mark suggests a club that caters to different sexual proclivities. They attend and enjoy the exhibitionism. Soon they take it a step further that initiates the destruction of their marriage. Jessica's eventually moves on with her life to only find her freedom being taken from her. Although, Jessica gives us hints of possible future events I continue to be surprised when they occur. I feel for Jessica and her plight to find her place. When in France she meets her great uncle and aunt who furnish her with the ending of the phrase that has shaped her life.

"Everything passes, everything weary, everything breaks everything must find its place."

Jessica returns home and moves forward to take back her life. In the end Jessica Love explains that some may judge her but she has simply made different decision.

Jessica is a strong character that has to learn to accept herself. She has different tastes and finds herself taking on the world from an early age. From the beginning she attends high school and college parties allowing herself sexual gratification that many find taboo, labeling her as a slut. She deviates temporarily when she marries however that does not last long. Her proclivities are used against her and inadvertently take away her freedom. In the end she finds herself with her grandmother's help. Her grandmother early on makes a statement that sums up Jessica's challenges, "These Americans, obsessed by what they fear, fearing their own obsessions,". I enjoyed that this is not a love story, it's an exploration and acceptance of a different lifestyle.

Just based on the premise, I knew this book was going to be interesting: sex clubs? Attempted murders? A woman set on finding herself and getting some revenge? What else could I ask for in a book?

Despite my initial interest in this book, Exposed exceeded my expectations. It’s honestly amazing how much stuff was just packed into this 236 page novel: character development, thoughts on slut shaming and sex, conversations about moving on from the past and into a better future. I was prepared for sex, attempted murder, and intrigue, and I get all of that and so much more. Love really dug down deep and came out with a novel that opened up conversations: for example, why is it acceptable for a man to be promiscuous, but a woman is considered a slut for doing the same? Why do women need to bend over backwards for the delicate egos of men? How far do you need to escape from your world in order to find yourself? Exposed comes with a lot of self-discovery from the main character I wasn’t prepared for, but that I am pleased with nonetheless.

It’s hard to find a book that deals with these kinds of topics that really develops the main character; most of the time, the novel centers in on the sex, the murder attempt, the revenge plot, the court cases, and the drug scandals. Jessica was so fleshed out, I felt like I had gotten to know her the same way you get to know a future friend. She spoke honestly and unabashedly. She gave up her every secret to the readers and the outcome was honestly just so incredible.

I think my only complaint for Exposed had to do with the writing and the pacing. Love did a lot of telling rather than showing, and it sometimes ripped me away from her. I felt less immersed in the novel because of this lack of showing me what was going on. The pacing seemed off as well; very little happened in the beginning, but then everything started happening within the last quarter of the book. I suddenly felt overwhelmed with all of the drama that was going on, to the point that it almost felt forced or fake. Then, smack in the middle of all of this drama, came a death and a trip to France that slowed down the pace so rapidly, it felt like I was getting whiplash. But when you have an interesting plot and an incredible character portrait like Exposed does, the writing sort of takes a backseat anyways.

In many ways, Exposed didn’t really feel like a book about romance or revenge; it didn’t feel like erotica or mystery. It felt a lot more like a character breakdown, like a portrait of a woman and her thoughts on the world and herself. Exposed provided an introspection that was so unexpected for me, and I loved the surprise of it.

As I was reading this, I did not know that it's written as an "autobiography." I didn't even put together the "author's" name is the same as the character. Once I discovered this, the style of writing in past tense clicked. Until I knew that, I was bothered by this style and kept wondering when we'd get through the backstory and to the present. Especially at the beginning, it felt like we were getting a brief and emotionally detached info dump on her background. Nothing made me feel attached or emotional for the heroine. It's a different style (fictional autobiography - at least I really hope this was all fake) for a book, but even knowing this now it wasn't something that resonated with me.

As much as I wanted to like the book based on the blurb, it didn't really do it for me. It felt dark and depressing, but never pulled me in emotionally like similar books. The heroine seemed scattered. She's put or involved herself in some sexually dangerous situations while she's in high school and you get this very detached emotional vibe from it all. Except for a brief period while she's married, that same detached and unemotional tone continued. All of this left me from connecting or even finding something redeeming about the heroine.

