Now completely revised. this first volume of the two-volume series covers Douglas aircraft from their beginnings in1920s Los Angeles up to the merger with the McDonnell Aircraft Corporation in 1967. Among the aircraft discussed are the first Douglas transport, the Cloudster; the world cruisers that made the first flights around the earth; the DC-1, DC-2, and DC-3; and such World War II combatants as the SBD Dauntless dive bombers and the Devastator and Boston series.
