When Worlds Collide is such a smart and bingeable read. It’s fast-paced but still gives you time to get into the heads of both main characters, and I loved every second of it.
Liz is on a one-year break from her law career to write a novel. But instead of writing, she starts watching her neighborhood closely, especially during frequent dog walks. One misdelivered letter addressed to Sabrina changes everything. Sabrina is elegant, polished, and clearly used to being the center of attention. She gives off major high school queen energy. Liz is fascinated and becomes more and more invested in who this woman really is.
When Sabrina’s husband turns up dead, Liz starts connecting the dots. The more she thinks about what she’s seen, the more convinced she is that Sabrina is hiding something. And maybe Liz is the only one who can prove it.
The dual POVs work really well. Both Liz and Sabrina are flawed, messy, and completely believable. I especially appreciated how the story plays with themes of envy, image, and control without making it feel exaggerated.
This is a great debut. I read it in a day and would absolutely read more from this author.