I had absolutely no qualms with the bdsm club scenes, in fact I perked up reading those hoping for some real feelings and emotions. If anything, those scenes seemed extremely tame and light in comparison to other writers and I continued to want more from this character. The eventual demise of her marriage baffled me. Even after we learned how it all came about, Mark became this weak and pathetic character and I wanted them to find each other again.

I did feel there was some momentum towards the end, then I thought she was a fool, then I cheered for her once it was revealed her actual motives. I also enjoyed the wisdom and patience of her grandmother.

All of this left me feeling like there was a conclusion to the book, but it appears it's part of a series. I went on the author's website to learn more about her and the future of the series. There's not much information provided about future books, but she does have some very thought provoking posts about morality and boundaries. These were well-written and I encourage anyone to read these after they've finished with this story.

I think the publisher nailed it by categorizing it as erotica and fiction literature, and not romance. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for an honest review.

I admit, when I finished reading Exposed by Jessica Love I completely took back my initial thoughts of how I thought the story would be. I honestly had this down as just another one of those erotica/adult books which would be sex fuelled and not a lot else. Boy was I wrong!

Do not go into reading this book thinking you are going to get to know Jessica, you really won't. She is more complexed that you or I and although many of us are three dimensional she is so much more. I didn't think I would like Jessica, in fact at the start I found her arrogant and a little dismissive to the reader. You are told the book like you are sitting down with her face to face and she is telling you her story. I felt like she thought she was better than me, almost talking down to me, but not in a condescending way. As the book went on I found I was very similar too her, surprisingly so. I could relate to certain things and although the story is really 'out there' and at times 'unbelievable', I also want to contradict myself and say it was believable. Almost the stuff movies are made of. In fact, this would make a great movie.

Jessica is our main character, we hear a lot about things along her journey, but don't think you will really get to know anyone else in such an in-depth way as you won't - its almost like she is a 1 woman show. Some things are completely irrelevant, others you will here and wonder why she is telling you this, to then find later in the book the reason why. I feel the synopsis of the books gives you the impression she is an 'unbreakable force' which isn't true. This isn't a woman who just loves sex, she does love sex, but there is more to her than that. She is smart and insightful.

As I said at the beginning of this review, I didn't see the main story coming at all and am pleased this book wasn't just a sex marathon. There is a real story there and I'm hoping more people will give this book a chance as everything she tells you, is building up to a really good story and ending.

I gave Exposed 4 stars, I will DEFINITELY be reading other books in the Exposed series. I also would recommend this book to anyone who likes a hot adult fiction book, there is mild romance there and also self discovery.

Right from the start there is a question overhanging, is this truth or fiction? The author and character have the same name but she explains throughout that some names aren't real and that you can't track her down in Seattle. It's written in an autobiographical style. I felt as if I was sitting in the room with her while she says 'this is me, if you want to listen sit back and don't interrupt'.

Jessica Love is the one main character and all the others move in and out of the picture. This is not a romance but a portrayal of a woman's sexual and career journey in a man's world and the people she crosses.

She is an alpha female who goes after what she wants. At first I really didn't like her much. She's uninhibited and an exhibitionist which leads her to some difficult situations. I didn't have sympathy for her, she chose to do what she did and then her ways of stretching the truth did nothing to further ingratiate her to me.

But, I realised, and this is part of the point I think, that we wouldn't think as badly of her acts if done by a man. Later in the book I got angry on her behalf and wanted revenge.
She really is unlike any other main character I've read in an erotic novel.

She is resilient and lives by a statement her grandmama repeated to her:

Everything passes, everything weary, everything breaks, everything must find its place.

If you want a good girl who apologises for who she is and doesn't dare go after what she wants, this is not for you, however if you want a liberated, narcissistic, sexy hedonist, read on.

Self-interest is the only thing you can trust when dealing with others.

