Once upon a time, in an enchanted kingdom of captive omega princes and jeweled dragon alpha princes….
Misha
The bravest thing I’ve ever done was to choose to leave the world I came from to stay permanently in the magical world. But it isn’t really a brave decision because I’m terrified and traumatized and I don’t know how to live anymore. I’ve met my fated mate, Azurus, but I’m not going into heat the way an omega should when they meet their mate.
All I want is to be normal and feel happy again, and Azurus might be the only person who can help me…
Azurus
It doesn’t matter how much of a warrior I’ve been, nothing has prepared me to fight the demons that plague my sweet, shy mate. But nothing I do seems to be able to heal him, and it’s breaking my heart. The only thing I can think to do is to take Misha to see my mother, Queen Gaia.
And then Mother sends us on a quest to collect three magical items that could either bring the two of us together at last or drive a wedge between us forever.
The Sapphire Dragon Prince is part of the Omega Fairy Tales, which were first introduced in Their Alpha. It is a tale of overcoming fear and finding love, of overcoming anxiety and depression, healing from trauma, and finding the sort of true love that heals even the hardest sorrows.
The Sapphire Dragon Prince is the fourth book in the ‘Omega Fairy Tales,’ series. It stars Misha, a human omega prince, and Azurus, an Alpha Sapphire Dragon Prince. This is told in first person from Misha and Azurus’ povs.
The cover of this book is just as amazing as the other covers in the series. Each has their own dragon style and color, along with a terrific font choice.
The blurb gives a brief description of what each character thinks and feels about themselves and their mate. The story revolves around Misha’s insecurities, depression, and anxiety, all caused by his father, the evil King. Unable to form a bond with Azurus, Azurus’ magic continues to fade. The two ask for help from Queen Gaia to help heal Misha’s depression and fear. Too do that, Queen Gaia sends them on a mission to bring back three objects. They set out on their mission, with the hardest task at the end. I really enjoyed the set-up of this plot. It wasn’t like the other books where the dragons and humans go into heat almost immediately and bond. This was a gradual growing together as Misha and Azurus completed their tasks. It was easy to believe that these two belonged together because we see them growing closer over time.
The author did a great job of creating a world that drew me in. I could imagine the settings as Misha and Azurus worked to complete each task. It was also easy to feel Misha’s happiness as he felt better completing those tasks.
Poor Misha. I felt so bad for him. His pain felt so real. Any little thought that crept into his head that he was unworthy would send him into a spiral. His belief that he wasn’t loveable or worthy of Azurus’ love was heartbreaking. The King had hurt Misha was so destructive, that Misha built walls around himself, not so much to keep people out, those walls were ones of depression, anxiety, etc. that kept him trapped in their grasp. Azurus loved Misha deeply, but he also had a lesson to learn on the quest. I like Azurus the best of the dragons so far. He was kind, understanding, and surprisingly gentle, which is exactly the kind of mate Misha needed. I could completely believe in these two as a couple.
After the end of the story, the author explained how and why the story was written as it was. I liked learning a little about the author and her thoughts on the writing of the book.
I enjoyed The Sapphire Dragon Prince the most of all the books in the series so far. The others were great in their own style, but I really enjoyed the quest aspect of this story, and the slow progression of Misha and Azurus’ relationship. Because of that, I give this book a solid, 5 Stars
I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.
In an enchanted kingdom, Misha, a traumatized omega prince, bravely chose to stay in the magical world but is struggling to cope. Despite meeting his fated mate, Azurus, he isn't experiencing the typical omega heat. Misha longs for normalcy and happiness, believing Azurus might be his only hope. Azurus, a dragon alpha prince and warrior, is heartbroken and unprepared to help his shy mate heal from his inner demons. As a last resort, he takes Misha to his mother, Queen Gaia. She sends them on a quest to find three magical items, a journey that could either unite them or tear them apart permanently.
This was a sweet story of how the quest helped to cure them both and their relationship from the blackness and sadness that was afflicting Misha (a bit like a mental health problem). I loved that the quest brought them both together and deepen their relationship. Lots of emotions and feelings in this story. This was an MM story with mature content.
Misha and Azurus go on a trip to better their relationship
More than any of the other books in this series, this book really does read like a fairy tale. Misha sounds like he has PTSD and struggles with what his father did to him and his brothers and Papa. Merry Farmer says at the end of the book that this book mirrors her struggles and the challenges that Misha and Azurus go through are things that helped her with her problems. In a very clever and readable way she has turned what a lot of us are probably going through to some extent lately into a loving road map to better mental health. I will probably be reading this book again and again to remind myself that things do get better.
Misha & Azurus are fated mates but Misha is anxious, depressed & traumatised by his horrible father. Azurus worries for Misha & takes him to his mother Queen Gaia. She sends them on a quest to find three items which are needed to help Misha break free. I found this to be an emotional read & I was routing for Misha all the way through. I loved how supportive Azurus was even though he had his own problems. I loved Misha who began by jumping at his own shadow & unable to see the light at the end of the tunnel. However he really wanted to conquer his feelings & I loved how he was determined to do so. The three tasks were ingenious & made the couple work together, made them laugh & made them dig deep. A beautifully written book which made me laugh & also shed a tear I voluntarily read and reviewed a special copy of this book; all thoughts and opinions are my own
"He was everything an alpha should be, strong, brave, and powerful, but he was so caring and gentle with me."