The message to me from this book is don't deny who you are to suit others. Be who you are and don't apologise for that. If you're not hurting anyone then who is to judge your actions. It was a cautionary tale for me too, remember people can be easily swayed and manipulated but never underestimate a woman scorned.

I have never read a book quite like this and got lost in Jessica's life. This is an addicting read which made me question the way women like Jessica are treated in society.

I was really surprised by Jessica sort-of autobiography, I felt she was really gutsy when she was pushed up against a wall, she fought back and won! She learned at very young age that you have to fight for what you believe in or people will use and abuse you if you let them. I loved that she was impassioned to fight for women who were unjustly accused of a crime to get the best outcome she could of them. The only wild and unusual thing she liked more than the law was having public sex in-front of everyone at a sex club called SASSE. Jessica discovered she likes erotic public sex when she was in college. In college she had sex with a guy she met at a party, she enjoyed everyone watching she, but she found out later that she was filmed, plus the film was circulating among a lot of college kids. She confronted the guy she had sex with, and was able to negotiate a deal for the film and the negative by clever and shrewd thinking. This was when she discovered she should go to law school, she excelled at negotiating and getting results. There she meets her husband. After they are married a few years he talked her into going to the sex club SASSE. That is where things start to change for Jessica sexually, but her husband after a few visits to SASSE doesn't like sharing Jessica and can't handle how Jessica loves the attention. Their marriage falls apart, and it leaves Jessica feeling bewildered and confused. Jessica decides to take on a case, against her better judgment, where she defends a young wealthy girl of importing drugs. She wins the case, but someone wants her dead, but who??? She finds her attacker by using her cunning mind and she extracts her revenge. I like that Jessica is a strong woman and fights for her life against the well connected and wealthy people, and wins in the end. A lot of us can't say that and wished we could. There is some very erotic sex in this book, but also there is a very good story here that you will enjoy reading.

An erotic tale that hints at being a little more than that, a memoir perhaps? Jessica Love is not only the narrator, she is the author, and nothing pleases her more than teasing the reader. Jessica recounts her early days, her college experiences, and meeting her husband. But her story doesn't start to get really juicy until she and her husband Mark decide to take their love life to the next level. They venture into Seattle's sex scene by going to a very kinky nightclub. At first they don't engage anyone but each other, but after a couple months they become a little more adventuresome and Mark elicits help from some very willing strangers. Jessica, doesn't mind, in fact she's thrilled by all the extra attention her body receives. Mark, on the other hand has a harder time dealing with it. They become estranged and both throw themselves into their work (they're both attorneys) doing what they can to forget about each other. On a whim Jessica decides to go back to the club alone, little knowing the impact it would have on her life.

While this book clearly has erotic elements, there is much more to the story than that. It's a memoir filled with suspense, the narrator blithely hinting at the craziness to come. An air of mystery builds as Jessica suffers one set back after another til the final crippling blow arrives. Unlike other erotic tales this story also has a major family component (and no not incest you perv!), Jessica is very attached to her French grandmother and builds her life (and her walls) along the advice of her grandmother.

I'll admit, I was surprised the complexity of the character and the depth of the story. It went well beyond sex and there actually was a plot. Good for fans of erotic suspense or people looking for an introduction to erotica. It wasn't too hardcore or overbearing (and the sex was mostly believable).

I received this book for free from the publisher in return for my honest, unbiased opinion.

When reading this book I had a lot of mixed feelings. My first thought was to immediately stop the book because I wasn’t that in to it. And then I loved it for a moment, before once again feeling confused by my own feelings. The book is about Jessica Love, and how many events shaped her life today. We learn in the beginning about her childhood and some of the things that made her how she is. My big problem was when it came to the situation with “Sam”. I did not like how she handled the situation and how to just let life go on without knowing anything about what was going on with Sam. However, I do feel like I need to point out that I LOVED her honesty in this book. She uses a sentence at the beginning of the book that really pushed me to keep reading. She said, “I made a promise when I started writing this that I was going to be myself. Let’s try this again.” Reading those words really kept me motivated to finish the book. A lot of the book had to do with sex in my opinion, but it wasn’t the “good” sex. I’m not a fan of public sex, so when I read that she loved public sex and felt aroused by it, it really tampered down my feelings. Even though I’ve basically said I disliked everything, which I did dislike a lot of things, I have to admit I actually sort of love this book. Jessica didn’t sugar coat anything and told exactly what she was feeling and she didn’t run back to her comfort zone when she was telling things that were hard for her. Do I recommend this book for everyone? Absolutely not. Do I think this book teaches real life lessons? Yeah, sure. Jessica does go through some tough, and at times, heartbreaking experiences. How she handled them was all on her, and although I didn’t agree with a lot, I do respect her for putting her story out there for us to read. All in all, this story was something I would never had chosen to read, but I am happy I read it.

Have you ever finished a book, put it down and thought,

"What the hell did I just read?"

It's rare that I do, but when I finished Jessica Love's debut novel, Exposed, that is exactly what I thought. Days later, as I write this review, I'm still not sure. Exposed is a story full of intrigue, dark desires and paradoxes. It's written as an autobiography, yet I'm not sure if it really is. It makes great fiction too...See that! A paradox. Truth or fiction?

Jessica is an incredibly strong, smart, deep character. She is a lawyer and a wife. She has a past that is both sad and somewhat extraordinary. Her French grandmother raised her to be an independent thinker, to not worry about what others think about her or how they see her. She has a sexual appetite that is both disturbing and titillating. She is completely comfortable with it. Jessica is WAY more than meets the eye and you never truly understand all of who she is. We find out all of this and more through the various experiences she has.

ARC received via NetGalley for honest review.

All of this is woven in a story that is hot, suspenseful, and a little unbelievable. At the end of the book, you find yourself asking, "Did this all really happen? Did Jessica really live out her life this way? Who the heck is Jessica Love?" While the writing is strong, I had a hard time relating to Jessica. I found that some of the story was predictable, and at the same time I had no idea what was coming next. I'm still not sure if this is truly an autobiography or fiction. Either way, leaving the reader wondering which way is up is pretty brilliant.

My first thought when I was done reading Exposed was 'What the hell did I just read?' From the first pages of this book I felt like I just couldn't connect to the story, and unfortunately that didn't change at all during this book.

Exposed is written as an anonymous autobiography and spans her whole life in such a short amount of time, that this book feels more like a cliff note version of an actual story. I was also disappointed that this book was considered an erotic novel; while there are some sexual based scenes, a lot of them are fast forwarded over all of the juicy aspects. The synopsis also mentions that this book is suppose to have a suspense aspect to it, I never really saw one. Again, this book jumped all over the place, so there was no time for any suspense to actually be built. While the ending is suppose to be a bit uplifting, it fell flat like the rest of the book.

Another aspect of this book that I did not care for was the way it was written. Exposed is narrated from Jessica's point of view. With the book being written this way, situations are discussed more than described and there isn't a lot of dialogue to help set the tone of the book. I also found I was unable to connect with Jessica as a main character, so there was no hope in enjoying the story with Jessica narrating the entire book.

3 stars.

That was a very long winded synopsis for this book. But basically it sums up what this book is about.

I give this books 3 stars, because I really enjoyed the beginning of it. Then it somehow lost my interest. I think the beginning was enticing, because she kept giving us little snippets of her past, and saying how these certain (sexual) escapades made her who she is today. A very successful lawyer who likes to participate in group sex at a 'secret' club. All fine and dandy... The problem I had was that the emphasis she placed on her past voyeuristic sexcapades making her a bad seed and everything, didn't really come into play later into the novel... Or maybe it did and I just skimmed through those parts? I just felt like there as a discontinuity with why she liked fucking in public and the whole reason to her law mission...

I didn't even realize that Jessica Love was the 'author' of this book. So, the story may be more 'true' than it is let on as well... Or just a clever marketing ploy.

So all in all, it was a decent read. But not great. I kept reading just to see what would happen, then ... nothing...