This is the 4th book in the series, Omega Fairy Tales by MM Farmer. I'm so loving the covers for these books and I can't wait to see the rest.
This story is about Prince Misha and the sapphire dragon Azurus. Misha's book is a bit of a departure from the first three in that he didn't get the fairy tale, fated mates welcoming, that the other brothers did. Because of this he does not feel like he's worthy of Azurus and Azurus feels powerless because everything he tries to do to help Misha, isn't working.
Fated mates, crippling anxiety, a magical quest, sometimes all the answers are inside us just waiting to break free, meggs, two more brothers to go
I absolutely connected with the character, Misha. Things that he deals with mentally, so do I. It was a beautiful story between Misha and Azurus. The quest and how it helped without them realizing until after each task was wonderful. On a lighter note, who knew gathering eggs would lead to funny interactions with the fierce hens?
Here's MM Farmer's latest: "The Sapphire Dragon Prince." It's the fourth novel in her Omega Fairy Tales series.

This book was about and personified anxiety/depression. It was about working hard, accepting help, and loving yourself. None of that is easy, especially with life and mental health weighing you down. But it gets easier if you surround yourself with loved ones, get to a better place physically and mentally, and admit that you want to be happier. It's work, to be happy, but Misha pushed himself and pushed himself to get there, for himself and for Azurus.
I love how each of these books follows a similar pattern/formula, but they're still so uniquely themselves, just like each of the princes (non-magical and dragon). I've loved everything we've read so far, and I can't wait for the rest! Also, gotta say, kinda loved the cliffhanger ending on this one.
This is the story of Prince Misha and his fated dragon mate, Azurus, and the blurb sets it up very well. Misha had already escaped to the magical kingdom where the dragon princes lived, he had met his fated mate, but all has not gone according to the plan when you meet your fated. Severely traumatized over the years by his father, Misha cannot find the happiness he should have. Instead, he is plagued by nightmares, and is constantly anxious and depressed. Poor Azurus wants to help his mate, but he can’t get past Misha’s emotional walls. Desperate, they go to Queen Gaia for help. She knows what they need, and sends them on a quest for three objects to “help her break the spell he is under”. As they achieve each task, Misha realizes truths about himself that help lead him to the love and life with Azurus that he deserves. The story for each Prince has its own twist, and Misha has had more trauma than the others to work out. Timid and gentle, he feels himself unworthy of his dragon prince, but as they go on the quest, he opens himself up more to his mate and finds a strength he never knew he had. I find this series to be engaging and enjoyable to read. I look forward to the stories of our last 2 princes and their dragon prince mates. I received an ARC from the author and this is my voluntary review.
This installment of the Omega Fairy Tales does cover a more darker topic than the others.
Misha has depression and anxiety, his life at the castle was hell for him and even his fated mate is not able to bring him out of his mental state. No heat, no bond which just throws Misha further into his anxiety.
When Queen Gaia sends these two on a quest, it's clear that the journey is not just to gather three items but also a path for Misha to heal and Azurus to learn.
There is plenty which shows that the author knows what she is talking and writing about, it's not an insta-fix, Misha is learning to enjoy life without magic and love but with taking it into his own hands.
Similar Azurus is having to let go of his idea what magic can fix everything.
These two are definitely a cute couple, the love is there and Azurus is determind to help Misha. I love how at the end both realise how reality is not what they thought it would be.
I now really want the next book, the author threw a teaser/tiny cliffhanger into the last chapter.
Misha & Azurus This story is fairly low-conflict, which is ideal for Misha after all he's gone through and how sensitive he's been up to this point. I knew his story would be unfortunately anxiety-filled, but he meshes so well with Azurus that it's easy to see how the sadness and depression fall away, although it's unfortunate it's even there in the first place. I loved the story arc these two were given as it fit both of them so well. Each of the Dragon Prince stories have matched very well with the couple they're based upon.
Misha has his own inner turmoil to conquer after so many horrible years under his father's thumb. I'm glad he chose for himself in the previous book to remove himself from the chance of further stress from his father. Getting his time with Azurus was healing in more ways than one. Azurus has to wield a high level of patience with Misha, but he does so because the love for him is there, even as their bond still hesitates to form. He knows how strong Misha is, but he also knows that Misha needs to be the one to accept that truth.
Their storyline was sweet and fun, which is needed as I assume what comes next may not be quite so happy and serene. I greatly enjoyed The Sapphire Dragon Prince, and I'm really looking forward to the next story with Obi & Argus.