I really didn't know what to think about this read going in. There really wasn't much going on in the beginning. I mean she had to let us get a lay of the land so to speak. I enjoyed this book and I feel I might have enjoyed it more if I did not take so long to get into this read. Jessica is a smart beautiful woman. I enjoyed Mark and was wondering how he fit into the puzzle. She has a wonderful grandmother and an interesting family. She has things happen in her life and huge obstacles to overcome. I enjoyed that she was a strong woman and knew what she wanted. Being a lawyer she has certain strengths and a way with words that can have you twisted and under her thumb. That is, if you are not careful. I see that this is #1 in this series and wonder where this author is taking us. I hope love is in the air for Jessica and to see where it goes with her history. I had tears in some parts if this book and was sad when Jessica was sad. The writing was good and since it is told in Jessica's POV there is not room for confusion on her part. I am off to the next. Enjoy!

This book was unlike anything I have read and I have to say, I think it was intriguing more than anything. I found some of it a little over-the-top and highly unlikely to occur, but such is the nature of a lot of fiction. The author had an intricate combination of mystery, romance, angst and and some suspense as it follows the leading lady- Jessica Love- through her life and eventually marriage.

The book synopsis piques your curiosity (or at least it did for me) but once you start reading, you will find that you continue just to see what happens next. The book takes a few different routes which adds to the intrigue, but some I found weren't necessary. I thought the overall ending was a bit of a let down, though I liked how the subtle hints about one character throughout the book actually led up to something neat.

I don't want to say too much because I don't want to influence prospective readers or spoil the story so all I can really say is- Read this if you want a different kind of book that involves a lot of elements.

As an aside, I still am confused as to the title and what exactly it refers to.

Hot lawyer in Seattle has sex, gets married, goes to sex clubs with her husband, gets divorced, then is really screwed over. Told as one long stream of consciousness, with the narrator in the present telling us about her past, this first-person chronicle takes some getting used to, but is ultimately worth the trip.
Can’t say I’m a fan of the format, but I ended up enjoying her journey. She would likely never realize how good she’s had it, preferring to microscope on the bad parts: how her parents suck, how her husband screwed her over. The good things in her life are basically the women she helps—though some are not worthy—her grandmother, and all the sex she has.
Toward the end it turns into a revenge fantasy come to life, where we find out who the true villain, the puppetmaster, is. The fact she enjoys sex with him doesn’t stop her from giving him what’s coming to him for all the misery he put her through, so the story ends with a sense of wrongs being righted and satisfaction being gained.
I did not think I would enjoy it this much when I started, especially the ending. Glad I stuck with it.

This is a story (I think) about Jessica who is a lawyer. She was a bit adventurous in high school and college but gets married to another lawyer Mark Love. They work for different law firms in Seattle. They start going to an adult club called SASSA. Once time when Jessica is alone, she meets three guys who show an interest in her. After playing for a bit, she is suddenly tired and wakes up days later after being in a car accident and realizes her entire life has changed. Does she have anyone to turn to for help? Will she find out who the guys were with her that night?

While the story is good, compared to some other books, this one did not have the spark I was looking for. There was nothing wrong with the story and it did not have a cliffhanger (which I am thankful for), it just did not pull me in to the story. I also did not find enough to classify it as erotic….maybe just a romance. The BDSM club really did not come into play in the true sense.

I started this book several months ago but couldn't get into it then, so I put it aside until I picked it up again a few days ago and I am so glad as I feel very differently about it now. I really enjoyed this story told in the first person, and recounting the story of Jessica Love, the eponymous, author.
This is a book, about relationships, about love, and sacrifice, determination and shallowness, justice and law, integrity, character and personality.
There are some sex scenes but not nearly as many as I expected, and they are well written and erotic but not extraneous to the story or put in just for effect. Indeed they are necessary to the progression of the tale.
The writing was a little too stylised at times, one or two of the people more caricature than character but on the whole it was a good read and I am really glad I went back to it. A book with erotic sex yes but with an unusual take on this genre, and more story than most.