I received an authorized copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
The Sapphire Dragon Prince is the fourth book in MM Farmers' Omega Fairy Tales series. A little different from the earlier books, because there's no omega in heat/jump into bed/baby. Prince Misha suffered from anxiety and extremely low self esteem. It makes him unable to bond with Alpha Sapphire Dragon Prince Azurus. Queen Gaia steps in, sending them on a quest together. There are three tasks, each one harder than the previous. Misha and Az have to work together to solve their quest, and they become friends. The road to lovers and mates was a little rough. Az was wonderfully supportive even though he had his own issues. And Misha absolutely blossomed with Az's care. Not just a fluffy, lite fairytale. Besides the mental health issues (dealt with very well), the Princes join forces with Lord Osric's rebellion against King Freslik. Only two more princes and then we'll get to see that bag of bully bones get taken down. I can't wait. I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my review.
I love everything about MM Farmer's dragon series, from the short length of each book to the way she captures the style of fairy tales and myths but makes the fantastical feel possible and magical at the same time. The Sapphire Dragon Prince might be my favorite because of how much Misha and Azurus struggle to be who they each need to be, both for themselves and each other. I rarely highlight quotes, but this one really struck me: "That's what love is," Mother said, spreading her now empty hands wide. "We cannot fight each other's demons, but we can lend strength and help through loving each other unconditionally." Each book in the series stands alone, but reading them in order is even better. The series as a whole is perfect for binge reading or a bit at a time on a work commute or at the end of the day to wind down. Enjoy!
This was is book four in the author’s Omega Fairy Tales series and features Misha, the emotionally fragile one of the six human princes that were fated to the magical dragon princes.
Anxiety, fear and depression had always ruled Misha’s life, courtesy of his father, the king, thus ruining any chance he had as an adult of finding happiness with his fated mate, Azarus, a sapphire dragon. When a quest to find three surprising items to aid in curing his depression turns dangerous, MIsha finds strength he didn’t know he had.
This was probably my least favorite book in the series, so far, with a super slow burn and extremely low heat level but, it WAS an interesting read as, other than the dragon aspect, it was pretty accurate in the way it portrayed depression as well as ways in which it could be realistically dealt with. Not really a sweet and fluffy romance, this contained a lot of sadness and depression…except with dragons. 4 stars!
I received a copy of this book for free but am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book basically deals with the insecurity of Misha. His father has drilled so much negativity into him that he fears that he is broken and no one wants him, even though he has a fated mate. What I found in this book is that for a relationship to work, you have to share the workload and be truthful with each other. This book also deals with mental health. Being a Vietnam veteran, I feel that I fall into a pit sometimes, but I have supportive friends and a family that cares.
Sent on a quest, Misha finds an inner strength that he never knew existed and Azurus learned that sometimes magic could not fix a problem and that working together for a common goal had an unexpected reward. The story read like a fairy tale with the eventual happy ending. It’s a fun, whimsical read that I enjoyed. I received a free copy of this book via Bookfunnel and are voluntarily leaving a review.
The thing I liked most about this book is how well the author dealt with explaining trauma in the poor omega. To some people it may seem redundant but this story pretty accurately portrays a trauma response. I appreciate that Misha was able to find his inner strength with the love of his mate. And how Azurus also found strength without his magic. I can't wait for the next book in the series! I received an advanced copy for my honest opinion.
Prince Misha is very troubled dealing with anxiety and the way his father treated himself and his brothers. He has met his fated mate Azurus a dragon shifter, but does not feel their connection. He feels broken. Azurus tries everything he can think of to help, but because of Misha’s disinterest he is losing his magic. Azurus’s mother Gaia sends them on a quest for special items. This adventure was so much fun to read and seeing the love between them bloom.
I absolutely loved this story. This is the fourth book in this series and really needs to be read in order to enjoy the backstory. This time we get Misha’s HEA and it was such an inspiring story about being stronger than you think you are. I can’t wait for the next story.
I absolutely fell in love with Misha and Azuras. How they worked together to overcome fears and to create their bond was magical to experience. With their help of Queen Gaia, Misha learns how to trust in himself and learn to cope. Azuras has his own lessons to learn. This whole series takes you on such an adventure. I cannot wait to see how they defeat the evil.
This one really got me in my feelings. Poor, sweet Misha has really been through it with his evil father. Azurus wants nothing more than to protect him but unfortunately you can't protect someone from themselves and their internal dialog. I really enjoyed them going on the quest and slowly getting to know one another better and actually falling in love.
Azurus and Misha were a cute couple. I loved seeing how they worked together to meet the tasks given to them. I enjoyed seeing representation of anxiety and depression and how there are times that even with love from family and friends it is hard to function through the day. This was another great book in this series.
Wonderful story of Misha, tormented son of the King and his fated mate, Azurus, a dragon shifter. Misha and Azurus have a difficult time on their journey to happiness, but the lessons they learn are life changing and uplifting. Highly recommend.
I'm voluntarily leaving a review after receiving a free copy. I liked the guest that Queen Gaia sent Misha and Azurus on so that Misha could be healed. It was the journey of discovery that healed both of them so could finally mate and start their family. I liked the author's message at the end.