My Thoughts:
Thanks to the author and publisher for contact me and give me a copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book is an anonymous autobiography with a lot of baggage from our lead woman. Her past is like a big Pandora box and is totally ready to explode everything that she left behind because it hit her so much. But she move forward and close that box to become a lawyer and married but even when she try hard to hide her real self her husband lead her without knowing to her most hidden secret. She just can’t denied how aroused she get and how much she want it. A husband that for my taste was so duel his own boss play with his mind just to get what he wants and he get it. That boss is a sexy man in his 50th and is confident with himself that Jessica finds Max very attractive but she didn’t expected him to be the one ruin Jessica’s marriage and life.

I enjoyed this character and her grandmother as well. Good character development, the author takes you along the journey of a woman as she grows into and begins her travel through adulthood discovering who she is and the strength of character within her. She finds herself and follows her grandmothers advise as she deals with those in her life that influence her and she finds the power within herself to be her own person and stand on her own and go after what is hers and those that have wronged her. Then discovering what her Grandmother chose in her own life that ultimately determined her path and a family she never knew of.

You go girl! I loved this book. She has me wanting to be a lawyer and "backgammon" those who condemn me. Jessica's story is told in an first person narrative and although it starts off choppy, the reader soon finds themselves drawn in and between periodic Google searches to try to find out who she is and the people she mentions in the book, you can't help but finish. I don't even know why this listed under erotica because it isn't. Although there are some steamy scenes it's less about the erotic encounters and how she is empowered through many failed relationships and screw ups in her life. That being said, her grandmama was amazing and I found myself wanting to hug the woman.

It's a well told story. Read it!

I thought this was brilliant. Right from the start it was different and it had me intrigued. It is written as a biography, but it's listed as fiction, but it almost seems believable. It makes you wonder if maybe it is true or at least partially true. It is listed as erotic suspense and while there are erotic elements, it is not a huge focus of the story, at least it wasn't for me. It's a story about a woman, really about her life, the events that happen, how she is changed by them and her thoughts throughout the whole thing. It is suspenseful, having some twists and turns, I just didn't want to put it down. I read it in one day and I will be checking out her future works. When I began reading this book, I thought I was reading a preface by the author, explaining why she wrote the book. Then I realized that this was the actual story. For the most part it's a narrative, without much conversation. It reads like a memoir. Jessica is a sensual person who likes having sex and is turned on by having an audience. She tames that side of herself for the first years of her marriage and her career as a lawyer. When her husband suggests they visit a sex club she lets that part of herself free again but suddenly her husband, who instigated everything, can't handle it. There is a bit of mystery thrown into the mix. The story was pretty good but I'm not a fan of this story telling style.

This book reads like a cross between an erotic novel and a predictable police procedural. It is not a terrible read, but it seems like it's just a one-off despite being first of a series. Jessica seems to have lived her life on her terms, dealt with a marriage that didn't quite work out, and made peace with someone who she felt manipulated her. I don't understand or find quite believable the change in her attitude towards one of the characters by the end of the book, on the basis of just how vitriolic their relationship is earlier in the story.
Overall, it's not a bad read, but it is a bit hard to define as erotica, thriller, romance, or straight fiction.

Sadly I didnt really like this book.
The sysnopsis led me to believe it was something it wasn't. Lots of waffle about a french grandmama that I feel didn't do anything for the story. If the author had cut most of that out and concentrated on what she wrote in her sysnopsis it would have been a great read, I liked the plot, I liked the revenge but the end was rushed.

This was an interesting story. It's not something you read about everyday. I didn't really care for they comments the author made about not giving certain details because she still lives/visits those places, etc. I felt they were unnecessary.
I did like the authors inventiveness in the whole vengeance scheme.
Overall it was a good story, but not my cup of tea.

I will write a book review at the end of the month. But I loved this book there was a lot happening in the authors life, and so many intimate details I felt I knew the author better than my own friends.

This is definitely a very interesting read and done in a way that it's not boring like some autobiography but still a story but with the exciting parts

Hot and steamy, but with an actual story and an intriguing main character, as opposed to the many books in this genre that really have no story at all.
